Property has and still being renovation which is good! Lets hope the renovation is for the best stay and safety! All it needs now is a few overnight chargers for Electric Vehicles/Hybrids!

Always have good stay here. The parking situation stinks I will say it again... there should be YELLOW X's in front of the walkways/steps in the #400 block of rooms. Cars and construction vehicles should not be allowed to park there. It's very difficult to climb over a railroad tie and walk up wet grass and make your room floor slippery! The parking lot is my only complaint of this hotel. There are plenty of parking spaces there there's no reason for people to park in front of the steps. The Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel is a nice addition to the area and the food is very good and reasonably priced.

Customer service was great, the room did not look anything like the pictures shown on site. My bedroom blanket was dirty and also had poop or blood on it. From the window of my room the back area of the hotel looked horrible. Green pool water and a tennis court area that looked like the monsters from the movies Tremors destroyed it. My microwave in my room did not work and neither did the remote for the tv. I could turn the tv on and control the volume but, anything other than that the tv channel couldn't change. All in all I was a little disappointed.

Ok property. First floor worked well as no elevators. Electrical outlets (2) did not work; therefore unable to use hair dryer. Bathroom was tiny and needs renovation. Sleeping room recently done. Next time I would stay in Ashland.

It is freshly redone, but very poorly. The railing outside the building is patched poorly. Inside the room you can tell that they painted over wall paper. The paint is bubbled up and pulling away from the wall. The floors are dirty throughout. The toilet wasn't secure and leaked. The shower was dirty. The ac/heat unit had tape where they half hazardly spliced a new plug to fit the outlet. The positive? It's a quick walk to Kings Dominion, the staff is nice, and the beds were dry.

This property looks like they are trying hard to improve it. Rooms were clean. Management was professional. Property is run down, but I saw new plants and shrubs going in...so they are trying. Pool was not filled and looked like it needed help. Tennis court was not good.

We always have a great stay at the Red Roof Inn Doswell. The only issues we had were the parking situation, the areas in front of the steps should have a yellow X on them so cars don't park there. It's difficult to climb the hill around a car that is blocking the steps. Also our room was missing the TV remote. The front desk gentleman who was very sweet, came to our room and tried to get a remote to work. He was not successful but it was no fault of his own. We were just grateful that someone tried. We were offered another room, but this was not a reason to move rooms. This is definitely NOT an issue that would deter us away from staying again.... we will be back.

The room appears clean upon first arriving. Quickly found dirty socks left from a previous guest. They weee in plain sight so there is no way they could have been overlooked from the cleaning staff. The cable was pit for the duration of our stay. Not weather related.

I specifically booked this hotel for use of the fridge but when I turned the lights on, two small roaches ran across the stove area. In the fridge there were a few dead roaches. Then my daughter found a very large roach on the floor. The check in process was good and the man there was nice but that changed when we wanted a refund so we could stay at a different hotel.

I had low expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The room seems to have been recently renovated and it was beautiful. I will definitely stay here again on my frequent travel through the area.

The room was clean. The linens were new and fresh. The bathroom was very small but clean enough. The rooms seem to have been recently refreshed. Most importantly, to me, there are no rugs! It was fine for our overnight stay as we were passing through. We would stay again when traveling.

This place was absolutely disgusting. The rooms have black mold on the ceiling from water leaks, the room barely cools because the wall unit air conditioner is so old, the bath tub has sediment stains, the toilet ran nonstop and was barely attached to the wall (so it tilted forward with a loud bang every time you sat on it), there was LITERALLY a giant spider/web stemming from the bed to the night stand, just a hotel in desperate need of remodeling. I would highly recommend against staying here.

Easy check in, great staff, comfortable bed. A safe comfortable night. FYI, when ordering delivery, make sure you have the correct RRI. Also, if you're a light sleeper, this property is right next to the thruway, you will hear the traffic.

As close as you can get to Kings Dominion. But the motel style rooms let a lot of flies in. The bathroom is in disrepair and the soap dispensers were difficult to get any liquid out of. The beds were not very comfortable, not enough pillows, and the ac was quite loud.

Kinda Clean. Worse bed, madress slides of easy. Decent shower. Bad towels, small and got spots. Decent Wifi, not good speed and logouts. Best location for Kings Dominion. Good Mexican restaurang next door. Good AC. Highway noise if room face it.

The only issues we had was that the ac unit worked, but never kept the room cool. Im not sure if the switches were broken or if it was just older and needs to be replaced. Other than that; everything was awesome.

It was ok for the price and a short stay but the floors were a bit dirty. Lady that checked us in was very nice. Could use more channels on the tv. There were only 5 or 6. The shower had good water pressure. The refrigerator needs help. Terrible to try to open and close the door on it. Bed ok. The Mexican restaurant next door was ok but the salsa that comes with the chips could be a lot better. The beer was cold. The server had a hard time understanding English it seemed. There is nowhere much to eat breakfast or dinner in that area outside of kings dominion. We found ourselves going to Ashland for meals.

The room was okay for the price. Wasn’t the cleanest, and the beds were comfortable. Depending on the time of day and if other people and other rooms were using the shower, depended on if you were able to have hot water or not. Late in the afternoon/evening there was no hot water.

Small but comfortable room. The bed was comfortable, which I can't often say at hotels in general. The facility is old but has clearly had some renovation in the room, such as new floors. Still, there was a little peeling on the walls and things like that. All in all though, a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

The room was clean, the furniture was all new, I liked that the floor were not covered with old filthy carpet but with modern vinyl planks. The only complain - wifi did not work properly, constantly disconnecting and the containers on the wall for soap and shampoo were empty both in the bathroom and near the sink - what's the point of those containers if they are empty?

Facility not well managed. Trash all over exterior areas. Shower/bath drain plug broken off and sitting on side of tub. Shower gel dispenser fell off wall of shower when touched. Local watermain break caused boil advisory and shut down nearby Kings Dominion park for two days. Facility never notified any of the lodgers. Found outfrom local news. Overall a terrible experience. Decided to give it a second try, but even more disappointed. Never again.

Stay was great until the end. At the end my wife and I woke up to having no outlets and our phones dead. Tried calling the front desk to try and get this fixed little did I know my room phone did not work. I walked to the front desk in the pouring rain, again because the phones did not work. I was able to speak to a front desk representative named Emy who was to the most least of help. She stated she needed to see if it worked and then came to my room and worked her way in to check and proceeded to yell at my wife and I because we wanted it fixed and to speak with a manager. Emy proceeded to be rude throughout the process until checkout time.

We were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to our room! After seeing this building abandon for many years, they really turned it in to nice place to stay. The staff was so kind. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean and we love not having carpet! Very quiet and comfy for the most part other than hearing rolling luggage early in the morning. Great location to Kings Dominion. Wanted to try the attached Mexican restaurant however we weren't able to. We arrived too late the first night due to the weather and the second night it was closed when the Park closed. Overall we had a very good stay and will definitely consider this hotel for our next trip to Kings Dominion.

The outside or the building looks very worn out, there was mud and dirt all over the walkways and stairs. Plus the stairs were wood and look very worn out. Some of the rooms had inside chairs sitting outside,very tacky. The worst part is about 11:30 at night and the water in the room stopped working I called the front desk and they said they were working on it. I went to bed the next morning I woke up and the water was running again but it came out with a lot of air so thank goodness I chose to brush my teeth with a bottle of water but I did shower unfortunately. I left the hotel and went across the street to a convenience store to get some ice for my cooler and saw a sign on their door that a water main had broken and there was a boil advisory. So it's absolutely disgusting that the hotel did not warn their guests not to drink or use that water My plan on contacting the department of health

Arrived at 9:30 AM from a 9 hour drive. Asked the counter worker about possible early check in. He informed me the room was not ready, and was really intrigued if I was going to Kings Dominion. Arrived at 9:30 AM from a 9 hour drive. Asked the counter worker about possible early check in. He informed me the room was not ready, and was really intrigued if I was going to Kings Dominion. Easy check in, great staff, comfortable bed. A safe comfortable night. FYI, when ordering delivery, make sure you have the correct RRI. Also, if you're a light sleeper, this property is right next to the thruway, you will hear the traffic.

The property is currently under renovation so the outside is still a work in progress, but the rooms are newly renovated with updated furniture and fixtures. Great location if you are going to Kings Dominion, you you could literally walk to the park.

Kinda Clean. Worse bed, madress slides of easy. Decent shower. Bad towels, small and got spots. Decent Wifi, not good speed and logouts. Best location for Kings Dominion. Good Mexican restaurang next door. Good AC. Highway noise if room face it.

Very nice receptionist, check in early! Super close to kings domion, dont have to pay for parking. Rooms are nice, and mexican restaurant is delicious. Very nice for a quick stay!

Room was perfect for a weekend trip to KD, easy check in and easy to walk to park from hotel. Beds were comfy and recent renovations were nice, bathroom/showers show the age of building but everything was clean and usable. The only downside was no breakfast option, but we would stay here again!

Overall is was fine. Close to Kings Dominion, it’s an ok place to sleep. The staff wasn’t particularly friendly or welcoming. The condition of the grounds was unpleasant. There’s a tennis court between the properties that’s in major disrepair. The place was closed for a while. They’re painting the rooms and putting new furniture and bedding in them. The bathrooms need gutted, but they were clean enough. The place doesn’t add to your vacation experience. It’s a place to wait until the park opens.

It was ok for the price and a short stay but the floors were a bit dirty. Lady that checked us in was very nice. Could use more channels on the tv. There were only 5 or 6. The shower had good water pressure. The refrigerator needs help. Terrible to try to open and close the door on it. Bed ok. The Mexican restaurant next door was ok but the salsa that comes with the chips could be a lot better. The beer was cold. The server had a hard time understanding English it seemed. There is nowhere much to eat breakfast or dinner in that area outside of kings dominion. We found ourselves going to Ashland for meals.

Service was great and room was very nice for the price. Has a Mexican restaurant in the hotel, and they give you to go margaritas if you’re staying there. Only bad was our shower leaked.

Overall, our experience at the hotel was positive, with a few notable exceptions. Despite the friendly staff and initially clean, spacious, and pleasantly scented room that remained comfortably cool throughout our stay, there were some disappointments. During our 2 night stay, housekeeping did not attend to our room for routine cleaning tasks like emptying trash, making beds, vacuuming or sweeping, and cleaning the bathroom. We also had to personally request fresh towels, instead of them being replaced as part of the room service. This included us having to physically return dirty to obtain clean towels from the front desk. Additionally, the mattress on the bed seemed to shift unexpectedly, which was somewhat inconvenient. On a brighter note, the Mexican restaurant connected to the hotel was exceptional, adding to the overall positive experience.

The room was clean. The linens were new and fresh. The bathroom was very small but clean enough. The rooms seem to have been recently refreshed. Most importantly, to me, there are no rugs! It was fine for our overnight stay as we were passing through. We would stay again when traveling.
