Went to Days Inn - Kill Devil Hills for the long 4th of July weekend. Went to the front desk, our room was ready. Great ! Where is the elevator? We don't have one. How about a luggage cart? We don't have them. I didn't see this on the website. "Sorry" I am 67 & my wife is 65, carrying all out luggage, food, cooler, etc. up those steps physically hurt us both. No offer or availability of a first floor room. Get everything up stairs. Go to the ice machine, it's broken. They are sending someone somewhere to get ice. Later our shower drain was clogged. No one from maintenance was on duty. The girl from the front desk finally came up and got it opened up. Nice location on the beach, nice pool, OK breakfast. Would not stay there again or recommend to someone else.

For the value, we really enjoyed this hotel. It was clean and very welcoming inside. THe front desk people were very nice, however they refused an early check-in, which is always hot or miss and that's fine. They did give us our parking pass and allowed us to atleast park so we could hit the beach. The ice machine was broken for our entire stay which was disappointing, but luckily there is a gas station across the street. The pool was spacious and somewhat clean, the grounds and rooms were clean. Beach access is convenient HOWEVER there is a massive hill you have to cross over to get to the beach. It doesn't look bad until you're hauling beach chairs, bags, coolers, etc. with flip flops on in 90 degree heat. That is the ONLY downfall about this place. Id love to stay here again, but that hill is a killer! :)

The Property has old world charm with its beautiful lobby and welcoming fire in fireplace. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very nice breakfasts each morning. Our stay was a bit challenging at times as I have some disabilities and there is no elevator and no clear walkway to the beach.

One large dune between propert and beach. 2 stories. 2nd floor room access means must be able to climb stairs; and access to rooms is from outside. costlier 2nd floor rooms claim to have water view which means you can see the ocean over the top of dune; clean and neat room. One day visit and pool was unavailable- being drained. Continental breakfast okay but good temp warm at best by the time I arrived at end of service, Best part about property was price and beach proximity. Nice for one night stay but disappointed pool not accessible.

staff was wonderful. I couldn't believe they cleaned my room. I didn't think motels did that anymore. Sheet and towels looked new and so white. Breakfast attendant was always washing tables and resuppling food trays. Nice to be so close to the beach. Pool was clean and well maintained. Great couple of days staying here. Great job.

Realizing that it's still offseason, I was still disappointed in this stay. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. The breakfast was frozen breakfast sandwiches that were supposed to be refrigerated. Did not nuke well. No eggs, grits, biscuits. Just cereal and refrierated items. Room was clean, but floor was gritty with sand. In room microwave sounded like a helicopter taking off. Bed was made once in 3 days, but coffee and shampoo were never replaced. I expected more from past experience in this hotel.

Everything seemed clean, bed was comfortable, room was spacious and homey. Until, we found cockroaches in and outside of our room. Housekeeping also came into our room while we were out, without notice which was very disturbing for us as it felt as if they invaded our privacy. Other than making our bed, they didn’t clean up very much because there was still a dead roach in the floor by the window all weekend. I wouldn’t stay there again.

All In All The room was clean except for one big thing. The floor was disgusting. Our room had a tiled flaura.That was a dark Gray.We did not realize how filthy it was.Until my granddaughter was walking around the room barefooted.Her feet turned black in no time Other Than the Everything else was very clean. We had the best stay. I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel in my life. We accidentally spilled a bit of water in the carpet so I grabbed a white paper towel to dab it up. I fully expected a bit of yuck factor but the towel was completely clean! The only thing that came out of that carpet was water. The shower was a bit too small but it worked. The other guests slammed their doors in the morning starting about 6 but it’s a hotel and people can’t be controlled. It was relatively quiet and it is close to everything. It is mere steps to the beach with the added bins of an outdoor shower. The pool was lovely and chemicals were not overused. The breakfasts were nice and the staff was incredible. I highly recommend this property.

Just terrible stay. The property is old and not kept up. Everything is antiquated. The bed was very uncomfortable. The pillows are a joke. Could not get comfortable no matter whichever position I tried to put my head down. This is 2024 but the amenities in the hotel are still from the 70’s. There were roaches in the room. Notified the cleaning staff. The housekeeper and the front desk staff were very nice.

We planned a quick get away before school started so there were limited options of availability. I would definitely stay here again. The room was small and the beds were definitely not queens - more like a full. The location was perfect and right on the beach. The pedestal sink in the bathroom was not very efficient and there was little space to put cosmetic items. The price was reasonable. The breakfast was just ok. The staff were very nice. Not 5 star accommodations by any means but if you are looking for a clean, affordable beachfront property - this is it.

Our room was very small, our bathroom was so small only one could get inside and could not close the door. The shower is so small you bump your elbows on the sides. The air conditioner worked, but it was loud and I woke up every time it came on during the night. The breakfast was almost gone by 8:30 am, no juice, cold eggs, cold sausage. Good coffee and tea.

I liked the short walk to the beach and the complimentary breakfast. The suite room was very spacious especially if you’re traveling with kids. The floors around the sleeping area need to be updated from the room I stayed in. The floor had a lot of weak spots in it but it didn’t bother me. I would definitely stay here again!

Our third stay at Days Inn. Suite was was roomy with microwave, mini fridge/freezer, faux leather loveseat & chair. Also good size desk w/ office chair. Lots of lighting. Very comfortable beds. Had some trouble with cable connection, so unable to watch a movie one night. Plenty of ports for phone charging. Nice, fluffy towels in bathroom.

I used to stay at this property periodically years ago, and then it came off as old-fashioned in a charming way. Now, unfortunately, it seems old-fashioned in a "badly in need of updating" way. The rooms at least still seem reasonably clean, but all of the mechanical equipment in the room (A/C, vent fans, refrigerator) was so noisy in operation that I could barely sleep, especially when added to the frequent noise from employees entering and exiting a storage room that was right outside my room door at all hours. Also, the guest wifi was terrible throughout my stay, unstable, sometimes disappearing completely, and glacially slow even when connected. As a result, I basically had to tether to my own phone in order to have internet access whatsoever.

The rooms at least still seem reasonably clean, but all of the mechanical equipment in the room (A/C, vent fans, refrigerator) was so noisy in operation that I could barely sleep, especially when added to the frequent noise from employees entering and exiting a storage room that was right outside my room door at all hours. Also, the guest wifi was terrible throughout my stay, unstable, sometimes disappearing completely, and glacially slow even when connected. As a result, I basically had to tether to my own phone in order to have internet access whatsoever.

I enjoyed the quaintness of this hotel, however, rooms were very small. The bathroom was extremely small with limited space to put things. Also the rooms are not insulated at all and I could literally here what was being said in a room across the hall from mine. It was, however, right on the beach which was a huge plus had I been going to the beach!

We booked through Expedia- paid $289 per night- noticed prior to check in the advertised price per the hotel website was $90 cheaper- I made mention when checking in and it was essentially- what you booked the room on Expedia is what you pay. We received our keys and advised we would have to go back outside and follow the side walk to the back of the building (we were checking in during tropical storm Debbie). We approached a set of steps noticed under the steps were several bowls and trash under the steps - followed by a group of 7-8 cats running away as we approached the steps. Our view consisted of super high dunes (no water insight) and the cat’s area. The room is small and dated. Remote did not work for the tv- beds were comfortable. In the bathroom, towel rack broken. We checked out early and went a few miles down for the remainder of our stay.

checkin was a nightmare, as Wyndam system for payment was down-meaning multiple credit cards declined AND cash not accepted. The front desk person was initially very dismissive about our credit cards, offered no alternative other then for us to call the credit card companies for help. We weren't the only ones, long line of folks wanting to checkin! Finally after about 15 minutes, corporate Wyndham notified the front desk person of system-wide problem (after at least 6 different credit cards were tried from us and others!!!) Also no elevator, although luckily only 2 floors. Pluses_very close to ocean, and ocean view rooms WERE ocean view! Had a good breakfast, and clean rooms.

Housekeeping also came into our room while we were out, without notice which was very disturbing for us as it felt as if they invaded our privacy. We chose Wydham in KDH based on reviews and price. We didn't need something fancy for two days, just clean, comfortable and a view of the ocean. The staff provided all of that and more!! The staff was very accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of amenities were included. We will definitely choose Wyndham @ KDH in the future for short getaways!!

Very nice hotel! Could tell it was recently updated and the room kept very clean. My boyfriend and I were there for 7 nights, our first time to OBX and it was absolutely wonderful. We were originally only supposed to stay for 5 nights, but we were having an amazing time and the hotel staff was EXCELLENT. All the ladies at the front desk and the housekeeping staff really made our trip so much more incredible which is why we decided to stay 2 extra nights. Tanya Curtis is an excellent GM and truly made our stay that much more wonderful. We absolutely LOVED her! We will definitely be back!

An older hotel with some classy features. Beautiful wood paneling, nice carpets, very nice hard working staff. Most rooms have two entrances, one interior and one exterior. Close to the beach. Decent, if unimaginative breakfast. Our only complaint was the tile work in the bath/shower needs repair.

The hotel was on the beach. You can walk to the water from the back of the hotel. The room was small but adequate. You can't beat the location to the Wright Memorial or Jockey's Ridge State Park.

I arrived in the evening, my room was ready. I got checked immediately, our room was clean and comfortable. Living area w/mini kitchen and sleeping area was a good size. Breakfast area was kept stocked and clean and the coffee was good and hot. Best of all the hotel is located directly on the beach, great for a morning walk with your coffee to start your day.

My stay was wonderful. The location and hotel room were great. My reason for not giving excellent for everything is because the breakfast is awful, very disappointing as it is not healthy. The packaged muffins and pastries are loaded with sugars, there is no bread or bagels. Others shared in the breakfast room their disappointment about the breakfast. The coffee could be improved as well. Most travelers look forward to great coffee and breakfast they can enjoy especially when it's continental. We expect something better like toast, bagels, and non packed sugared foods. The staff were all very nice and friendly. I like the cleanliness of the room.

We have stayed in the Wright Days Inn several times and enjoyed it. The breakfast was always exceptional. This time the breakfast was seriously lacking. Instead of a hot breakfast bar, everything had to be microwaved.

After failing numerous times with the online check-in, I drove to the hotel hoping for an early check in. The staff was very accomodating. I was able to check in early and start my mini vacation. The room was comfortable, but outdated. No usb charging ports in the room, but front desk was able to help me out with a charger. Breakfast the following morning was a big disappointment. No eggs or waffle maker, just premade biscuits with sausage and gravy.

Realizing that it's still offseason, I was still disappointed in this stay. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. The breakfast was frozen breakfast sandwiches that were supposed to be refrigerated. Did not nuke well. No eggs, grits, biscuits. Just cereal and refrierated items. Room was clean, but floor was gritty with sand. In room microwave sounded like a helicopter taking off. Bed was made once in 3 days, but coffee and shampoo were never replaced. I expected more from past experience in this hotel.

We have been to OBX several times and this is probably one of our favorite properties. It was clean, convenient and had several amenities. We booked the suite so we had two outside doors, one to the outside/beach walkway and one inside to the front desk/breakfast. We loved this option so we could get to breakfast and back in to change and head out to the beach. The pool was clean and huge. The complimentary breakfast was your typical basic breakfast (scrambled eggs, french toast, sausage, biscuits, cereal, bagels, pastries and juices). The walk to the beach was a little uphill but wasn't terrible. We loved being able to park right outside of our door. It was convenient when it was raining and when we were loading and unloading. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We definitely recommend this property and would stay again.

Wonderful hotel it has a lodge feeling with wood plank floors and wood trim/ beams in lobby and a wood burning fireplace with cozy leather furniture. Offer delicious coffee hot choc and cider with cookies every evening. Staff excellent. Rooms excellent very clean. Fantastic breakfast & views of beach and dunes.

The staff we interacted with was great, and the breakfast was adequate (we appreciated the kitchen had a high rating from the NC Dept of Health), but, other than the AC and shower working, the room we stayed in was really pretty bad. VERY small/cramped, NO hooks to hang towels and bathing suits from, and we had to rearrange items (including moving some to the floor) to make room for our things. There was also only a portion of walkway/boardwalk that didn't go completely to the beach and the trashcans outside the motel were overflowing well into the morning. Out of 5 stars, this hotel gets a 2.

Our room was small but perfect. We were out most of the time but crashed when we got back . Only suggestion would be to ditch small containers of soap ect , too wasteful and not great for the environment. Wall units are the best , plus you save money without waste
