Shoreline Hotel

The room was a bit dated and shabby. Not as nice as the images. However, the hotel is well situated, right on the beach-front. The night before we were due to leave, we had booked for dinner for the family at 6pm. When we arrived for dinner, we were informed the kitchen was closed because the hotel’s gas supply was cut. Nobody had made any effort to inform us in advance of us arriving for dinner. We have two young children who were hungry. We tried to find somewhere local to eat, but couldn’t find anywhere to go appropriate for young children. We finally went to a local supermarket and bought food to eat in our room. The following morning the gas supply had still not been fixed and there was no hot water to allow us to shower before our journey home. There was no attempt by the hotel to assist with alternative eating arrangements or to apologise for the situation. It was a disappointing end to a lovely holiday in Ireland.

Lovely small hotel on the beach. Staff is very helpful and nice. Restaurant is very good. Room looks newly refurbed and bathroom has had a complete makeover. Very clean and comfortable. Room is small. Parking is free. Views are beautiful. 15 mins from DUB airport.

This was a perfect place for our last night in Ireland. Beers by the ocean on the patio and dinner in the dining room. Our room was seaside and we were able to hear the waves as we drifted off to sleep. Very peaceful!

This hotel is in a lovely locations right on the beach. It has ample parking which was free as a resident. The lobby and bar/restaurant area are renovated and nicely kept. The staff were friendly and helpful (particularly the bar and waiting staff - an asset to the hotel for sure). We had a ground floor room which opened onto the patio which overlooks the sea. Unfortunately the room definitely needs an upgrade and renovation. The doors open with physical keys rather than a key card and the door seems to wobble in the frame. All of the electrics in the room seem a little strange: socket over the desk hanging off the wall, sockets either side of the bed are not working sockets and are blocked, old key card slot in the room to activate power loose on the wall, a cable that was perhaps for a landline phone just cut off at the socket. There was a stain on the carpet and walls. The bathroom has a shower over a bath and there is water damage on the covering bath panel. While the bathroom is a decent size the layout is tight: very narrow bath so hitting elbows off walls while showering, toilet so close to the wall was hitting elbow off the toilet roll holder. A renovation of the room and bathroom would make this a really nice little hotel in a lovely location with great staff. I would stay here again but would prefer to see the rooms renovated (perhaps other rooms are but this one was not).

The food is fantastic! Only one bad thing they don’t have a/c in the rooms it says it does but that’s not true! But over definitely worth the stay just don’t go in the hotter weather!

Staff was great - accommodating and friendly. We appreciated the easy parking and loved our beach view room and nearby walking paths. Perfect spot for our last night in Ireland and quick trip to the airport.

Good value, service in the restaurant a bit slow- perhaps understaffed? Rooms are clean, some with pleasing sea views, and the walls, though not soundproof, are not as thin as some of this type and age. No hot water in the shower at 8am suggests that the HWS needs an upgrade! But as I said, all in all good value.

Teppich war dreckig, mülleimer nicht ausgeleert, Toilette hatte Kot Reste / offenbar nicht gereinigt.. ansonsten Personal freundlich und Serviceorientiert.

Room had garbage left on floor and bathroom need updating. Mold area are corner of tub. Floor tiles by elevator was missing creating trip hazard. Very quiet at night and peaceful sleeping. Breakfast service was excellent and included.

Beautiful setting. Sheets were stained but good quality. They probably don’t use bleach. Carpet is very stained. Nice pillows. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Renovated bathroom. Very nice.

Upon arrival, it was obvious that only a skeleton staff were available. Hotel room was dirty, urine in the toilet, badly stained carpet. It was dreadful

Despite booking a sea-view room, the dirty windows meant there was barely any view at all. Only one pillow per person was provided, with no extras available. In the morning, cleaning bags were left outside every room, which made the corridors feel messy and cheap. Overall, the rooms are not great and the hotel does not feel well cared for.

We paid for a superior sea view room! Three lights in the bedroom didn't work. Bathroom fan didn't work. We found pubic hairs and head hair in shower. No toilet roll holder in bathroom. Mug was chipped beside coffee machine. Room was very small and needed updating badly. Windows were very dirty and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months which spoiled the beautiful view. This should be a 2 star hotel...

Stunning beach view from my room which was very comfortable and clean. The food offer was very good but the poor staff were run off their feet and it did take a while to get your order taken. Beautiful location. The hotel is a little tired and could do with some tlc and not all communal areas were clean e.g. back stairs.

I would have liked the room to be a bit better kept. There was still trash on the floor and the bathrooms were not well kept.

Mold in bathroom, not clean, staff weren't good, but restaurant food was great.

The people were great but my room was incredibly small. Would not go back.

Had stayed here the previous night and the room (116) was a comfortable room. Decided to stay an extra night (the weather forecast was good so another day on the beach appealed) but the room we were given (119) was nowhere up to the same standard. The room was smaller with the bed against the wall, which made it awkward for the person on the inside to get in an out during the night (We're both Seniors). There wasnt a bedside locker and the bedside sockets /light did not work. The room is more suitable for a single. We expressed our concerns to the receptionist who said she'd get the manager to contact us as he wasn't available. As of now, nearly 3 days later I have not received any contact. Otherwise everything was as expected.

A beautiful view, but only one of our rooms had that. The other 3 rooms were on opposite side and with a not so great view.

no staff after 10pm. old , out dated rooms. tv but no channels. felt like i was in a horror movie waiting for someone to beeak down my door. beutiful view - ocean view

Staff were fantastic, especially in restaurant! Room just a quick check of sockets would be good, not all useable at bedside but only minor issue.

Amazing stay! The Shoreline staff went above and beyond and were just wonderful in accommodating our stay!

The hotel is beautifully located on a beach and is within 20 minutes of the Dublin Airport. We were there on Mother's Day which happened to also be a beautiful, sunny day and so the hotel was VERY busy. We arrived a bit early and could not check in so walked the beach and enjoyed the day. We were then sent to our room and arrived to the smell of stale cigarette smoke and the previous guests fingernails on the carpet. There was no phone in the room to call down to the desk, so my travelling companion went down to be informed that there were no other rooms and a manager would be up to address our concerns. After a 40 minute wait, I went down and spoke again to the front desk clerk (she was delightful), who went in search of the manager again and informed me that they would be up in a moment. Waited another 20 minutes and went down again. This time I spoke directly to the manager she had spoken to and was informed a manager had just gone up. I returned to the room to find a manager who listened to our concerns and then offered us another room. It was an upgrade and had a view of the ocean, so we took it. In fairness to the staff, they were being run off their legs due to the high volume of people in the dining room and at the special Mother's Day tea, but the cleanliness of the room was of concern. We had dinner there and it was fine. Not a lot of choice, but again that may have been due to the holiday and not their normal fare. The hotel is in need of a refresh.

Room stank of Sewer and drain gasses. When I complained the guy in reception. Shrugged his shoulders and muttered something under his breath.

We really enjoyed our break in the Shoreline Hotel.The staff looked after us exceptionally well.The location was awesome

It was are first time to Ireland. We had the deluxe suite and it was amazing waking up and opening up the curtains and seeing the ocean. Staff was very friendly, quickly helped if you had any issues. I would highly recommend

Absolutely Appalling – Avoid at All Costs I recently stayed at the Shoreline Hotel in Dublin and can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at any hotel. The property is in a disgusting state of disrepair – paint peeling, sticky floors, and bathrooms with brown-stained walls that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The toilets were filthy and clearly not maintained. Even the grounds were strewn with rubbish, giving a first impression that only got worse. The front of house staff were unprofessional and indifferent, bordering on rude. The car park – supposedly offered as part of our stay – was full of rubbish and rusting bikes apparently belonging to staff who are actually living in the guest rooms. That alone is highly inappropriate and unacceptable for paying guests. Despite written confirmation that we could leave our car parked for a few weeks, I received a call a day later to say the car had been clamped, and now they are threatening to remove it entirely. I’ve sent multiple emails and they are now refusing to reply. This is not just bad service – it borders on harassment. As for the food – €110 for a single portion of fish and chips, a plate of vegetables, and two drinks is outrageous, especially when the quality was disgusting Greasy, bland, and clearly reheated – not remotely close to restaurant standard. The overall behaviour and condition of this hotel are disgraceful.

Hôtel à 20 minutes de l'aéroport de Dublin en bord de mer. Notre chambre avait vue mer et c'était magnifique. Intérieur avec beaucoup de charme. Le restaurant est très sympathique avec vue sur la mer. Nous y avons bien mangé. Le dessert était juste délicieux.

Really nice hotel, by the beach, great location and views. Close to Malahide for great food and bars.

The most amazing location by the beach. Lots of great walks... Half hour walk into Donabate for trains into Dublin... Staff are absolutely brilliant in the way they look after you.

Lovely quiet beach to walk along only 50 m from hotel. Easy 15 minute drive to Dublin airport.

the location is in front of the sea. You can appreciate the sound of the sea waves. The problem is that it is not well served by buses to reach it. The breakfast is average. Good value for money.

We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport but far enough away to be enjoyable. We were very pleased with the property. It's right on the beach so a beautiful location. It has plenty of parking and it was easy to drive to. The desk agent was adorable and she was so very helpful. She offered to book a table for us for dinner and she arranged to have some breakfast items available for us since we needed to leave before their breakfast service. Our room was clean and modern and quite spacious. We had one large bed and a twin size bed. The bathroom was very modern and well lit. We enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant and a short walk by the beach. We needed to leave early for our flight but there were several breakfast options available just as the desk agent promised. Our drive to the airport was about 25 minutes. If you are looking for something near the airport but not AT the airport, you might consider this property. We would definitely stay again.

The views from the hotel were amazing. I had the fish and chips for my evening meal it was very good. The staff were friendly.There was no heating in our room when we arrived .We had to turn on the radiator ourselves The room itself was very clean and comfortable. .I was very pleased with the choice on the breakfast menu. There was a shortage of staff serving breakfast which meant my breakfast arrived cold .The girl serving breakfast was very polite and good at her job . She did her best to serve everyone.

Die Burger im Restaurant am Abend waren sehr gut, und auch die warmen Frühstücksgerichte von der Karte haben uns geschmeckt. Leider war das Hotel in Bezug auf Sauberkeit enttäuschend. Die Fensterscheiben waren verschmutzt, auch mit Vogelkot. Brösel auf den Stühlen sowie alte Muscheln unter dem Bett von anderen Gästen machten keinen guten Eindruck. Auch das Badezimmer war nicht besonders sauber. Handtücher hatten Flecken und Löcher und das kaputte Badschloss wurde trotz Meldung an die Rezeption nicht repariert. Im Essensraum war die Bar verstaubt. Der Licht-Shot war beschädigt und der Fernseher funktionierte nicht – er zeigte nur Streifen und gab seltsame, ungesund klingende Geräusche von sich. Das Essen am Buffet wirkte teilweise alt, als ob es schon länger dort gestanden hätte, Leeres wurde nicht wirklich aufgefüllt. Manche Zusätze zu den Cerealien waren während des gesamten Aufenthalts leer. Zudem gab es längere Wartezeiten beim Frühstück, da nur eine Servicekraft im Einsatz war, die sich jedoch sehr bemühte. Die Auswahl am Buffet war insgesamt eher begrenzt. Käse und Wurst standen zur Verfügung, aber Toast gab es nur auf Anfrage oder wenn man ein warmes, deftiges Gericht bestellte. Das Hotel präsentiert sich online als hochwertig, erfüllt jedoch nicht den versprochenen Standard und bleibt insgesamt hinter den Erwartungen.

The food was supposed to be cook on the moment. I ordered a cheese omellet with rashers and spinach but was raw in the inside and burn on the outside. No cheese, no rashers and got chopped tomatoes and rae dpinach instead and tasteless.

Ellie and other staff made the stay exception. Really felt welcomed. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The best I’ve had in Ireland or Scotland. I was initially preparing for not so great food, but the food at this place was beyond great. Plus the service was excellent.

For the price the property was very unimpressive. Small rooms, poor finishes to the recently refurbished rooms, no one on reception, scruffy entrance area and unattractive building. Whilst the restaurant staff were helpful the food was very average. Sea view was good, but that alone wasn’t enough.

This place was totally not what we were expecting. It was right on the beach. Views from the balcony are awesome! The place was easy to find, just off M1 and a pretty straight shot from there. The staff (all we met anyway) were great, very accommodating and gave great service with a genuine smile and happy to help attitude. The food was gorgeous, kudos to the cooks. Portions are big so bring an appetite and the drinks taste lovely. I have recommended this place to anyone who will listen. Will definitely need to get back. It's not far from Dublin and many other places so it is accessible for those who want to go in to Dublin or anywhere else.

This place is literally overlooking the water and you can walk right down on the beach! Amazing full cooked breakfast included! We loved it!!
