I wish we could add photos. This hotel was gross! The front desk said we could get a refund through Hotels.com and then Hotels.com said the hotel said no. Elevator was out of service, outlet in the bathroom looked like it had been on fire, rust in the shower. Go to the the hotel next door. Our friends stayed there and it was 100x better for same price.

If I could no star I would! There is no elevator, they say it’s broken and waiting on repair, that’s not true! It never works. The room was dirty! There were pills on the floor, the chair had skid marks on it, the bed was like sleeping on a board of old piling cloth that was not white but gray. The door knob was broken. I was put on the 3rd floor after asking for a different room was told that’s all they had! BS, I heard the ocean drive noise all night. The hotel controls the air, so needless to say the 3rd floor was like a hot box! Couldn’t wait to get out. If I was not dealing w/ a broken foot, I wouldn’t have stayed. There was no where to go at 5pm so I had no choice! Horrible room, horrible staff, horrible stay!

When we came we didn’t enjoy the fact that the elevator was out of service for 3 out of the 5 days we went, and yes they reimbursed some of our money but it was such an inconvenience because we were staying on the 3rd floor. The bathroom shower didn’t have a full door so we were a bit confused.. also they didn’t have a microwave, or anywhere in the hotel to get water. Lastly when we stayed and asked for more towels they made it seem like they couldn’t give us more and there was barely anyone ever at the front desk to even ask. Besides that, our time in Miami was awesome and the surrounding area was great the beach was right across the street and they had awesome food options down the strip.

The first night we had no hot water. When we went back the second weekend, it was ice cold in the room. They did give us extra blankets. But the elevator wasn’t working either time. It is in a convenient spot for nightlife.

Valet wouldn't take cards and upped the price $20 after the hotel already told us what the cost was. He wouldn't take the car unless I gave him the money. So we had no choice. Walls are thin and you'll hear every word from your neighbors. Shower didn't work, so had to bend over in the tub to wash our hair. The hotel is, pretty though and a great location.

So I would try to give 3 stars but unless you just want amazing beach access…everything else is not so great. First I was unaware of a $200 refundable deposit. Not a deal breaker by any means but would be nice to know upfront. There’s no WiFi, you cannot control the AC to your room and the rooms are just very basic. Staff to us was friendly. However, I would not recommend any Valet services because it’s all third party.

Ok for one night stay. Very old and outdated. Bathrooms very small and missing most of the door to the shower. (Not sure if that was supposed to be on purpose). Beds very very firm. Loud. Could hear people from three rooms over (if you know what I mean) and every conversation and foot steps from the hallway. Door had old school locks and didn’t seem very strong. Great location and if you just needed a place to sleep worth the price. Parking another issue all together. We left early morning and the number for the valet no one answered or any answering service. Had to wait forever until someone from the hotel was able to help us.

Air conditioner is central. You do not have control over the thermostat. And there is no coffee pot in your room or downstairs. We had to walk almost a mile to the Starbucks because there was not even any cafés open until 7 AM. Just make sure you know that before you stay because we did not.

I should have read the reviews before booking. The entire property is dingy and gross. Extremely dirty, dark, smelly, and loud. Stains on all sheets and towels, roach droppings in room, dead roach in hallway, paint peeling everywhere, old tattered furniture, bed and pillows are rock hard, you can hear word for word conversations through the windows and the walls. The walls and ceiling creaked with every door slam and heavy foot. Elevators haven't worked for months. So we carried three kids, 4 bags, and two strollers up the stairs every time we had to go somewhere. Every inch of the couch is stained. Front desk is extremely unhelpful (didn't have extra sheets for the couch or towels when we requested so my husband went searching for housekeeping). Front desk was certainly uninterested when I initially arrived for check in. Thought I was getting a deal for $180. Never again would I stay here. Felt like a druggy motel.

We stayed 4 nights the trash was never picked up and not once did housekeeping came to clean the room. The sink was backed up and I requested several of times for housekeeping. The cleanliness is terrible.

Close by the water and restaurants, which was nice….but the beds were uncomfortable and there was a “community toilet plunger” in a bag in the hallway for people to use if the toilet got plugged- super gross. There was hair in the shower when we arrived. Staff was not very friendly either.

I like the building old and original.the stafff was horrible. They didn't clean our room and the sheets have blood and hair and when we ask for clean and change the sheets they didn't. So my husband's back to the lobby at 6pm to ask again and they said that dont have any staff to do it. So they give the sheets and we changed ourselves

Nice hotel, right by the beach. Front desk staff was very nice. Its cold in the building but you can get a very nice warm blanket at the front desk. Enjoyed my stay in a comfortable room!

The location was awesome being at the beach and where all the action was and art deco style building. It's best to not be near the elevator as its super noisy as it's old style Otis steel clunks open and closed super loud. Offering bottles of water would be nice. There was a fridge and everything worked, but old style and old windows looked original. Good view of the Ocean though from the front on 3rd floor.

Hotel was prime location for the beach, food and entertainment. Only downside was the noise from the street at night. Sounded like people were in the room having conversations. Paper thin walls and windows, so not much sleep. Would stay again other than the noise. Just bring some earplugs

As i did stand at the front dest i got greeted with : WHAT? not hi or how can i help you? No smile just a cold stare. The shower doesn't work . I did rated 3 stars because the hotel spot is great and mainly because the restaurant staff were friendly and welcoming and actually on the smiling team . I will never stay there but i would visit the restaurant again.

Very bad hotel, not clean, old rooms. Staff is very rude, all of them! Rooms are freezing and there’s no way to control the temperature. Elevator was not working, Valet parking was not always valet as the employees were not always there. Only good thing about it is the location. Other than that, will never go back.

I should have read the reviews before booking. The entire property is dingy and gross. Extremely dirty, dark, smelly, and loud. Stains on all sheets and towels, roach droppings in room, dead roach in hallway, paint peeling everywhere, old tattered furniture, bed and pillows are rock hard, you can hear word for word conversations through the windows and the walls. The walls and ceiling creaked with every door slam and heavy foot. Elevators haven't worked for months. So we carried three kids, 4 bags, and two strollers up the stairs every time we had to go somewhere. Every inch of the couch is stained. Front desk is extremely unhelpful (didn't have extra sheets for the couch or towels when we requested so my husband went searching for housekeeping). Front desk was certainly uninterested when I initially arrived for check in. Thought I was getting a deal for $180. Never again would I stay here. Felt like a druggy motel.

This place is a trap! They charged me an extra $514 upon check in and the photos on hotels.com and the hotel website are not what this place looks like. Maybe 50 years ago this place was nice, but not now. Lobby is run down and there is nowhere to sit out front. The rooms were nice inside, but most furniture seemed broken. One of the showers in the two rooms i had was broken, and the toilet was broken in the other room. There was one resceptionist that is particularly... unique... she was probably the most rude hotel person I met in years! Last, though they charged me for parking (another $100) it took them an hour to get my car when I was checking out... and the valet service wouldnt accept my calls. All the receptionist would say was, "Thats your problem. Its [the valet] is a seperate company." On one good note, the hotel was in a nice location. Id NEVER stay their again, though. Oh! And know that every bar and restaurant adds 20% service fee.

We stayed in this hotel last month and it was pretty good. The location is faultless, amazing, and the location for price point is amazing! The room was pretty nice, we had some issues with the air con being so cold and unable to adjust it which was frustrating but we were moved. What stood out to me is that I got some bag news when I was away that my sister had passed away and I had been crying. The blonde haired lady on reception asked if I was ok and she was so kind and so sweet to me, hugged me and was genuinely so caring and I honestly am so grateful. Her kindness was overwhelming. Thank you to this lady.

Love the location, and the people were really nice and went out of their way to accommodate any of our needs. Absolutely our new favorite at South Beach. Keep in mind this is a historic hotel nearly 100 years old, so don't expect "modern". But it is very well kept, attractive, and has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. And yes, the elevator works.

Staff had no idea about anything they charged one card for all 5 rooms even though reservation was made in each persons name. Aaked for manager there was none rooms were freezing wirh no controls to fix it. I emailed about early xheck in they said yes for 50.00 but then said ni when we got there. We were a group of 12 off a cruise with lots if luggage so we lost many hours of our last day

Nice hotel, right by the beach. Front desk staff was very nice. Its cold in the building but you can get a very nice warm blanket at the front desk. Enjoyed my stay in a comfortable room!

It’s a no frills hotel. She’s old but has character. Needs some updating. Maybe new paint on the walls and some wall decorations. Would be nice if there was as a deal they could make with a local restaurant to offer breakfast or have coffee, bagels and donuts in the morning. Staff was really friendly. Overall I would stay there again. There’s a nice paved bike/walking trail across the street. Hotel is above a bar/restaurant. There are a lot of bars on that street but there is also a heavy police presence. Music didn’t bother us but just be aware there is loud music.

The outside patio is not usable for guests staying at the hotel at night. Other businesses in the area use it for concessions and rent the space so you have to go somewhere else and find a place to sit. Very inconvenient and the vendors that rent the space are rude.

Parking is a paid for valet service - unsure if this is owned by the hotel as the staff didn’t make it clear? We weren’t given important information regarding the shower operation - complicated and not intuitive to use, resulting in having to go down to reception late at night after 24 hours travelling. Sink is cracked. Hotel has a noisy bar underneath and no sound proofing. Great location but this doesn’t make up for the poor facilities.

The elevator was out and was told “your kind of room” isn’t available on the first floor even though the hotel was not sold out. It was very cold in the room. We weren’t offered the option to upgrade our room and when we checked in the first thing out of the person at the lobby’s mouth was “yes”, not cam I help you.

Air conditioner is central. You do not have control over the thermostat. And there is no coffee pot in your room or downstairs. We had to walk almost a mile to the Starbucks because there was not even any cafés open until 7 AM. Just make sure you know that before you stay because we did not.

I really loved the spaciousness of the room and the location of the hotel. Problems with too much air conditioning were resolved after 48 hours (I opened the window, maintenance redirected the air!) as there is no control by room - it is central air. Service at the cafe was always excellent and the check in was great - we were also given two very warm blankets to help with the cold. There was no concierge service for activities and we were on our own for that. The room was very quiet in general and the hotel had a certain charm that grew on me! I would definitely stay there again and I really appreciated the extra security for new years eve!

The place is very old from the furniture in the lobby to the room itself. Nothing has been remodeled. The elevator has been down for 2 years we had to carry our luggage upstairs. I will say that it was clean but smelled of mold. The furniture in the rooms and lobby are old, the lobby gives hunted house spider webs on lamps it gives creepy. If you looking for a cheap stay this is it, very motel 6.

I would give the hotel a 2/10. I’m really never picky but the only thing good about this hotel is the location which was great. Other than that, we had to take cold showers due to hot water not working properly. Toilet had stopped up and reported it to the front desk and was told there was no handyman on duty and directed us to walk to the end of the hall where there were plungers to plunge our own toilet. Could not control our own thermostat and froze during the night. We could have asked for blankets definitely but not being able to control temp was ridiculous especially after coming back from the beach.
