Refurbishing in process but not impacting guests. Small rooms but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast selection and very good coffee. Staff were friendly and efficient in the lively bar with reasonable prices and a FREE pool table. Restaurant closed on Monday but allowed us to order take out and dine in, much appreciated.

No parking of any size, pub users take the two places. on street available. Room large enough, bathroom OK. shower fine but spray head would not stay in place. Room was clean and tidy but the 'shower towel' was far too small. hot water in the morning, 06-30, was a scarce commodity. I did not take an evening meal but the early breakfast was really superb, good quality and as much as you could eat, very nice. drinks in the bar at standard prices.

I am sorry but this is really only a one star hotel. It state's there is parking but this was full as you could only get 3 cars in. The main bar had locals in and the language was awful so beware if you have children also it smelt of urine. The kitchin wasn't in use so no food. The rooms had a funny smell no extractor fan in the bathroom so that could be the reason. No hand wash supplied in the bathroom or shelf to put toiletries or a bin for sanitary use. The duvet was dirty with stains on it and the bed springs made a great noise when sitting on the bed. You could hear every noise from people talking at 4am and the road out the front was very noisy. Tried putiing photos on but the site won't let me.

Parking a little difficult. Good breakfast. Shower not very warm. Bedside lights not working. Comfortable bed. Corner worktop/ table top a bit sticky. Good value for money. Well positioned in the town. Friendly staff.

Budget hotel and great value for money. Excellent breakfast, cleanliness great. Friendly staff. Room very small but bed comfortable, tv in room and very grateful for ensuite. Some road noise. Always found somewhere to park on the road when car park full. However, it is advertised as a budget hotel so no complaints at all. Stayed for 6 nights with 2 single rooms.

The good news is friendly staff, easy check in, the room was okay and the breakfast very nice. The bad and really bad news is: the first room I was given had a radiator that didn’t work at all and the room was freezing. I mentioned this to staff who initially told me there was nothing that could be done. I persisted and asked to move rooms… I was given another room. In this room the radiator barely worked. Just hot at the bottom. This is not a recent problem as there are other reviews commenting on this. The shower was tiny and took an age to heat up Flushing the toilet sounded like a rocket taking off.I didn't dare flush it in the night. There was mould above the shower and the bathroom looked and felt like it hadn't been cleaned properly in an age. The car park is tiny, perhaps 4 or 5 cars maximum. I was lucky, during my stay it was quiet.

Check in was easy. However, although we had asked for a ground floor or easily accessible room due to being disabled, we were allocated one at the very top of the hotel up several flights of narrow and steep stairs. Also once we got to the top floor we were in the room furthest from the staircase. Although advertised as 'Disability Friendly ' it is far from being so. I would also suspect that the stairs are illegal and should there be a fire it would be extremely likely that somebody could fall on them causing injury to the person as well as blocking the way for those behind. Furthermore several of the fire doors were propped open with fire extinguishers which is not only dangerous but illegal. If they were visited by the Fire Brigade they would be shut down. On the plus side the staff were friendly and the food was good especially the breakfast. However some items on the evening menu were either discontinued or not available. Also the desserts were disappointing insofar as the one both my wife and I selected (second choice for me) was small and similar to what you would get on Masterchef. We will not bother booking at this hotel again.

The room was absolutely NOT as per the picture on the website. There were three singles, as requested but no room to swing a cat! Not a single coat hanger but I suppose that was un-necessary, as there was nowhere to hang anything! Only one towel ring in the bathroom. Tiny shower with luke-warm hot water. Shabby room with shabby furniture with filthy vallances on the beds. Broken lid on kettle. Sash window had no safety stops. Carpet in hallway was stained greasy and dirty. Wifi connection was hit and miss. The only good part about the place was the food was adequate in the Restaurant. The staff were ok. We would never stay there again and it was overpriced at £97 for the room which included breakfast but as only two of us stayed in the end, we were overcharged in that respect. JUST AWFUL!

The reception, Bar and dining areas of the hotel do not reflect the dire accommodation that you face on your arrival on the floors of the bedrooms, chipped paint, over paint on door architraves, brown carpets on stairs and hallways, then the grey bland interior of the bedrooms, no heating on in the room, mildew on the shower cubicle mastic, room 16 which I stayed in had no aerial connection to TV, had to boil kettle on bedside cabinet as no plug near to trolley, Cooling system fan was located outside bedroom window, the drone was horrendous and to top it off the room stank of cigarette smoke? This hotel came up towards the top of the search for hotels in the area, didn’t read the reviews just booked as it had gained 3/5 on trip advisor, I can see why it is only a 2* hotel. The breakfast was tasty and you could help yourself to teas, coffees, cereals, fresh juices which saved a bit of the disappointment on the room.

This is a very run down property. Free parking but for only a handful of cars so we had to park on a residential street away from the hotel. The plumbing is not great, banging and rattling when you flushed the toilet. The floor was very uneven and slipped down in our room. Was kept awake most of the night with a green security light right by the bed. The plates, bowls and cutlery for breakfast were dirty and put me off eating there

Faulty towers without the humour, unhygienic and disgusting. Mould in shower, dirty bedding and curtains, carpet with blood stains . No parking facility. Hole in wall above bed. Could here every noise in the property due to being so out dated.

Basic, but done the job for a night out, and somewhere to rest your weiry head. Couldn't believe there was no soap in the bathroom!!! Place was clean. Didn't attempt to take a shower as the cubicle is sooooooo small, clostraphobia.

I have worked in the hospitality industry for 45 years … never have I experienced anything as bad as this… dirty, smelling of damp in the cubicle called a bathroom, paper thin towels … the place should be closed down as a health risk. Bedside lamp melted, the headboard screw whiff and lumps of plaster out, broken electric sockets, the stairs a danger especially when you try to avoid dog poo, the hand rails are so dirty you don’t want to touch them, fire doors a hazard when trying to carry a bag… oh did I mention grubby ? I should have been paid danger money to stay there! Avoid at all costs!!!

Sadly this is a very tired property. Parking is problematic. The property corridors smell of raw sewerage (first floor). room was tired, bed was horrendous, extremely lumpy and a very small double, not at all comfortable. There was no soap nor shower gel etc. No useful items in room, i.e. hairdryer or iron. There was a kettle and 2 mugs but 'open' tea-bags which is just not hygienic.

The room was a bit tired & as such the windows not great so quite noisy from the road traffic. It was clean & basic - everything needed for a one night work trip. Good breakfast & friendly staff.

We had 3 rooms with our booking and none had woking heating on the coldest week end of the winter. Kettle didn't work so couldn't even heat my hot water bottle!!

Mixed feelings about the Hampton. Its in a good location in the middle of town and we were lucky to be able to check in early. The staff were pleasant, but the condition of the hotel is very jaded, old carpets and quite dark. Access to the room is by a turn-key which was difficult to turn. Small room with small TV. Tiny 'bathroom', old carpet and old secondary glazed windows which didnt keep street noise out but bed was very comfortable. Full English breakfast was hot and tasty but coffee/tea machine wasn't working.
Mixed feelings about the Hampton. Its in a good location in the middle of town and we were lucky to be able to check in early. The staff were pleasant, but the condition of the hotel is very jaded, old carpets and quite dark. Access to the room is by a turn-key which was difficult to turn. Small room with small TV. Tiny 'bathroom', old carpet and old secondary glazed windows which didnt keep street noise out but bed was very comfortable. Full English breakfast was hot and tasty but coffee/tea machine wasn't working.

Stayed here a few times in past everything was good.This time telly didn't work, no spoons to stir tea or coffee. Surprised nobody spotted telly not working, as a bit was hanging down on front.

The good news is friendly staff, easy check in, the room was okay and the breakfast very nice. The bad and really bad news is: the first room I was given had a radiator that didn’t work at all and the room was freezing. I mentioned this to staff who initially told me there was nothing that could be done. I persisted and asked to move rooms… I was given another room. In this room the radiator barely worked. Just hot at the bottom. This is not a recent problem as there are other reviews commenting on this. The shower was tiny and took an age to heat up Flushing the toilet sounded like a rocket taking off.I didn't dare flush it in the night. There was mould above the shower and the bathroom looked and felt like it hadn't been cleaned properly in an age. The car park is tiny, perhaps 4 or 5 cars maximum. The Hampton was cheap and cheerful. The chocolate coloured carpet was stained leading to my room. The decor in the corridor left a lot to be desired. Everytime a corridor door opened it made your room door sound like someone was going to burst in. The bathroom smelt like cigarettes. The food I ordered one evening was very poorly presented, looked like it had been slapped on the plate. The curtains in the room were too heavy for the flimsy hooks holding them on the rail and came off every time you opened/shut them. The door to the corridor looked like it needed a good clean. HOWEVER, I could not fault the staff, they went over and above to assist and were all pleasant.

Refurbishing in process but not impacting guests. Small rooms but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast selection and very good coffee. Staff were friendly and efficient in the lively bar with reasonable prices and a FREE pool table. Restaurant closed on Monday but allowed us to order take out and dine in, much appreciated.

The pleasant young owner is trying hard to make a success of this place. All of the staff I met were friendly and very helpful. A little bit of attention to detail would'nt go amiss. Milk, juice and butter cartons on the breakfast bar are not particularly inviting, but the full cooked breakfasts are good. The closers on the fire doors need adjusting so that they don't slam, which in turn caused my bedroom door to rattle. Overall a decent place to stay but, with just a few small tweaks, could be much better.

1 night stay for the Royal Welsh show. Reasonably priced for the busiest week of the year in the area. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast could have been a bit more of generous portion also a bit disappointed there wasn’t a cot in the room even though we had booked stating it was with a 1 year old child!

Check in was easy. However, although we had asked for a ground floor or easily accessible room due to being disabled, we were allocated one at the very top of the hotel up several flights of narrow and steep stairs. Also once we got to the top floor we were in the room furthest from the staircase. Although advertised as 'Disability Friendly ' it is far from being so. I would also suspect that the stairs are illegal and should there be a fire it would be extremely likely that somebody could fall on them causing injury to the person as well as blocking the way for those behind. Furthermore several of the fire doors were propped open with fire extinguishers which is not only dangerous but illegal. If they were visited by the Fire Brigade they would be shut down. On the plus side the staff were friendly and the food was good especially the breakfast. However some items on the evening menu were either discontinued or not available. Also the desserts were disappointing insofar as the one both my wife and I selected (second choice for me) was small and similar to what you would get on Masterchef. We will not bother booking at this hotel again.

The room was a bit tired & as such the windows not great so quite noisy from the road traffic. It was clean & basic - everything needed for a one night work trip. Good breakfast & friendly staff.

We stayed here because we needed somewhere to crash before the dog show at Bluith wells. We were worrying that our boys would be noisy and disturb other guests. They behaved impeccably. We were put at rest after hearing other dogs with guests. Beds were super comfy and the room basic. It had all we needed. Breakfast was a treat with a full english and plenty of coffee. Ideal location for walking the dogs by the lake. Aldi and Tesco close by. 15 min drive to showground. All in all a very pleasant stay at this friendly hotel

The Hampton provides a clean and comfortable bed for the night. Whilst the en suite is cramped it is acceptable and has a good shower. The room was clean and bright and most probably newly decorated. The amenities were basic but soap and a hairdryer were available on request. I had to go out and buy some shampoo. The breakfast was basic; there was juice and cereal but no fresh or dried fruit available. The English breakfast was cooked well but without the option of tomatoes or mushrooms. The decor of the dining area and the crockery were not to my liking.Unfortunately people congregated underneath my window beyond midnight so it was rather noisy too. I chose the cheaper option and it was fine but if I go to Llandrindod again I will choose the more expensive hotel down the road.

I am sorry but this is really only a one star hotel. It state's there is parking but this was full as you could only get 3 cars in. The main bar had locals in and the language was awful so beware if you have children also it smelt of urine. The kitchin wasn't in use so no food. The rooms had a funny smell no extractor fan in the bathroom so that could be the reason. No hand wash supplied in the bathroom or shelf to put toiletries or a bin for sanitary use. The duvet was dirty with stains on it and the bed springs made a great noise when sitting on the bed. You could hear every noise from people talking at 4am and the road out the front was very noisy. Tried putiing photos on but the site won't let me.

It was ok for an overnight stay, I wouldn't stay any longer. It took a good 5 minutes for the shower to warm up. Room was clean but furniture, carpet, bedding etc needs to be updated. We arrived at 8pm and there was no dining area serving food.

The hotel is in need of updating. You can see signs that they are working on this to improve the overall standard of the hotel. In current financial climate, need visitors to make these improvements. A great family run hotel. Friendly and helpful staff make up for the tired looking bedrooms. Meal in restaurant and breakfast were very good. Great overnight stay. Definitely value for money

It was cheap, but my room had a curtain falling off and the bathroom door handle coming off. Very noisy with people coming in and out all through the night. Never again, but Cheap.. A TENT WOULD BE A BETTER OPTION

We decided not to stay (first time ever for us) as it was so unlike its description on hotels.com and its web site and Facebook pages. It is really rooms in a poor condition over a pub, with very little to commend it vastly overpriced for what was on offer. Location was good. Staff were kind and responsive to requests however, the room furnitures need upgrading. Though they've repainted the room furniture and fittings needs imptovement. Pillows doesn't give adequate neck support as they were all so flat- 2 pillows piled together wont suffice. Water stopped whilst im in the middle of a shower!!! Took 10-15 mins before it resumed but the flow was still very slow.
