We had an excellent stay was amazing. We loved the front room with the fire place to relax after a long walk. One thing to remember if having a dinner there, the chef does a limited menu and sources local so if you are not an adventures eater there are few choices. But the food was delicious.

The Lovat at Loch Ness is a charming and stylish lakeside hotel. The property has two lovely lounges, even a grand piano, and is equipped with an elevator — a thoughtful touch. Positioned just outside the busiest part of town yet very convenient for everything. Charge points in the car park (charge point Scotland, and Tesla) were very handy for us EV users. If anything a little too warm at night (tho’ I suspect non-British or ‘maturer’ visitors appreciate it warmer.

Nice room, lovely big bed and TV in the bathroom was a treat. Lovely little surprises like the complimentary hot chocolate sticks made by the hotel. Cosy sitting room with fire to enjoy your drinks.

Loved our stay here, it’s worth the price and the trip! We liked it so much, we would come back here for another vacation and stay here the entire time! Lots of easy parking available! As soon as we walked in, we felted welcomed! We were greeted with a welcome drink and was told all about everything they offered! Our room was soooo cute! We loved the fact that the TV’s came out of the beds, everything was so modern and echo friendly. The room felt so cozy and clean, it made you want to just stay inside the entire time instead of leave to explore! They even offer hot chocolate and snacks in the mini fridge. The views were also fantastic of the Loch Ness! The town is right down the street and easy to walk too. I would definitely recommend this place!

Great hotel. We checked in late. Rooms were clean and updated. Only downside was that coffee bar was in closet despite having two tables outside. Making coffee inside that closet and finding twitch to turn it on was challenging but not deal breaker. Will surely stay here if I visit the area again.

For the price, this place disappointed. Welcome toddies were offered at check-in but a non-alcoholic option was only available for a charge. The bathroom needed attention (e.g., toilet ran, shower door off its track). Dinner at Station Road had waitstaff that was not versed in the menu and a wee bit frenetic, as well as unaware of pre-booked vegetarian and birthday requests.

Great location, great breakfast and dinner was amazing. Room was awesome with only one exception - the bottom sheet was not fitted and moved too easily exposing the mattress underneath. It seems like such an easy thing to correct. Everything else was great.

Very nice property and friendly/helpful staff. The room was super hot when we got there. Previous guests must have cranked up the radiators. Bathroom never really cooled down, and can’t turn off the heated floors which heat the room. We opened the windows high but you risk birds and insects. Staff provided a fan which helped bit hard to sleep when too hot. Other than that all was very nice stay.

We stayed one night on bed and breakfast basis. We also dined there on the three course set menu. It was fairly pricey after adding pre dinner drinks and a couple of glasses of wine however we couldn’t fault a thing. Food was amazing. Modern, inventive and very, very tasty. Presentation was first class. Staff were exceptionally friendly. Our room was in The Loft. Small but immaculate with a quirky Alice in Wonderland theme. We hope to return!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lovat. The staff was the best of all of Scotland(from Edinburg, Fort Augustus and Isle of Skye). The hotel is beautiful and you can walk a short distance to town. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

The rooms were well acquainted, as well as the lounges. Staff was eager to help and extremely hospitable. Would definitely stay here again if our travels took us that direction.

First stop on NC500 - hot bath was very welcome after a long 10 hour drive - Lovely toiletries MASSIVE bed that I struggled to get in to as only 5ft and had to jump up - Nice fresh cooked breakfast Lovely staff

The Lovat is a beautiful hotel with helpful staff and lovely comfortable rooms. The surroundings are stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed the recommended walk to the “secret waterfall”, amazing. Would definately stay here again.

Great for our overnight stay in Fort Augustus. We had the loft room which was very comfortable and quiet. Parking was good, staff was friendly. Would recommend.

We loved this property. All the shops and pubs were walkable. The walk down to the lake was also quite beautiful. Our room was very comfortable. The staff were very nice and accommodating as well. This hotel is A .

We loved the stay we had at the Lovat. Breakfasts were delicious and the proximity to the lake and local attractions was a bonus. The staff were incredibly welcoming too.

The Lovat at Loch Ness is a charming and stylish lakeside hotel. The property has two lovely lounges, even a grand piano, and is equipped with an elevator — a thoughtful touch. Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight: besides the classic Highland Breakfast, we tried the Kedgeree (smoked haddock with curried rice and poached egg), which was absolutely delicious and a wonderful Scottish surprise. The hotel’s location in Fort Augustus adds to the experience. The town itself is full of character, with the Caledonian Canal locks right at the center — watching the boats rise and fall is like a slow, graceful performance. We only stayed one night but wished we had stayed longer to enjoy the rhythm and atmosphere of this beautiful place.

A lovely building in a great location in the central highlands. Ashame they only serve fooin the restaurant which was fully booked throughout our 3-night stay. Staff is friendly but could be more attentive and proactive to feel truly welcomed.

Positioned just outside the busiest part of town yet very convenient for everything. Charge points in the car park (charge point Scotland, and Tesla) were very handy for us EV users. If anything a little too warm at night (tho’ I suspect non-British or ‘maturer’ visitors appreciate it warmer.

Great location. Exemplary property, almost right on top of the locks into Loch Ness. Wonderful experience in its totality. Definitely recommend staying here!

We had an excellent stay was amazing. We loved the front room with the fire place to relax after a long walk. One thing to remember if having a dinner there, the chef does a limited menu and sources local so if you are not an adventures eater there are few choices. But the food was delicious.

Great location, great breakfast and dinner was amazing. Room was awesome with only one exception - the bottom sheet was not fitted and moved too easily exposing the mattress underneath. It seems like such an easy thing to correct. Everything else was great.

We stayed one night on bed and breakfast basis. We also dined there on the three course set menu. It was fairly pricey after adding pre dinner drinks and a couple of glasses of wine however we couldn’t fault a thing. Food was amazing. Modern, inventive and very, very tasty. Presentation was first class. Staff were exceptionally friendly. Our room was in The Loft. Small but immaculate with a quirky Alice in Wonderland theme. We hope to return!

Excellent 5 star hotel. Only negative was very limited and very expensive choice for evening meal. Otherwise great accommodation, great service, the staff cannot do enough for you.

Room was clean, bed comfy, nice surprise that the tv was in the bottom of the bed! Shower was a bit dirty round the door with gunk and the door didn’t close properly so ended up mopping a big puddle after use. For the quality and standard of the hotel I thought the shower would have been more upgraded than it was but that was the only thing and just my personal preference. Also our room was situated right above the kitchens we think so at 7am all the air con units fired up right outside our window, which wasn’t ideal. Apart from that it was excellent!!

Everything was absolutely fantastic. Location, the hotel itself, our room and, of course the friendly and helpful staff. Also ate dinner at the restaurant, brilliant as well.
