Really nice and helpful staff. The friendliest I have met during my stay in Catania. And this was the 5th hotel I stayed at because of Etna eruption and cancelled flights. Great location and the comfiest beds I experienced during my stay in Catania as well. Only minus was the traffic from the busy via Etnea street but you will have to take that as everything else was top level.

There is nobody at the hotel after 10pm to help resolve problems. We went out to dinner, and, when we returned, our key cards did not work, so we could not get in our room. It took a stressful two hours for someone from security to drive to the hotel to let us in. We had to make twenty phone calls at international rates, which took ages to get through and then no one spoke English, and they kept putting the phone down on us. Extremely stressful, avoid like the plague!

English: I met most of the staff during my stay, but it was Roberta and Martina who went above and beyond! They called taxis for us, gave us restaurant recommendations and made our stay incredibly relaxing. They always took the time to make a personal connection with us. What a great representation of the beautiful people of Sicily! I highly recommend Smart Hotel. Italian: Ho avuto modo di conoscere gran parte dello staff durante il mio soggiorno, ma sono state Roberta e Martina a distinguersi per la loro straordinaria disponibilità! Hanno chiamato i taxi per noi, ci hanno consigliato ottimi ristoranti e hanno reso il nostro soggiorno estremamente rilassante. Hanno sempre dedicato del tempo per instaurare un rapporto personale con noi. Una splendida rappresentazione della bellezza e dell’ospitalità del popolo siciliano! Consiglio vivamente lo Smart Hotel.

Very clean, conveniently located, new hotel. Got upgraded to deluxe room, which was a plus as well. Staff friendly and helpful.
