The pool & wellness suite was out of action which was very disappointing as it was the sole reason I stayed at Chase rather than central Cheltenham. But the room was clean & comfortable, and breakfast was good

I’m surprised this hotel is called a spa hotel, it’s more of a hotel with overpriced treatments, a tiny pool and hot tub. There was only beds too and with a hotel as large as that 2 is crazy.

This hotel has a lot of facilities and, for a large hotel, is pretty well located. Lots of free parking. As i write this (09/12/24) there is no EV charging but it looks like they are getting ready to install it. Breakfast is great and chilled out The bar can be a bit chaotic but thats down to the conferences held there, not the hotel. The leisure facilities are nice, great for relaxing after a long day! And you can buy swimming shorts there if you need them. The rooms are air conditioned, but the air con can be a little flakey. The only negative thing i have to say about the rooms is the kettles in the rooms dont hold a lot of water, but it is enough to make a cuppa.

Disappointed the leisure facilities were closed and no notification when booking as we paid extra for a hotel in the area for that reason. We stayed here 4 weeks ago and the jacuzzi was broke then so it wasn’t a new issue can someone contact me to discuss please

There was only one negative to the hotel and that is the pool area. Smallest of small steam room/sauna & hot tub. Towels given for the pool area had holes in/ mens toilet out of order/smallest of showers in the changing room. The hotel itself you cant fault and is really decent but when you book a hotel spa and the spa pool area is really poor it effects the over experience. Bar staff really friendly and helpful with local knowledge. 10/10 for them.

Lovely stay. Would definitely go back. Nice room, breakfast was good, and dinner too. My only negative really is that the swimming pool has annoying opening times on the weekend so we couldn't really go. Not sure why they have to shorten the opening times by so much on the weekend.

The primary basis for my stay was the location not being to far to get to work. Positives 1. Close to work. 2. Good breakfast. 3. 24 hour gym. 4. Comfortable bed. Negatives 1. The free weight area has been neglected and is rusted up for nearly every machine. The 40KG weights are dangerous because they are not stuck onto the handle properly which I learnt when trying to bench press them.The temperature in the gym is set far to low to the point it's freezing and there seems to be no option to change as all options are locked on the digit thermostat. 2.The bathroom in my room had long hairs sitting within it, indicating that it hadn't been cleaned. 3. There was a ceiling spot light that was hanging by it's wire outside of its frame. I raised this issue being a potential electrical safety issue and the staff offered me a different room so I couldn't fault them on that. 4. The TV had the option to connect a HDMI cable and chromecast but none of them worked. 5. Whenever a problem was raised with the staff, they would respond by saying that maintenance will look into it, but nothing would ever get resolved.

After staying in the hotel for maybe a month now due to work. It seems like the infrastructure and the understanding of who is in charge of what is a complete mystery. The chrome cast never works, their is 2 WiFi signals that are temperamental and don't have a consistent connection and various speed issues. There needs to be an onsite technical person that can troubleshoot the Chromecast server. The same engineer needs to also do a health check of all the access points to make sure they are operating correctly and set to the correct channels. On my recent stays I have to say that Tom has been amazing with his support and doing the best he can to help. I believe the issues that exist need to be resolved by the person who is in charge I.T for this hotel. The cleanliness is also an issue, I have never been to any room that hasn't got at least a minimum of 5 or 6 black hairs on the bed and the bathroom. I was also surprised to see one of the small hand towels covered in either ketchup or small blood stains. I raised this point before and I will say it again. The cleaners need to be spot checked to make sure corners are not being cut.

The room.wasnt even vaccummed before we checked in . Had food crumps all over . No bed was done during the 3 night stay. Only duvet folded. Bed was so uncomfortable. The air con was so noisy had to turn it off.

Some issues with cleanliness unfortunately. In our room there were two large clumps of blue tack on the wall above the bed where guests had probably put a banner. The mini-fridge had clearly not been cleaned as it housed an opened bottle of wine. At breakfast we had to swap a chair that was covered in food debris and there was a chip on the carpet which was obviously left from a meal consumed the day before. Breakfast itself was not great. The hot food was under such strong heat above, (almost like a grill) it dried out the food on the trays beneath so the fried eggs were like rubber , the mushrooms all dried out at the tops and the bacon rashers were welded together so in trying to pick up one rasher you ended up with about six or seven in one huge piece. Some (not all) of the tomatoes were completely blackened on the top. Having said that I asked for a poached egg and this was cooked to order and was perfect. Our room was adequate and the bathroom was very clean. The pool was good and a decent temperature.. Jacuzzi was lovely but the timer was set to be off for 10-15minutes after a very short spell of it being on. We were told that there was a fault with it and they were waiting for an engineer so this could well be rectified now. Location: was a bit more out of town than we thought but ok with a car. Hotel seemed understaffed, hence the issues we encountered. However all staff were lovely. An OK stay just not quite the Marriott we experience we expected.

Spotlessly clean room with very comfortable firm bed, nice bathroom with plenty of products and decent shower. The only downside with the shower was the lack of pressure but that is very minor nit picking. We ate in the restaurant with friends and all enjoyed a lovely meal. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and plenty of options. All in all it was a fabulous stay at the hotel.

Very disappointed in this hotel, firstly to be charged the added deposit of £100 on arrival that was not stipulated on the booking site, then to be questioned awkwardly as to why I queried it, when I noticed it had be taken out of my account was totally unacceptable. Secondly the state of the spa area was to say the least very disappointing, firstly the jacuzzi only works 7 minutes off then 7 minutes on and this was supposed to be a full seven minutes on, we timed it to be more 4 to 5 minutes. The biggest complaint was the steam room was awful, grubby. ingrained dirt on the seats and smelted awful, both the doors to the steam-room and sauna needed cleaning, this resulted in my partner coming out in a rash that over her body. When I mentioned this to the Spa staff they really did not seem bothered. we booked a two spa break but used the facility once due to this concern. Thirdly the communication on the complaints has not really been dealt with satisfactory and the Spa concerns have been totally not recognized in the email process. I have used the Marriot chain many times before with no issues but this one was a total let down on what looked on paper a lovely hotel and what could be a nice break away, certainly not value for money. The only compliment i can give this place is the staff on duty where very friendly and polite and respectful, its the facility's and after care I would question due to the disappointment

My fiancé and I spent 2 nights at Cheltenham Chase last weekend. Having read a few mixed reviews I was a little hesitant to book but went ahead and prepared for an underwhelming experience. However my fiancé and I were very pleasantly surprised and honestly our experience significantly exceeded our expectations on a number of levels. The room was a good size, king or super king size bed and comfortable mattress. Clean and basically well equipped. A lovely countryside view whee ref. Looking above the car park. We had 2 evening meals and 2 breakfasts. All delicious and hot. The spa area was clean and not crowded at any point. At times a little busier than others but some very quiet periods. Absolutely loved the pool temperature, and use of the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. All great temperatures for me. Shower facilities all good. We paid a very reasonable price, a little reduced via a hotel app. Lots of friendly and helpful staff. The only obvious improvements we would have asked for would have been automatic provision of robes, more information in the room regarding meal options and other info about available services and facilities etc and more info offered at the desk as we arrived. Overall a great stay and I’m hoping to set up a membership to be able to use the spa facilities regularly which I found incredibly relaxing 👍

The room was clean. Plenty of tea and coffee. Staff at check in were friendly. The only issue we had was the TV kept turning itself on and off. If we were staying longer it would have been an issue.

Overall ok: but the room (146) is not what is pictured on the website. It had very tired old earl 2000s furniture which was damaged and very knocked around. Otherwise overall a very nice hotel.

The room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was really clean and a pleasure to use. Holy moly was the bed comfy?! And so big I lost my husband! The only downside I would say was that the water glasses were so very small, when I needed a drink I'd have to fill the glass up 3 times! And also, the tiny nescafe coffee sachets are never a joy, quite the opposite. Investing in some better coffee for the rooms would a huge plus! But the yorshire, absolute beauty! The staff were all so fabulous; helpful, charming, polite and a shining example of the hotel's overall quality. We had a fabulous stay and would absolutely consider staying again.

Have stayed multiple times before but on this occassion the music was loud until 1am (we were not pre warned of this) and the plumbing caused a very annoying vibrating hum for most of the night that resulted in only 4 hours sleep on a night away that was supposed to help us relax and to prepare us for xmas.

Poor service regarding people not answering the phone. Had to change rooms because of leaking toilet and was informed that there was no maintenance personnel over the weekend. Tried calling the spa receptionist to book a session but no one responded. Tried to order room service but no response after trying numerous times.

We arrived late on Thursday evening. We stood at the reception having to press the bell twice before any came to check us in. Stood for 5-6 minutes. When we arrived to our room, the kids sofa bed had not been made and we had no sheets, pillows etc for them. Booking a suite with four persons I would have expected the bed to be made up. The breakfast was really nice.

Hotel is fine for a short stay, the breakfast was poor, limited options, some food and drink ran out early. Coffee machine broken and long waits to get a drink. Hot food was dry and over held. Otherwise it’s fine for what it is. Long wait to check in and out and people complaining about mis charges to their room bill, this was not a problem for us on this stay.

Most staff were unfriendly, not engaging, majority of them miserable! On check out we had one member of staff smile at us. I've never felt so unwelcome in a hotel. Checked in and had to ask what time breakfast was, where was our room and pay a £50 holding fee just in case I use room service. That wasn't stated in the booking through the site I booked. Every question I asked I got an eye roll response. I asked receptionist about the bar and food, she said "menu in the room" (no menu was in our room). I asked how to get to my room, was told "the lift behind you" I looked to see the lift and turned round to say thank you and she was straight on the phone as if my prescence was an inconvenience for her! I felt like I'd get a better welcome just signing in on a tablet. Breakfast staff, well, I got to the welcome desk and said my room number, waitress couldn't see it so just said no worries and stared at me, so I asked "do I just help myself? " and she said "yep". I asked another member of staff where the toast was as I hadn't spotted it, she rolled her eyes and stated "over there!" The coffee machine broke and I let the same member know and she just looked at me then walked on! The bed was very uncomfortable and only two pillows provided with no extra in a cupboard, even premier inn have those. The pillows were lifeless and we had the most uncomfortable sleep! All in all, I normally walk into hotels and feel welcomed by polite and friendly staff, not here!

Hotel is bright and rooms were spacious, with a large comfortable bed and big well-finished bathroom. Staff dealt with email enquiries before our visit promptly and helpfully. However bar area was poor, service was slow and glasses piled up everywhere, with staff complaining amongst themselves. It felt more like a late-night in a pub than hotel bar. Breakfast the next morning was similarly patchy for finding staff, we and others had to ask for cups, bowls etc. multiple times. Didn't feel a Marriott-level of service, especially for price

Problem with check in. Charged me again for a room I’d already paid for. They were insistent that I hadn’t paid, even after I’d showed them my receipt. Eventually, it was sorted but no apology regarding the mix up. Otherwise, everything else was okay.

Lovely hotel and grounds. Staff very friendly, helpful, accommodating and efficient …. went above and beyond to source non feather pillows for our asthmatic family member … (staff member went to store to buy some as all existing ones being used) … outstanding service 😃 thank you. We initially had a problem with rooms being too far apart (as traveling with a disabled person and needed them close), but it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Rooms were spotless, very roomy and beds extremely comfortable. The Leisure pool/ sauna/ steam room were lovely …. had a large disabled changing room which was great and we used this every day. Overall we had a lovely 2 night stay and would definitely return next time we are visiting family again.

We enjoyed using the spa facilities in the morning, although we would have also liked to use them in the evening but they closed about 8pm I think. Breakfast selection was excellent and the service was attentive, yet relaxed and friendly. Surprisingly tranquil setting given the proximity to major roads. Location is therefore very easy to drive to. Plentiful parking.

Easily accessible and plenty of free parking, fantastic facilities including lovely pool and spa, comfy kingsize bed and spacious spotless rooms, very good value!! Breakfast add-on is quite steep and check-in process was a bit transactional but second receptionist was very polite, friendly and keep to help.

the property is okay, but it just so happened that there was a major road closure around 3 miles from the hotel. This gave us the run-around delays and un-updated car GPS taking us back to the same spot where the road was closed (for at least 1 year) . Thus, this road closure made our driving experience to the hotel, not a great one, to say the least.

Room in good condition and regularly serviced. However heating was not working for first day of stay. Staff provided a heater for our room, but the restaurant was also unbearably cold, so much so our first breakfast there was a misery, and we were relieved to leave the room. Quality and variety of food at breakfast was not what we were accustomed to in a 4 star hotel.

2 night stay. Very nice hotel, took advantage of the facilities all of which very good. Hotel staff helpful with commuting in and out of Cheltenham via bus links. The only disappointment was the price of breakfast, £17. Coffe was poor and from a machine. Personally I’d expect better for the price. Having said this, I enjoyed my stay and would book again when in the area

Lovely stay. Would definitely go back. Nice room, breakfast was good, and dinner too. My only negative really is that the swimming pool has annoying opening times on the weekend so we couldn't really go. Not sure why they have to shorten the opening times by so much on the weekend.

Hotel itself was comfortable and clean but the food was disappointing. Our emerging meal comprised burgers which came in wet buns (as if they had been just defrosted). Breakfast was poor. The eggs were hard and cold. In fact the original eggs out were all crispy round the edges. The croissant was dry and not edible.

The hotel itself was very nice and we had everything we needed. The breakfast was good but dinner was terrible. Poor quality food, either under cooked or overcooked. Staff need training up to hotel standard.

The place was comfy and quiet and the spa was a nice treat. The food was a little awkward for vegetarians and the wifi didn't work through the TV to stream Netflix etc. Reception didn't know how to resolve this

A middle of the road hotel with okay facilities. Everything was clean. Some areas could do with a little attention (e.g. broken lift which looked like it had been out of action a long time). Staff were often distracted (joking around talking to each other rather than serving) and looked visibly annoyed when responding to small requests (e.g. lime slice rather than lemon). Staff seemed very overwhelmed having a wedding at the hotel, and the normal bar area needed extra staff to clear tables, so many dirty glasses on all the tables. Spa team did manage to squeeze us in for a treatment but we'd not been able to pre book as their system was down, which they didn't know about.
