I booked here because I needed to be near the airport and it was cheap. The hotel has a large car park plenty of spaces. Rooms are not en-suite and it was quite a walk to the toilet. Bed was comfortable room was quite depressing and tired and very basic. Not a pleasant experience

I will get the only negative thing out of the way, you don't have a toilet/ shower in your room. they are shared facility at the start of the corridor. First time in years I have not had en-suite, it wasn't the end of the world but it was a bit strange. The room was very clean as was all the public spaces, it looks as if has just been done up. The bed was comfortable and there was a bit of space in the room. It is next to a Toby pub, so we went there for dinner and for breakfast. It is very near to a Metro station so easy to get about. A good place to leave your bag and to rest your head once you have had a night out in Newcastle.

Probably the adjustment for the shower and it being timed and having to tap it back on and the temperature being weird to set but then again that could be me being slow however besides that absolutely happy with the accommodation

Cheap, but you get what you pay for (basic amenities and shared toilets/showers down corridor). Kettle not working on arrival, but staff was very helpful and quick to replace.

The hotel is showing signs of wear. I have never slept in such an uncomfortable bed. The mattress was cheap and worn so badly you could feel every spring and i only slept for 4 hours. The WiFi didn't work and the corridor outside the room transmitted every sound as people walked past. The location was handy for me but external signage mrant you almost drove past it. Cheap but i will not stay here again.

When I arrived, the room had a strong musty smell, and both the room and corridors felt quite dingy. There was also a strong smell of marijuana in the corridors, which added to the overall discomfort. The communal showers and toilets were not shown in the listing photos, and in reality, they were poorly maintained and did not feel clean, which I found misleading. Although I was provided with the Wi-Fi network name and password, neither I nor my mother and friend—who were staying with me—were able to detect the network at all, let alone connect to it. This made it impossible for us to stay in the room, and I ended up checking out after only a few hours rather than staying the intended two nights. The room did match the photos in terms of layout, but only one angle was shown, which made it hard to gauge the actual size. It felt very cramped for three people. Additionally, the ladder on the bunk bed was unstable and wobbled when used. That said, I do want to mention that the receptionist was lovely and very helpful throughout.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The room looked filthy from the moment I entered. The walls were shabby, the sink looked unclean and the carpet didn't appear to have been hoovered recently. During my stay I was only in the room a total of (about) 5 hours but was bitten twice by something and had very itchy skin, in two places, as a result. The communal bathrooms were also very dirty and there was no soap, of any kind, in the toilets. The way in is also not good, for pedestrians, as there is no footpath. Finally I was woken, around 2am, by loud shouting and the sound of doirs slamming and people arguung etc.

Well. You have to read the fine print here. We are talking about shared toilets and bathrooms with poor hygiene. Pictures are misleading. I checked out 30 minutes after I checked in. I had to find another hotel to stay for the night.

Took one step inside the room and the stench was a cross between a hospital and a gutter. There was blood on the radiator and window and someone had clearly relieved themselves in the sink. Handed the key back and left straight away.

The location was good and thats about as good as it got. The room is very very basic with no kettle in the room. The bed was shocking it was clean but very lumpy due to the springs being gone.would i stay here again NOT A CHANCE.

Metro Inns are a ultra budget chain so you get what you pay for... a safe room to sleep/be awake in... no ensuite but communal separate shower rooms and toilets that are clean and presentable The Newcastle site appeals to people who are headed to the nearby airport so it was not a surprise to have my door banged on at 4am in the morning by a group of drunken Geordie tw@ts informing me they were going to Cypress... as they did this for all the guests in my corridor, I did not feel singled out. Rooms are tired, and, despite being "non smoking" they smelled of past residents smoking, smelled damp. Bed sheets and provided towels well laundered and clean Will stay there again but not for the faint hearted but cheap and very convenient- breakfast at nearby McDonald's at 5am

Staff try their best. Rooms are dated and worn out. Bed was quite uncomfortable. Check out was early 10 am. Carpark is great, links to Newcastle via metro and bus is good. Formula one hotel was it's old name ( french I think) basic but dated.

Absolutely terrible No sleep when we needed to catch an early flight with dogs barking in the early hours as there were dogs staying at hotel and also guests shouting, arguing and pacing the floors. Very thin walls shared toilets which wernt made clear and also room photos do not show the rooms properly.

Good start with friendly reception staff, but the room was like a prison cell: one strip flourescent light, wood-chip walls, saggy mattress. I know you get what you pay for, & I already knew the room did not have a private bathroom, but it was very bleak and very disappointing. I would not recommend unless desperate.

Got wot you paid for allstaff were brill apart from 1 miserable not the word not 1 bit of customer skill what so ever sat or sunday nite shift need to be gone

Staff are lovely & welcoming Stayed a few times now although last time. I stayed in room 109 it wasn’t very warm through the night although all other rooms I’ve stayed in have been nice and warm not sure what the cause was

Cheap, but you get what you pay for (basic amenities and shared toilets/showers down corridor). Kettle not working on arrival, but staff was very helpful and quick to replace.

Very friendly lady at the counter. We travelled to Newcastle recently for the Great North Run. The lady (I am so sorry for not remembering her name) had plenty of suggestions about how to get to the venue. She even let us keep the car parked after our check out. The location is very good as well. Buses and Metro available within a short walking distance. Great value for money!

Ive stayed at the Metro a few times now and the staff are all friendly and accommodating. I will continue to stay at the Metro every time i go to Newcastle.

I booked here because I needed to be near the airport and it was cheap. The hotel has a large car park plenty of spaces. Rooms are not en-suite and it was quite a walk to the toilet. Bed was comfortable room was quite depressing and tired and very basic. Not a pleasant experience

Exactly as advertised, perfectly nice room and just 10 minutes from the metro station at Kingston Park. Plenty of food and shopping options nearby too.

Staff try their best. Rooms are dated and worn out. Bed was quite uncomfortable. Check out was early 10 am. Carpark is great, links to Newcastle via metro and bus is good. Formula one hotel was it's old name ( french I think) basic but dated.

You won't get any cheaper for a room for the night, great if you drive as 10mins to city centre, only negative is mattresses aren't very comfortable. But for the price you cant complain

I stayed here with my friend for the weekend as we were attending a concert in Sunderland. The staff were very friendly, room was clean as were the facilities. The location was also perfect as only 12 minute walk to the metro where you can explore Newcastle and surrounding areas.

When I booked this hotel, I did not realise that the toilet and shower facilities were located outside the room. On arrival, the entrance looked very dirty and there was a very strong unpleasant odour throughout the area. I tried to use the toilet and found faeces already in it, which was extremely unhygienic and very distressing. Because of the condition of the facilities, I was unable to use the shower and ended up leaving the hotel without having a shower at all. As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, this was a very upsetting experience. Unfortunately, I can honestly say it was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness, hygiene standards, and overall condition of the property. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.
