This cabin was a fabulous get away. Tucked in the mountains, it is so charming with so many great amenities. The coolest part was roasting marshmallows while enjoying the outdoor theater. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time! This place was perfect for the short getaway my wife and I were trying to have. The hot tub was fantastic, especially after a long hike, and it was cool watching Castle in the Sky in the middle of the woods. We were even visited by a Rosy Maple Moth in the middle of the movie, and I had never seen one of those in real life before! Definitely would stay again!

My wife and I spent a lovely weekend at Cardinal Cabin along with our dog, who lived his best life running and sniffing through the adjacent forest. The property was clean and cozy. We especially enjoyed the firepit and hot tub!

Second time staying at this cabin. Just love it here literally 15 minutes from Luray town center and Luray Caverns. Five minutes from Cooters. Thoroughly enjoyed the cabin to include the fire pit and the hot tub. Really easy to ask our host any questions we might have with quick response.

Very nice rustic get-a-way in a quiet neighborhood - relaxing retreat. Close to attractions and kayaking in the river. The outdoor theater was a nice touch - helpful hints: you will need a computer, DVD player, or an Amazon fire stick to work the projector (HDMI connection) with wifi capability and take a Bluetooth speaker to enhance your experience. Great yard if you have dogs, but don't forget flea/tick protection to keep them safe. Kristen was excellent with communication! I would recommend this cabin in the future.

We just got back home from an amazing stay at this property! We absolutely loved the location. Close to the local Walmart and Luray Caverns! We wanted a low key getaway for Christmas this year and this property was AMAZING! I brought a small Christmas tree for Christmas, but was so pleasantly surprised that a Christmas tree was already there! This place lived up to my expectations and more. The hot tub was amazing! We played endless amounts of the board games that were provided which our family loved! So many great memories made. The bedrooms were cozy and the bathroom was very clean. The host was so accommodating and very fast with responses to questions. We made great use of the fire pit that already had wood that was provided. I can’t say enough great things about the property. We really enjoyed our stay and will stay again!

Loved this spot. Clean, decorated nicely, has all fhe amenities you could ask for! My 2 poodles and i enjoyed our stay! The bed is comfy, the hot tub was super-clean and perfecr temp, the house is close to town, and we only wish it was cool enough to enjoy the firepit! My only recommendation -- something to hang our towels/bathrobe while in the hot tub. Other than that, the place was exactly what we needed!

This place is exactly as described. Extremely clean and put together. I felt like I was walking into a home! The location is great, as it's close to Luray, and all that Shenandoah has to offer. When we first arrived we were having issues with our door code. I message Kristen and she immediately responded. We had to troubleshoot some things but she was able to quickly get us into the house. I was worried we would be sleeping in the truck. But her attentiveness and quickness to response was amazing. I'd definitely recommend a stay here.

Very clean and reling! We didn't get to use the hot tub as it was too hot for the weather and didn't get to use thvie theater due to weather also. Maybe better in the fall!

We had a wonderful time at this vacation rental. The home had everything- the kitchen was easy to cook in with utensils and cookware. Bedrooms were comfortable and clean. The backyard was well-maintained. The screened in porch even had screen under the porch so bugs didn’t get in. There was a heat wave when we were there so we weren’t able to get into the hot tub, but it looked clean and inviting. The location was ideal. It was close to Luray caverns, Luray zoo and delicious restaurants. We enjoyed ordering delivery pizza from Anthony’s one night. We also spent time walking around the lake at Lake arrowhead. The host were extremely accommodating and quick to reply. We would definitely recommend this beautiful home and can’t wait to come back again! It was quiet and exactly what we needed and everything was listed exactly as imagined!!!

We had a great short stay here. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub, and had easy access to Shenandoah and Luray. It was nice and quiet. There was coffee and some toiletries to use, which we really appreciated!

We had a fantastic stay. Leaves were beautiful and full of color. Cabin was quiet and remote but close to everything. Our host quickly answered all of our questions - she was amazing! Enjoyed coming back after a hike to the warmth of the hot tub. Also used the fire pit nightly and loved the lighting! Bed was comfortable and we used both the a/c and the heat. If you go you won't regret it.

This house is a gem in the woods. We stayed 3 nights and on the last night we saw a buck and doe just 30 ft from us while we were in the hot tub. The bed was very comfortable, just wish the comforter wasn’t so heavy. We enjoyed our stay.

The Cardinal Cabin was a great place to stay near Shenandoah National Park! The hot tub was nice, the space was nice, and it felt nice and secluded from neighbors due to the woods.

My mom and I had the most amazing stay! We enjoyed all the amenities and it’s in an ideal location- close to the caverns and NP. House was clean and cozy and I want to add how appreciative I am that the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need (other hosts take note). She thought of it all. We had the BEST stay at this rental! The house was private and felt remote, yet it was still a short drive to restaurants and activities! The house was very clean, and the bed was comfortable (firm Tempur-pedic feeling, I'd say, which we love). The kitchen was well stocked, and we made a delicious charcuterie board. The wifi was spotty, so Netflix did stall out some, but we weren't watching much TV anyway. There were board games there, and we spent time in the hot tub and by the fire pit. The hot tub was nice and hot and clean! We went to Luray Caverns and went zip-lining at Bear Mountain Ziplines, so fun! The hosts sent us a PDF of things to do in the area, and we used that every day to pick hiking trails and restaurants. Great communication with the host. We would definitely stay here again!!

I’m really not exaggerating when I say that this was my best rental experience. Communication beforehand was excellent. Any questions I had were answered immediately. Check in was incredibly smooth. And the property— better than described. The atmosphere was so relaxing. Beautiful (and comfortable!!!) furnishings, an incredible amount of space, and so well stocked. Everything I could have needed was already there. There’s plenty of hot water, wood for the fire pit, utensils… I’m just really impressed at what a great experience it was. My teen has already requested a rebooking for our next getaway. Thank you so much!

This place is exactly as described. Extremely clean and put together. I felt like I was walking into a home! The location is great, as it's close to Luray, and all that Shenandoah has to offer. When we first arrived we were having issues with our door code. I message Kristen and she immediately responded. We had to troubleshoot some things but she was able to quickly get us into the house. I was worried we would be sleeping in the truck. But her attentiveness and quickness to response was amazing. I'd definitely recommend a stay here.

Property is exactly as described, very clean, well appointed. Pet friendly for responsible pet owners. Feels very private and isolated. Great place to stay to get away from it all, or a nice base to day trip attractions in Luray, Massanuten and the Shenandoah River/forest. Check in and check out was a breeze, owner is very friendly helpful and quick to respond to questions. Highly recommend!!

The property was in the perfect location, surrounded by woods. It was so quiet and picturesque. The inside clean, set up and decore just perfect for a cabin. I would give this place 5 stars. My sister and I plan on going back for sure.

We had a fantastic stay. Leaves were beautiful and full of color. Cabin was quiet and remote but close to everything. Our host quickly answered all of our questions - she was amazing! Enjoyed coming back after a hike to the warmth of the hot tub. Also used the fire pit nightly and loved the lighting! Bed was comfortable and we used both the a/c and the heat. If you go you won't regret it.

Second time staying at this cabin. Just love it here literally 15 minutes from Luray town center and Luray Caverns. Five minutes from Cooters. Thoroughly enjoyed the cabin to include the fire pit and the hot tub. Really easy to ask our host any questions we might have with quick response.

Very nice rustic get-a-way in a quiet neighborhood - relaxing retreat. Close to attractions and kayaking in the river. The outdoor theater was a nice touch - helpful hints: you will need a computer, DVD player, or an Amazon fire stick to work the projector (HDMI connection) with wifi capability and take a Bluetooth speaker to enhance your experience. We just got back home from an amazing stay at this property! We absolutely loved the location. Close to the local Walmart and Luray Caverns! We wanted a low key getaway for Christmas this year and this property was AMAZING! I brought a small Christmas tree for Christmas, but was so pleasantly surprised that a Christmas tree was already there! This place lived up to my expectations and more. The hot tub was amazing! We played endless amounts of the board games that were provided which our family loved! So many great memories made. The bedrooms were cozy and the bathroom was very clean. The host was so accommodating and very fast with responses to questions. We made great use of the fire pit that already had wood that was provided. I can’t say enough great things about the property. We really enjoyed our stay and will stay again!

We reserved this property for two nights and only stayed for one. Inspecting the cabin we found the following issues:House flies buzzing all around the cabinThe ac window unit’s cord was burnt and inoperableThere was murkiness to the water in the hot tub outsideThe shower inside the cabin bathroom was missing a knob and its curtain liner had visible bacterial growth on itThe outdoor entertainment area was missing its projector and its “outhouse” was unkemptThe cabin’s hot water ran out after only our first shower and did not return for the rest of our stay. This led to our early departure from the rental.Based on our experience, and based on the amount of money we were charged, we feel that whoever maintains this property should have had these cleanliness issues and safety hazards resolved before putting this property on the rental market. We would not recommend this cabin to any guest or family at the present time given its state and its dubious electrical supply condition.

The host was very nice and everything looked okay at first glance, but unfortunately there were a few really unpleasant issues that made our stay uncomfortable.First, the amount of pet hair was overwhelming. We were absolutely covered just from sitting on the couch. We had our own dog with us (a bichon), and we actually had to open the windows because we were having allergic reactions.Second, the bedding had clearly not been changed. When we went to put our children to bed, there was a significant amount of long dog hair, food crumbs, and even a fake eyelash (ew!) on and under the covers. The host suggested we look for clean bedding in the hallway closet, but there wasn’t any available.I vacuumed in the morning and the vacuum bag was nearly full just from pet hair from a long-haired dog. We ended up leaving as soon as possible.Additionally, we never received check-in instructions and had to ask the host for both the front door code and the WiFi password, as neither was posted anywhere.For 350 a night, we really expected much better in terms of basic cleanliness and communication.
