Easy walk to Dreamland — a must visit — the beach and Malibu Pier. Great restaurant options. Sorta hidden, rustic upper patio great for viewing the ocean early morning wildlife and the sunset. Porpoise pods and diving pelicans!

Check in was easy at this little hotel built into a hill. Our room was near PCH so it was quite noisy all night, which explains the earplugs left in our room. The decor was cozy and the room was comfortable.

Its was real easy to check in. Brian was awesome and helpful. Loved the view from the balcony the shower was awesome and also the little hill patio in the back that was superb. I would stay here again.

The noise level was so bad they provided ear plugs in the room. There is no public beach access. This is not a walking area. The room was clean. Bed only ok.

Staff is friendly, after checking in we went straight to our room and settled in, lied on the bed to relax for a little bit after a long drive, suddenly my wife yelled and saw a big spider crawling on her head it was on the pillow! Not a good first impression of the cleanliness of the property, the road noise is a major turn off, really hard to sleep at night even if they’re providing ear plugs for the guests to wear…

Our room smelled like Ben Gay. When we complained we were told that the cleaning staff had left for the day. When I asked for fresh sheets in hopes that it would help with the smell I was told that the cleaning staff had left for the day and could only be offered fresh pillow cases. The room was very dark with insufficient lighting. The bed was atrociously uncomfortable. You would think that with all of the Ben Gay in the room I wouldn’t have woken up with a stiff back. Nevertheless I did. I get it- location, location, location. I was there for a wedding. Next time I’ll commute to the event. Never again!

Hotel staff were very friendly, the room was very clean, and incredibly loud. It’s an old building, which meant you could hear the guests above you (rudely at 1am…) added to the street noise (which was unbelievable even with earphones) and the AC which wasn’t efficient, it made sleeping next to impossible. Great location, but won’t be coming back.

The room and property was just not very clean, and the management was not around. I never saw anyone at the front desk. I was simply advised that my room was open and the key was inside when I arrived.

The rooms are very basic but clean. However my sink was clogged and took forever to drain dirty water. Prices for any hotel room are exorbitant in Malibu so this one was overpriced as well

Stayed here for my surfing trip to Surfrider Beach, about a 20 minute walk but much more affordable than the closer options. A comfortable place to stay with helpful staff. Would stay here again and recommend.

As a single traveler, this place felt unsafe. I was given a room on the ground level. Even after addressing the fact that my room smelled and the AC was not working properly, I was given an option of moving over to the next room (which was also ground level). The hotel was completely empty, and yet they cannot upgrade my room for any reason.

Noisy and no administrative help. The office staff comes in when they essentially need or want to. I had to wait the entire morning to pay them before I could enjoy my day. Sign on the office door posted a time staff would arrive and it was off by several hours. When calling the number they responded they could only text. Highway close is very noisy even with the hotel provided earplugs. Nice enough place but shady business practices and definitely not the place to stay to sleep.

Great little hotel for a weekend getaway. Located across the street from the beach. Very close to all the popular dining restaurants. As warned it is on PCH so you will hear the cars driving by. But that goes for any hotel on PCH. Would recommend for a little getaway.

The M is a true beach motel. It is on the inland side of Pacific Coast Hwy - with a number of restaurants within walking distance about a mile each way). The bathroom was clean and the room was comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay here because the location was great. There is a cute new organic grocery next door, you can take a walk to the beach and end up at the lagoon or Cross Creek. The air conditioning did not work well, so it was very hot. When we checked in, I would have loved to be told the check out time and wifi. I figured those would be in the room, but they were not.
