Parking is very tricky- around back up a hill, limited spots. Check in wasn’t that smooth. Overall very comfortable hotel, great location!

Always love staying here! Disappointed with the parking situation, first in, first served. In communications regarding parking, we should have been informed there was a function on for 3 days so there wouldnt be any parking available. Great clean room and comfy bed. Shower didnt stay at same temp, kept going hot and cold both evening and morning. Great view of harbour. Breakfast was held in another room due to function and there werent enough tables. Buffet had a great selection, very yummy!

This is a nice place to stay however upgrades are needed. The furniture in rooms is worn and the arms of lounge chairs are worn and grubby. The lift lobby carpets on levels 8 9 and 10 are all covered with plastic to hide damage of some kind. The solitary lift from levels 7 to 10 was not operating. All this would be forgiven but there was not a word of explanation from staff for these poor standards.

Nice comfortable bed, good size room and can walk into Welly. Carpark is an extra $30 per night, not suitable for larger vehicles. Limited car parks so get in early.

Room was great size with perfect layout for 3 adults to share with 2 queen beds in seperate areas. View of harbour from balcony. Easy walk to museums and great restaurants. Use of gym with indoor pool and sauna/spa across the road was an unexpected bonus. Cute cafe 2 doors down, Lolas, served great coffee and food.

The property is split into two buildings, I had a room in the 7/8 block. It was ok, dated with an old bathroom, marks on walls, faded carpet etc but the bed was comfortable and the view was amazing which I appreciated. Also used the gym over the road which was great.

The property is within walking distance to Te Papa and other notable sights. We had a Harborview room and the view was very pleasant. The beds were so very comfortable. The lift doors were incredibly noisy and the lift broke down the day before we left. Although no ones fault, it was inconvenient for those that had difficulty with stairs.

Did not eat in Hotel. Parking is awkward, not many places in hotel parking which is $30. We were lucky and got a spot. Reception on 7th floor so bit hard to find. Room very nice with harbour view. Good shower and facilities. Close to inter islander ferry terminal ( about 15 min drive) near restaurants and cafes. All clean & good quality in room.

Ideally located. Staff was friendly and helpful but did not follow up on promise to text us when room ready. Room was clean however when we returned on the second day there was a putrid smell of sewage in the room. Maintenance dealt with it promptly when informed which makes me think this must be a recurring problem. Sometimes to do with the drain on the bathroom floor apparently!

The hotel was for a conference, the venue was clean and convenient. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. The room i had was dated but exceptionally clean. The view from my window was of the back of the hotel, which was a run down street area. Easy walk to the harbour . Amenities outside the Hotel were a 10 min walk. The hitel has amasing sea views if you are lucky to get the room with the views.

It's gone downhill since the last time i stayed. Paid for an air conditioned room and we were put in a room without air conditioning. Asked reception to put us in a room with air conditioning, which the lovely staff helped us with, but the room was in desperate need of a dust and the curtains had mould all over them. Not what I expect for the price I paid. Will probably look to stay somewhere else next time I'm there which is a pity as the location is great.

I really liked the view, the room and the staff. The only minor thing would be the balcony. There were lots of bird droppings scattered around. So perhaps the balconies could ba attended to more often. That said, it was a great stay and I’d strongly recommend the hotel.

Room was nice but dated. Carpet felt a bit sticky. Soup at restaurant was incredible. Loved every mouthful. Max at reception was so patient and understanding.

Entering through the parking area at back I was appalled at what looked like a dump!! Why don’t they clean up this area? A few plants etc. my room has a huge surprise. Best view in Wellington and a beautifully furnished updated room

Felt more like a business hotel. Well positioned. But the room was very very tight. Furnishings and fittings were dated. Staff were lovely. Evening meal in the restaurant was great. Renovations were taking place (which we knew) but that was not in our room!

Cons : I previously enjoyed my stay at this hotel, which made this visit quite disappointing. Half of the building was closed, and this was only communicated after the booking was confirmed. Additionally, the room did not have air conditioning, which is unexpected for a hotel of this standard. The condition of the carpet and shower also gave the room an outdated and worn impression. Pros : Service and location is good

I was particularly impressed by how quiet it was. Also, when I was looking for the overflow parking, a staff member walked out with me and physically showed me where it was...I was very grateful as I had completely missed it.

Staff were lovely. Bed was super comfortable. The access to the hotel was poorly communicated. We thought the entry of the hotel was on the waterfront - easy to come and go. We had to walk up stairs which were horrific, especially with luggage (we didn’t know about the road) or we had to walk up and down a hill which was the equivalent of 7 floors. If we had known then we would have changed hotels to be honest. An email two days before explaining a road change what taxi/uber drivers didn’t follow was poor. Then finding the actual entry was difficult. We luckily saw a staff member who explained to us where to go. There was no signs except for on the entrance door. We had two spoons. That was all the cutlery. We understood there was no kitchen but a knife and fork would have been handy especially for the price of the room. View was lovely. Room was quiet.

Had asked for parking and assured it was set. Showed up and no parking. Had to park car full of luggage on street a few blocks away and walk back to hotel. Exhausted and just wanted to eat and sleep. Called room service…”sorry we just closed” At least the bed was comfy.

We spent two nights at both ends of our world cruise out of Southampton. Staff were friendly and exceptionally efficient at time of booking in, and very helpful in organizing a taxi to take us to the airport when departing. I couldn't fault this accommodation. Definitely value for money.

The front desk staff members are excellent. They are super friendly and professional. They were quick to respond to any request and even followed up to make sure all was going well when I added extra nights for my stay. The view of the city skyline, the boats and the water were simply fabulous. Will definitely stay here when I return.

Great location. Way better than stay in the heart of downtown. Close to a beautiful beach and walk. Close to the hike up top Victoria mountain. The best part was the great breakfast included. Highly recommend this hotel.

We always stay at the Copthorne for its super handy location, close to shops, restaurants and the centre of town and we love the close up views of the harbour from the King Harbour View room we always choose. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. I would like a plunger in the room rather than instant coffee for the price you pay though.

For a family group the room we chose, with one queen and two single beds was ideal. The room was tidy and clean. The location is very handy for the Te Papa end of Wellington too. Parking is available for a fee on a first come, first served basis.

Located in an absolutely beautiful spot, close to everything. Super convenient position. Friendly staff happy to assist with any enquires. Very nice buffet breakfast and restaurant. Our only issue was that the aircon in the restaurant and bar areas was too cold. If you’re visiting Wellington this hotel ticks all the boxes in terms of location, views and comfort.

Great location within easy walking distance of Central Wellington. Staff very good and honest although the breakfast chef needs to lift his game as many of the trays for the breakfast buffe were either emopy or very close to.

Nice position overlooking the harbour, room was clean and had everything we needed. Reception staff excellent. We had an issue about the restaurant being fully booked out one evening to a large party to the detriment of paying guests which we took up with management.

The room service was terrible and the attitude of the restaurant manager was poor. Food took 1 hr 20 min , the order was wrong and was cold when it arrived. Manager didn’t seem bothered. Room and breakfast choice was excellent and location good. Just let down by room service.
