Holiday Inn Express Layton - I-15 by IHG

This location was convenient and good enough for what I needed, which was simply a place to sleep. Breakfast was mediocre (kinda bland, ran out of food/seating, but multiple food type options). Staff was friendly. Pool was closed. Stairs were closed for renovation (fire safety issue??) and elevator was rickety and had a waiting time (no stairs, one elevator for whole hotel). Ice machines broken. AC/heater was difficult to use/did not keep set temp. Hallway spelt like urine and chemicals. Had bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash which was nice. Overall fine experience but nothing to rave about.

We always enjoy Holiday Inn Express. This time the pool was closed, ice maker was broken on our floor and construction cones all around the parking lot. Will stay again. We were just a little disappointed this time.

Staff was very nice! Rooms are nice and clean. Lots of towels! Comfortable beds and a variety of pillows on each bed. Breakfast was only ok. But a good selection. The pool area is cool, and the pool is not warm, but you get used to it and it is ok. We still swam 2 times. The hot tub definately needs some love, the walls of it are peeling chunks off, and the temp is not super hot. But still, we enjoyed our time there. Would stay again. The price was great

I was upset that the pool was closed, I would not have booked this place because they were doing construction on their pool and front lobby. their elevator would get stuck, their toilet paper holder was barely hanging on the wall. just felt cheap. At night around 9pm all the construction people were in our hallway laughing and drinking and were being way too loud when we had young kids to put to bed. very frustrated.

Shower ran out of hot water. Elevator does not work very well. Milk at breakfast was spoiled. Beds were comfortable.

It has been refreshed and every person working there was kind courteous and helpful. The hot tub and pool not so clean but I don't think it was the staffs control but the guests who made them a place I didn't want venture. Pool was cloudyv and hot tub water needed to be cleaned

We booked well in advance and only found out at check-in that the elevator was out of service. Despite this, the front desk assigned us a room on the 4th floor. My 70-year-old mother was expected to carry her luggage upstairs – unacceptable. Only after insisting did we get a room on the 2nd floor. The hotel is clearly in need of renovation. Paint is worn, fixtures outdated – and it's the first hotel we've ever seen with EXIT signs installed at floor level. While this may be intended for visibility in case of smoke during a fire, it's also a clear indicator of how the building is aging. Pros: Clean, quiet room. Cons: Poor communication, lack of empathy, and an overall feeling that guests with special needs are not considered.

Check in was easy, even tho we were a bit early. The desk clerk very pleasant and we were quickly in our room. The room was large, the bed comfy, and spotlessly clean. I appreciated the built in nightlight in the bathroom.

Bathroom was dirty, other peoples hair in the tub and on walls, did not shower as it was dirty but rest of room was ok. The facility itself was not worth the money as it is in need of updating. Was disappointed in spending that much money for it.

Clean. The late night receptionists were friendly and welcoming. The ladies that prepared the breakfast and clean up afterwards were wonderful - all hard working and friendly. The receptionists in the morning, as we checked out and handed in the keys, were not as friendly... But we enjoyed our stay; room was quiet, very clean, very comfy beds, good breakfast, hot and cold items. YUM! We'd definitely stay again at this Holiday Inn Express in Layton, UT

The hotel is a little beat up. The rooms were clean but the lobby, halls and elevator were dirty. The beds were definitely getting older, saying on the ends. No freeway noise, but there were people running in the halls a lot.

Carpet was nasty, a/c was filthy and noisy, bathroom fan was filthy. Light fixtures were broken, electrical plugs were broken and/or very loose.

The pool area felt not very cleanly and the water was gross looking, then the bathtub in our room looked liked it hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time and definitely not well since the people before us had used it, after our swim we used the shower head in the tub to rinse the kids off and the tub drained extremely slow so they had to stand in their nasty pool water while it drained getting rinsed off.

Staff was ok, slightly unprofessional with the swearing and personal story swapping during check in. Room had serious cleanliness issues, splatters of something in the bathroom, night stand also. Hair everywhere.

The elevator did not work but thankfully we were on the first floor. Our room assigned was near one of the highly traveled exit and stairs area causing much noise late into the night and again early in the morning. Our quality of sleep was very limited from people talking etc. and allowing doors to slam. Not a good stay.

Definitely needs updating. We had to change rooms because of the smell in the 1st room they gave us. Smelled like cat urine.

The AC did not work. We were super hot the entire weekend even thought it’s not even summer yet. The TV and thermostat in the first room we got did not work at all. I ignored it at first thinking it would be fine even though the room as extremely hot. But after I took a shower, I saw that the water was not draining in the shower. The front desk attendant was very helpful and was able to move us to another room. The TV did work in this room and thermostat did work as well, however the temperature in the room did not go below 78 degrees. The room was extremely hot. Shower was fine. Overall, the comfortability was not good because of the room temperature. It was fine because we were gone most of the day but definitely not comfortable to sleep in. I’m usually cold but I was very hot the entire trip.

I usually pick Holiday Inn express over other options. They are generally clean and comfortable. This room felt cramped, our door didn’t shut tight so light came through at night, the ice machine wasn’t somewhere out of the way, it was right outside our door. There was something sticky on the floor, and to top it off, the air didn’t work causing the room to get quite stuffy. Luckily the window opened a little but it was freezing the kids out so we had to shut it. Not my best night to say the least.

This hotel has been refurbished in the past year and honestly appears to be and has been rated highly on several travel sites. However, our experience was not good. First and foremost if you get room 408 request a different room or at least don’t sleep on the bed closest to the window. It's crap. It's like 2 inches in size compared to the other pillow top. Second.... Bring your own pillows as these are like inflatables with holes in them as they deflate to nothing when you lay on them. Literally flatter than a pancake and pretty much like laying on a sheet of newspaper. My husband and I had the worst night of sleep while our daughter slept like a princess. Our mattress also felt like the springs were warn out as every time my husband moved it made noise and I felt every move he made. Worst night I've experienced in a looooong time. When we arrived the room was as cold as a deep freezer. We left for dinner, came back and room seemed to have warmed up. That night we woke up sweating and the thermostat said it was at 67 but was not working and definitely not as cool as 67. Try 75ish?! I also woke up to what sounded like a distant alarm to realizing that it was the refrigerator motor. That was annoying every time it cycled. The bathroom was very tiny. We booked a hotel with a pool/spa but there were so many kids/teen in there that we couldn’t enjoy these amenities. Breakfast was meh. The price is affordable but I wouldn’t book this place again.

The rooms met our standards. The staff that worked there were great but we did wait at least 15 minutes before anyone showed up at the front desk to check in. When they did they were very friendly and helpful.

The front desk staff was super accommodating. They even made sure my daughter and her family were in the room next to us. So appreciated.

Very pleasant quick check in and out. Staff was very helpful.

We enjoyed being able to walk to our restaurant for dinner and having several options to pick from. Also appreciated that the toiletries in the shower were not individual miniature bottles (that end up in a landfill). Ideally located to go visit Antelope Island Park.

Close to a lot of shopping. Centrally located in Layton

Easy access to freeways, clean quiet room, comfortable bed. The mini frig freezer actually kept our ice blocks frozen. Nice, clean pool atea. Good breakfast options.

So this is a great location for walking to dining establishments and the movie theater .it's also located in the heart of them as well

Under revocation, lobby was closed, had to use a side door entrance, bagged breakfast was give because there was no breakfast area due to Reno. Elevator was creepy. Room was fine once you got there.

A notice that the lobby was non existent due to remodeling would have been appreciated. No breakfast available. Just coffee on a cart in a small, dirty hallway. The room was updated and nice.

Worst stay at a hotel I've had in awhile. None of the amenities were available. No pool. No breakfast. Rooms are old and dirty. Had to change rooms cause the pull out bed was filthy with chips in it and yellow stains all over in the first one. Stay anywhere else.
