While the building is older it is very well attended and very pleasant. Great air con beautiful spacious bathroom and comfortable bed. Mateo at the desk was very helpful but poor fuy was so busy in the morning they could probably use with one more staff to help. The elevator at entrance for suitcase doesnt work well and its very inconvenient having to walk up w heavy suitcases. Worth looking into as it was the only negative part of my stay. Also the 2 ladies at the bistro bar were delightful and very helpful with directions etc.

We loved the location of the hotel so many charming restaurants and shopping nearby and we really enjoyed the town too. Great shuttle to the cruise ship the next day.

Hotel was old. Not refurbished or updated at all. That said it was convenient, walkable to Civitchia and served the purpose. Also, no elevator to get up to lobby area. Small elevator working for luggage only!

This property on Expedia shows opulence, grandeur. Not even close. Carpets badly stained, room outdated, walls damaged. Not as advertised. No pool, no beach club. Very musty smelling. I would not recommend this hotel. DO NOT waste your money.

Hotel is nice enough, but be aware, there is NO POOL on site or off site. Front desk had no idea why pool is listed as an amenity.

Property was as expected, it was clean and good, the only complete disaster was we paid for the shuttle to the cruise port (thought it might be raining instead of walking), it's completely disorganized, our shuttle was to leave at 10:30, our check in on the ship was 11:30, there were people standing all around, by 11:00, still wasn't loaded up, so we caught a cab. Strongly suggest you take a cab and not the shuttle.

Interesting and unique hotel. Very convenient to cruise port in Civitivecchia. Very ornate lobby. The hotel lobby is NOT accessible. One has to climb a very lengthy steep staircase. There is an elevator for luggage but not for guests. Our room had a beautiful view. However, there was no kettle or coffee maker. When i asked about this, was told thst each room had different amenities. I would have preferred a coffee maker to the view. Also, our Air conditioner and several electrical outlets did NOT work. I spoke several times to the front desk staff about this on the evening we checked in. The desk clerk had no idea how to resolve the issue and stated there was no one there to check or fix it. As there was no A C I did not sleep well. The next morning when i went to use the hair dryer after washing my hair in the shower and neither the hotel hair dryer or my own would work in the bathroom electrical outlet or one near the bathroom, I called to COMPLAIN !!! I was furious. The same useless clerk as before came to our room. He didn’t have a clue as to how to resolve the problem. This was now a crisis !! I had to DEMAND that something be done IMMEDIATELY as I needed to blow dry my hair. He called a person from house keeping. A lovely young lady came. She immediately knew what the problem was. There was an electrical breaker switch that needed to be reset. Once she did this, all the electrical outlets worked. Both the Hair dryer and the Air Conditioner worked.

Very comfortable bed after a long travel day! Lots of great places to walk to for dinner or drinks. We took their shuttle from the airport - great communication and a very friendly, helpful and courteous driver. Will definitely stay there again!

If you need a place to stay short term in civitavecchia this is an excellent choice. The hotel is conveniently located in the town . The property is immaculate. The staff is extremely helpful . The rooms are clean. The price is reasonable. The area is convenient to restaurants,shopping and the rocky beach. The area is safe to walk.

Arrived early. Left my bag and came back at chech in time. The bag was brought to my room. Room was clean. Great sleep after a long travel day. Perfect start to day with a good breakfast and a cappuccino. The hostess was couteous and friendly. The desk staff here is excellent. Always stay here before a cruise.

The room felt dirty. Big brown something on the carpet as soon as you walked in. Floor in bathroom was not cleaned. Black ??? Around shower. Overall the room was not cleaned. Elevator was disguising. Filthy! I will not be going back. Staff was very nice.

Our shower had mould and was not very clean. The air conditioner did not work and it was HOT. We had a long trip the day before and didn’t get down for breakfast until 8:45, breakfast was from 7-9. We barely had time for coffee and toast and the girl came in and away all the food. Yes…our fault for being late after a horrible night in a non air conditioned room where the windows don’t open. But they didn’t hesitate to demand the €10 breakfast cost for a coffee and a slice of toast. The property is conveniently located near the town centre and the waterfront and a short walk to the cruise port.

Good hotel that’s within walking distance to train station and in close proximity to port Was a little disappointed that our our room had lots of stairs to get to bed (would have been nice to know as I have some mobility issues )

The room I had was 2 story and the bathroom eas downstairs. Transversing that during the night was challenging not to fall. The room was extremely hot and I turned the air down to the lowest setting. It got cool after 4 to 6 hours but then it would shut off. Bring a travel fan. Only 1 American outlet and it was in the bathroom.

The room was super, clean. The staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to work out a problem with a tour I tried to book. I was disappointed there was a loud nightclub behind hotel. Very loud at night.

Look elsewhere! This hotel is tired in every way - furniture, carpet, paint, showers, etc. Beyond that, we had to climb up and down an open staircase to get to the bed from the bathroom. Suboptimal if you have an aging bladder. We stayed here for one night prior to our cruise departure thinking we were checking into a 4-star hotel. It’s 2 stars at best.

Elevator smelled horrible!!! Carpet did not fit and was clearly molded. Original room assignment was 2 floors with a metal spiral staircase. Carpet was in terrible condition and appeared dirty and faded. Bedroom was inconvenient and horribly hot. Furniture was too large for the room and you could not access the bed on one side. While I am handicapped I don’t need an accessible room but I could not navigate the staircase. We changed our room and everything was better. Newer carpet, no odor and on one floor. Breakfast was expensive at 10 euro each. Coffee was warm at best and the food selection poor. Basics only. However when you are in an unfamiliar country with not much around you take what you can get. Wait staff seemed short handed. After spending the day in Rome we stopped in the restaurant for ice cream which was advertised on the sign outside the hotel. After 20 minutes with no one coming to the table we left. The online pictures make the hotel seem far more grand than it is and all in all it was disappointing. Yes, we knew it was and old structure but did not expect what we received for something considered a 5-Star. I think it all depends where you are standing in the world as to the rating. We survived but would not recommend. The day we left for the ship there was yet another additional rather large fee. I can understand the lack of free shuttle service from the Rome airport, well over $100, but the shuttle to the ship should have been included in the stay.

The room was fine. At midnight the hotel had issues with key pads. Front desk came into our room without annoucing themselves and took our key card out of holder by door. A few minutes later they came back and gave us a key with no explanation. About 20 minutes after it happened I went to front desk and asked for an explanation. They appeared to not understand why I was asking questions and that the simple answer was that we now had a key and were safe. I still didnt feel safe. Husband and I put a chair in front of door in the case someone also tried to enter. Not the best sleep before going on a cruise.

The staff here is absolutely outstanding. Philippo, Matte, and Matteo were extremely polite, efficient, and helpful. Matte (Matilda) went out of her way to make everything comfortable and working well. She was one of the "best ever" hosts.This is a perfect place for a pre-cruise stay or any stay in Civitavecchia.

We were really saved by the staff of the hotel. We left our bag in the back of a cab when we left the hotel. The Front Desk people were notified by the cab company. The desk made a number of attempts to contact. When we realized what was missing I immediately called the desk at the hotel. They had already sent a staff member to the port to deliver our bag. It reunited with us wishing an hour of realization it was missing. The lady mgr was very helpful in getting us transportation to the port that morning. Perfect location to the central city shopping and restaurants. Thank you

Do not take the shuttle service from fco to the hotel even if the price is less than other provider. Our flight landed at 5:20pm and we had a pick-up at 7:45pm which is not bad since it gives time to eat, collect luggages etc but then we had to wait up to 8:30 pm because the driver had to pick a seafarer and had no clue of the name of time of the flight. We made a reservation ten months in advance. Less than a week prior to our reserved stay, we were informed by the hotel that they were overbooked. We were given an option to cancel or stay at a 'resort' of their choice that was 10 miles further out from the cruise port. The 'resort' they chose was very rustic and we were treated very well.

Property was as expected, it was clean and good, the only complete disaster was we paid for the shuttle to the cruise port (thought it might be raining instead of walking), it's completely disorganized, our shuttle was to leave at 10:30, our check in on the ship was 11:30, there were people standing all around, by 11:00, still wasn't loaded up, so we caught a cab. Strongly suggest you take a cab and not the shuttle.

I and several other couples who booked through Expedia had our reservations cancelled based on "booking glitch" the hotel claimed. The hotel put us in another "4 star" hotel which was a zero star hell whole. It was in the boonies with nothing around it. The only saving grace for the Hotel San Gregio us they did pick us up and bring us to our cruise ship. All us couples booked over 6 months ago, and we were only notified the day before check in that we had no reservation. We prepaid $180 euros and the alternate hotel was listed that day for $86. Somebody owes me money.

We booked transfers from the airport to the hotel directly through their website and our bank was charged. The hotel maintained that they had no record of our booking and would not acknowledge proof to their face that the money had been paid and we should take it up with our bank. So we had to make yet another transfer with another transfer company to get to the hotel . Not cool and not professionally handled.

We stayed here before our cruise. It has a great location and is clean, comfy, and the staff were really helpful and pleasant. Restaurants and the sea were right outside the door. It’s a hike from the train station and you’ll need a ride to the cruise ship pier for sure. Overall it’s a great place to stay. It’s not luxury, but it’s perfectly fine.

Very helpful front desk, We got in from Rome at 10:00 at night restaurants closed/closing , he called a local one minute walk restaurant and begged them to cook us a plate of pasta! Mezzo litro di vino and a plate of Bolognese fettuccine was the perfect ending to the day!!! This hotel is walking distance to train, and center! Yes yes yes reserve your shuttle to crew ship early or take the taxi for $20-$30 euro

The staff is so friendly, they made us feel very welcomed. The breakfast offering was a great deal for the price. They had a few American foods for breakfast such as eggs and bacon but the entire buffet was great. They make great cappuccino as well. We also had a wonderful dinner at the Bistro.

Elevator smelled horrible!!! Carpet did not fit and was clearly molded. Original room assignment was 2 floors with a metal spiral staircase. Carpet was in terrible condition and appeared dirty and faded. Bedroom was inconvenient and horribly hot. Furniture was too large for the room and you could not access the bed on one side. While I am handicapped I don’t need an accessible room but I could not navigate the staircase. We changed our room and everything was better. Newer carpet, no odor and on one floor. Breakfast was expensive at 10 euro each. Coffee was warm at best and the food selection poor. Basics only. However when you are in an unfamiliar country with not much around you take what you can get. Wait staff seemed short handed. After spending the day in Rome we stopped in the restaurant for ice cream which was advertised on the sign outside the hotel. After 20 minutes with no one coming to the table we left. The online pictures make the hotel seem far more grand than it is and all in all it was disappointing. Yes, we knew it was and old structure but did not expect what we received for something considered a 5-Star. I think it all depends where you are standing in the world as to the rating. We survived but would not recommend. The day we left for the ship there was yet another additional rather large fee. I can understand the lack of free shuttle service from the Rome airport, well over $100, but the shuttle to the ship should have been included in the stay.

Arrived early. Left my bag and came back at chech in time. The bag was brought to my room. Room was clean. Great sleep after a long travel day. Perfect start to day with a good breakfast and a cappuccino. The hostess was couteous and friendly. The desk staff here is excellent. Always stay here before a cruise.

Breakfast was less than **. There had been some scrambled eggs but they would not refill and there was more than an hour before the end of the breakfast time. The one pitcher of coffee was cold, though you could request a cappuccino. The carpet in our room was badly stained.

It is a very nice Hotel and I liked it. I was disappointed with the Restaurant and the Bar. The drinks are pricy (12 euros) and they did not have Beer. I only wanted a Beer because of walking around for a couple of hours and was thirsty. I went about 100 yards down the street and Beer and Wine was 5 euros each and my wife and I had found a watering hole. The Hotel did help me with transportation from the Rome Airport to the Hotel. The driver was timely and the trip was very good.

Great location on the promenade and very close to the cruise terminal. Several restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. Breakfast was very basic so would use a local restaurant next time. We used the hotel’s shuttle to then cruise terminal. It was expensive at €17.50 each for less than 5 minute drive so would recommend using a local taxi instead

The staff at Hotel San Giorgio are wonderful and very helpful. The struggle for my husband and I was within the room. It was incredibly hot in August, so the air conditioning was just unable to keep the room reasonably cool. This is pretty typical of air conditioning everywhere in Italy. The mattress in our particular room could stand to be replaced, but again, you have to balance the helpfulness of the staff with a few things that could be improved. They also offer a shuttle to and from the port, so that's another benefit. We ate in the restaurant several times, and the food was good.
