Really liked the hotel and location. Will be going back later in the year. Only criticism was the pool not being open in the morning. Otherwise great hotel with lovely staff! Shame the town is becoming rundown, the low lighting in the shopping area at night made us want to get back to the hotel asap.

Our stay was very nice although very short, the pool was lovely, small and I don't think I woud have liked it if there had been more than the other couple there but luckily there wasn't anyone else. The breakfast was lovely and lots of choise. The only thing I was not happy about was having to pay for parking - my mistake when I asked for parking when I booked it, I assumed parking avalible meant it was free on site - it's not, it's £12.50 for and underground parking area at the back of the hotel which is quite creepy at night for 2 women to be getting there bags out of and trying to find the way into the back entrance of the hotel. Also don't open your boot - it will hit the concrete roof.

The hotel is nice, location is brilliant, car park is very good, brekkie was decent. The only thing I’d say is that the rooms are slightly dated. Don’t expect a new Hilton/marriott type of room. The room was decent enough for 3 people, I’d just say the decor is a little dated but fine for 2 nights. The best thing about the hotel is the pool and access to the outside area if you want a drink and the location!

Hotel was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly. Breakfast was average and had to pay £10 per night car park charge which we did not know about prior to booking. Spa was nice but there was a really loud noise which stopped it being relaxing

We think we have found our family regular place to visit! We have two young girls so booking the family suite we were not expecting an extra room as part of our main room, the girls loved their bunk bed room with tv! Our room was beautifully decorated and a lovely modern bathroom. They had decorated the hotel in and out like a winter wonderland. The furnishings, reception, bar was very smart! And the breakfast! You choose from a great menu, freshly heated croissants and the Dorset breakfast was Devine! The kids loved the swimming pool, warm jacuzzi and sauna. Had the place to ourselves as a family. I get the impression that there is a lot of love and attention that goes into running this hotel. Anything we asked for was no trouble. Parking is very easy you pay £12 a day but it’s so easy and lots of spaces. The beach is a 10 minute walk and the town with its gorgeous winter gardens is 10 minutes the other way. This hotel is so close to everything. We love Bournemouth and love this hotel - we have already booked for summer and can’t wait!

Lovely hotel, staff were friendly. Bar and restaurant area was really nice and comfortable. Pool, jacuzzi and sauna was nice as well. Location was superb, it's a few minutes away from the pier and beach and about 10 minutes into the main shopping area.

Good location, friendly staff, and nice pool, hottub and sauna - although there were no lockers in the spa area. Cleanliness and condition of rooms were not great however. First room I checked into stunk of smoke so I asked for a swap, the second room was boiling hot but there was no ability to change Aircon/heating preferences. So I had to check in to a third room in the end - not ideal after traveling all day and wanting to put your feet up and relax! I was on the third floor and the only available lift in the entire hotel is the slowest I've ever encountered. And I mean ever, in my life. It was faster to walk up 3 stories, but when you have luggage or heading to spa on the bottom floor, you have no choice. Will not choose this hotel again.

Bar area of the property is modern looking and bright. Blonde member of staff in there was very friendly. Breakfast was good, plenty of staff. Nice to have a swimming pool, although not very warm for such a small indoor pool. Requested a travel cot, phoned to check this request had been received which it had but still didn’t have one in the room on arrival. Then provided one unopened, with double bed sized sheets to use with it. The family room is position awfully - up a lift which barely fits a pram and person inside, and then down some stairs, so not ideal at all for families with prams. There is also no bath, again not great for young children, although this is something we probably missed on the room description. You’re directed to the room through a door off the lobby which requires a fob to open, but there is another entrance to the rooms the other side of the reception which is open to the public, so security in that sense isn’t too great. As others have mentioned, you have to pay for parking which runs until midday on checkout, and you can pay for extra if you wish to stay until the afternoon.

The room was 24.4 degrees all night even with the windows open, with them open it meant the room was very loud from people outside. We were at the back of the hotel on 2nd floor and could hear people talking and shouting until 4am! So we didn’t sleep great and the bed wasn’t the comfiest. The shower was good but not the cleanest. The lift was slow and tiny we ended up carrying our pram down the stairs. The pool was nice, the changing area tiny and not good for families though. The staff all very friendly and super helpful that was the best part of the stay.

We enjoyed a clean room, nice health suite, brand new bathroom, laminate flooring instead of carpet. A musty smell pervaded the room the whole time even with open windows. Charges for breakfast are unreasonable and unjustifiable, we went elsewhere for breakfast.

Initial room offered had not been cleaned from the previous guests. But manager offered an alternative room quickly which included a room upgrade. Cleaning lady came to update the bed arrangement in this new room and entered the room without knocking. Not the best housekeeping experience. Apart from this, hotel location is great and staff in the bar and reception were friendly and helpful.

Decor in the reception area, bar and restaurant are very decadent which makes a very nice space and atmosphere, along with the outside seating areas reminded me of abroad holiday hotels. Breakfast was very good. Disappointments: - No warm welcome on arrival and check-in. Surprised that you had to book a time for breakfast & would have liked information on arrival eg. have to request the sauna to be switched on, as well as receiving the leaflet with the key. Very shocked to find extremely stained pillows with no protectors - There was no apology or conversation from the Hotel Manager when he delivered new pillows to our room - Only one of the new pillows was unstained. Leisure facility - No lockers to keep belongings forcing guests to take them into the pool area - No proper seating only a small bench provided, which was being used by guests to keep their belongings. No accessible drinking water (should be a must with a sauna), no clock & beach balls etc & jumping in should not be allowed. Overall stay was pleasant but not relaxing as we had hoped.

Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. There 4 concerns of why I wouldn’t stay here again. 1. The hill to walk up the hotel is very steep and push a pram up it was painful. 2. The rooms don’t have A/C and get really warm, I can’t imagine what it would be like in the summer time. 3. The hotel only has one lift, the door opens and closes very slow and if the hotel is busy you have to wait ages for it. The lift is very small so very hard to get a pram and two people inside let alone a suitcase too. 4. In the morning blue sacks of fresh linen is left in the corridor so you can’t push a pram through it so I had to move them myself. The positives The staff are so polite and professional. The hotel is clean and food was nice. Breakfast is very nice and by far beats anything from a chain hotel. Room size was big and adequate as advertised Points to think about: We were given a room at the front of the property and the road outside and people loitering outside was noisy and disturbed our baby sleeping. Families with young babies or toddlers should be given a room at the back of the property so it’s quiet. The continental breakfast area is situated by the door that waiters use to take in dirty dishes and take orders to the kitchen. This area became very congested at times with guests waiting for their toast or getting a drink. It may be advised to move it to the wall opposite to not interfere with the waiters/waitress trying to do their job. Overall it was ok.
Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. There 4 concerns of why I wouldn’t stay here again. 1. The hill to walk up the hotel is very steep and push a pram up it was painful. 2. The rooms don’t have A/C and get really warm, I can’t imagine what it would be like in the summer time. 3. The hotel only has one lift, the door opens and closes very slow and if the hotel is busy you have to wait ages for it. The lift is very small so very hard to get a pram and two people inside let alone a suitcase too. 4. In the morning blue sacks of fresh linen is left in the corridor so you can’t push a pram through it so I had to move them myself. The positives The staff are so polite and professional. The hotel is clean and food was nice. Breakfast is very nice and by far beats anything from a chain hotel. Room size was big and adequate as advertised Points to think about: We were given a room at the front of the property and the road outside and people loitering outside was noisy and disturbed our baby sleeping. Families with young babies or toddlers should be given a room at the back of the property so it’s quiet. The continental breakfast area is situated by the door that waiters use to take in dirty dishes and take orders to the kitchen. This area became very congested at times with guests waiting for their toast or getting a drink. It may be advised to move it to the wall opposite to not interfere with the waiters/waitress trying to do their job. Overall it was ok.

Lovely hotel; friendly staff, lovely decor. Very hot in the rooms even with the radiator turned off, windows open and fan on. Better than being cold in February though certainly and not a deal breaker! Would book again.

The room was 24.4 degrees all night even with the windows open, with them open it meant the room was very loud from people outside. We were at the back of the hotel on 2nd floor and could hear people talking and shouting until 4am! So we didn’t sleep great and the bed wasn’t the comfiest. The shower was good but not the cleanest. The lift was slow and tiny we ended up carrying our pram down the stairs. The pool was nice, the changing area tiny and not good for families though. The staff all very friendly and super helpful that was the best part of the stay.

Our stay was quite good - we started with a warm room but found a large fan in the wardrobe which helped. We then couldn't turn the heated towel rail off in the bathroom which made it unbearable as the temps were 26-28 outside. Someone came in and turned it off the next day and it was much more comfortable in the room. Our last night was a noisy one - one of the residents decided to congregate with his mates in the car park behind our room on their e-scooters, plus car stereos blaring at gone 11 (we had a little one sleeping) ... which took a while for the hotel to resolve, but we got there in the end. Otherwise, lovely room, great location and would go back.

Beds were very comfortable and had a quiet room. Would be nice if the windows could open a bit more for some air flow, a bit warm and stuffy. Pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna all very nice. Family friendly. Only issue was towel hanger in bathroom fell off when put a small towel on it, and a light was out in the desk lamp overhead. Everything else was as advertised.

Nice staff and good food in restaurant, our family room was decent but on the main road and very loud. In the room there was no safe and the bed was on its last legs and shower was very weak.

The room we initially had was on the smaller side considering how much we paid for the room and there were two adults and a toddler. It also was really hot with a broken AC unit. We tried to get through the first night but unfortunately all of us struggled to sleep. The next morning we spoke to the lady on the reception who was kind enough to offer us an alternative room on a higher level, the room was a lot more spacious and had a sea view. Besides the issues with the room, the hotel itself is lovely, perfectly located with super friendly staff and alternative leisure activities if you don’t fancy the sea side. Sita working at the bar was amazing with our three year old and the food was faultless. Would definitely book again.

The hotel was beautifully presented and very clean. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the beds very comfortable. The only let down was the efficiency and attentiveness of the staff. The bar service was very slow and we waited almost an hour for our menus/drinks when we ate in the restaurant (despite having made an advance reservation). However we were not in a rush and so it didnt ruin our evening. The reception was straight and efficient but lacked that warm welcome perhap you come to expect. But all that being said it is a fabulous hotel in a fabulous location and we look forward to our next visit.

Lovely hotel with great friendly staff (in the bar and restaurant especially!) think it’s so good when they provide so many games and things to do including bingo night which was a lot of fun! Breakfast was fantastic and rooms lovely. Only issue we had was it’s really noisy outside with cars constantly passing horning and revving and the velux windows don’t shut! Otherwise the hotel itself is really quiet. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely hotel, the staff were fantastic, all the team we spoke to were great, everyone from the team at breakfast to the maintenance man to the bedroom cleaners were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and comfortable to stay. Only one small thing that let it down was a beeping alarm was going off all night, when reported it to the reception it still wasn't sorted

We’ve stayed here before and love the location,staff and hotel. It’s very clean and tidy and rooms are above excellent for the price. Yes there are other hotels around the area but the Hotel Collingwood is above the rest.

Initial room offered had not been cleaned from the previous guests. But manager offered an alternative room quickly which included a room upgrade. Cleaning lady came to update the bed arrangement in this new room and entered the room without knocking. Not the best housekeeping experience. Apart from this, hotel location is great and staff in the bar and reception were friendly and helpful.

They don’t tell you until you go down to reception to ask why no hot water, that you have to run the tap / shower for at least 10 minutes. Considering the eco efforts made by the hotel this seems crazy. Receptionist was not very helpful when asked where the car park was so we had to find it ourselves and when we finally arrived to check-in she did not acknowledge us for several minutes while “working on the computer”. Quite rude. Breakfast was disappointing. We arrived shortly after it opened expecting a lovely freshly cooked breakfast as promised. We had watery scrambled egg, rock hard sausage and greasy hash brown. Huge queue for toaster & coffee needs to be solved.

Stayed for one night to go to concert at BIC, location was perfect for this. Room was small but perfectly adequate and comfortable, nice bathroom. No issues with cleanliness. Good breakfast and service friendly and efficient.

Really liked the hotel and location. Will be going back later in the year. Only criticism was the pool not being open in the morning. Otherwise great hotel with lovely staff! Shame the town is becoming rundown, the low lighting in the shopping area at night made us want to get back to the hotel asap.

Perfect location, just a short walk from the beach and town centre. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, making the stay enjoyable. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with great amenities like an indoor pool. The breakfast was good, the overall experience is excellen.

We stayed for a Graduation which was opposite hotel so very convenient. Chargeable car park at rear of hotel was handy. Great fresh cooked to order breakfast. We didn’t eat in the restaurant in evenings but did have a drink in the bar that was nice stylish decorated. Good choice hotel that’s a short walk into town (although a hill to walk up on way back). Nice rooms . Would stay again infact it’s our second stay here.

Just stayed one night as went to a concert at BIC. Good location for BIC and bars and restaurants very nearby. Stayed at Collingwood Hotel many times some years ago, but been updated very tastefully…and the Christmas decorations were beautiful.

This little hotel was SO faboulos, and decorated for Christmas with great taste. Rooms were spacious, clean and very confortable. A special breakfast expierience, where you order, what you want from the waiter, and only basics on the buffet. Great! And the coffee - delicious.

We stayed two nights Sat and Sunday, Saturday night was loud (must have had a party on) we could hear thumping from what was probably the music and the guests were shouting and slamming the doors regularly till about 01:00. In our room we could hear a either a extractor fan or a air con unit all night (not constantly but regularly) The Sunday morning breakfast was very busy but the staff were fantastic and the food was well cooked and tasty, unfortunately Mondays breakfast wasn’t the black pudding and the hash brown was rock hard and overcooked but the rest of the breakfast was good. My partner had the pancakes which said came with bacon but it didn’t and we didn’t see anyone till we had eaten our food. The property is close to the seafront and close to the town centre (on top of a steep hill) Woulds’t say it was a”signature” collection hotel as a few things were needed, most hotels we’ve visited have a pen and paper or tissues n the room this didn't. Found a fake fingernail in one of the draws, the walls and carpet in room had a few stains. The double glazing wasn’t the best could hear the banging of the bins from the kitchen in the evening. Didn’t get time to use the pool area so can’t comment on that. Probably wouldn’t stay here again if was in the area lots of other hotels in the area.

We stayed in march with a 15 month old baby. Room was very good, we had one bed next to the wall, so baby was safe not to fall out. Excellent location of the hotel, quiet nights, good food choices for the dinner (steak and burger were especially delicious), also it was quiet during dinner times at both bar and restaurant areas. Water in the main swimming pool was too cold for the baby to go in, but we enjoyed jacuzzi bath. Also our baby had fun watching us play table tennis, American pool and table football. The only downside to mention is our room seemed a bit humid, probably due to some proximity to the sauna. We stayed 5 nights and interacted with different staff members, everyone were extremely polite, friendly and very helpful. Overall it was a very pleasant, relaxing stay, that we enjoyed.

Our double room was no more than 8 feet wide with only one window that opened no more than 6 inches. Our room was overwhelmingly hot. It was the worst room I have had in all my years of adult holidaying. I was unable to sleep longer than 4 hours each day over the 4 days we were there. The fan that was provided was a help but in a room so small the noise from it prevented me from being able to relax. The positives. It was clean, the bathroom was a decent size and came with a good size shower tray and good shower. The bar staff though sometimes absent were close by and were helpful, polite and obliging. Our room was a big disappointment and certainly not good value for money. If this is a typical example of room size I would not stay there again.

I booked the hotel for my brother and his family, I was really impressed and delighted I booked the hotel Collingwood, the staff were lovely and friendly, it was relaxing and a delight to visit the hotel

The room was a basic room but what was pretty spacious. The shower was very powerful and hot. You can open the windows for fresh air and had Blackout blinds which were decent. The pool was a nice extra for free Along with the sauna and jacuzzi. Breakfast was very nice. The waitress will take your order from the menu and you can have cereal, toast and fruit while you wait. Staff are all very polite and helpful. The car park was £12.50 per day . I would definitely stay here again

The hotel was OK. The restaurant staff were amazing except for thing J can complain about. I booked dinner for the cold room and asked for a birthday song and small cake type of thing.. The staff called me before J even travelled and told me theh don't do it m. Onyy to my surprise I found out that they actually do it coz someone had their birthday sunv for and had a cake etc when I asked the waiter. I was told I should have booked in advance.... Hello I did and got a call and a as told chef doesn't do that... At l ew last the waiter was nice enough to spruce somwthing up not to what I actually wanted to make my partners 40th memorable. I guess it is what it is. Next time your restaurant should be aware of what is going on and not give false information.
