The Ship Hotel

Utmärkt och med air con, vilket behövdes i hettan(>30 grader) Charmigt och nyrenoverat! Rekommenderas!!

Stayed two nights at The Ship hotel in August. The room ( no 7) was on the first floor. It was beautifully decorated and the ensuite bathroom, although quite tiny, had a large shower and good shelf space for toiletries. The juliet balcony looked up the hill, with a sea view to the right. We had a car parking space included, which was very helpful, as space is at a premium. We had breakfast in the restaurant, the food was good, the fresh orange juice delicious and the staff welcoming. We also had an evening meal . The menu wasn't extensive but the food was tasty and well presented. Overall a great hotel, well maintained, friendly staff and a good location in Leigh on Sea.

The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were so, so helpful and it's in a great position. Would definitely recommend

Recenty refurbished to a high standard, especially for what is basically a nice pub. Or room had a balcony, although no view, and air conditioning. The ensuite was very good, with a walk-in shower. The breakfast was good value and very nice, especially the full English. Staff were all very helpful and polite, particularly Alex. The location is excellent with loads of pubs and restaurants just over the railway line. We managed to park outside throughout our stay, but there are also several car parks close by.

The check-in could have been a bit smoother. I was asked to present the physical debit card, which I didn’t have with me. Apparently, Apple Pay or the credit card used to make the booking couldn’t be accepted instead. It also took a while to find a solution, as they had to remove extras and room service from the room. There’s also a slightly odd system where you have to use a different exit if you’re leaving before 7am.
