The staff was great, the property seems to be in the middle of some renovations. Pool was nice but no chIrs to sit in. Bed had a ripped plastic cover and 2 twin flat sheets on it that didnt fit. A small bed spread but no blankets. When we arrived the a/c was off so we could not stay in the room, it was 90 plus degrees, also the mini fridge was unplugged. Room was dated and not very clean. Again, the staff was friendly and when we did ask for something tried to help us. I hope they renovate the place because it has a lot of potential.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The staff is absolutely amazing — some of the nicest people we’ve ever met. They were so friendly, kind, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. You can really tell they care about their guests. The place was clean, and the pool was beautiful and relaxing. Honestly, the staff alone make this hotel worth coming back to. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nassau.

This was a unique experience allowing us to spend time with locals and away from all the tourists. The building is in the process of being rehabilitated. We did not have any issue with construction noise. We did have issues with cold water pressure in the shower. We enjoyed the pool and the quiet location. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

A equipe é muito simpatica e me deixaram fazer early check in e late check out. O quarto é simples mas tem ventilador e ar condicionado. O quarto no andar terreo é meio barulhento. Faltou agua no segundo dia, o que foi meio incomodo, mas nos outros dias foi ok. O hotel nao tem ratos nem baratas pois tem uns lindos e adoraveis gatinhos . Depois descobri q tem um lugar pra comer, pena que nao experimentei. Tambem não experimentei a piscina pois trm praias maravilhosas na volta

Fairly bare bones. The room had a bed, microwave, mini fridge and TV. Went to adjust the angle of the TV and it almost fell off the wall. Bed was comfortable enough. Bathroom needs some repair work. Had trouble getting the shower turned on and never had any hot water. Additionally , the tub did not drain very well. By the time I was finished showering, the water was up at my ankles. There was hot water after when I brushed my teeth. Also, handle came off the bathroom faucet the first time we tried to use it. Room only has an overhead light. No bedside lamps so if you want to read in bed, you are forced to get out of bed to turn the light off. Overall, room was small but you get what you pay for. I was not expecting a 5 star experience but this was disappointing. I did expect more.

Room was sorry with blood stains on toilet vase. 2 power ports damaged, one sticking out and dangerous to be used. Toilet paper holder broken. Ceramic soap holder in shower broken and sharp… if not careful enough while showering, we could have easily cut our hands. Light switch in bathroom broken. Shower curtain holder tighted up with a rusty nail which was in propose twisted in order to work. We asked for clean towels, no one brought them. We had to go next morning to ask for clean towels. We could not stay more than 2 nights. First night we arrived very tired and late so we overlooked these horrible conditions but next day it was new year eve and we left all night, however, next morning we found a better place and left. We made a claim through hotels.com but until now, we have not heard anything for possible refund. I don’t know how you guys allow this place to be published under hotels.com

We liked the location of the property. It was a fairly quiet area, and was within walking distance of cable beach, Starbucks and a local grocery store. The room was a decent size and it was clean. The AC worked well and that was a definite plus. The room was basic though, just a bed. There was nothing was in the room to make the stay more comfortable. No hangars in the closet, no chair to sit on or just to have to throw clothes on. No kettle or coffee machine and no cups to have a drink. Towels were limited and there was no hand towel or floor towel in the bathroom. There was nowhere to hang a towel, no hooks or rails. A lamp on the beside table would have been nice as there was only one light on the wall and no curtains on the upper windows so it was very bright in the morning. One additional mirror outside the bathroom would have helped as it was challenging when trying to get ready. Lots of potential with this property! If you don't need any fuss and can fend for yourself it's ok for a couple of nights. Shout out to Montez!! Who was always around to help and went above and beyond when we were stuck! Thank you!

The place was absolutely underwhelming. You get what you pay for. The property is outdated, but I can tell it has potential if they actual renovate. I left immediately once I saw the actual property didn’t necessarily match the photos. The staff was nice and understanding that I wasn’t comfortable with staying. It didn’t necessarily feel safe. Also, there was no wifi and I needed it as I work remotely.

The Hotel manager Chrissy made my stay amazing by being welcoming, warm, informative and very friendly. She not only made my stay at the garden island hotel an excellent experience but she also made my whole vacation the best experience ever! Chrissy is the best; the Garden Island Hotel is the best. I will be visiting again!!!

We were pleased to find this property at the last second after our flight was cancelled and we had nowhere to stay. The property manager made sure our keys were in our rooms and she brought towels up right away. The pool was nice to enjoy although the property is currently under renovations for upgrades so there is some activity buzzing around. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and accommodating for us, even giving us a drive to a restaurant when our taxi didn’t show up and waiting for us to take us back home. The friendly women at the front desk went out and purchased a kettle for our room so we could make tea which was thoughtful. They also allowed us to delay check out so that we didn’t have to drag our luggage around Nassau. Note of caution on finding the hotel: Google Maps is incorrect and will lead you to the Sandals resort…the staff have tried to fix this issue several times to no avail. Be sure to tell your taxi driver you are going to the Landshark hotel (the locals still know it by the old name). We are grateful the staff made us feel comfortable during our stay while we waited to get rebooked.

The pool was nice to enjoy although the property is currently under renovations for upgrades so there is some activity buzzing around. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and accommodating for us, even giving us a drive to a restaurant when our taxi didn’t show up and waiting for us to take us back home. The friendly women at the front desk went out and purchased a kettle for our room so we could make tea which was thoughtful. They also allowed us to delay check out so that we didn’t have to drag our luggage around Nassau. Note of caution on finding the hotel: Google Maps is incorrect and will lead you to the Sandals resort…the staff have tried to fix this issue several times to no avail. Be sure to tell your taxi driver you are going to the Landshark hotel (the locals still know it by the old name). We are grateful the staff made us feel comfortable during our stay while we waited to get rebooked.

A equipe é muito simpatica e me deixaram fazer early check in e late check out. O quarto é simples mas tem ventilador e ar condicionado. O quarto no andar terreo é meio barulhento. Faltou agua no segundo dia, o que foi meio incomodo, mas nos outros dias foi ok. O hotel nao tem ratos nem baratas pois tem uns lindos e adoraveis gatinhos . Depois descobri q tem um lugar pra comer, pena que nao experimentei. Tambem não experimentei a piscina pois trm praias maravilhosas na volta

After driving back and forth several times, we had to pay him more to take us to another hotel with a vacancy. Property was very responsive to questions through Hotels.com, so I am not sure if this is a scam or something else is wrong.

Property was very difficult to find. Sign facing street and street number were not easily visible. Eventually stopped to ask at cigar store and while parking, saw the hotel sign on the wall. No lights on the sign and arrived after dark. Once inside the white gates (again no signage), everyone was helpful and nice. Room was minimal but clean. Staff friendly and nice. Looked MUCH better in daylight. construction happening in the lobby etc

As best I can tell the property doesn’t exist. When you call the contact number you get this very annoying bot that accuses you of being a telemarketer. It’s the most bizarre thing. None of local taxi drivers ever heard of the place and refuse to take the fare. When you get google map directions with the given address you get shown a blank lot or a different establishment. I wasted an hour or more chasing this down. Very frustrating, I will be seeking a full refund.

We liked the location of the property. It was a fairly quiet area, and was within walking distance of cable beach, Starbucks and a local grocery store. The room was a decent size and it was clean. The AC worked well and that was a definite plus. The room was basic though, just a bed. There was nothing was in the room to make the stay more comfortable. No hangars in the closet, no chair to sit on or just to have to throw clothes on. No kettle or coffee machine and no cups to have a drink. Towels were limited and there was no hand towel or floor towel in the bathroom. There was nowhere to hang a towel, no hooks or rails. A lamp on the beside table would have been nice as there was only one light on the wall and no curtains on the upper windows so it was very bright in the morning. One additional mirror outside the bathroom would have helped as it was challenging when trying to get ready. Lots of potential with this property! If you don't need any fuss and can fend for yourself it's ok for a couple of nights. Shout out to Montez!! Who was always around to help and went above and beyond when we were stuck! Thank you!

We were pleased to find this property at the last second after our flight was cancelled and we had nowhere to stay. The property manager made sure our keys were in our rooms and she brought towels up right away. Horrible experience. We stayed 3 nights and every night we had a member of staff try entering our room or knocking on the door hard almost at midnight. When asked, They claimed to think that the room was empty. There was no hot water. No wash/scrub towels. The bath towels had rust marks. The bed mattress had stains and when we checked in the demanded a USD100 deposit cash in case we did not come back. It was not until after the horrible experience that I understood why the deposit. I would not recommend it to anyone. The Saturday night sevetal locals were having wild pool party. We could not find parking. Ended parking in a dark and abandoned empty lot behind the hotel and waking up at 2am to move our car. The staff were very unprofessional and when asked about the loud music and party, we were told that the bar is sublease and the hotel has no control of the events held.
