Property was clean. But not maintained very well. Guest washer out of service, and one of the elevators was not working. Breakfast was good. There's a convenient store and a Jack in the box in walking distance. That was nice. But, the walls were thin. I could hear everyone who was in the hallway all hours of the day and night.

The property itself is just old and outdated. The beds were pretty comfortable. I’m not entirely sure how well they clean the rooms considering we found somebody’s sock underneath our sink in the bathroom. The area around the pool is broken and cracked, but not to the point that I would consider dangerous. The pool is also quite small and there is no hot tub. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Pool was super green so our evening plan of swimming was not possible. My kid ended up covered in bites from the room. I don’t think I would book here again despite the staff being awesome and the rest of the facility being nice.

did not get to stay. was on 2nd floor and after checking in was told that elevator to come down would not work unless we called them to send it up. there were children running all around on the 1st floor, and it was employee kids. the tv didn't work neither need the wifi.

The staff was amazing, professional and helpful. The pool was disgusting, would not enter, and was what we looked forward to the most. The grounds immediately surrounding were very much in need of attention. Ice machine and One elevator not working

The staff was very polite and friendly. Our room wasn't ready when we got there at about 330- check in is at 3- but they worked hard to get it clean quickly and we only had to wait about 15-20 minutes. The manager said they had a lot of late check outs that morning. Overall the hotel appeared and smelled clean except on the 2nd night when we got to our floor the smell of Marijuana was so heavy, we could hardly breathe. Thankfully the smell didn't continue into our room. Bed was comfortable, they replaced our towels daily but didn't do a full clean daily which is OK because i don't even make my bed at home so why would i need someone to do it for me on vacation. Breakfast looked pretty standard though my husband said the pancakes were raw in the middle so we ate somewhere else the 2nd day. Parking could use some help as it didn't seem like there's many spaces. I like that this hotel is close to lots of things in the area. Overall I'd say this hotel is pretty good.

Wifi, tv, and phone didn’t work. Had no service all weekend. The air conditioning in our room didn’t work and we had to wait for maintenance to come check it out in the morning with a family of 5 sweating in the Texas summer heat because they had no available rooms to move us. Got moved in the morning. Breakfast was great and the staff was overall very kind.

Overall our stay was okay. We only stayed one night. I slept pretty good. The bathroom was upgraded. Which I liked. Above the shower looks like there has been a flood or leak at some point. Our bathroom sink was clogged. My husband tried to undo it and pulled out clumps of hair and who knows what else. So gross. The carpet was dirty. Lastly, the smell of the place is bad. Idk what the smell is though. Mildew? The pool? Idk. I thought maybe it was just the lobby area, but no. We were on the 4th floor and it smelled the same.

Customer service was good/normal. The hotel on the other hand was horrible. My 67year old mother and my 10 year old niece stayed on 3rd floor which felt and smelled like it had flooded recently. They had dehumidifiers outside every room on the third floor and on second floor they had only 3 dehumidifiers in the hallway. The second floor also smelled of water and mold. My cousin stayed in the 4th floor and did not smell anything and said there were no dehumidifiers outside in the hallway. We paid for two rooms for three nights each, so around $800. Only one elevator worked, hallways and rooms smelled wet and mildew, kitchen was out of service ( free breakfast was cereal and bagels). They should not rent rooms that are not fit to sleep in. They would not change my mom’s room to a new one, stating “ you booked through a third party, we can not give you a new room”. DO NOT BOOK this hotel

1. We reserved a king bed and we were given a room with two queens. 2. The tv cable wouldn’t work, they sent a staff member to come and re calibrate the cable and got it to work, but it turned off again before the end of the night. 3. Mold! Terrible moldy shower in the shower door track. A simple spray and a brush will clean that out. 4. There was a clock radio next to our bed that made static noises all night. I even got down under the table to try to unplug it but the plug was covered up. I really expected better from this hotel.

The bathroom was not very clean. When I went to shower, there was a wad of black hair in the bottom of the drain just swirling around while I showered. So gross! Side note the attendant at the desk was very nice!!!

While the staff was amazing, the condition of the property is poor. The third floor smells horribly of mold/mildew to the point that I’m concerned it may be a health hazard. There are mold spots on the ceiling and the fixtures are rusted. One of the outlets in our room had clearly been overheated/burned as well. There were also stains on some of the bedding. Overall, I wouldn’t be able to recommend this location in good faith unless a lot of work is done to remedy the problems.

Hotel smelled humid as if the floors have water damage. They had dehumidifiers all throughout the hallway. The rooms smelled like water, but in a bad way, like mold. They would not give me in my granddaughter, a new room because We booked through a third-party. They said do not book this hotel. It smells like mold on all the floors. It is not suitable to sleep in. Only one elevator was working, the breakfast was only cereal, and bagels due to the oven not working, all the floors smelled of mold. DO NOT BOOK!

Hotel has been here a while and looks and feels a little tired. Staff was very friendly and helpful - my wife is handicapped and the staff gladly provided extra pillows and towels, and a portable fan for the bathroom - it gets hot in there and there is no exhaust fan. Bed was pretty firm and we needed the extra pillows to make it work. Breakfast provided was solid - pancake machine not working one morning and some hot oatmeal would be nice (only instant available). The HIE cinnamon rolls are one reason we chose to stay here. Too cold/windy at this time of year [around Thanksgiving; to visit family] to use the pool, but saw they had a lift chair to allow disabled to access the pool (which my wife would need). Would stay here again.

Very clean and comfortable. Service was great and the staff was very friendly. My only complaint is my room was on the first floor at the end of the hall by the side door….unfortunately that is where people would go outside to smoke and I could smell it in the room not to mention they were out there both nights of my stay laughing and cutting up like they were at a bar.

Front desk staff super friendly. Room was spacious and beds were super comfy. Disliked the water pressure in shower was weak and took too long to get hot. Definitely don’t get a room closest to the lobby - lobby speakers playing music all night and elevator binging made for restless sleep. (Next time we’ll request room away from lobby.) overall a very comfortable space.

Good experience overall - staff were very friendly and helpful and everything was very clean. We just seemed to get the room that needed a bunch of things fixed - phone didn’t work, sliding shower doors were broken so there was barely enough room to squeeze through the opening to get into the shower, sink faucet leaked water all over the counter every time it was used, toilet flush handle had to be pushed back up every time you flushed so it wouldn’t keep running, outlets on the wall under the TV didn’t work, and one of the can lights in the ceiling by the window flickered constantly when it was on. It was also a little surprising that during our 3-night stay, the cleaning staff didn’t really do much to our room other than empty the trash and replace a couple used towels & rags that we used on the first day. The breakfasts were great though, so thank you for that!

The air conditioning in our room didn’t work and we had to wait for maintenance to come check it out in the morning with a family of 5 sweating in the Texas summer heat because they had no available rooms to move us. Got moved in the morning. Breakfast was great and the staff was overall very kind.

We were in a room at the end of the hall, housekeeping adjacent & across the hall, door to stairway across from our room…very noisy with people coming and going. Bathroom did not have an exhaust fan….so lots of humidity in the room. The people were great, just the wrong room for a light sleeper.

When I arrived at the hotel, the staff treated me very poorly. They asked for my ID, and while everything seemed fine at first, they didn’t hand my ID back to me as I gave it to them. they placed it on the me pick it up myself. The attitude was terrible, and I felt it was discriminatory. The person was a bald African American man, and I am Hispanic. I felt very discriminated against and was extremely upset with how he spoke to me. I do not recommend this place. When we got to the room, it smelled really bad, a very strong odor, possibly something to do with the air. Honestly, I do not recommend it at all. However, the African American woman working in the morning, who is tall with long hair, was very kind and attentive. I believe she handles breakfast and is very polite and helpful with everyone. Worst customer service. Broken faucet and door lock. Tried to move us from a two bed bedroom to a one bed when there were two elder ladies and one adult. And if we did not moved they treated to call the police.

Hotel has been here a while and looks and feels a little tired. Staff was very friendly and helpful - my wife is handicapped and the staff gladly provided extra pillows and towels, and a portable fan for the bathroom - it gets hot in there and there is no exhaust fan. Bed was pretty firm and we needed the extra pillows to make it work. Breakfast provided was solid - pancake machine not working one morning and some hot oatmeal would be nice (only instant available). The HIE cinnamon rolls are one reason we chose to stay here. Too cold/windy at this time of year [around Thanksgiving; to visit family] to use the pool, but saw they had a lift chair to allow disabled to access the pool (which my wife would need). Would stay here again.

The stay was fine. Close to the pot, which was perfect for our family cruise. Customer service was amazing. Fred was such a kind and fun interactive person. But somehow, I was double charged. I had already paid through the hotels.com app...so i was not supposed to be charged again for two rooms. Working with my bank now to correct the issue. I am unable to reach anyone via phone or email.

Waited 30 mins for check in and they gave me unclean room after complaining made me wait another 30 mins before providing a room. Property on whole itself so unclean including elevator. No body wash in body wash dispenser they provided. No enough towels or sheets. Over all disappointmented with the stay. Break fast is good

Good experience overall - staff were very friendly and helpful and everything was very clean. We just seemed to get the room that needed a bunch of things fixed - phone didn’t work, sliding shower doors were broken so there was barely enough room to squeeze through the opening to get into the shower, sink faucet leaked water all over the counter every time it was used, toilet flush handle had to be pushed back up every time you flushed so it wouldn’t keep running, outlets on the wall under the TV didn’t work, and one of the can lights in the ceiling by the window flickered constantly when it was on. It was also a little surprising that during our 3-night stay, the cleaning staff didn’t really do much to our room other than empty the trash and replace a couple used towels & rags that we used on the first day. The breakfasts were great though, so thank you for that!

I did not like being awakened midnight by another guest with a key to my room. He was checked into my room. I was awakened by the door opening. I scream get out of here & he apologized & left. He was in shock too. I called front desk & was told sorry & that was it. That morning I looked for the day time manager but no one was there. I called & finally got to speak to someone & was told it occasionally happens. I will definitely block the door so this can not happen again.

We came to Galveston for a weekend family getaway and the prices on the Island were a bit too high for us. We decided to drive to Texas City and let me tell you that it is so worth the drive back and forth! Breakfast was awesome and room were clean and all the staff was awesome!

When we arrived we had to wait almost 20 min for someone to get to the counter to check in the kitchen ovens for the hot breakfast were out of order the whole week so there was no hot breakfast which was the main reason for booking the hotel and the was a very musty smell throughout the hotel the a/c didn’t really cool the room

Hotel smelled humid as if the floors have water damage. They had dehumidifiers all throughout the hallway. The rooms smelled like water, but in a bad way, like mold. They would not give me in my granddaughter, a new room because We booked through a third-party. They said do not book this hotel. It smells like mold on all the floors. It is not suitable to sleep in. Only one elevator was working, the breakfast was only cereal, and bagels due to the oven not working, all the floors smelled of mold. DO NOT BOOK!

We stay at this hotel, 2 or 3 times a year and it has always been great. However this time, it had been bought out or under new management. The first room they put us in had not been cleaned since the last guest. The 2nd room, we had to have management come into twice because the TV was not working. Got up in the middle of the night and the water was not working. No shower, toilet or sink. The next morning the breakfast had not been restocked. The management seemed nice enough, but we will not stay there again. Very dissapointed.

This was a frustrating stay. Room was booked through expedia but selected pay at hotel so I should have been able to get a receipt FROM THE HOTEL upon checkout. This is needed for work for reimbursement. I still have yet to receive it.
