Great location. Steps away from the main park and all the things to see in old town. Very pretty bar and dining room. Lovely staff. GREAT A/C in the rooms. Comfortable beds. Cons: no tea in the rooms and terrible coffee — but you can’t buy coffee or tea at the breakfast area without buying breakfast. You have to go outside. Worst thing was the parking. Smallest garage with the tiniest pin curves. Literally ruined my check-in, I was so nervous about scratching our SUV. And hotel elevator isn’t on all floors — so we had to drive to P5 to park and then carry all our things up a flight of stairs. We avoided leaving the garage just because it’s almost impossible to pass cars coming up/down at the same time too. It’s all I thought about day of checkout.

Está al lado de un agradable parque y de la zona comercial de la ciudad, peatonal, con todo tipo de tiendas y opciones de restauración. El hotel está en un edificio histórico reformado y tiene unas instalaciones correctas, si bien se empieza a notar el paso del tiempo. El personal es muy amable. El desayuno es fantástico. Large room with Juliet balcony on front side facing busy street in nice neighborhood, old town 15 minute walk thru pretty park. Neighborhood lively with plenty of restaurants and coffee places. Desk staff efficient, pretty decor, beds comfortable, amenities in room adequate. Parking available for reasonable rate but garage is tight getting in and out of by American standards. Ya hemos venido a este hotel varias veces y seguiremos repitiendo. Después de la reforma, las habitaciones han quedado muy bien y son muy cómodas. Lo único que no hemos entendido es la posición de las luces: las del baño en las mesillas y bastante lío entre ellas. Pero la habitación está muy bien. Mi única pega es la comida: el desayuno, aunque aceptable, es bastante flojo para ser un hotel de 5 estrellas. Esta vez hemos pedido servicio de habitaciones por la noche ya que nos era más cómodo y me ha parecido una tomadura de pelo. Entiendo que este servicio suele ser más caro pero un sándwich club con 5 patatas y el pollo sin terminar de hacer (17€), un tabulé de verduras (17€) era muy básico… y el brownie (7€) eran dos trocitos que te entraban en la boca de golpe y vi al día siguiente en el desayuno. Puedo entender el precio pero estaría mejor que las raciones fueran algo más contundentes

A 5 star is a category hotels must earn with great facilities and remarkably excellent customer service and attention to every detail. Unfortunately, Barcelo Oviedo Cervantes lacks what it takes to deserve a 5 star. We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to show at the bar (the only one at the hotel) to take our order. The food came back to us cold. The alarm started to sound one night at around midnight; it woke up everybody, and the loud sound did not stop for about 20 minutes. No explanation given. Nothing of that sort. At reception, the courtesy water station with cold water infused with mint lacked glasses. Not once, but twice. The breakfast was good, but not good enough for a 5 star hotel. Our superior room was good. What we most regret is the lack of friendliness and courtesy of a staff virtually uninterested in making a good impression. On the contrary. The reality is that something is off with Barcelo Oviedo Cervantes. The amazing kindness of the people of Oviedo we that we encountered and enjoyed every day was completely absent from the staff of this hotel. It is unfortunate. Our experience at other Barcelo hotels (in Istanbul, for instance) was remarkably superior. As said, Barcelo Oviedo Cervantes is more like a well appointed 3 star hotel with a staff that does not live the meaning of hospitality. We will not come back to this hotel. To Oviedo? Of course!

Hotel in beautiful building, although the rooms don’t have the same ‘grandeur’. The rooms are large though and everything you want is in walking distance. I wasn’t impressed with breakfast. Even if you’re not a late sleeper some dishes are empty and aren’t refilled. Warm dishes aren’t really kept warm. For the price there are probably better options outside.

Questo hotel lo ho scelto a seguito di aver provato la Barceló compagnia a Madrid. Davvero impeccabile. Gentilezza alla reception, stanze spaziose con tutto a disposizione e colazione super con tante opzioni senza glutine e senza lattosio. Magari sarebbe meglio dare un cestino con tutto quando si chiede piuttosto che scegliere dal cassetto. Grazie mille! Ritornerò sicuramente per le mie trasferte!
