The hotel was very clean old, but that made it special. It was nice to just walk out and be in the center of all the shopping and the outdoor market. The front desk staff one person in particular was very rude most of the time. Parking was not available and so that made it difficult.

A great location in Munich! This hotel was quietly tucked away, but right next to big attractions in Munich. It was difficult to access by car, so if you're doing tours where the cars need to pick you up, you may want somewhere that's more accessible.

This property was noisy, lacked air conditioning, had very poor furniture, institutional decor, and a shower that was hazardous to get out of. Very low value for the cost. Staff when we arrived was rude and offered no information about the area. Staff at breakfast the next morning was nice enough. Local parking is 40eu/day. Stay further out and use the subway.

Very clean hotel and excellent location as far as walk ability but if you’re driving it may present a challenge. The person that was working at night must have not known to tell us that we could drive into their square to drop off luggage and he told us that we needed to park down the street and bring luggage with us. That was quite a haul with 4 pieces of luggage. The morning staff advised us to drive into the pedestrian only square to pick up our luggage. Much more convenient.

The hotel was quaint, clean and in a great location. The front desk staff was rude and not helpful. He waved his hands at me in impatience when I had trouble opening the door. My leg was in a walking boot and he didn’t even get up to help me get in. Then later that day the elevator broke and my room was on the third floor. He never apologized for the inconvenience. Because of his attitude I would not recommend this hotel.

Fantastiskt läge på detta enkla men bekväma hotell. Mysigt litet torg precis utanför med 4 restauranger och den stora viktulienmarkt runt hörnet. Vi bodde i ett hörnrum(rum 302) och det var väldigt rymligt,saknade dock en liten sittgrupp el liknade så man hade något annat än sängen att sitta i. Sängen var väldigt hård i min smak. Frukosten får man betala extra för och man får välja från en liten meny,helt ok men inte mer.

I've seen some comment about rooms being small. The nature of the building somewhat dictates this, and for a single, mine was absolutely fine. The same goes for the small lift - you'd struggle to fit a bigger one in, so be patient! There's obviously been a refurbishment, which I liked, and the staff were great. I didn't have the breakfast, so can't comment on that. The location is great, right in the heart of the Alte Stadt, with many key spots within walking distance. The market itself is fantastic, too (be prepared at the beer stall and a couple of the coffee places for cash only transactions). There are some potential downsides - no fridge or kettle in the room - but neither of these bothered me. A double set of windows meant that personally I didn't find things noisy. I will certainly return to this hotel next time I'm in Munich.

A nice boutique hotel in the center of Munich. Easily walkable to most all of the main attractions and shopping. The adjacent market was really cool! Breakfast at the onsite restaurant was good as well.

Great location, but the photos make the hotel look a lot nicer and cleaner than it is. Its a bit dated, walls are fairly scuffed up. No AC. Quite loud outside the hotel. And the walls between rooms are paper thin. But otherwise, the beds and bathroom were clean and comfy, and in a great spot.

The property is in a great location but it is run down. We arrived and had no toilet paper in our room and the trash can had dirty face wipes in it. The walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING in the next room. The staff were nice but we didn’t have much interaction with them. As I said, the property is in a great location but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a four star or plus hotel.

Our room was fine for one night, we could hear the dumping of glass? Bottles before bed. The room was clean but very small, reminded us of a dorm room. It would have been hard to stay for more than 1 night, not enough room to “live in” no place to store clothes. No view. But very clean and functional for a night.

We love the location of this hotel, it was perfect, walkable to all the places we wanted to see and easy to get to the train station or get a taxi or Uber. The staff was not as helpful as we would hope, they did not speak English or even tried to make any conversation. The bathroom shower floor was VERY slippery and we did tell them, but they didn't have anything to say on that. The bed was comfortable, overall, we enjoyed the area very much and the hotel's location was great!

Hotel Am Markt is a simple and well designed hotel. The rooms are very large and well appointed for Europe. Our room was on the first floor facing a street, but it was still very quiet. Comfy bed, nice shower, lots of storage...everything you need from a hotel room. The location near Marienplatz and lots of shopping and dining options was perfect. And breakfast in the morning was delightful as well.

Best thing about this place is location. Central and walking distance to everything. There is no minibar or even a kettle to boil water to make a tea or coffee in the morning. They provided water bottles each day in the room only. Only Thing I would suggest is for them to have kettles or coffee machine inside the rooms. Service isn’t bad or good they kinda just there if you need them at reception.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Am Markt! Allen at the front desk was so helpful and personable. The hotel is perfectly situated to the major sites and experiences in Munich. There are so many wonderful restaurants, bars, shopping ad markets in 2-5 minute walking distance. I have already booked my next trip for Oktoberfest here. I would highly recommend this to all travellers of every age. For solo female traveler, this is a safe and convenient location. Wishing all of you safe and happy travels. Prost!!!

There are so many wonderful restaurants, bars, shopping ad markets in 2-5 minute walking distance. I have already booked my next trip for Oktoberfest here. The desk agent did not know any English which made it very difficult to communicate upon our arrival, especially when I was being presented with two rooms for the same night. The single rooms were extremely small, but the bathroom was very nice!

After staying a bit north of town for Oktoberfest, we booked one night for two friends at this hotel in the center of downtown. A perfectly charming space and the front desk clerk went out of his way to give us a room with a third bed (we booked two single beds) because there was a third friend spending the afternoon with us before catching a train out of the city. Spectacular service and location, would give more stars if I could.

A great location in Munich! This hotel was quietly tucked away, but right next to big attractions in Munich. It was difficult to access by car, so if you're doing tours where the cars need to pick you up, you may want somewhere that's more accessible.

Was right in the center of the market and easy to get to public transportation. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was nicely updated and well stocked.

The location of the hotel which is on the edge of the Vikualienmarkt is ideal for being able to see all the major sites within the Old Town area of Munich by foot. Even the furthest of them was only around 30mins walk. There are also numerous good places to eat and drink nearby. The hotel staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The only issue we had was our electronic room key kept not working over the first two days but this was eventually sorted out and for the rest of the time was fine. Can be a bit noisy late at night as there are a few bars close by. Also be warned that the church bells start at 7am. We would still use this hotel again should we go back to Munich.

Had a great stay at Hotel am Markt in Munich. Very close walk to both Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt. Also Deutschets Museum is an easy walk from this location. Friendly and wonderful staff. If you travel to Munich, you can't go wrong with this hotel!

My husband I stayed for three nights on our first time in Munich. Location couldn’t be better. We loved being so close to Marienplatz but yet in a quiet little street. Got off the subway and walked less than 5 minutes to hotel. Super clean and quiet. Room was small but perfect for our needs. Will definitely come back if ever in Munich again.

Fantastiskt läge på detta enkla men bekväma hotell. Mysigt litet torg precis utanför med 4 restauranger och den stora viktulienmarkt runt hörnet. Vi bodde i ett hörnrum(rum 302) och det var väldigt rymligt,saknade dock en liten sittgrupp el liknade så man hade något annat än sängen att sitta i. Sängen var väldigt hård i min smak. Frukosten får man betala extra för och man får välja från en liten meny,helt ok men inte mer.

Hotel Am Markt is a simple and well designed hotel. The rooms are very large and well appointed for Europe. Our room was on the first floor facing a street, but it was still very quiet. Comfy bed, nice shower, lots of storage...everything you need from a hotel room. The location near Marienplatz and lots of shopping and dining options was perfect. And breakfast in the morning was delightful as well.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis der reinen Unterbringung stimmte; für München sehr ruhig, zentrale Lage am Viktualienmarkt ist einzigartig. Personal ist freundlich und hilfreich. Habe aber ein Zimmertelefon vermisst, so dass ich bei Fragen und Bestellungen an die Rezeption musste. Frühstück musste lm voraus teuer (13,50) dazugebucht werden und die Auswahl war dürftig. Es wurde in drei Kategorien an den Tisch gebracht (vollendete Tatsache, nur das Getränk war zu wählen) mit Lebensmitteln, die ich stehen ließ (z.B. Nutella, was ich nicht mag) und übersüßten Marmeladen. Eine Selbstwahl am Buffett hätte ich besser gefunden. Da ich Früherwacher (05 Uhr) bin und unter Unterzuckerattacken leide, war die übliche Öffnungszeit des Speiseraums für mich quälend. Ich vermisste einen zugänglichen Kaffeeautomat mit Zucker. Dennoch: Hotel empfehlenswert für sparsame Menschen, die viel in München erledigen wollen/müssen und Hotelkomfort zweitrangig erachten.

A nice boutique hotel in the center of Munich. Easily walkable to most all of the main attractions and shopping. The adjacent market was really cool! Breakfast at the onsite restaurant was good as well.

The hotel was very clean, and the location was excellent. The staff were a bit reserved—I found myself greeting them first most of the time. If you value practicality and a great location over warm service, it’s a good choice.

Ingen airconditioner på rommet. Dvs. at vinduet måtte være åpen hele tiden. Støyete bakgård på deler av natten og morgenen. Vanskelig å sove uten plugger i ørene. Ellers var det ett hotell som var nært til alt, så det var veldig bra!

We loved our little room at this perfected situated hotel. Just a 2-min walk to the Marienplatz and close in proximity to dining and history! The hotel staff was very courteous and very helpful in securing taxis and providing us with local information. Our room was small but had excellent space for clothing and places to keep our belongings. If and when I return to Munich, I would most definitely check in to Hotel Am Market again.
