We had a quick, 1 night stay here. This was our only traditional "hotel" stay while in Ireland. We booked 2 rooms and they were exactly as you would expect at any nice hotel in the US. The most unique part of this hotel is the pool/fitness area, which is below the hotel. This area doubles as a local gym with memberships. The pool was HUGE, had several different hang-out areas, and a large jacuzzi. There was a steam room, a sauna, and a 2-story fitness area. Access to this area is included in your stay. Overall, a very nice stop on our trip.

There is a big pool, sauna, and fitness center. We liked the pub though did not try the restaurant which had a good menu selection. Our favorite place to stay thus far in last two weeks.

We booked 2 double rooms,1 room smelled musty like a dirty mop, they came in and sprayed the floor which made it slightly better, the other room was in fact a family room (for 1 person) this room smelt like sewerage. After several conversations we were offered another room, the new room was a downgrade from what was booked, we are still waiting on confirmation of compensation.

Easy checking and ample parking with lots to do around area. Used gym and spa tub, wished aqua area stayed open later. Staff super friendly. Only hiccup was the room key, had to make 4 trips to desk when key quit working after being there for 2 days. Would definitely stay again though.

We are from out of country so we didn’t know the door key also worked the lights. The carpet was badly stained and the curtains fraying. The tub jets were dirty with gunk. There was no hot water for a showing the morning. The restaurant staff were great and coffee was great.

Not quite the quality I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Issues with cold food in the bar and grill. Not a great cooked breakfast. Room not cleaned properly and mould around the shower cubicle where it hadn’t been cleaned properly over a period of time. But staff on reception excellent and friendly and otherwise comfortable rooms

Although the lobby area appeared to have been upgraded, the remainder of the hotel needs a good cleaning. Carpets were dirty as was cloth furniture in room. Beds were comfortable, but with the other obvious lack of cleanliness, it was disconcerting.

Dans la première chambre qu’on nous a donné, il y avait de la matière fécale du dernier utilisateur de la chambre dans les toilettes. Nous avons demandé à changer de chambre et nous avons eu une chambre vieillotte, cette fois ci,il y avait des traces de goûtes sur le siège des toilettes, que j’ai dû nettoyer moi même. La moquette était tachée, la table avait des traces de cigarettes ou je ne sais quoi, et les abats jours étaient déchirés. Bref cela ne valait pas le prix que nous avons payé soit 165 euros, ni les 4 étoiles.

Beautiful hotel spoilt by poor housekeeping. Stayed 3 nights & could not shower the first night due to a very mouldy shower cubicle. Reported this plus toilet flush handle missing and old bits of crisps on the floor. The mould was rectified along with the floor being swept but despite reporting the toilet flush each day nothing was done. Staff very apologetic but when it costs almost £200 a night I feel if they couldn't manage to sort a simple problem they should have compensated me.

Excellent really but one MAJOR problem. Heating system in the rooms is abysmal. Took about 3 hours to get up to desired level. (NOT a "one off"). 4th or 5th visit in 12 months (same problem. Obviously not a problem in August etc but...)

I booked this hotel on the strength that I had stayed here previously and had enjoyed my stay. I was given a family room with bunk beds, but that was no issue as on the whole there was nothing wrong with it. The bed was a little hard for my liking. Overall it’s a lovely hotel and it was a nice experience but there were definitely a few things that could be improved. I had requested early check in, far in advance as I had an event I needed to get ready for. When I arrived they said they had no rooms ready and wouldn’t give me an estimate as to when a room would be ready. My only other option was to get ready in the pool changing rooms which was a disaster as the floor was soaking and the place was roasting. If you need your room early just book the night before to save yourself the hassle. Rooms are gorgeous and spacious and the bathroom is amazing. Only thing missing from the room was a mini fridge, that’s the only addition to the room that would make it even better. The one thing that was most disappointing was the cleaning team who service the rooms each day. When I arrived back the bed wasn’t properly made, the bathroom toiletries hadn’t been restocked, same with the coffee and tea tray, the dirty spoons and mug from the previous night were still there and curtains were still closed. This was the most disappointing aspect of the trip. Overall it’s a lovely hotel with great facilities and everything you’ll need. But there are definitely a few areas that could improve.

We decided to stay just out of Cork so we could be closer to the Blarney castle. So glad we did! The hotel was in a perfect location and convenient. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the rooms clean. The shower area was small but sufficient. Great views from our room.

Always like staying at the Oriel. It's my go-to hotel now in Cork. Staff always friendly, food good, rooms are perfect. Only slight issue is it's not in the city centre, but that's actually a positive for me :-)

Un vrai quatre étoiles, au calme à la campagne au bord d'un joli parc le long de la rivière Lee, et très bien desservi par le bus pour rejoindre Cork centre-ville en vingt-trente minutes. Les amateurs de footing peuvent profiter de la Gun Powdery Trail dans le parc juste à côté. Le rapport qualité-prix de ce séjour était quasi-imbattable.

Only stayed one night. Didn’t have any meals there or used the pool. Receptionist was really nice and told us everything we needed to know . Room was good. Easy to get bus from nearby stop in to Cork City and back.

This was a deluxe stay! The restaurant and bar were great! And the property is lovely! The only downside is that it is quite a drive in to town and we couldn’t really walk anywhere.

This was a deluxe stay! The restaurant and bar were great! And the property is lovely! The only downside is that it is quite a drive in to town and we couldn’t really walk anywhere.

Not quite the quality I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Issues with cold food in the bar and grill. Not a great cooked breakfast. Room not cleaned properly and mould around the shower cubicle where it hadn’t been cleaned properly over a period of time. But staff on reception excellent and friendly and otherwise comfortable rooms

Oriel House is a comfortable and modern hotel which would suit business and leisure stays alike. There is a good spa and swimming pool attached and we enjoyed using this each day we were there. The staff were friendly and helpful - I had an issue with the original room we were given and they changed it without any fuss, quickly and efficiently. My only question comes over food. The restaurants are adequate but, on balance, I'd recommend going into the town for dinner. Breakfast is a self-service buffet with a good selection, though the hot food (kept under silver domes) was not as hot as I would have liked.

Fenella at the front desk was amazing however all other staff and service was well below par. The service and staff in the breakfast restaurant was very poor. Hotel made a big fuss about booking a time only to turn up at the right time and breakfast was half ready and staff walked around in another world.

Tyvärr fick vi ett rum med en ventilationsfläkt från köket precis under fönstret och den var igång hela natten så vi kunde inte sova. Hotellet var fullbokat så vi kunde inte byta rum men vi fick tillbaka hälften av kostnaden för rummet. För övrigt var det ett trevligt hotell!

A very well maintained property. Food was great. Room was clean and staff were helpful. Did t have an opportunity to try out the amenities but they have many to chose from. A bit far from the core if u want an easy trek into the town centre. Overall a nice place.

We were very pleased with our stay. The staff people at the hotel and bistro were so helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean, our room was spacious and comfortable, the bed was comfortable, the rainfall shower had the perfect water pressure. The only disappointment was breakfast. The coffee was so weak we wondered if they'd given us tea, instead, and the food was just mediocre. Other than that, we had no complaints.
