Two night stay in the accessable room. Greeted by a very friendly receptionist. The room was spacious and clean with plenty of room for my wheelchair. Best of all the bathroom is a wet room which despite a little wear and tear was well set out and very easy to use. Breakfast is included and was good quality and plentiful. The location is a bit of a backstreet but was very quiet and parking isn't an issue. Overall excellent value and I will be using again..

Walking distance to a secure car park, although i have to pay for it since it's in town centre. Carpet needs a bit freshening up, but clean bathroom. Shops, bars and restaurants accessible. Breakfast starts at 7 but the staffs let me have milk for my cereals and offered me toast earlier since i have to leave at 7. Definitely, i will book the hotel again in the future.

The staff here were lovely couldn’t do enough for you. Rooms were clean. There isn’t a lot of parking on site but there is a pay & display across the road.

Very nice staff but the hotel is of extreeme poor standards. The rooms were sort of clean but carpets were very dirty. We had 2 rooms, 1 of standard room-size and 1 smaller than a closet. Breakfast options were small and we got offered just coffee or juice. Not both so we hade to decide. Everything about this hotel itself, the surroundings, the breakfast etc was so bad that se decided to leave the hotel after just 1 night allthough we had prepaid for 2 nights. Only positive to say about this hotel is the kind staff, but my recommendation is to avoid this hotel. I can’t believe how this hotel has the approval to be in the Best Western hotelgroup.

Difficult to fault this place for the money paid. Rooms are spotlessly clean, if a little dated. Staff are very friendly and helpful and allowed us to store our bikes in the room for a bike park Wales trip the following day. Good breakfast for all. Would definitely recommend and would stay again

The staff at this hotel was friendly and very helpful and polite especially Tristan who went out of his way to get me out of trouble as I turned up a day early The outside of the building looks very shabby and needs cleaning up and weeding The hotel itself would be ideal for contractors The walls between rooms are stud partitions and you can hear what next room is talking about the breakfast is plentiful and delicious would recommend and Susan such a happy soul and very obliging nothing is any trouble well done staff

Stayed for 2 nights.The bathroom floor was dirty and carpeet dirty which i would put up with because it is a budget hotel.Breakfast first today was good service from young boy very good no bacon but they give me an extra sausage.Breakfast on second was a shambles an hour to get my food. First we were served after other people arrived.EVEN 2 locals that came for breakfast had it before.The waitrose made a mistake on order and baught an omelete insteadof cooked breakfast which i wish i had because i had to wait 15 more mins for and when it arrived the egg was black .Defnitely wouldnt come back they didnt seem to know what they were doing.

The staff were lovely and friendly. What let the whole thing down was that the dining room didn't have any food and our room stank of drains and dirty water. It was so bad we went home a day early as it was making me sick

Very nice hotel inside, needs some maintenance on the outside. Nice size rooms and big bathroom, cleaned and fresh towels daily. Tea/coffe fatalities and very helpful if more milk is needed. The corners on the bed base are very sharp, left me bruised as the bed is quite close the wall so not much space to walk round. Breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked and very quick. Very friendly staff and welcoming.

Cosmetically inside and out it needs a bit of TLC, but I was met with a lovely welcome, my room was clean, bed really comfy and the breakfast superb. If you can see past the look of the place then it’s a great budget hotel.

Hi, I'd like to suggest some simple improvements that would help to improve the stay massively: 1.) WiFi passwords should be displayed in every room. 2.) Radiator functions should be checked so that they are easy to turn on. 3.) Carpet needs to be changed, you can tell it is old. 4.) I have a seat but no desk. I came for a business stay and had to manage with a tiny side table.

Room ok Could hear noise from town or close by road most if night I was staying to do parkrun in Bryn Bach (1 hour walk each way) Check out at 10 not ideal so left my bag then picked it up at 1045 but staff were brilliant they let me have a quick shower

Our room was changed by the hotel shortly after arrival. On arrival we were told that our room rate did not include breakfast. Fortunately we had PRINTED our booking, which confirmed we were entitled to this. In the room that we were moved to one of the bulbs in the main light fitting buzzed loudly and flickered. The wall lights above the bed did not work and the table lamp had a loose wire in the flex, which meant that it only connected if it was moved to a 'good' position! We reported the problems to the reception staff but they were not resolved. They did offer to change our room but, given that we had been moved once already, we decided not to. We will not be returning!

Pretty basic experience - shower not working, luke warm at best, feedback was that when everyone uses it that’s what happen.Not true really as we were not using it at peak time. This should not make a difference and Not the best from a customer point of view when you have come back from a trek soaking wet and the shower is awful.

Room was small bathroom spelt like sewage. TV didnt work. The noise aswell was just ridiculous awake from 5.30am. Shame as we have stayed before and it was great.

not many parking spaces at the hotel but parking available in roads around. Friendly efficient staff, comfortable bed and shower facilities. Walls a bit thin!! couple next door obviously enjoyed their stay!!!! For the price I would'nt expect any more, it served our purpose for a one night stay.

Dan who seems to do anything is superb, nothing too much, friendly and pleasant. Sadly the hotel isn’t, the walls are so thin you hear other guests up to about midnight, anyone near who flushes the loo at night will wake you up, then at 6am you hear grunting, TVs, coughing, nose blowing, farting, showers and toilets

Lovely welcome from Sue who briefed me fully as it was my first time stay. Informed me of the various eating options in the town, though in the morning I enjoyed a whopper of a cooked breakfast - top drawer. Room and bathroom very comfortable, good shower and a very comfortable nights sleep with plenty of pillows. Good parking and access. This will be my go-to overnight stay at the top of the valleys. Thank you Sue.

Excellent for one night stay close the Pen y Fan where i was entered into a race. Staff were excellent and even offered a bacon roll to us as we were leaving before breakfast was started so thanks very much to the young lady who made us these.

Arrived at hotel to find a small narrow car park. Best western taken over hotel 2 weeks ago from level up hotel. No hair dryer in bedroom. Carpet in bedroom was stained. Staff in own clothes. Even the manager serving in a pair of gym shorts and tshirt. Returned from breakfast Saturday morning to knock on door you haven't paid for breakfast even though website said free breakfast. Could of put the breakfast on the room tab and pay on exit. At breakfast no jam, marmalade, pepper. Saturday night 3am fire alarm went off all guests between car park and reception as it was minus 3. One person on night shift. No communication to guests what was going on. No list to check all guests out of rooms. Two guests left the hotel after hour and half. The firm who deals with the alarm informed hotel it was fault on system to disconnect from mains as it take the engineer hour to arrive and the alarm would of been going for 2 hours. Short staffed trying to cover all areas of the hotel not great. Worst best western hotel i have stayed in. Water machine over flowed had to ask for mop and clean it up. No sign to put up wet area. Would not recommend to stay.

Could of put the breakfast on the room tab and pay on exit. At breakfast no jam, marmalade, pepper. Saturday night 3am fire alarm went off all guests between car park and reception as it was minus 3. One person on night shift. No communication to guests what was going on. No list to check all guests out of rooms. Two guests left the hotel after hour and half. The firm who deals with the alarm informed hotel it was fault on system to disconnect from mains as it take the engineer hour to arrive and the alarm would of been going for 2 hours. Short staffed trying to cover all areas of the hotel not great. Worst best western hotel i have stayed in. Water machine over flowed had to ask for mop and clean it up. No sign to put up wet area. Would not recommend to stay.

The hotel itself and stay would have been good if it wasn't for a faulty alarm at 3am and the poor guest experience and management of the situation which last almost an hour. Clearly technology failure but could have been handled more efficiently with guests. The property shows clear signs of age but actually not bad and would stay again.

The things that stood out the most was how incredibly friendly was every staff member in the hotel and how clean the hotel was, my room smelled nice when I arrived. Breakfast was good, it’s a shame that advertised dinner service was not available on neither days off my stay. The Negative point is non existent sound insulation and super loud kids at almost 11pm.

A last minute booking. The receptionist greeted us and was very polite. She actually took us to the room which was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean and comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was really good, i was even allowed to take a plate up to the room for my daughter who did not want to get out of bed. I would definitely stay there again if ever i am in the area.

Extremely frinedly and very helpful staff. Nothing was too much and i felt very well looked after by all members off staff. Very homely feel, and spent more nights here because of this reason. Rooms were modern clean, and the bed was lovely and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to everyone favulous place to stay.

Two night stay in the accessable room. Greeted by a very friendly receptionist. The room was spacious and clean with plenty of room for my wheelchair. Best of all the bathroom is a wet room which despite a little wear and tear was well set out and very easy to use. Breakfast is included and was good quality and plentiful. The location is a bit of a backstreet but was very quiet and parking isn't an issue. Overall excellent value and I will be using again..

The room was a good size and clean. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful. The hotel is not somewhere where you would want to spend a holiday, and is a little awkward to access, but good for overnight travellers wanting a clean, quiet stay.

Walking distance to a secure car park, although i have to pay for it since it's in town centre. Carpet needs a bit freshening up, but clean bathroom. Shops, bars and restaurants accessible. Breakfast starts at 7 but the staffs let me have milk for my cereals and offered me toast earlier since i have to leave at 7. Definitely, i will book the hotel again in the future.

This hotel is well situated for exploring the Brecons. Very reasonably priced. I'm afraid I would have to describe it as sub-Travelodge, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I like Travelodge and economy lodgings. Large room for a triple. Light from the hallway could be seen through the covered glass above the door. Curtains lacked a blackout lining. Emergency lighting in the room glowed. Cooked breakfast was fine. Popular with guests, many had to queue to wait for a table. Meanwhile service was slow at the table due to insufficient staff in the kitchen. Staff on reception and kitchen were fantastic, just more help required in the kitchen to speed things up. Not fair on the 2 of them. Elsewhere I've seen comments that it's difficult to find. Yes it's behind terraced housing, but the satnav will get you there with no problems. Car park is just about big enough. I would stay there again, due to its location and price.

Road access to Inn challenging due to 1-way system, more so after dark with only street lighting (took 30 mins+ of trial and error). Room comfortable but 1 window had loose sealing strip up right-hand-side so road noises intruding in night. And at 01am+ someone arrived at the room next door so we heard all the noise of them showering etc. for the next half-hour. Breakfast average and no-one at Reception asked how our stay had been... we might have told them!

Too expensive . Bathroom new but no dhelfor antislip mat inside tub. Too busy breakfast time. Should have buffet service. To get service took one hour. Bed sheet was too old had roughage bubbles and marks.

Basic hotel, difficult to find. No shelf or hooks in bathroom. Limited hanging space. Walls paper thin and heard other guests having the most horrendous arguments which started during the middle of the night and continued to nearly noon. Cooked breakfast okay but no cereal or fruit. Overpriced at over £170 for 2 nights when the premier inn was a lot less nearby.

The hotel was fine in all ways, but the staff were absolutely superb - so welcoming, friendly, helpful and courteous. It was also an exceptionally good cooked breakfast.

Lovely stay here before we climbed Pen Y Fan. Sue was a wonderful host, friendly and happy. Check in and out was very easy. Comfy beds and a good size bathroom. Breakfast was made to order and we all had omelettes and they were massive and set us up for the day. Lovely hotel, we had no issues at all :)

Stayed for 2 nights.The bathroom floor was dirty and carpeet dirty which i would put up with because it is a budget hotel.Breakfast first today was good service from young boy very good no bacon but they give me an extra sausage.Breakfast on second was a shambles an hour to get my food. First we were served after other people arrived.EVEN 2 locals that came for breakfast had it before.The waitrose made a mistake on order and baught an omelete insteadof cooked breakfast which i wish i had because i had to wait 15 more mins for and when it arrived the egg was black .Defnitely wouldnt come back they didnt seem to know what they were doing.

Very comfy bed and was ideal for what we needed. Was very disappointed with breakfast though paid for large and left it poor quality ingredients and tasted horrible. That was only negative thing really about the stay.

Second time of staying as it's a very convenient location. The staff were very helpful, the only criticism I have is that the walls are very thin and the TV in the room next door was on until 4am, hence very little sleep

The room smelled of sewerage. Staff said there had been issues historically and that new pipe work had been installed. The lovely lady in reception came up, sanitised everything and it was much better. The staff at the hotel were all lovely.

Overall, the check-in and check-out processes were smooth and professional. Check-in was straightforward – I was given a simple form to complete, and everything was handled efficiently. Unfortunately, the stay itself was very disappointing. The room was on the ground floor with windows facing the car park, and it was extremely noisy throughout the evening and much of the night. People were constantly coming and going, making it very difficult to sleep. The main reason for paying for a hotel is to get a good night’s rest, and unfortunately that didn’t happen. Comfort was extremely poor, and I would rate it around 1 out of 10 because we barely slept. The other major issue was the housekeeping. The room had been booked for two people, but there were not enough towels or tea and coffee supplies. We had to go to reception to ask for towels, tea, sugar and other basic refreshments. These are standard amenities that were advertised as part of the room and included in the price, so guests should not have to request them. It was frustrating and inconvenient. These were two significant issues that seriously affected our stay. While the staff at reception were professional, the lack of sleep and the poor housekeeping meant the experience was not enjoyable. Because of this, I would definitely not stay at this hotel again.
