We found the staff (especially Gabriel-she was soooo friendly and helped plan out our days and told us about the fireworks, James at breakfast- he knew we loved your pear juice, Angel our waitress at dinner was delightful, energetic and so attentive and informed about wines as was the patient and wonderful bartender, Veronica (sorry if I misspelled her name), the young/tall waiter who serves with his hand behind his back was so sweet and professional, Alexander was informative at check-in.” Room 803 had a great view and the room was modern. The breakfast was plentiful and the dinner were out-of-this-world. We missed not having a pool or exercise room.

Parking confusion. Functioning and tarification of the parking garage turned out to be unclear. We received a ticket at the desk which was supposedly allowed us to park. We couldn't get the machine to read the ticket. So we used a credit card. Then, when leaving, we had trouble using the card. Couldn't get the gate to open. We almost got charged by the hotel and the garage operator. In fairness, it turns out that the garage is operated by the city, not the ITHQ. Stressful.

Quite possibly the best hotel I've ever been to. From the beautiful lobby to the exceptional service to the modern room to the excellent restaurant breakfast, Hotel I'ITHQ provided a wonderful experience for our stay in Montreal. We were in town to see an Alanna Sterling - Mermaid Unicorn concert a short drive away. The hotel's parking garage added an excellent convenience. I would highly recommend it and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Montreal.

The room is beautifully designed. Shower has a rainfall shower head. No tub. There was an umbrella in the closet which I used during my stay. Balcony to get some fresh air and look around, or have coffee out there if the weather is warm. Little Nespresso coffee maker. Hot breakfast is very good. Indoor underground parking was very easy to use. Would recommend.

As an American, the property was very accommodating for our lacking French. The hotel is a 1 minute walk from the metro, the parking garage under the building is $20/Can ($15 USD) daily. The free breakfast buffet is very good. Hotel is clean and recently renovated, in 2023 according to staff. Would absolutely stay here again for convenience and comfort.

A friend and I spent one night at the hotel I'ITHQ in Montreal. It was a great experience. This hotel is associated with a school of hospitality so everyone working there is a student at the school. There were a couple minor mistakes made, but they were quickly corrected. The second bed in the 2 bed rooms is a Murphy bed which we were a bit concerned about but it had a thick mattress and was very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of options. Parking available underground for a reasonable price. The hotel is not in old town if that is your destination. It was very convenient for our visits to the jean talon market, botanical gardens, Mount royal and Fairmount bagels. Hotel looked and smashed clean and updated. They have only around 40 rooms so it fills up quickly. If you want to be in that area, I highly recommend.

Very clean room. I do a bedbug check every time I enter a hotel room. During these checks I usually find dirt, dust, hair, bug molts, etc. I did not find so much as a stray hair in this room. It was completely spotless. The hotel layout was a little confusing though. Overall I'm very impressed and will stay again.

We stayed in a suite on the 8th floor. It had a separate bedroom and the second bed was a fold out couch. As expected the fold out couch wasn’t very comfortable but the space was amazing. Way more room than we needed. We loved the place!

Hôtel pratique et bien placé proche du plateau et du centre ville. Pratique en voiture car la rue est large et peu fréquentée. Parking en sous-sol et petit déjeuner varié. Manque un peu de superficie pour 4 personnes et balcon inutilisable à cause des souffleries de climatisation.

Awesome spot on plateau Mont Royal. We wished we had stayed here the first few days were in Montreal instead of the old quarter. The staff was so nice. There is a tourism program from the university imbedded in hotel, they could not have been more helpful. The rooms we're great ..stayed on 8th floor with great views of the city. I highly recommend.it..walking distance to coolest neighborhoods. We rented bikes across street everyday. Fiad, at front desk was great to chat with.

Our check-in was an hour late, and we waited in the lobby for almost an hour, being told more than once that it was "just another 5-10 minutes". The receptionist was nice but I think was saying "5-10 minutes" to keep peace but if they had just said it could be about an hour would have just been better because then we would have got a snack somewhere or something, instead of just sitting around. Once we were in, the room was clean, amenities were nice, and the beds were comfy to sleep in.

The Hotel de l'ITHQ is in an ideal location halfway between the plateau and the center city, making both walkable. There are a number of great restaurants in the neighborhood and it is above the Sherbrooke subway station. The rooms are very nicely appointed and the balconies make the space quite enjoyable. There are a small number of rooms, so reception service is sometimes understaffed.

⭐ 1-star review Title: A deeply disappointing stay at a hotel that failed its mission of hospitality I’ve stayed at the ITHQ Hotel in Montreal several times over the years, and have enjoyed dining in their restaurant. But this visit was an emotionally distressing and unforgettable disappointment, made worse by the very institution that’s supposed to represent the best in hospitality education. From the moment I arrived, I was met with cold, rigid, and robotic treatment from the junior front desk staff (students in training). When a minor mistake occurred—my partner smoked a single cigarette on our suite’s balcony before we noticed the “no smoking” sign the following morning—I was hit with an automatic $580 penalty. When I tried to explain, I was shut down with dogmatic replies like “it’s the law,” with zero empathy, flexibility, or willingness to listen. The so-called “hospitality professionals” in training treated me like an offender, not a guest. For three days, no manager was available to speak with me. I waited patiently, explained my distress in writing, and made it clear that I felt unwelcome and might leave early. No one followed up. Instead, mid-level supervisors deflected, refused to escalate the issue, and blamed their policies—or Expedia—for their refusal to offer any compassion. As a result, I left the hotel a day early, on my birthday, emotionally depleted from the constant stress and total lack of human connection. The staff had made me feel so unwelcome,

Stayed 4 nights for our first time Montreal and this hotel fit the bill for all our wants: lively bars, dining, parks, close to station, quiet, and clean. Will definitely stay again and recommend to our friends and family. The concierge is also the best and most polite!

The Hotel de l'ITHQ is in an ideal location halfway between the plateau and the center city, making both walkable. There are a number of great restaurants in the neighborhood and it is above the Sherbrooke subway station. The rooms are very nicely appointed and the balconies make the space quite enjoyable. There are a small number of rooms, so reception service is sometimes understaffed.

Awesome spot on plateau Mont Royal. We wished we had stayed here the first few days were in Montreal instead of the old quarter. The staff was so nice. There is a tourism program from the university imbedded in hotel, they could not have been more helpful. The rooms we're great ..stayed on 8th floor with great views of the city. I highly recommend.it..walking distance to coolest neighborhoods. We rented bikes across street everyday. Fiad, at front desk was great to chat with.

The room is great - spacious and a comfortable bed and a balcony with a nice view over the city. Nice cosy bathroom, but the lighting needs attention as there’s not enough light in the bathroom. I was almost showering in the dark. Breakfast is included which is rare in Canada, but the choices are limited. Also the hot food is made in a huge amount before service starts, which is ok at the start, but after 2 hours the scrambled eggs look nothing like eggs and are tasteless. At least it was free, as I wouldn’t have paid. At breakfast I asked for an Americano, but was told I can’t have it unless I pay extra! I could only have the lukewarm filter coffee for free. Overall the hotel is very quiet, as there’s only rooms on 2 floors (out of 8), about 25 rooms.its also a training school for hotel staff. Staff are friendly and competent. I’d stay again if back in Montreal.

I stayed one evening for work and I would certainly come back again. The space is clean and modern, and I felt safe as a female solo traveller. Angelique was my concierge at check in, and she was so pleasant and helpful. I forgot to pack my phone charger and was on single digits of battery life - she saved my evening with letting me borrow hers as it was nearly 10pm. She didn’t have to but certainly went above for me and I truly appreciate it. Other notable positives: - TV is modern and has Bluetooth and YT app connection capabilities - in room Nespresso with milk/creamer and water in fridge - spacious balcony with bistro table and chairs - a small but satisfying breakfast buffet is included with your stay (the scrambled eggs, croissants and smoked salmon caper bagels were a hit) - if you’re taking transit, the subway station is next door. Small negative: - Neighbouring guests were on the balcony and you can hear everything as it’s next to each other. They weren’t obnoxious by any means but you can just hear conversations if you’re sensitive to noise
