Pool warm & open until 10 pm. Room was perfect. Balcony had 2 chairs & table. Tv had a lot of channels & good reception. Staff are wonderful. Love this place.

Staff was extremely helpful! Compared to other places at the beach, definitely appreciated the parking situation (but get there early!) Accessible to Everything. Older hotel but all in all, no complaints at all

Enjoyed our visit. Location is convenient for getting around at beach. Room was clean, but still a retro vibe due to age. Not rundown though, in good shape for its age. Like that it also had laundry to use for convenience.

Comfortable room/bed. Great access to beach in relatively uncrowded area of Virginia Beach. Free electric car charging stations for registered guests. Reasonably priced. But hotel is very dated and is in need of renovation/refresh!

Very clean, right price, parking was easy and lots of spaces to choose from, near beach play place for grandchildren. The only that was somewhat negative is the swimming pool. It’s much smaller than pictures appear and it’s in the very front by main road and cross parking lot.

The staff was very friendly and access to the beach was really convenient. Those were the only positives about our stay. The room we stayed in was not in the best condition. The paint job was horrible, the room wasn’t cleaned well found marks on the wall in the bathroom, there was also dust build up in the bathroom vent. I was nervous some of it would fall on me while I was using the bathroom. There were also some black marks on the bedding.

Loved the view! Nice to be at the end of the beach. Friendly staff. Clean. There was a funky smell in the elevator. The room was nice…there was a strip between the 2 types of flooring that was not covering the seam between the flooring but it didn’t affect our stay in anyway. Just a poor aesthetic.

We basically enjoyed our stay, especially being on the beach and the hot tub, mini kitchen in the room. Everything seemed clean except for the floor. After we got out of the tub I took the floor mat and wiped up the water from walking to the bathroom and the towel was nasty meaning the floor was not clean. The chairs on the balcony was nasty looking as well.

The room was accommodating especially with 2 babies. The floors were filthy. I can’t think of a worse word. Our feet were black! Our socks were black. Not good when little ones playing on the floor.

The rooms are in desperate need of updating - could be cleaner - especially bathrooms - doors need washed down or painted, runners need to be put down in the area leading to the elevators the floor was constantly wet and a fall risk. The coffee pot leaked and ran into the microwave which we as customers had to wipe the microwave every time we used it. The door stop in the bathroom has so much dirt and filth around it. The comforters desperately need updated - had to pay a $50 fee in case anything got broken which nothing did. Would like my $50 refunded to me immediately-

We enjoyed being right on the beach. Walls were thin and the lady next door was loud and cussing. We did smell pot a few times during our 2 day stay. I dont appreciate that. Could not tell where it was coming from though.

We are right next to the boardwalk and beach. Parking was there on site. Open the curtains in the room, view of the beach. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We had room with a small kitchen with plates, glasses, silverware and cooking stovetop.

This is an older property that is showing its age.It is clean and comfortable, beds were good but certainly not modern.It is the last motel at the southern end of the beach so not close walking distance to many shops.We had an issue with the toilet which was addressed quickly and a problem with being locked out which was quickly fixed.The TV was smaller than my computer monitor and needed 2 remotes to operate.I couldn't get a printout of my stay because I didn't book directly with them.We didn't use pool but it was located between the motel and the road,not ideal position.

The picture of the room looked better than what we experienced. The view of the ocean was nice. The whirlpool tub was in front of the window and next to the bed. Not ideal in my opinion. We did not use it. Small table and two chairs next to the tv. No carpet. Bathroom was small and the towels were shabby and worn. We had booked for two nights but only stayed one night. The staff was nice but it was not a place I would go to again. If you are looking for a location on the beach, it is on the boardwalk and the beach is beautiful.

This place is great and will probably be my go-to when staying in the area in the future. The rooms are nice and big, and the ocean front view and balcony are beautiful. Large jacuzzi tub in the room. My only issue is with the AC - the building is own and well kept, however with the heat over the weekend the AC unit struggled so hard. I could not get the room under 76° the two nights I stayed there. There are snack and soda machines outside on the sixth floor where the items were warm or melted due to the temperature. Otherwise, everything else was great.

Stayed for one night only. This is a basic hotel at the end of the boardwalk at Virginia Beach. We arrived early and were given a parking pass and access to a bathroom so we could hit the beach. Though it said 4pm check in they called me to let me know we had a room ready a little early. The room seemed a bit worn but it was overall clean. Reserved an oceanfront room with a jetted tub. The tub was amazing, helped with sore muscles and being somewhat chilly ☺️. Was able to walk to most activites, was even able to watch several dolphins playing from the balcony! The staff was polite and were ready to meet needs if asked. The only thing that could have been better were the beds, they were a little hard.

Our stay lasted less than 3 hrs. Beds weren’t comfortable.. I can live with that. The guest in the adjoining room as smoking cigarettes in their room. It quickly engulfed our room- despite putting towels on the floor to try to block it from coming in. I’m allergic to the smoke and called the front desk to notify them and told them our room now smells so bad it’s unbearable. I heard maintenance come down the hall for less than two minutes and then left again. I called yet again, ans nobody came to our room to check on us and our room, and they told me the guest said they weren’t smoking in the room. I stated that was an absolute lie and what are we supposed to do now, as I know have a migrane, eyes burning, throat irritation, and a child with me also dealing with it. Their fix… a smoke clearing machine! No offer to change rooms or anything. My daughter and I had to leave, we had no choice. Waste of money and we drove another 3 hr drive home at 9:30 at night. I went to the front desk to complain about their lack of trying to accommodate us and assist us in this mess and their excuse was “we were busy”. Highly do not recommend.

Hotels.com site had very positive reviews and they were right. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. The room was in tip top shape when I arrived. Everything that a good hotel room should have was there. And the room was thoroughly cleaned after my first night! When I stay for two nights at a hotel the room is often not cleaned after the first night. Great view and good location.

Great customer service from the entire staff! The rooms were well maintained and clean. We had an issue with a leak coming through the ceiling due to another guest flooding their bathroom above us, and we were moved to another room without issue. Would definitely stay again.

My family has come to the Schooner since the 1990's never again. The staff is poorly trained entitled children that laugh at you when you voice a concern. I checked out the morning of 29 August so do your math on the entitled clown that laughed in my face when I voiced my displeasure of being checked in an hour late the evening before. Black kid with dreads in case you can't solve the mystery....Not to mention a car full of ants from the rains the evening before. I suggest you get your team trained and validated before you let scum represent the business

The front desk staff were friendly and easy to work with. They allowed us to park in the lot prior to check-in so we could get our vacation started right away. Not only that, they CALLED me to let me know our room was ready several hours early and we were welcome to check-in any time. This was great because it had started to rain. They were always busy, but took the time to be kind and it made a huge difference for us.

The front desk staff, Robert was very friendly and shared information with us. Thank you! Love the fact that even when you check out at 11am, your parking pass, use of the swimming pool and a bathroom facility with a shower is available to use until 2pm! What a great asset!

We had an issue with the patio door opening and the cable TV working, but they sent maintenance both times. They were very quick and efficient and got everything into working order. Very impressed!

An incident occurred during my stay which involved my vehicle along with the police needing to be called. The staff at the front desk, specifically, Janet and Adrian (manager) went above and beyond to do everything in their power to help me in anyway they could, including retrieving video footage needed for the police. Other then this issue our stay was fabulous! Love this place, and it's right on the beach. I highly recommend!
An incident occurred during my stay which involved my vehicle along with the police needing to be called. The staff at the front desk, specifically, Janet and Adrian (manager) went above and beyond to do everything in their power to help me in anyway they could, including retrieving video footage needed for the police. Other then this issue our stay was fabulous! Love this place, and it's right on the beach. I highly recommend!

I’ve stayed here previously, and will again. Can’t beat the ocean views. On the strip, without being “on” the strip. Being away from the noise/traffic is a definite plus. Parking isn’t as bad as the area hotels; just get there early

This will probably be my family's go to hotel when visiting Virginia Beach. We enjoyed the view of the ocean from the room. Room was clean and staff was very nice. The hotel was in a good location. It was a nice mix of a non crowded beach with things to do in walking distance. Perfect mixture for my family.

Stayed for one night only. This is a basic hotel at the end of the boardwalk at Virginia Beach. We arrived early and were given a parking pass and access to a bathroom so we could hit the beach. Though it said 4pm check in they called me to let me know we had a room ready a little early. The room seemed a bit worn but it was overall clean. We did not spring for a beach view but the beach view is likely excellent. This hotel is right on a great section of beach and walkable to many eateries. You can't beat the location. There are good deals on weekdays but pricier on the weekend (of course). They said we could continue to use the parking until 2pm after check out. They have a small parking lot and only allow ONE car per room, but there are public parking spots not too far away for a daily fee. Had a great time and would like to go back. Super loved the beach.

Our stay was pretty disappointing. We paid the higher price to book an ocean view room. To our disappointment, the city of Virginia Beach planned a music festival on the beach for the weekend after our stay; so our ocean view turned into the view of a giant music stage and festival grounds being erected. And the normal beach access from the hotel was blocked. The hotel claimed that they were not notified by the city and didn't know until it happened. That may very well have been the case. We simply asked that they discount our stay to reflect not getting everything we paid for. The office staff said they were reaching out to Hotels com to adjust our charge. It's now weeks later and we haven't received any discount or refund. Too bad. By and large we enjoyed our stay there; but this really tainted the experience. We do not plan on returning. If you are planning to stay there, I would recommend checking what might be going on around the hotel that week.

The Schooner Inn was perfect for my stay at the beach. It was a clean establishment with a kind staff right at the end of the VB strip on Atlantic avenue. Wasn’t crowded and in a quieter area. Oceanfront views were amazing as well as the view of the marina behind the hotel. Easy access to the beach and within walking distance of any shops or restaurants you may want to visit. Good parking. Heated outdoor pool was a bonus that we enjoyed. Absolutely recommend and will book this hotel again whenever visiting Virginia Beach.

We enjoyed the beach and the view. Good location away from the crowded areas. Hot tub room was nice. We had to call maintenance because the jets were screwed in very tight, but it worked afterwards. I wish the tub got hotter but it only was warm. No breakfast, electric car charging was a great addition.

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. There is a great beach view and convenient parking. There are good restaurants for breakfast, lunch and, dinner within walking distance.

We were in VA Beach for only one night for a concert. We were looking for a hotel at the beach that wouldn’t beak the bank. The Schooner Inn is an older hotel, but the rooms are clean as was the pool area. The beach is extremely accessible and lifeguarded if you need that option. It is a quick walk to the best restaurant at the beach…waterman’s surfside restaurant. All rooms have a water view although the ones on the front side are facing Rudee inlet rather than the ocean. All have decks, some kitchenettes, and some suites. We just had a double room facing the inlet. It was less than $200/night on a holiday weekend. I would stay here again, but next time would upgrade to ocean view.

Lots of walkable,delicious restaurants nearby. Oceanfront room was comfy. It is an older hotel,so naturally there is some wear and tear, however, the hotel room was clean, it has a great location by the inlet and staff is always helpful and friendly. I have stayed at this hotel a few times when I have visited over the past 18 years, as well as, other more expensive hotels along the boardwalk. And really, compared to others that cost more, this is the best value.

I loved the walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The room was perfect for me being by myself, it was clean. I had to ask for a blanket and was given one, it was fir my comfort and nothing was wrong in the room. I stayed there last year and I plan on staying again next year.

This property is right on the beach; south end by the jetty. There is a public beach access, and a well designed adaptive playground for kids next door. Although the building is somewhat old, it has been remodeled and is very comfortable, although the beds were a bit too soft for me. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. The (concrete) boardwalk is excellent for pedestrians, and the adjacent bike path for cyclists. It's an easy walk to multiple restaurants of all types, a car is rarely needed.

The only interaction with staff was while checking in. Although everything is very outdated our room was clean. We had plenty of hot water. The shower head is very low. Being able to wake up to seeing and hearing the ocean was awesome! The bed was terrible, the edges were hard and you sank in the middle.

We had a nice ocean view, but there was a surfing competition going on right in front of the hotel which had some noise associated with it. The facility was clean, however the parking area could have used a good power wash, and whatever was used to clean the indoor floor left a somewhat sticky surface. You can tell the facility is older, but overall it was clean and well maintained.

Best sport on the beach if you like surfing, swimming or music. Just a warning. There is not coffee or any other items in the lobby. Bring what you want. Still a great place to stay with a very nice pool and better views. Watch Rudee Inlet and sunrises at your front porch. Cheers

My only complaint was the microwave, it was so disgusting inside. I’m not sure what was in it. I tried to clean it, but whatever it was inside would not come off. Other than that my stay was fine. I would choose to stay there again. I’ll just know for next time to check the microwave before I bring my leftovers back with me.
