We enjoyed our overnight stay here. The neighborhood is quiet, and the unit is lovely. Karina is very friendly and helpful, letting us use the washer and dryer and providing detergent. Our pup Cody loved playing with Jimmy in the backyard.

The space was wonderful! Quick access to walking trails, natural light, all the little touches you could need, and the bathroom makes you feel like royalty. You can tell the owners put a ton of effort into preparing the space! It was also nice to have a grassy space for our dog to trot around in.

This property is in a quiet residential area near the Sacramento River Trail and downtown Redding. It’s set up nicely for one or two with a comfy king bed, reclining love seat, jacuzzi tub, huge shower and bathroom. The kitchen is small but adequately stocked to prepare simple meals. The welcome basket and roasted coffee is a nice, welcoming touch. It is small dog friendly with approval and the Hosts live on site and are very friendly. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the landscaping could use improvement (weeds and finishing touches like the inside) and could use a more private delineation of outside guest space. We also found some dishes were not cleaned from previous guests as all guests are asked to wash their own dishes. Overall, very nice and I would recommend and stay again.

We enjoyed our stay ver much! The family is a joy to visit with. They are accommodating and allowed us our space but were also very willing to visit. The bed is very comfortable and the tub is amazing! We got to enjoy the lemon tree harvest and the patio was perfect!

We came to Redding for a weekend of dog shows in nearby Anderson. The studio, located at the back of the house, offered a secure, fenced yard that gave our puppies room to run and exercise without the need for controlled walks. Not only were the hosts friendly and helpful but they took an interest in our sport and came to the dog show to watch our Russell Terriers being judged. If we come back for this dog show in future years, we will plan ahead and book this studio. The cost was comparable to what we would expect to pay for a nice hotel and offered far more in the way of convenience and ammenities.

A peaceful home on a quiet very low traffic street. The garden and outdoor seating spots were lovely. The bed was super comfortable, with good pillows, and top of the line good robes. The bathroom is a very good size, with everything that we needed, along with great towels and good light. The kitchen was adequate, again we didn't want for anything. I wanted to see the little dog, but no time due to our trip.

Karina briefly showed us how everything works, intoduced us to her sweet family, and everything just clicked from that point forward. The apartment is tastefully decorated yet very comfortable, including a lovely large bathroom with supplies well-stocked, a small but very useful kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, coffeemaker and coffee beans, toaster oven, toaster, microwave, dishes and silverware. The neighborhood feels safe and is quiet. My husband and I slept very comfortably. Highly recommended!

We have used VBRO/Home Away in multiple countries and multiple U.S. cities and have experienced lows and highs through these experiences. This visit was high. The room was comfortable, clean, and in a great location. The king-size bed was very comfortable. I had to leave town for a few days, and my wife felt complexly safe. The location West of Lake Redding Park is across from the path of the River Walk, connecting to miles of trails. The owners were gracious, kind, and attentive to our needs. The young son and daughter were friendly yet not intrusive or noisy. We loved the little dog “Jimmy.” My wife and I agreed we would recommend this location to any couple visiting Redding. We will return.

Just a few, end of the season, worn items and not quite as much sound insulation next to the shared laundry room as one would like kept this experience from being 5 stars. The bed, bath and kitchenette were very comfortable and the river walk perfect for a lovely stroll. Karina was the perfect host.

Wonderful location, friendly hosts make you feel right at home with still giving privacy. Loved all the beautiful trails nearby, right in the neighborhood. Will definitely be back!
Wonderful location, friendly hosts make you feel right at home with still giving privacy. Loved all the beautiful trails nearby, right in the neighborhood. Will definitely be back!

We had a lovely 5 day stay at the River Retreat. It was quiet, the bed was excellent, as was the bathroom. The location was a stone throw away from the river, and the trails there are just glorious to walk. Hosts were really great.

Nice safe neighborhood, area close to anything we needed ( food, gas ) Easy check in and easy to find . Very Clean and super comfortable bed !!!Did not do any cooking but they had amazing home roasted coffee for my morning.. Kitchen looked well supplied. Would for sure stay again.

We loved the studio - had more than enough space and all the bits and bobs that you’d expect. Really nice, safe neighborhood. Was a new one for us so we enjoyed the explore. Would stay again no problem!

We have used VBRO/Home Away in multiple countries and multiple U.S. cities and have experienced lows and highs through these experiences. This visit was high. The room was comfortable, clean, and in a great location. The king-size bed was very comfortable. I had to leave town for a few days, and my wife felt complexly safe. The location West of Lake Redding Park is across from the path of the River Walk, connecting to miles of trails. The owners were gracious, kind, and attentive to our needs. The young son and daughter were friendly yet not intrusive or noisy. We loved the little dog “Jimmy.” My wife and I agreed we would recommend this location to any couple visiting Redding. We will return.

A peaceful home on a quiet very low traffic street. The garden and outdoor seating spots were lovely. The bed was super comfortable, with good pillows, and top of the line good robes. The bathroom is a very good size, with everything that we needed, along with great towels and good light. The kitchen was adequate, again we didn't want for anything. I wanted to see the little dog, but no time due to our trip.

This property is in a quiet residential area near the Sacramento River Trail and downtown Redding. It’s set up nicely for one or two with a comfy king bed, reclining love seat, jacuzzi tub, huge shower and bathroom. The kitchen is small but adequately stocked to prepare simple meals. The welcome basket and roasted coffee is a nice, welcoming touch. It is small dog friendly with approval and the Hosts live on site and are very friendly. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the landscaping could use improvement (weeds and finishing touches like the inside) and could use a more private delineation of outside guest space. We also found some dishes were not cleaned from previous guests as all guests are asked to wash their own dishes. Overall, very nice and I would recommend and stay again.

The studio was very comfortable and had an amazing bathroom. I found the bed comfortable and enjoyed soaking in the tub. My only complaint was that sometimes the dinner smells from the house overpowered the studio. I only wish I'd had less work to do an the weather would have been better for exploring the trail near by. Thanks for the comfy retreat!

This stay was fantastic! The owners were so thoughtful in every little detail. The room was cozy, comfortable and a great size. I very much enjoyed the fresh coffee and how well stocked everything was. I appreciated them allowing us to have our small dog with us and we enjoyed a much relaxing weekend getaway. I would recommend this property to anyone. It’s in a beautiful neighborhood and centrally located to town and Lake Shasta. I’m not always comfortable when away from home, but that wasn’t an issue this time.

Karina briefly showed us how everything works, intoduced us to her sweet family, and everything just clicked from that point forward. The apartment is tastefully decorated yet very comfortable, including a lovely large bathroom with supplies well-stocked, a small but very useful kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, coffeemaker and coffee beans, toaster oven, toaster, microwave, dishes and silverware. The neighborhood feels safe and is quiet. My husband and I slept very comfortably. Highly recommended!

Such a great stay. Immaculately kept and everything you could possibly need is supplied. Only had a short overnight but was very relaxing and peaceful. Our dogs had a large yard to play in and we all felt super safe and happy. Location is outstanding, next to the river trail.

We had an amazing stay at the River Retreat Luxury King Studio in Redding. We came to visit my wife’s parents and needed a place close by with fast internet so we could work, and this spot delivered on everything. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and easy to cook in. We made rice and turkey with veggies, had plenty of room in the fridge, and even had our choice of two coffee setups. We used the coffee pot for our ground coffee, and it worked great. The studio had everything we needed, from kitchenware to paper towels to lots of clean bath towels. The bed was very comfortable, and there was plenty of space to get real work done. The internet was fast and reliable, and the TV had tons of channels and apps. The air conditioning kept the place perfectly cool, and the backyard was peaceful and inviting. They also have a really cool Jacuzzi bath. We’re more shower people, though, and the shower was awesome. It has a high shower-head, like the rain type styles, and the hot water kicked in within seconds. Our hosts were the best part. Friendly, welcoming, and always available, though we never had to ask for a thing. Overall, a fantastic stay and a place we’d happily book again. Thank you so much.
