We stayed two nights for a birthday celebration as the pictures looked beautiful. The surrounding area is indeed beautiful, the falls are worth seeing and the village is lovely too. The bar area is lovely and you can tell lots of attention given to details there. The gas was off for one of the nights we were there so we didn’t have hot water, it was also my birthday and I wanted to wash so wasn’t the best. Unfortunately, our room was not in the best condition. It looked like it needed a good spruce up. There was a vent in the bathroom looking up you could see loads of cobwebs. The ceilings are slanted and unfortunately you hit your head a lot. There were cracks in the ceiling where people had hit their heads previously. There were also other peoples hairs in the sink when we arrived. Wouldn’t spend the money we did on this hotel again but the area around is beautiful so if you want somewhere convenient this is the place to be.

A typical inn, bustling when we arrived. Check in easy but in the pub so unusual. Food was excellent, especially dinner. Staff very friendly and super helpful. The room we had was very small, and in need of some grooming. But the location and quaint atmosphere were great.

This is a beautiful area and the hotel is right across the street from the Falls. The dinner and breakfast were excellent as well. They make smoked salmon on site where it can also be purchased. I was sad we only stayed one night, could have stayed a few more days to explore the area more. The room was very clean. We had the family room with the twin bunk beds. The stairs up to the room are very steep so if you have any mobility issues it could be difficult.

The hotel was lovely, staff very helpful and friendly. Location was stunning. Our only disappointment was that the smokehouse wasn't open for us to purchase any of the salmon & smoked cheese

The hotel, restaurant and coffee shop were bustling with New Year revellers. The hotel accommodation is rustic. Rooms are bit too small for the size of the beds - no space for luggage. Plenty of options for a pint or a bite to eat, either in the hotel itself or in the village. Great spot for scenic walks and the smokehouse at the back does some great fayre. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

The location of this property is amazing. It’s quirky and full of character and the staff are really friendly. This is a small family run business and has local beers and locally sourced food. 5 stars all round for us. Only negative is could do with slightly bigger TV and better areal or sky.

Delightful country inn with a smokehouse where you can lunch on locally produced food. Evening meal at the Inn was also very good. The best thing however is the proximity to the Falls of Dochart. Highly recommend.

We stayed in room 1. Free parking, busy but always a space available for us. View of the store rooms and kitchen with an air conditioning unit below the window. The room was hot so we needed to keep the window open. The room was small with limited storage and the ceiling of the bathroom sloped so impossible to stand up to shower. No shower curtain either so only option was a bath - I'm not a fan of a bath and prefer to shower. The fittings, finish and furnishings were of a very high quality as were the toiletries. The bar had a very good range of beers, wines and spirits and the food is frankly excellent and absolutely worth the short comings of the room. Service was odd ... everyone friendly and lovely but on day 1 we waited an hour for our starter and on day 2 I had to go to the bar to ask to order after we'd been sat down for 20 minutes. Free deserts were given as an apology, which was very good customer service I felt. Genuinely really enjoyed our stay ... the good outweighs the negatives by far.

Friendly staff, charming old interior of restaurant/bar and cafe. On the upper floor where the rooms were, the carpet was filthy with large stains from an old skylight leak. The bed was so old you could feel the springs in your back, pillows old and lumpy, quills of feathers in down comforter pricked your skin constantly, bathroom sink light was out, tiles behind toilet had fallen out. It was impossible to get any sleep.

The bathroom in our room only had a tub, no standing shower. The ceiling was so low that you had to crouch to use the tub. The toilet seat was broken. The floor of the room was dirty.

Atmospheric bar & restaurant, beautifully appointed room. Breakfast was incredible! I looked forward to my smoked salmon every morning. Husband had the vegetarian breakfast and said it was also excellent. I liked the system of selecting breakfast the night before. The town is super walkable with location next to the peaceful & romantic waterfalls. Outdoor tables packed with people gave it an energetic but casual hub-of-the-village vibe. Hallway carpeting (with old water stains?) and walls showing some wear & tear, but nothing that impaired function or charm. Good value.

Nothing was unique. It was very dirty (carpet, curtains, window, outdoor planters, hair in the floor of the bathroom and shower, insects on the walls, floor and bed. When I saw the bottle of the shampoo empty, I asked them and they told me tu buy one in the nearest shop. Tables of the dinning room were sticky. We will NEVER be back at this hotel. DO NOT RESERVE, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL, EVER. IF YO DO IT, YOU WILL REGRET

The stairs to the bedrooms were very steep with inadequate handrails. It was very difficult to climb the stairs whilst carrying luggage. The bedroom was very small and cramped making it difficult to move around. There was no carpet in the bedroom.

The bed was so old you could feel the springs in your back, pillows old and lumpy, quills of feathers in down comforter pricked your skin constantly, bathroom sink light was out, tiles behind toilet had fallen out. It was impossible to get any sleep.

It was a lovely stay with very helpful friendly staff. I was a little unwell and they were very accommodating. Definitely recommend it for a place to stay with good food on offer over a varied menu.

Nothing was unique. It was very dirty (carpet, curtains, window, outdoor planters, hair in the floor of the bathroom and shower, insects on the walls, floor and bed. When I saw the bottle of the shampoo empty, I asked them and they told me tu buy one in the nearest shop. Tables of the dinning room were sticky. We will NEVER be back at this hotel. DO NOT RESERVE, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL, EVER. IF YO DO IT, YOU WILL REGRET

Plenty of options for a pint or a bite to eat, either in the hotel itself or in the village. Great spot for scenic walks and the smokehouse at the back does some great fayre. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

We stayed in room 1. Free parking, busy but always a space available for us. View of the store rooms and kitchen with an air conditioning unit below the window. The room was hot so we needed to keep the window open. The room was small with limited storage and the ceiling of the bathroom sloped so impossible to stand up to shower. No shower curtain either so only option was a bath - I'm not a fan of a bath and prefer to shower. The fittings, finish and furnishings were of a very high quality as were the toiletries. The bar had a very good range of beers, wines and spirits and the food is frankly excellent and absolutely worth the short comings of the room. Service was odd ... everyone friendly and lovely but on day 1 we waited an hour for our starter and on day 2 I had to go to the bar to ask to order after we'd been sat down for 20 minutes. This is a beautiful area and the hotel is right across the street from the Falls. The dinner and breakfast were excellent as well. They make smoked salmon on site where it can also be purchased. I was sad we only stayed one night, could have stayed a few more days to explore the area more. The room was very clean. We had the family room with the twin bunk beds. The stairs up to the room are very steep so if you have any mobility issues it could be difficult.

This is my favourite spot in Scotland and the Falls of Dochart Hotel is a fantastic place to stay, eat and drink! Great service and wonderful food, Sharon really did make our stay! So laid back and welcoming! I’ve been before and I’ll definitely be back. One bit of advice… book early as it’s popular! Loved our river view room, sitting by the window, having a drink and watching the falls, people and world go by!

Lovely old Inn which was friendly and welcoming with great food and overlooking the falls. It was super convenient as in our route home. The bed in our standard room was quite small for us tall people and the room was so hot but otherwise comfy.

Atmospheric bar & restaurant, beautifully appointed room. Breakfast was incredible! I looked forward to my smoked salmon every morning. Husband had the vegetarian breakfast and said it was also excellent. I liked the system of selecting breakfast the night before. The town is super walkable with location next to the peaceful & romantic waterfalls. Outdoor tables packed with people gave it an energetic but casual hub-of-the-village vibe. Hallway carpeting (with old water stains?) and walls showing some wear & tear, but nothing that impaired function or charm. Good value.

Quite average, room wasn't the cleanest, the mattress had seen better days and was sunken in the middle, no shower gel in the bathroom (despite 3 dispensers - all empty). Breakfast was on the small side but what was offered was fine.

The check in was confusing, there wasn’t a clear entrance to check in, you had to go to the bar. And instead of a welcome and show to our room after a very long drive, we were pressed right away about eating breakfast, what we wanted and time, and dinner reservations. It just felt very pushy and rushed, especially after a long drive and needing to use a toilet. And the two young girls running the restaurant were not very clear on explaining our bill. First one of them told us that we could add our meal to the room and pay when we leave, then when we were leaving our dinner table another girl was insistent on paying everything in advance at once, so we did, and then again the next morning, they had no record of our paying and we had to pull up our bank statement to show the gentlemen at breakfast. The shower was not as described in my option. It is a standard European bathtub, with a very low ceiling and no curtain. Don’t expect to stand, you have to hold the shower head and sit to bathe. The bed was not that comfortable. The location is prime for walking anywhere, views of the falls and mountains and mill are gorgeous, and the salmon was phenomenal!! Five stars to the smoked salmon house next door and the server there. We loved it!

We had two nights booked here in a standard double room. The trip to our room let's say was different. There was no bannister on the stairs but a rope! My husband struggles with his balance so found this not ideal. Also room was small and had coomb ceilings which he bumped his head on regularly standing up (my husband 5ft 10) The kettle flex was too short so had to boil kettle on floor! Quirky yes indeed. We made the best of but did feel the price of the room was too high for what they offered. The food was good especially the breakfasts. I heard people complaining that the pub closed far too early. It was early summer for goodness sake!!
