UTO KULM - Top of Zurich

I have a bit of a mixed review, one staff provided repeatedly hostile service, and made me want to leave the morning after check in. He was the evening worker who checked us in. The hostility carried into booking our spa time, and I avoided the front desk and him after this. The hotel itself was lovely, I enjoyed the views, the food, and found my room very comfortable. Sehr gepflegtes Zimmer und eine kleine feine Sauna welche wir gerne benutzt haben. Ganz speziell war der Blick aus der Sauna auf die Stadt Zürich bei Nacht. Check-Out erst um 11h, dies kam uns sehr entgegen

Es wird besonders betont, dass das Gebiet ohne Autos ist. Aber ich persönlich habe an nur einem Tag zwei gesehen. Das Zimmer war auf der 1. Etage, das Zimmerfenster blickte auf den Gang und die Wand, der Abstand vom Fenster zur Wand beträgt maximal einen Meter. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage, es gibt einen Ventilator an der Decke, es gibt keine Luftzufuhr und es ist stickig im Zimmer. Der Zugang zum Wellnessbereich ist inbegriffen. Wir kamen dort in Gewändern an, aber unser Zimmerschlüssel konnte die Tür zum SPA nicht öffnen. Ich musste an die Rezeption gehen. Sie haben die Karte repariert, aber dann konnten wir unser Zimmer nach dem SPA nicht öffnen und mussten ein zweites Mal an die Rezeption gehen, damit unsere Karte noch einmal repariert wird. Auch der Preis für das Frühstück, 30 Franken pro Person, hat mich überrascht. Anderswo, wo ich war, hat es 15 gekostet. Der Ort, an dem sich das Hotel befindet, ist sehr schön. Gute Aussicht auf die Stadt und den See. Aber wir würden nicht ins Hotel zurückkehren.

The view is amazing from the rooms. The wellness is not crowded. The restaurant is cozy and the food is perfect.

The view from this hotel is incredible. Even with the current rail replacement bus to get you there, it is well worth it. The room was spacious and clean, but some of the decor felt a little tired. The service wasn’t the best (we asked twice times for robes and slippers to use the wellness centre despite being assured before arrival that they’d be in our room), and water was only provided for the first night. The breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed that on a terrace with the amazing view.

Die Aussicht der Unterkunft war wunderschön. Die Speiseauswahl war sehr gut. Frühstück und Abendessen waren beides sehr gut und es gab eine gute und große Auswahl. Die Zimmer waren ebenfalls sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Spabereich war leider etwas klein, aber man hat ihn durch eine Reservierung für sich alleine.

Our stay at the hotel was overall very pleasant. The place is beautiful, and the views of the surrounding area are stunning. Getting to the hotel from Zürich SBB is currently a bit difficult due to ongoing railway construction. You need to take a train from platform 22, and then transfer to two buses: EV1 and EV2 goes smooth. The route goes through 3 Zurich zones – a one-way ticket costs about 9 CHF, but you can also buy a 24-hour ticket for around 18 CHF. We spent the first night in a room with a view of a concrete wall, but the next day we were moved to a beautiful room with a view of the city. The hotel staff were quite friendly and spoke good English. The spa we had booked in advance was well-equipped – bathrobes and slippers were provided. I would definitely go back, but only if I could get a room with a view.

The breakfast is excellent: a wide selection of breakfast types and fresh bread options are available, and they can also assist with special dietary requirements.

Otelin konumu çok güzel. Utililberg’te zürihin en tepe noktasında bulunuyor. Gece 10da gitmemize rağmen bizi tren istasyonundan arabayla aldılar. Otele ulaşmakta hiç sorun çekmedik. Bebeğimiz olduğunu söylemeyi unuttuğumuz halde bize bebek yatağı temin ettiler. Resepsiyondaki hanımefendi ve bizi almaya gelen hanımefendiye tekrar teşekkürlerimi iletiyorum. Oda gayet temizdi. Odamız manzaraya bakıyordu. Kış aylarında sisle kaplı olmasına rağmen çok güzel hissettirdi. Otelin konumunun havası çok güzel. Bebek arabasıyla inişte hiç sorunla karşılaşmadık. Otelden tren istasyonuna gitmek 7-8 dk sürüyor. Bizi rahatsız edecek hiçbir şeyle karşılaşmadık. Kesinlikle tekrar tercih edebileceğim bir yer oldu

Hôtel avec une situation exceptionnelle en haut d'une colline au dessus du centre ville de Zurich à moins de 30 min de la gare centrale. La vue est absolument incroyable sur la ville, le lac et les montagnes au loin. On ne s'en lasse pas car la vue est toujours différente en fonction du moment de la journée ou de la nuit et de la météo. C'est également un départ de randonnée sympatique. L'hôtel en lui même est très bien, les chambres sont bonnes et le buffet du petit déjeuner varié et de bonne qualité. Vraiment un très bon choix pour un weekend ville et nature à Zurich.

Super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!! (Zumindest für die Schweiz) Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer war sehr sauber, gross und bequem, die Aussicht und die Umgebung waren sehr schön.

Spennende sted. Men litt slitt. Ingen aircondition! Sov dårlig pga varmen. Ellers dårlig på service, glemte vinen til hovedretten, vi fikk ikke sitte ved utsiktsbordene ute til frokost mens andre fikk. Hørtes ut som fyrverkeri natt til lørdag over kl 24. Ellers veldig rent, nydelig utsikt og masse spennende turmuligheter.

We loved the staff. But the cleanliness side needs improvement. We saw 2 cockroaches in our room.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room itself was very clean cosy - all facilities worked well and we enjoyed access to English TV channels. I slept like a log every night. The views of Zurich were outstanding and beautiful. Our arrival was made tricky by the engineering works on the rail service. This resulted in our maps directing us to walk up the mountain from Albisgütli. Once we’d started, we had to carry on but it is quite a climb!! Not recommended for inexperienced hikers! Day 2, we learned of the bus replacement service which ran perfectly and served us well for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was delicious and the ‘marketstall’ food van served beverages and snacks - excellent nuggets and pretzels!

Staying at the top of Zurich is great. However it was troubling having to pull our luggage up a huge hill to get to the hotel. And they also had no air conditioning in the room. With it being summer, it was absolutely boiling in the room. However, nice stay, the view and the restaurant are great.

Got there at 9pm so we walked the hill in the dark. It was adequately lit. Our triple room was much larger than expected. Bed was beyond comfortable! The shower was small but had great water pressure. No conditioner - that was tough. Restaurant was pricey but the food was fabulous. Can’t go wrong with this place!

Best sleep I ever had

It was a great stay and excellent value for money. This was my second time staying, and it was just as comfortable as the first. As for the room, the only constructive feedback would be: • A larger smart TV would be a nice upgrade. • A latch on the windows would make it easier to keep them open on warm nights. • While there is an ironing service available, having an iron and ironing board in the room would be more convenient. Overall, it’s a great hotel with lovely rooms, and with a few small improvements it could easily reach a 5-star experience.

Access is a nightmare requiring 2 different busses and a 10 minute walk up a steep/stepped gravel drive way. No air con in the rooms was also not expected for a 4 star hotel.

The instructions state the train is available every 15 minutes.....however the last train is 11:15. We arrived at the station at 11:41(in the rain). The young lady (Kamila) working the reception was wonderful. Not only did she tell us how to get to the hotel but because of my age and condition she drove to pick up point and gave us a ride to the property. She was courteous, professional and efficient. Without her help our review would be much lower! I would like to suggest that in your directions you add that the last train available is 11:15 PM.

Beautifully situated, but you can stay at similar places with much less hassle (auto free, train travel, etc.) Thank goodness it stormed the night we were there or we would have roasted alive with no AC. The wait staff in the restaurant were very kind, however, the girls at the reception were very snobby. They seemed annoyed that they needed to do their jobs (answer basic questions/check in/check out). One in particular was downright rude and was definitely not the warm welcome you would expect when paying so much to stay. Love the luggage service from the train station!

Nobody answer phone after 6pm, it's 45 mins uphill hike to hotel, no car access, worst Hotel communication ever experienced especially if you are a tourist, Stranded overnight and they just take your money with no care.

I love the location. The hotel is ok. We booked 2 days. We arrived on the 31st and left on the 2nd of Jan. New Years eve the hotel has a private party and a private dinner for people who made reservations. At night around 11pm I went outside and took pictures because the view is amazing. As I go back inside, I'm not sure if thats a security guard, I didn't ask. He stopped and interrogated me for entering the hotel saying theres a private party going on and it's for guests only. So I said im a guest of the hotel but i didn't make reservation of the party . He didn't believe me and demanded proof of a guest key and an ID. So i showed my guest key and entered. He still follwed me to the main lobby and and asked the receptionist to check. People were looking at me at that time, like im gate crashing. So i showed the receptionists my rm key and the receptionists asked me to write my name which i complied. The computer verified that i checked in for 2 days. Afterwards, both of them didn't even apologize. Im a traveler. I've been to luxurious hotels and have never been interrogated or harassed like that. I didn't tell my boys because I didn't want to ruin their New year. We were there for the view, and that was the last leg of our vacation. The only thing that makes me feel better are the cats that are always in the lobby early in the morning. Those sweet cats made me feel better during our last day at the hotel.

Amazing views, quiet in the evenings. Definitely a walk up hill to the property, but they do come to pick up your luggage at the bottom and transport it up. About a 20 min train ride very convenient for public transportation. I recommend getting the Zurich card you get free entrance to museums and unlimited public transportation. They also will provide adaptor when ask, which definitely came in handing as I completely forgot. Enjoyed our stay.

I didn’t expect the hike from the bus stop to the hotel but luckily we packed in backpacks so we didn’t have to lug anything behind us. Beautiful views! Highly recommend!

Property is great, far from city, no car service is hard

The view from our triple room was STUNNING, the room, and particularly the bathroom, were warm (it was the coldest month of the year), the grounds were AMAZING as it was still the Christmas/ New Year season.

El lugar es bello ! Lo único malo es el traslado para llegar al hotel tenes que subir caminando unos diez minutos, no tienen un servicio para irte a buscar, solo te van a buscar el equipaje!

The hotel needs a small bus to transport guests from the railway station to the hotel - ready to pick up from the bus/train. Some guests find it easy to walk the 10 minutes uphill others find it difficult and surprising - and is not aware of the possibility to call the hotel for transportation.

Posizione incantevole, qualche disagio per raggiungere l' Albergo vista l' abolizione del treno. I pullman sostitutivi non sempre sono stati presenti. Per il resto consigliatissimo

I wish I knew the closest train was out of service before booking. I loved the hotel and the nearby walks/hikes, but it takes an hour to get to town. They have a replacement bus service (two separate buses) to the next closest station. Those buses only run from 6:20am to midnight. This is rough for some travellers. It is also hard to figure out how to get there at first. Our map took us to the bottom of the mountain at the back side instead of the front, and we had to hike up with our stuff. Avoid the tram - take the nearest train to Schweighof train station then catch the two busses near (EV1 or EV2)z Do not book this place if you have an early morning or late night planned - you will be paying too much money in taxis. Overall the location is beautiful, and we loved our stay. I just can’t stress enough how the location is quite tough for a person who is not familiar with the area and the transit. Avoid Apple & Google maps and rely on the Zurich metro website. We spent a lot of time in the hotel as it was harder to get and stay in town for long periods. If you love to come & go from town and eat out for every meal, avoid staying here. The hotel food is extremely pricy. You need to make grocery runs and take back food as there are no other close options.

Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal, tolle Zimmer mit einem fantastischen Ausblick wirklich einmalig. Beim Frühstück war etwas wenig Auswahl , da erwarte ich bei dem hohen Preis schon etwas mehr / veganerInnen werden leider fast garnicht fündig.
