The elevator was broken so the wait was 10 minutes to get on! The hot tub was broken! Makes zero sense why people staying at the hotel has to pay extra for the waterslide ! $700 stay and have to pay for that is ridiculous

One elevator was broken so it would take 20 minutes to get to your room, it was awful. Kids loved the waterpark! Water was a little cold but overall very enjoyable. Rooms definitely need to be updated.

Stay was fine. Hotel is way overpriced when you consider additional charges for wrist bands for pool. Pool is pretty cool, but almost $400 per night plus asking families to pay more for the pool is ridiculous.

Friendly staff however, swimming is charged now. We went 3 years ago and we can swim in all amenities. So sad, hot pool is also closed right now.

Room was clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful. Waterslides and play zone areas were closed (Monday+tuesday) but the lazy river, kiddy pool and activity pool were all open.

The air conditioner was noisy TV remote control isn’t working because of battery issues. Maintenance guy didn’t show up to fixed our TV. Water park was awesome kids enjoy but they started charging extra money for water

The convenience of having everything you need in the building is great. However, for the price you pay for the rooms some amenities should be included. The breakfast buffet is on par with continental breakfast but you pay $10.99/person. The pool is great but you'll also pay extra to use that. One elevator was also out of order which seems to be common and leads to long waits for the working elevators.

I recently stayed here and felt the hotel itself was pretty run down, especially for the price of $299.34 per night. The bathroom mirror had a broken corner with paint on it, there was no hair dryer or laundry bag provided, and the freezer coil in the fridge was over-frozen. The water ran extremely hot in a way that seemed unsafe, and the complimentary toiletries were very small and not great quality. The carpet in the hallways is clearly worn, and the elevator flooring could really use some repairs. That said, there were a few bright spots. The water park was excellent, clean, fun, and well maintained. Breakfast was generous, and I appreciated the convenience of having restaurants in the building. Being connected to the Alerus Center was also a major plus. Overall, the amenities helped balance out the stay, but the hotel itself could use some serious updates or should consider changing the price.

Cleanliness issues throughout the hotel and in our room. We have stayed here many times before, but it seems to be going downhill. Cleaning was not being done during our stay. Our room had wet carpets and a wet musty smell. It was difficult to sleep because of the musty smell.

We stayed for 4 days and our room was not cleaned or stocked once during our stay. The front desk staff were less than pleasant. Nice hotel, nice room and decent area. But I was disappointed with the service there.

Liked the water park, the tavern was awesome/had amazing food. Aaltos breakfast food was Mediocre. Room was alright, the grip stickers in the tub were gross/stained looking and need to be replaced. There was no fitted sheets on either of our beds but a flat sheet covering the mattress protector. bathroom counter had a sticky food residue on it. Hotel amenities were decent, overall if I had to pick the same room again on another stay I would pick another hotel to STAY at but go here again for the entertainment, water park and possibly the tavern.

We make a point to stay here every year and every year it gets better and better. One of the cleanest hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The property is so well taken care of, staff is friendly and helpful. 10/10. Wish we came through more often. Kids had a blast at the water park! Rooms are quiet, and the beds are comfy!

Our room was so dirty and smelled awful. There was blood on the sheets on one of the queen beds and the bathroom floor also had either blood or some sort of brownish red drops on it.

Overall stay was ok. We stay because our 3 year old loves the waterpark. Cleanliness was the issue. My 3 year older found an empty booze bottle under the edge of the bed and there were also long black hairs in the sink.

We chose this place because it has a waterpark in the building and our 2 boys very much look forward to it. It's a great idea, but when you walk in you can only smell chlorine and it's hard to breath. The room and whole building is outdated and run down. 'm certain there is even mildew in the room we stayed in, I have a sensitive nose to I can smell even the tiniest hint of things. The staff were SUPER FRIENDLY and very kind and the only reason (besides being too tired) we ended up just keeping our reservation. I think it's fun for a day or 2 and if you're not too picky about smells.

Great stay. I would have gave it a 5 star but the air conditioner in the room was vibrating on and off all night. Other than that it was a great stay. Clean rooms, friendly staff, waterpark was awesome. Also right off the highway so location was great.

The visit exceeded our expectation. Being an old establishment, we were expecting smelly and not-so,good facility but alas, no stale odour at all. The facility was well kept. Clean!!! Kids enjoyed the water park. The breakfast was adequate but maybe there should be variety of options. Keep it up!

We had a nice time however the wifi was out in the room the entire time we were there which was difficult to stay in touch with work and to keep the kids occupied in the room. We had a theme room which was Mario brothers and were disappointed with the lack of theme as there was a total of 2 posters with characters and that was all. For the most part we had a good time just the wifi was a big disappointment

Worst stay ever. We had room 202. We had a room by the elevator. Kids were screaming and running in the hallway until midnight. Then when they finally went to their rooms with their parents you could hear everything through the floors. Stomping, jumping. Couldn’t wait to check out and get home. The beds were creaky and worn. Woke up with horrible neck pain from the pillows. Not a good stay.

The staff were very professional and friendly. We had a problem first on the room we check in. Then we talk to them about it. They immediately change our room. We're gonna check in here again for the next visit. It was a nice experience for the first time visiting here.

A breaker blew so we had no electricity in our bathroom. Check in was challenging as they didn’t have clean rooms for many people checking in. We had to wait over two hours in the lobby for a room. They also weren’t able to give us an estimate of how long it would take either so we didn’t want to leave the lobby for fear that they may call our names and we weren’t there and then would miss getting a room.

Facility is great. Most staff was amazing. Disappointed that we called morning of check in to see if we could check in early. We were assured the rooms would be ready at 1pm for us, so we started our 2 hour drive. Got there and the rooms weren’t done till 3pm. That was disappointing and hard on our 4 year old and 2 year old who were so excited to be there. Also disappointing that not everything in the pool is open on Mondays and Tuesdays. We didn’t realize that. The kids were a little sad on Monday, but got over it quickly. I understand that it’s not busy on those days, so doesn’t make sense to have staff working the pool, but disappointing for children none the less. I would’ve ever book on a Monday or Tuesday again because of this.

Everything was ok. Cleanliness was ok. Swimming area was ok. Food options were ok. But the customer service was terrible!! Poor communication, being ignored at front desk and breakfast instead of a simple “hello, we will be right with you, or I am sorry about that, or we are very busy we will seat you in 10 minutes”. Nope just ignored. I’m the morning the front desk was empty, phones ringing, customers waiting and none to help. Terrible experience! Will stay somewhere else next time and just pay to come swim. Very disappointing!

We booked a room checkin September 29th and checked out yesterday September 30th - we were staying at Room 612. We checked out yesterday around 10 am and drove back to Canada. I called before 12 noon and spoke to the front desk to inform that we left our clothes by the room closet (clothes were put in the hanger). I was told that when the housekeeping clean our room, I will receive a phone call to make arrangements to ship the items. However, until today nobody contacted me. I called this morning but was told that nothing was left in the room. So frustrating since I called right away after we checked out. Nobody contacted me from the hotel. So unhappy with the customer service.

Nice if you’re going to the Alerus Center because it’s attached but other than that, it’s like a budget inn and the water park isn’t included in the rate.

Really cool place! Love that there are several restaurants and bars on property. The waterpark looked nice but was so busy that we avoided it. We did go to an event at the Alerus which was super convenient. Also went to the UND hockey games and they have fan busses to drop you off and pick you up after. We had 2 dogs with us and got a suite, which seemed to be quieter than most hotels rooms. Very clean and comfortable room. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here next time we are in Grand Forks!

We enjoy staying here because it is conveniently connected to the Alerus Center. It allowed my daughter and her friend the ability to walk right to and from the Zach Bryan concert. Some of the electrical was iffy in our room.

Nice to have the water park however the water in the pool was way too cool and the hot tub was lukewarm. The breakfast buffet at Altos was very good and well priced. The deluxe room was very spacious and ample parking available. Nice and close to shopping and other restaurants

Between altos not having staff and waiting in line for breakfast both morning and Tavern United being closed for most of the day it was really hard to get food anywhere in hotel. Plus the Tavern closed at 100 pm one night and 1100 pm the next night. Overall not a great experience.

Liked the water park, the tavern was awesome/had amazing food. Aaltos breakfast food was Mediocre. Room was alright, the grip stickers in the tub were gross/stained looking and need to be replaced. There was no fitted sheets on either of our beds but a flat sheet covering the mattress protector. bathroom counter had a sticky food residue on it. Hotel amenities were decent, overall if I had to pick the same room again on another stay I would pick another hotel to STAY at but go here again for the entertainment, water park and possibly the tavern.

Having the water park in house is awesome and it’s right next to the Alerus center. I felt it was overpriced though. Almost all the ice machines were out of ice, water in vending machines was sold out. There was a breakfast buffet at one of the restaurants but it wasn’t good. We ate at the Tavern twice. Once the service was great and the next day so slow. The food was good though.

Staff kindly gave us early check-in so we could change into our swimsuits to enjoy the Waterpark. Surprise bonus was free breakfast at Aaltos which was excellent. Great stay at great place.

The rooms could use some updating and carpet change. Otherwise the rooms were clean. Our TV didn't work and kept saying bad weather but the weather was beautiful. They came and reset but didn't work. We had NO TV the whole stay. The continental breakfast was ok same as many other places. The night staff was very friendly but not so much during the day.

Room was clean. Staff was helpful especially with getting setup with the pool. Breakfast was simple and I wish there was more options. I wish there were better restaurant options like a buffet on site.

There was what looked like dried blood on the bathroom wall. To their credit, they apologized, comped us for 1 night stay, and sent maintenance up to clean it. Tavern restaurant understaffed. Hostess was also the bartender. She sat us in a booth and gave us menus. No one came to take our order, so after waiting 15min, we went up to the bar to place our order. She apologized and gave us a discount on our tab. Free hot breakfast was ok. Bread choices were loaves of sliced white & wheat bread in bags encouraging people's fingers to touch multiple slices. No English muffins. No bagels. They had waffle do it yourself station. They had pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage links. Some cold cereal. Some fresh fruit and yogurt cups. All paper plates and plastic utensils. No sundry shop. They have drinks and snacks for purchase in the hallway across from the hotel desk. Live gaming was fun. Good place to stay if you are going to a concert at the Alerus or have kids that enjoy waterparks.
