It’s a really nice place. It has a nice bar, dining area and a large garden. It’s right next to a very busy road which is fairly noisy. It didn’t bother us though, we had a good nights sleep there. So would definitely recommend

The hotel is located just outside the Chatsworth Estate, with stunning scenery. Hotel had plenty of "free to park" spaces. Good/easy check in, met with a smile by Laura, she showed us to our room (01) & explained everything concerning the hotel. Room was clean, tidy & in good order, with a nice king size bed. We prebooked breakfast & also had dinners in the restaurant. Good menue choices for both. Spending time in a service industry, I noticed front of house operated smoothly even coping well with the odd hiccup. The staff appeared to be working very hard. The only slight comment (& not under the hotel's control) was that it is located on a busy road with traffic going past 24/7, which we are not used to, coming from a quiet village.

All staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and spacious. Bed was large, lovely clean, crisp bedding, thick duvet, fluffy pillows. Bathroom was large and clean, good shower over bath. Large carpark. Very convenient location, especially for Chatsworth House.

An overnight stop on the way to York from Devon. Nice room with very comfortable bed. Great pub garden which looked very well equipped for children. Across the road from Chatsworth grounds, where we had a lovely walk. Baslow is very picturesque and the Peak District is beautiful. Good hearty food and great breakfast. Lovely friendly staff. Really good value for money. Highly recommend this traditional pub which also serves excellent Marston’s beer.

We had a lovely stay over. The room was so big clean and comfortable. We ate downstairs and the food was lovely as was the breakfast. Staff were so welcoming and friendly we really enjoyed our visit.

We were very happy with our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable and the price point was great. The heating also worked well. Only a few minutes from Chatsworth and it was great value for money. Would be very happy to stay there again.

The location is wonderful, close to Chatsworth and some beautiful walking country, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly, accommodating and flexible when we asked for things. The perfect place to stay.

I had a really enjoyable stay. I’m a lone traveller and this location was ideal. The pub staff were very friendly, food was good and the rooms clean and comfortable. Can’t fault it.

The Wheatsheaf was a little dated but it was clean and comfortable which are the important points. The sound proofing between the rooms and from the bar,/ restaurant downstairs was not good The managment staff were excellent, especially Arnaud, the assistant manager

The staff were very friendly. The lady who checked us in (i think she was the manager) was extremely helpful and lovely. She made us feel very welcome. I would stay here again.

Maz and crew were great hosts for the 2 nights we stayed! The rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms had a hairdryer, shampoo and body wash and an iron was available. Close proximity to the bus station and footpath to Chattsworth House. It’s about a 25 minute walk from the front door of the hotel to Chattsworth House. Several dining options within a short walk. Wouldn’t recommend getting off at the Grindleford train stop for this hotel, as taxis were nonexistent. Chesterfield is a better option as there is a bus that runs from the train station to right by the hotel. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area and will definitely stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wheatsheaf where the food and service were of the highest quality. On Friday we were unable to leave the hotel because of the floods but our hosts went out of their way to ensure our comfort and their generosity knew no bounds as they welcomed into the hotel villagers forced to leave their flooded homes. We will undoubtedly make a return visit, hopefully in better weather.

Conveniently located for Chatsworth House/ Peak District walks and villages. Very clean and comfortable room. Coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board available. Large car park. Excellent for the price. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

Maz and crew were great hosts for the 2 nights we stayed! The rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms had a hairdryer, shampoo and body wash and an iron was available. Close proximity to the bus station and footpath to Chattsworth House. It’s about a 25 minute walk from the front door of the hotel to Chattsworth House. Several dining options within a short walk. Wouldn’t recommend getting off at the Grindleford train stop for this hotel, as taxis were nonexistent. Chesterfield is a better option as there is a bus that runs from the train station to right by the hotel. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area and will definitely stay again!

The hotel is located just outside the Chatsworth Estate, with stunning scenery. Hotel had plenty of "free to park" spaces. Good/easy check in, met with a smile by Laura, she showed us to our room (01) & explained everything concerning the hotel. Room was clean, tidy & in good order, with a nice king size bed. We prebooked breakfast & also had dinners in the restaurant. Good menue choices for both. Spending time in a service industry, I noticed front of house operated smoothly even coping well with the odd hiccup. The staff appeared to be working very hard. The only slight comment (& not under the hotel's control) was that it is located on a busy road with traffic going past 24/7, which we are not used to, coming from a quiet village.

Beautiful historic setting, great food, indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of parking. It's at the village center on the main road, so you can hear a bit of traffic if the windows are open

We loved the Peaks District and the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Baslow. The room was comfortable, breakfast was great, parking available. Beautiful area to explore, whether driving, but especially walking. Would stay again.

All staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and spacious. Bed was large, lovely clean, crisp bedding, thick duvet, fluffy pillows. Bathroom was large and clean, good shower over bath. Large carpark. Very convenient location, especially for Chatsworth House.

Room was fine. Food wasn't to my taste. Staff was very accommodating when we had an issue with our first room due to construction outside and graciously moved us to a new room.

Fabulous break in a charming pub with rooms. The staff did everything to make our stay special. Laura was amazing at breakfast and the food was fantastic. We will definately be back.

An overnight stop on the way to York from Devon. Nice room with very comfortable bed. Great pub garden which looked very well equipped for children. Across the road from Chatsworth grounds, where we had a lovely walk. Baslow is very picturesque and the Peak District is beautiful. Good hearty food and great breakfast. Lovely friendly staff. Really good value for money. Highly recommend this traditional pub which also serves excellent Marston’s beer.

Hotel / Pub was great location, nice beer garden and decent prices, room was fine and clean, Manager / Owner was very to the point and showed us everything, after hours access through the car park, couple of gripes, a third of the car park is used for free motor home parking and we returned to our vehicle surrounded by motor or homes which were parked tight up, and others manoeuvring extremely close as the area is tight, second gripe, breakfast, food looked great but never got to try it, not enough staff, one guy running around serving, cleaning up and taking orders, waited for 45 mins, having even asked at the bar to take out order I was told he would come but he never came back, so left and went elsewhere for breakfast

Clean room , parking easy & safe , good choice of breakfast . The building is a bit run down in places, but it is an old building. Baslow is a lovely village, easy reach to Chatsworth house .
