Comfort Suites Independence - Kansas City

Hot tub had a few inches of gross water in it. Condition of hotel was a bit worn but okay. Found toys and old trash in our room so not sure how thorough they clean the rooms.

The room was clean, older and could use some updating.

Nice staff upon arrival and good coffee. Traveling with two kids and two adults. Adequate room but definitely could use some TLC - shabby/dingy tub tile/caulk, loose faucet in the sink, loose light fixture next to the bed, dinged up walls, stain on carpet. Wasn’t expecting a five-star stay, but there are little things that would class this place up. Also the pool water looked murky and the hot tub was empty (no sign or explanation). The place worked fine for us for the one night we stayed but I was glad we weren’t going to be there longer.

The equipment in the gym was broken. Many dumbells were missing. The floor was dirty and there were no yoga mats. Our room was never cleaned during our 4 day visit. The water pressure in the shower was low and sometimes the temperatures were too cool. The front desk clerk was hardly ever visible. At times, the hallways and lobby smelled like pot. There was a homeless person sleeping in the lobby on one day and he tried to say he was using our meeting room. Our group leader, I think, ended up talking to the front desk and the person was gone after that.
