Wingate by Wyndham Baltimore BWI Airport

staff was fine, room and breakfast adequate. the problem is the lobby and the hallway smell like pot. Not a little. A lot! As other reviews have said, this hotel is not enforcing its no-smoking rule, to the detriment of non-user experience. As also reported by others, the elevator signal lights do not work both and out -- it will fail its next inspection. We will not return.

No COLD water in my room as the bathroom sink only had hot water, no wifi, bed base clunked badly with ANY bed movement (like sitting down, standing up, rolling), only 1 of the 3 elevators worked, some doors in the building were torn up and in need of replacement, it's very obvious that the owners put ZERO dollars into the upkeep of this building.

First and last time at this property. The public areas were worn, elevator call buttons busted- literally, cigarette smoke smell on fifth floor, noisy neighbor- TV blaring still at midnight. Called front desk- gave us option to suck it up or move to another room. We chose other room- at our inconvenience. No sympathy during conversation but a quiet sorry for your experience once we turned in keys to first room. Fourth floor was much nicer aroma- clean and fresh- but noisy air handler in the room. No sleep for us this stay. Shuttle driver was not prompt - was scheduled for a certain time- 10 mins late, then proceeded to pass by the airline we requested a stop at. Hoping calling for the shuttle when we return will not be another debacle.

Mold in shower, broken elevators and elevator lights, toilet runs, outside security doors do not lock, poor television reception.

Great place to stay when traveling. Great location and shuttle service to BWI.

The hotel was clean & quiet. We were able to park out car for a reasonable price and free transport to and from the airport!

Easy check in process, rooms were clean and breakfast was tasty. My only criticism would be parking was difficult and only one elevator worked. Overall would stay again!

our stay was fine but I'd like to point out there is an issue with the elevators. I wound up walking down twice from the fifth floor. Pushing the button to call for the elevator didn't seem to work and the left elevator didn't work at all. Otherwise our stay was fine

The wear and tear was very obvious leaking ice machine leaving puddles of water and the PARKING is atrocious and unacceptable. It's makes the stay there unbearable. I'll never book here again.

This was my second stay here. The first was much better than this one. Last year, they didn't charge me for parking because I had been a guest at the hotel. This year, they charged me $8/day. I wouldn't have minded, and I understand it's reasonable, but it was just unexpected. I was on the 5th floor, which reeked of skunkweed. Also, that evening, when I went to the vending machines, I slipped on some water leaking from the ice machine. I could have gotten badly hurt. Also, my vending selection failed to fall out, so I had to put two more dollars in so the product behind the one I purchased would force my selection to fall out. So, $4 for the candy bar I wanted. :( The ladies at the front desk just seemed stressed and unfriendly. The coffee wasn't to my liking, but I admit I'm a bit of a coffee snob. Thankfully, there's a Starbucks nearby! My room was comfortable, but they failed to remove the trash from the previous occupant, which kind of grossed me out. It was just a big ball of someone's hair from the cleaning of a hairbrush. Wingate sounds like it's going to be upscale, but it was definitely more run-of-the-mill. The stink from the smoking of marijuana was the worst part. There are no smoking signs and threats of hefty fees, but it doesn't seem enforced.

Staff at check in looked bothered to deal with us. She was wearing a mask and speaking very softly making me have to continually ask her to speak up and repeat herself. The room we were put in had clusters of live bugs on the walls. We were put into a different room. It was run down and looked dirty. The hallways smelled of marijuana and/or musty mildew. There were stains on the furniture. The elevator button had to be pressed at least 5 times before it would move. There was plaster peeling off the walls. The washcloths were stained and the towels had clumps of hair on them. The only thing that was adequate was the water pressure in the shower. I will not ever stay again nor recommend this hotel.

The front desk clerk was warm and welcoming. My room was great - clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was tasty.

Horrible hotel. Dirty and needs to be renovated

This place is in sad shape and not worth what I paid. Hairy mold growing in the carpet, on the chair, and headboards. Tub didn’t drain. A/C couldn’t keep up/very loud. Vending and ice machines out of order and took my money without vending soda.

We enjoyed our visit to the hotel. It was very clean, comfortable, and everything was as expected for our stay. It's always a treat when you enter a well put together room as this was.

The shower smelt like piss because of the mildew. The shower head leaks so bad you can visually see the mold growing along every corner.

Me and my fiance originally booked 3 nights we left after 2 the air quality was extremely poor and made my breathing bad. My fiance could smell mildew all night making him feel ill. We found dead bugs all over the ac unit and the bathroom. And the hallways reeked of weed. Needless to say after i became more ill, we opted to leave a day early instead of suffering through another night. Would not recommend and never staying there again.

There was a roach at the check in desk. The caulking around the tub was filled with mold/Mildred. The tub had so many colors from dirt. The mattresses were disintegrating and can be seen because there were no mattress covers and the sheets were too small To cover the mattresses (2-queen beds) there was a funky smell in the room. The clerk at check in informed us if there were any issues tk let her know. These are not issues that can be fixed instantly, the rooms are dated and needs to be updated. Not enough towels, lotions and shampoos in the room, Oks, outdated AC/Heating system. I should get my $ back just. Very run down hotel. Not the Wyndham brand I know.

Stay was fine but WiFi didn’t work…to tired to care and left to early to worry about

Parking at this hotel is free, which is a good thing these days. The hotels condition needs a bit of a redo, elevators old , hallway carpets have seen better days, the room is outdated, but clean, the hotel area is very close to airport so no restaurants anywhere near, one little place next to hotel to walk over and get something to eat.

Hotel seems very run down and in need of work. The staff was very friendly. The ceiling of the bathroom had paint chipping and falling apart. Only 1 working elevator and the panel inside was held together by electrical tape and none of the lights worked. About half the outdoor lighting was burned out. The side doors that require your room key for entry were left open all day and night so anyone could enter. The pillows on the bed are tiny squares so no full pillows. I was there 3 days, 2 nights and housekeeping never touched my room. All in all while the staff is friendly and the bed comfortable, this hotel needs some TLC and a major face lift.

Internet connection was very poor. I complained to the staf and he said it is working for him in the lobby. But that doesn't mean it will work in the rooms. He never tired to check or to consider the issue. He shake his shoulder that is it. Other than that, the location is convenient. The room is clean.

Very outdated room. King suite seemed to be made from an old regular room and a closet put together. Very odd setup. No tv in sitting area but had a projector screen-why? Fridge was not cold and freezer has spilled rice in it. Bed was horrible and breakfast was just sad. Staff was very polite though. Hard to find parking. We visit area twice a year and this was a last minute trip so we had to take what we could get. Not again.

The property was in a safe and quiet location. There food options sich as Royal Farms, known for the delicious fried chicken and potatoe wedges, chic fila and other restaurants. There’s transportation to the airport and the convenience of having breakfast at the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. I would go back again!

I recently stayed at the Wingate for my business travel. The hotel is older but very clean, with lots of rooms. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. I had a microwave and refrigerator in my room. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. They have a free shuttle that I used to get to the Amtrak station (as well as the airport and parking lots), as I had two days of seminars/meetings in CT. While leaving my personal vehicle at the hotel till I returned. The parking fee was less expensive than the Amtrak or airport parking. They offer breakfast with your stay, and it was very lovely; the food was good and a nice array of items.

Dirty and horrific front office staff. Acted like I bothered them when asking for a wake-up call. Which they don’t do. Damage in the room. I will never go there again

The staff (front desk) was not attentive in the check-in process. As a wyndham timeshare owner, I will not be coming back or rebooking at that location.

I waited a long time to check in. It was after midnight and I followed another guest in to the facility, after 5 minutes of waiting for service to be checked in, I began calling the phone number and it rang for greater than 7minutes before I hung up. Finally, each of us was on our way but not before the clerk had made the assumption that we were together. A very long wait after a long night. Frustrating.

Nice hotel with great location, clean and quiet with decent breakfast. Check-on was confusing as we were given a room that was already occupied. A guest was surprised when the door opened. The front desk resolved this and gave us another room. It would have been crowded in the first one.

Everything was fantastic except the deceptive, rude shuttle driver. Front desk staff was fantastic, rooms were good, everything was fine. But when I arrived back on July 16 6 am, I called the shuttle at 6:10 am. The lady answered and said she won't come until 6:30 am for a pickup. At 6:40 am, I called her to make sure she didn't miss us, and I knew the shuttle on the way took like 6 minutes max. She said 10 more minutes. At 6:55am, I called again, I was told another 10 minutes by this lady. She stops answering. We say screw it, guess we will just get an uber to go 1.5 miles because the shuttle driver is incompetent. We pay $10 for an uber because of your shuttle. We receive a call from another shuttle at 7:08 am, a man this time. So your driver really just held us off "10 more minutes" didn't come pick us up after a red eye flight, lied about coming at 6:30, then gets off her shift. Wow, just wow. At least tell us you're not coming so we can get an uber sooner and get our car. Don't lie for an hour so we sit and wait, hungry and tired. Will never use this hotel chain again after this. It's so easy to be a bare minimum decent shuttle driver.

The hotel was fine but we chose it because they had 24 hour shuttle service to the airport. When I checked in I told the receptionist we needed a shuttle ride at 430 am. When we came down at 430 we were told that the shuttle was full and we had reservations for 4 am which simply wasn’t true. We had to take Lyft to the airport

I liked the breakfast options. I didn't like the look of the common areas.

Our room was clean and the staff was friendly. The beds could use replacing or memory foam toppers as you could feel the springs making sleeping very uncomfortable (along with the flat pillows). Breakfast has a lot to be desired. One working waffle maker with strawberry batter (no plain batter) was incredibly inefficient for the crowd and the flavor was terrible. The powdered eggs were also horrible. The front desk staff when we checked in was very nice and the elevator was fast.

Enjoyed the room and the building. Centrally located near shopping and highways. Night time staff (Asian girl) could have been a little more polite. Breakfast menu could have been upgraded. Eggs tasted like they were from a box and the sausage wasn't much better either.

Cleaning could be better. Breakfast only until 9am, even on weekends. Should have breakfast until 10 on weekends. Staff was very friendly.

Our stay was fine. Disappointed that weekend breakfast ended at 9 instead of 10. The bed wasn’t terribly comfortable and the pillows are a bit lumpy. Didn’t care for the “barn” door on the bathroom, but it wasn’t horrible-just difficult to open and close. But the room was clean and served our purposes.
