First Cabin International Hawaii

Nice and comfortable I like that I can close the bed area off. It was nice and private. I could stand on the bed and still have room. Of course this was the business class. There is no room to stand on the side of the bed, but the pod was nice. Overall the lounge area is nice and has a great view. They have a coffee set up that was nice in the kitchen area.

Think budget in Waikiki. The idea of a nice capsule hotel is a good one, the challenge is the logistics of Waikiki. All the lockers weren’t functional, they were in lock position already and unable to be used. There are bike locks in the “business class” room, and fortunately 1 of them was usable. The good part of this is that the front desk staff is excellent and offered to put my luggage in the office area. If they could figure this out I’d feel better. The other problem is the bed feels like cardboard wrapped in cotton. I imagined a nice cozy experience feeling the other people around me, but I’m dreading sleeping because I’m imagining I’ll be laying around listening to people snoring. Hopefully I’m wrong

Location is Great. For the price its what I expected I stayed in the first class cabin and it was comfortable. I liked the separate lounge area in front of my cabin.

The facilities were clean and staff were very nice and helpful. I had a couple of concerns, but for the price, it was a relatively good stay. 1) I was supposed to have a designated locker with my booking, but the one I was assigned couldn’t be opened (even by the staff) and for some reason they wouldn’t just re-assign me a new one, so I went without. 2) the “mattress” was not a mattress, it was a thin mat like you’d find in a gym. The website descriptions could be more accurate in this regard, as it clearly states there will be a comfortable twin mattress and that’s not true. Overall, no regrets and would stay there again if needed.

This place has so much potential, but management is letting it go to waste. The pods are very clean and comfortable, refreshed every two days, and towels are replaced daily—which is excellent for this type of place. Storage is excellent, the lounge and work areas are great, the coffee/tea is solid, and the Wi-Fi is exceptionally fast. The concept and location are excellent. But the showers are disgusting—mold and slime on the curtains that clearly haven’t been cleaned in a long time. I raised the issue twice at the front desk, and while staff seemed concerned, nothing was done. Reading other reviews from a week and even a month ago saying the same thing proves this is an ongoing problem management is ignoring. I even scrubbed one of the showers myself with the provided shampoo just to make it usable, but what’s really needed is proper cleaning products and attention. Honestly, if they gave me the supplies and a couple of beers, I’d fix it myself. It’s unacceptable that something as basic as a clean shower is being ignored. Why risk your reputation and investment over something so simple? This could easily be a five-star stay, but until management takes action, it’s a place with great pods, fast Wi-Fi—and disgusting showers. I have 8 more nights and writing a google review they clean half of the showers. So they halfway care about hygiene.

Great pod hotel! Some insight for Americans looking to try it out. It mostly caters to Asian / international clientele, which is where pod hotels originated. That being said, very welcoming. The pod itself is in a gender segregated room. Each room has a door code so only those in your area can access. The privacy door in pod is a pull down screen, so you can hear anything from the other pods. That being said, my section was absolutely silent though all pods were occupied. Bathroom area is also code accessed, and has one room with individual shower stalls and other with toilet stalls. Then a communal sink area. Storage lockers are on the opposite end of the hallway, but also accessed via code. The laundry machines, while a nice touch, are only available after 7pm. Down side for me (being a Westerner) was the mattress is extremely firm. Also, pods do not have unique AC control, but they kept the room very comfortable. I did not ask if they had any mattress toppers or anything to soften it, but would gladly stay there again. Lounge was also communal and had sink area, hot water, etc.

Other than that it was okay, and the location was excellent, as its in the middle of everything. The view from the common area was kinda nice too since its on the 14th floor. If you need a place to work remotely from this is an okay option for the price, if you're on vacation on a budget i would highly recommend booking one of the hostels instead.

Making sure that people with rental know where to park or have knowledge about parking options

As a solo traveler, this was perfect! Location was exceptional with food, beach, coffee shops all nearby. Everything on site was very secure and easy to manage with door codes.

Just stay in a regular hostel. This hotel is dirty, smelled bad, and the people were unfriendly. This business will no longer exist in a few months.

The pods are not sound proof. If you are a light sleeper, this would not be a good choice. People are on their phone using speaker phone and are just not respectful of others. The bed is like sleeping on the floor. The shower and bathroom is only cleaned once a day and quite honestly, it needs it at least twice. The shower curtains smell of mildew really bad. For the price, the location can’t be beat.

Too many women coming in & out, the noise of the door opening & closing throughout the night and some people are just completely inconsiderate, making noise, talking on their phone as if they're in their own private room. The next day I asked the front desk for ear plugs & an eye mask & had a decent nights sleep. Also wasn't a fan of the bathroom access being down the hall instead of connected to the womens room. With so many women, the bathroom sink area was always dirty & the floor & showers were covered in hair. Also being that the pods were designed more for people coming & going on business, there are strict rules like no wet clothing allowed in the rooms and there isn't extra space to hang clothing. If you go swimming you can sign up to use the dryer. The pod experience just wasn't for me.

Clean, quiet, and in a great location.

My stay at First Cabin Hawaii was above and beyond! The rooms, bathrooms and showers were very clean. The staff provided fantastic hospitality!

100% the neatest place. So clean, quiet, hospitable, staff is great with tips and helping where they can. I love the pods. AC is so nice and cool

I liked the concept and friendly staff. I disliked the dirtiness of the bathroom and shower area. I also disliked the extremely hard mattress. It was like sleeping on a block of concrete. I had to sleep on the comforter and use the sheet for cover. If those 2 areas of concern get fixed. This would be an excellent place to stay when visiting Honolulu.

Too much snoring, some guests with bad manners inconsiderate of others, that include tracking dirt in showers, and basic task of flushing toilets. The cleaners and front desk were exceptional.

Have an excellent location, the place is really good for the price, only I didn’t like the bed because it was hard but it’s okey.

I have a hard time with this place. While the concept is great, it is not comfortable at all. The beds are hard as a rock, difficult to climb into (and I’m only 5'4”), and the noise between capsules is ridiculous. I checked in around 6pm, wasn’t given much information about the amenities, and was simply told where to go and left to fend for myself. The location is convenient, close to a lot, but after exploring for a couple of hours I decided to retire to my capsule around 9:40pm. I tried to log into the TV, but it was such a difficult feat that I gave up and just listened to my phone. Once I finally fell asleep, I was woken by people hooking up in a capsule nearby—it was completely inappropriate. After that, I turned up my earbuds, only to be woken again by a loud snorer. When I opened my pod, I found another guest struggling to sleep as well because of the uncomfortable beds and the noise. When I mentioned this to the front desk, they told me that guest was checking out that day and that it “shouldn’t be an issue.” But the reality was, I was unable to sleep at all. At 2am and again at 4:30am, I got up to lodge further complaints and told staff I was making alternative lodging arrangements. They were apologetic but said I would need to return when the manager was on duty in the morning. At 5am, I gave up trying to rest and went for a walk, as it was simply impossible to relax with the noise and the hard bed. When I came back, I decided to take a quick shower—only to step on

You can't beat the location! It's right across from one Waikiki's shopping centers, a minutes walk to breath taking beaches, and variety of eateries to choose from. I was greeted warmly by the waitstaff. Check-in is at 3 PM, and I came in early. Luckily, I was able to leave my baggage until I can be properly processed and was allowed to stay in the lounge area. They have beautiful ocean views. For the most part, common areas, showers and bathrooms are kept clean and orderly. Unfortunately, the sleeping pods themselves were uncomfortable! The disposable PAPER-like sheets to the 3 inch firm pad, and the tiny steps to enter the pod. I was there for a week, and the sheets are not changed daily. Mine was changed twice during my stay. I think the piling on the sheets disentegrating was the clue to getting a change out. There was also no insulation between pods. I can hear people whispering very clearly as well as people shifting their luggage. Sooo...with. great location comes the party loud noises and it does not stop until well past midnight. The listing advertised for a refrigerator and there was none available during my stay. If you're looking for a comfortable rest, this is NOT the place for you. This is more for a place to layover, relax, and chill before a flight. I can't even recommend this place for a nap in the afternoon because that's when cleaners are in the area and it is VERY loud!

Did not like the fact they charged my card two days before my stay. I called and sent an email, I was told it was on hold until after my stay. But yet when I got there, they had already charged my card. So I told girls and the manager what was said, and they was able to credited me back so i could use my other card. So I was happy about that.It was nice really cant complain. Just not my cup of tea. I don't know what you call that thing that was on the bed. A feather bed, it didn't have enough feathers period. It looked comfortable in the pictures,but I don't know, it is was un comfortable. The bed underneath was hard as a rock. TV was hanging to high,almost broke my neck. Location was hard to find.

The bed was so uncomfortable that I couldn’t sleep, I had to defend another guest against a potential human trafficking situation during my stay, and after everything, the hotel will not respond to my requests for a refund.

Very nice experience. Staff was very kind and patient. Had friends that stayed at other locations, and they had complaints about people, cleanliness, and service. I had the complete opposite while staying here. They clean pretty often, the property is nice and quiet, and any issues I had were resolved by staff pretty quick. Left my luggage to charge for my flight, and Brian stood over it and watched it for that short duration! Was a nice touch, and not something I’d experienced haha. Thank you again all It is a cabin style, so be prepared for that. Other than that, for the price / location right in the middle of downtown, you can’t beat this place

The location was right in the middle of everything and very close to the beach. Staff was very cordial and accommodating towards my late nite check-in. Will definitely book here again when I return.

The price was amazing! It was very clean and they had everything you needed. The location was right next to the bus stop and guided tour pick up locations. Food access was all around and a good set of choices. The beach was very close. I will for sure use it again.
