Hotel Jama - Postojna Cave Park

The staff and location of Hotel Jama were excellent. Very convenient to the cave and castle shuttle. We highly recommend to stay there even for a night especially the cave entrance is timed. The breakfast was pretty good too. If you’re a history buff, try the secret room in the hotel.

Auch wenn hier abends und im April nicht viel los ist, war die Bar geöffnet und ich habe ein sehr gutes Nachtessen genossen. Auch die Lage und die Aussicht vom Balkon waren top. In 2 Minuten habe ich an der Rezeption ein für mich optimales Ticket für den Besuch der Sehenswürdigkeiten gekauft. Die Dusche fand ich unpraktisch und gefährlich (rutschig).

Ótima localização para quem vai visitar a caverna de Postojna, que por sinal é imperdível! Sitiado bem ao lado da entrada dela, o hotel conta com bar, restaurante e um excelente café da manhã. O staff é de primeiríssima qualidade, todos muito simpáticos e atenciosos! Quarto amplo, com varanda e vista do rio. Muito bom mesmo.

A 4star hotel that had no restaurant for evening meals yet is located in an isolated area is unacceptable. For 32€ you could have a poor cold buffet with little choice. Staff very helpful and listed restaurants in the town. Very convenient location to the cave. Room cleanliness not high but thats common in big hotels.

J'ai été très déçu par le restaurant, très cher, avec peu de choix, et avec un menu imposé. Il est obligatoire de prendre un menu complet, qui n'est pas forcement très bon, avec par exemple un plat végétarien chaud froid, sans doute mal décongelé ou réchauffé. Egalement, le parking extérieur à 10€, ca fait mal. Etant arrivé assez tard, je ne me suis pas posé la question. Ca ressemble à un attrape touriste!

This hotel is well situated to visit the cave as it is right next door. You get to park for 10 euros during the stay so that’s a plus. Breakfast was fine. However, some minor issues to note. There are no amenities to speak of in the room. No coffee/ tea maker, no tissue, no lotions. The shower drain was clogged but they fixed it. There is no gym, nothing but one restaurant. Seems odd for a 4 star hotel. All the nearby food places close at about 6 and stop serving food even earlier as they cater to the tourists for the cave, you must eat at the restaurant or drive. Would recommend but with the above in mind.

An der Rezeption wurde kein Deutsch gesprochen. Man musste Parkgebühren bezahlen. Ansonsten kann man das Hotel weiterempfehlen. Das Hotel ist Nachts schwer zu finden, da die Beschilderung dunkel gehalten und schlecht beleuchtet ist.

Excelente opção pra quem quer visitar a caverna de Postojna e castelo de Prodjama. Estava vazio quando fui e a recepção fechou as 21:00 HS. Pelo nível do Hotel deveria ter atendimento 24 horas. Estacionamento longe da recepção. Tive dificuldade com as malas.

This hotel shares its property with Postojna Cave which makes it very convenient for spending a day at the cave and its other attractions like the vivarium. The hotel is classy, has clean rooms, and has its own attraction: a tour through secret rooms in the hotel used by spies. This hotel is also only a 30-minute drive from the Skocjan caves.

Surprisingly did not provide sanitary items. Had to ask for soap and shampoo twice

Vi ankom på hotellet og købte billetter i receptionen til grotten inden vi skulle checke ind og det var en rigtig god oplevelse. Da vi kommer på værelset var det ikke ordentligt rengjort og uden udsigt og det rettede receptionen op på Lie med det samme med et nyt værelse med god udsigt, uden problemer. På hotels.com hjemmeside er der et billede af borgen og der står beskrevet på billedet “udsigt fra overnatningsstedet” hvilket er helt forkert da billedet er fra en kaffe bar ved slottet ca 9-10 km. Væk fra hotellet og vi bookede hotellet pga vi troede den havde den udsigt og seværdigheder lige ved hotellet, så meget ærgeligt. Vi blev lidt overrasket over alt nede foran hotellet lukkede så tidligt ca. kl 18 så ingen spise mulighed udover på hotellet, hvilket var noget dyrt og forholdsvis kedelig buffet men et mindre udvalg.

I recommend eating at one of the restaurants close to the castle will be 1/3 of the cost and 100% more enjoyable. Staff wasn’t my friendly. A dirty tablecloth was in change for two days and the area where breakfast was served, possibly even longer. Not worth $900+

Gutes Hotel in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Grotte. Fußboden im Zimmer hätte sauberer sein können. Sehr freundliches Personal. Üppiges Frühstück. Leider schon etwas teuer.

Excellent location, of course, and the hotel was renovated in 2016. The air conditioning couldn’t quite keep up with the summer heatwave of early Jul 2025. Breakfast buffet and amenities were basic at best. Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, we had a room on the top most floor facing the front - amazing view the hills and sunset and reasonably dark skies for star gazing.

Great place, fantastic rooms, very friendly staff. There were a couple of glitches with the front desk which could have been avoided. On departure it wasn’t possible to drive up with the car and we had to bring our luggage without any help to the parking lot. Not too far, but not pleasant to do in the rain.

Very nice hotel with beautiful view and very nice staff. However the air conditioning will not let u put it lower that 21c. Which was wayyyy to hit for us. There also was no sheet only a heavy comforter. So did not get good sleep. Also no shower. Large bathtub with a shower head you have to hold. Also parking is not free. Which was a big disappointment. The breakfast was very nice and staff very polite and helpful for information with tours.

A stunningly gorgeous hotel! Whoever did the design deserves an award. It was clearly designed to be utilitarian, as there was a spot for everything, not just random rooms thrown into a building and then letting guests figure out where to put their belongings. The balcony was spacious, the bathrooms were nearly perfect, although I would have liked a bit more water pressure in the shower, the bed was comfortable with pillows that were not too flat, not too firm. I would without question stay at Hotel Jama again if I am in the region!

A truly one of a kind experience! The hotel is beautiful and the staff were amazing! Very friendly and very helpful! They held our luggage free of charge so we could go enjoy the caves and the castle experiences. A great place to stay!

The hotel has been fitted out very well but this hides some issues around standards of service and amenities. The choice of dinner was awful most places around the hotel close early but we were excited to try the hotel dinner. Unfortunately this was a buffet at 32 euros and the previous reviews have been less than favourable so we gave this a miss. There are some nice restaurants in the town nearby (not many). The first morning we looked forward to the hotel breakfast only to be bitterly disappointed. The breakfast was okay but they put us in an event room at the back despite there being a beautiful terrace, This was due to a convention happening which bumped us down to a back room so the convention could use the nice terrace. We did ask reception about the possibility of sitting on the terrace the next day and also about our air conditioning in the room as it was extremely hot but the staff member was extremely rude, disrespectful and dismissive of us! It was such a shame as all the other staff were lovely. Also a must is the secret rooms it was very well executed and very interesting. For some reason the hotel has not kettle/tea/coffee facilities in the room. Also to do any ironing you have to attend their ironing room…. Very strange setup for a hotel. Overall our experience was ruined by the attitude of one staff member with zero people skills and the hotel was style over substance.

Mooi gelegen hotel, naast de ingang van de grotten. Hotel heeft alles wat het nodig heeft voor een of meer overnachtingen. Wij sliepen op etage 5 (hoogste) en hadden daardoor een mooi uitzicht. Grotten liggen op 3 minuten lopen, maar het is er mega toeristisch. Heb je keus… kies voor andere grotten. Ontbijt is prima, ook niks bijzonders. Avondeten hebben we in het dorp zelf gedaan, is goed te belopen.

Hôtel accolé à la grotte de Postjona, idéal pour coupler visite et repos. Le restaurant le soir est très sympa aussi.

Only negative comment is there are limited dining options within walking distance of hotel after 5 pm. Hotel provides buffet but it seemed fairly expensive. We found a couple good options in Postojna a five minute drive away.

Hotel nuovo e ottimo per visitare le grotte e i dintorni. Migliorerei la colazione, che lascia piuttosto a desiderare come varietà e anche come qualità dei prodotti.
