We stayed here several years ago and loved it so much that we chose it as the destination for our granddaughter’s 6th birthday. Never again. A staff member wearing a lifeguard shirt sat poolside doing absolutely NOTHING while children played on the end of the slide and in the water at the bottom, creating a dangerous situation for everyone. She was FIVE FEET AWAY, yet I had to ask her to intervene. She even had to remove her earbuds so I could repeat myself! It gets worse. A mother lost track of her young daughter and yelled for help. The “lifeguard” stood up, glanced toward the bottom of the pool, and yelled back that the child wasn’t there. Thankfully, the little girl was found in the bathroom. Thank goodness this ended well, because the lack of attention was alarming. Yes, parents should supervise their children. However, if you advertise “NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY,” WHY have someone poolside in a lifeguard shirt? If she was responsible for monitoring the area, her apparent lack of attention was unacceptable. The only time I saw her remove her earbuds and engage enthusiastically was when people I assume were her friends arrived. She spent an excessive amount of time with them, her BACK TO THE ENTIRE POOL. We returned hoping to make wonderful birthday memories. Instead, we witnessed dangerous behavior and an appalling lack of attention from staff. Poor parenting was frustrating; staff indifference was inexcusable. We gave this hotel a 2nd chance. There will NOT be a 3rd!

It was refreshing coming from a hotel that needed a lot of work. It was great to be able to come to a hotel that was clean updated and with helpful staff. The breakfast was great and the location was fantastic.
