We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is undergoing some updates/remodeling. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The elevators were not working properly so it took a while to get up to the 8th floor. I loved the pool and the hot tub! Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was difficult when coming back late at night, not enough spots to park.

Relatively good value overall, but some areas seem rundown, although they were going through some renovations during my stay. The restaurant/bar area is pleasant. The gym has dumbbells and a decent 36# kettlebell. So, sufficient and better than just a treadmill and an elliptical. Bathroom walls have visible patches, quick fixes, a piece of the toilet tank had broken during my stay, which I promptly removed to avoid the constant water running. In reality, there is no measurable impact to my stay from this minor situation, but it is indicative of the failure to maintain and inspect on a more regular basis. Would I stay here again? Maybe? I haven't tried other hotels in the area, and perhaps I will next time I visit Sioux Falls. Only after comparing would I be able to assess whether this is a better option than others.

The room was just ok. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom was so so. The shower knob was hard to handle and loose and the drain was broken. I was very disappointed in the cold hot tub because I always look forward to it when I stay. I was in room 308 and could hear the ice machine very clearly.

The inside of the property was clean, however the outside looked old, outdated, and uninviting. The beds were hard and pillows were super flat and provided no support. When we turned on our AC it actually made the room very humid to the point where everything felt wet. I asked if the hotel had a dehumidifier we could use and they did not nor did they offer to take a look at it or help in any way.

I reserved a suite for wedding guests to relax and visit following the ceremony. There was clearly a dead rodent smell in the room. We couldn’t stay in the room with the smell. I was offered another room of less value to sleep in but not offered any further compensation and the staff seemed less than sympathetic. The thing is - I get it! Things like this happen by how many times did cleaning staff maintenance this room and ignore the growing smell!!!! Very disappointed that I paid extra on a room I couldn’t use.

On the plus side: centrally located. And the maids were nice about giving us coffee pod refills. On the down side, there were $15/day amenity charges tacked onto the bill in addition to what we paid Expedia. The hotel is dirty and shabby. Our bathroom sink drain was partly clogged from the first moment of using it. There was visible dirt in the room and in the elevators. The ice machine on our floor didn’t work for our entire stay. The coffee machine in our room worked poorly — and required written instructions taped to the front to operate. The WiFi was spotty. At check out,I told the desk that the ice machine didn’t work and that the sink was plugged and they didn’t seem to care — nor did they offer a partial or complete refund of the amenity fee. I have stayed at worse hotels — but not for the price of Holiday Inn. I would never stay here again.

Our overall stay was good. Unfortunately, while I was trying to figure out why the remote wasn't working with the television, I found fecal matter on/ inside the remote. Maintenance staff were quick to replace with a working, clean remote however, the fact that fecal matter was present was still rather appalling.

This hotel was a beautiful IHG property in the heart of downtown within walking distance of Sioux Falls and the sculpture walk. Their breakfast buffet was more like a fine dining buffet than the typical tasteless hotel fare. But the highlight is the Sunday brunch. Burnt pork belly bites with Asian bbq sauce was out of this world. I would come for the food alone. The beds were super comfortable and there were two different comfort levels of pillows ensuring a great nights sleep. We really enjoyed our stay.

The check-in process wasn’t so good. Our room wasn’t ready until after 4pm. Caused some inconvenience for me. The hotel itself is kind of awesome. It’s an old hotel. Clean, updated. It was negative temps outside and our room never got above 65 degrees no matter how high I set the room temp. Was grateful for an extra comforter.

This was my third time staying at the Holiday Inn downtown. However, this was the first time I felt unwelcome by the front desk staff. The hostess was not clear on the extra charges. I reserved 2 rooms under my name, and she had it all mixed up. When checking out, the guy seemed annoyed. Probably won't stay here again.

Everything was great about our stay. Check in was great, the front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was very clean, and we had a great view. The air conditioner was on when we got there so we didn't walk into a hot and steamy room (it was very hot and humid that day). Housekeeping was very friendly. Saw several staff in the hallways and they all smiled and greeted us and were very friendly. Housekeeping supervisor even checked in with us to be sure we had everything we needed. We discussed we should spend the little extra money and stay here every time we come to Sioux Falls (several times a year). But then...we went to check out. Front desk staff (a gentleman) was standing there by himself. We saw the bowl labeled room keys. I asked if we drop our keys there. The gentleman replied (I'm not kidding) "yep". That was it. Nothing else. Not "thanks for staying with us. Was your stay OK? Have a nice day". Just "yep". That complete disinterest and lack of care and common courtesy left us with a very negative feeling about the hotel and our stay. It was enough of a rude brush off that we may not stay here again.

We enjoyed the stay at this hotel but were billed incorrectly when they had an issue at the bar and their system wasn’t working. We were charged $85 for two drinks. I contacted the property three times and left messages with out a return call.

Stop over on our way to Custer SD. Room was noisy at night heard all the traffic. Went to the bar for a few cocktails and were swarmed by fruit flys. Breakfast was very good, omelet was made to perfection.

This hotel was a beautiful IHG property in the heart of downtown within walking distance of Sioux Falls and the sculpture walk. Their breakfast buffet was more like a fine dining buffet than the typical tasteless hotel fare. But the highlight is the Sunday brunch. Burnt pork belly bites with Asian bbq sauce was out of this world. I would come for the food alone. The beds were super comfortable and there were two different comfort levels of pillows ensuring a great nights sleep. We really enjoyed our stay.

Drunk, more wasted, people everywhere. Huddled smokers by the front door. Not just once, but every time we entered/left. Food was expensive yet soggy flatbread sandwiches. Would have enjoyed McDonald’s more. The pool and area was so small that it was overflowing with drunks that wander over from the bar. Would not take family there again.

Pool was a bit chilly but hot tube was amazing. Breakfast was delicious, they had a breakfast buffet plus menu options. Hotel was nearly decorated. Friendly staff.

I actually love this hotel and stay here almost every time I am in Sioux Falls. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet my usual experience. There were only 2 issues but they were both quite disappointing. When we arrived, there was a stain on the couch, which wouldn't be a big deal, but my fiancé touched it and it was still wet with something. We were leaving quickly so we only had time to throw a towel over it. Second, while in the shower I discovered that there was no body wash. Unfortunately, I was already in the shower and had no time to wait for someone to bring some up. Both of these issues were simple inconveniences and our stay was otherwise good. However, they didn't meet the expectations I've come to have for this usually great hotel.
