Excellent value for money

On arrival the foyer area looks very nice and modern. We had plenty of time to look at it as there was no staff on the reception desk. We pressed the ring doorbell style button and waited for a few mins as other staff buzzed around without acknowledging us. Eventually 2 people came to reception and we were checked in by a distracted individual. My first comment on entering the room was 'corporate'. Basic and functional. We were pretty close to reception on the ground floor and it was a very noisy evening. It quietened down just after midnight. We also had to contend with noisy TVs from other rooms late into the evening. There was a random dirty spoon in our room on the desk and the bath tub moved when I was taking a shower and the TV only worked once during our stay. There was also an early morning fire alarm which sounded for 30 seconds then stopped. The food is the thing that resulted in the stars for this review. The dinner menu was varied and the food was very nice. Very quick service. Under an hour for all 3 courses but their alterior motive was to get the table back which they quickly told us the second we finished our desserts. Breakfast was also very good. Basic cold selection but the cooked breakfast was very nice. Staff across the venue were very hit and miss. Some were brilliant and taking pride in their work. Others just gave you the impression you were an inconvenience for them. Unfortunately wouldn't stay again.
