Lovely place with great location right on the river and easy short walk in to town . Would definetrly return and recommend. If i was being picky the room and bathroom were quite tight but that didnt really bother us personsally. Easy free parking always a good thing so no.complaints from us.

We attended a seminar regarding cruise holidays and partnerships at this location. Having decided on an overnight stay we were pleasantly surprised that the midweek prices were so reasonable. Although there are some dress codes for the members areas for dining, the alternative orangery restaurant overlooking the Thames was perfectly adequate - smart casual attire collared shirt/polo shirt and one colour smart denims was sufficient. Staff very friendly and attentive, Recommend the Afternoon Tea with Bubbly well priced. Evening meal in same location excellent value on the set dinner menu two courses for £52 Food selection and the dishes were superb. Rooms at the Hotel were older but spotless and robes included along with an excellent selection of choices for breakfast in the price, Leisure facilities and staff were also very good and overall out of season this is a well priced hotel for an upmarket midweek stay we couldn.t find fault - apart from the rain meaning no use of the croquet lawns! Thames side walks on a better day would be lovely.

This is a lovely place to stay and the staff were very friendly and efficient.The room was really lovely and had doors opening out onto a Juliet Balcony overlooking the Thames. The bed was very comfortable and the room had excellent facilities and was clean and recently refurbished. The breakfast was plentiful with a large choice and was included in the room price. The indoor swimming pool and sauna in the grounds was an added bonus. As was the opportunity to walk into Henley. We will definitely return and I can highly recommend staying here as it is a opportunity to stay in a very unique hotel.

Hotel was nice and well- positioned. Large car park- which was a plus in Henley. Breakfast was lovely and cooked to order. Disappointed that leisure centre was out of action during our stay- as this was one of the reasons for selecting this hotel. Room opened out onto ventilation shaft which was a little noisy at times.

Very posh club but with warm and welcoming staff. The breakfast was excellent. Fabulous access to a beautiful gym. It was a great stay.

Convenient for Henley Literary Festival event at the town hall. Staff was very helpful with a long list of food allergies. They hadn’t initially gotten the message we‘d left with Expedia requesting two twin beds but when we clarified this on booking in they quickly remedied this for us. The only issue we had was that the bath was very creaky and felt a bit unstable which we reported on our feedback sheet. They were having work done on their main toilets when we visited so had porta loos in service but these were serviceable. Other than that a great visit. Our breakfast was beautifully served and delicious. Parking was ample and they let us leave our car with them for a while after checkout so we could do some additional book shopping before our departure home which was kind. The back exit cuts through to town which is handy and the room we had looked out on a beautiful river view.

Nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff but the room was quite small and the TV was the smallest I have seen anywhere. Disappointing that the pool and restaurant close early on bank holidays but breakfast was excellent. Plenty of parking and a good location in Henley

We had a wonderful four night stay at Phyllis Court Club, while attending the Henley Literary Festival. The location is beautiful, beside the Thames. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food in the restaurant is excellent. It is a short walk into town which has a good choice of places to eat and shop. Overall we would thoroughly recommend Phyllis Court to anyone visiting the area.

Phyllis Court has a spectacular location alongside the Thames. The squabbling geese and rowing coaches loudspeakers are clearly audible at night. The sprawling property offers every conceivable outlet for the energetic, the literary, the hungry and the thirsty. The staff are the perfect combination of warm and professional. My only gripes would be firstly that it is a little tired and grubby around the edges. The corners of the bathroom featured peeling mouldy silicone, little piles of dirt and hair where the mop clearly did not easily reach and the toilet had clear splatters of previous usage. Secondly, the environmental credentials are disappointing. Virtually every room had the heating at full with a window gaping open, the tap in our room was hard to stop dripping and the loos downstairs had a number of gushing toilets that clearly had not been maintained. The heating and water bills here must be astronomical an they clearly don't need to be. Overall, it is a lovely property with great staff and a few, easily fixable frustrations.

I had a very bad experience. Arrived in my room to find a bathroom bin full of the previous residents rubbish and an un-flushed toilet with a number 2 which had clearly been festering for some time at the bottom of the toilet bowl. Reported to reception and this was cleaned. I woke up the next morning to find little red/brown bugs on the bed/duvet/pillow. I accidentally crushed one which was filled with blood, my blood! It was bed bugs! I was bitten all over. The bites were itchy and very sore, some still are now. Nearly a week on and I’m still in the process of trying to decontaminate my suitcase, belongings and car to ensure I don’t end up infesting my own home. They did not charge me for the room in the end, but there has been a cost to me physically from the bites, the seemingly endless effort of dealing with the aftermath, including the destruction of clothes from boil washing.

We were lucky and had a bedroom with a great view. The bed was clean comfortable and big. However thats where the positives of the bedroom end. The room, like allot of what i saw of the upstairs of the main building was in dire need of renovation or some serious maintenance and tender loving care. The carpet looked like it had been there for a decade or so, the trim next to the shower tray had fallen away leaving a dark hole where no one was even bothering to clean, full of hairs from all body parts. This doesn't sound like much but i wouldn't accept this in my home so why would i accept it for £270 for one night. In the morning 7am we were woken by the sound of the morning preparations, opening/closing the sun shades (an excruciating grind that feels like it goes on for ever), leaf blowing and jet washing. This is not what we were after seeing as this was a 1 night stay away from our two young kids. Why couldn't this be done later?! but also not at breakfast. The jet washing and leaf blowing continued just outside the window as we had breakfast in the very tired orangery. Bottom line is the location was great, our bedrooms view was beautiful, the bed was big clean and comfortable. But the place need renovation and i would not recommend a stay here to anyone. Also the staff were nice.

Everything about our trip was lovely. Except the room we were given. Our room 17 located at the back of the building above the kitchen. The noise of the air con units from the kitchen started work about 4am. There was no air con in the room and it was extremely warm in there. We couldn’t open the windows because of the noise. Phylis Court is a lovely place to stay if you don’t have this type of room. The service is above and beyond the location is delightful and so near the town

When booking my sister in law asked specifically that our three rooms should have river views. On arrival we found my husband and I had been given the disabled room, with no view at all. Somewhat disappointing as this was our annual family reunion and we had booked at least five months in advance. Also the basin in the bathroom was very small and low and there was no shelving to put wash bags anywhere.
When booking my sister in law asked specifically that our three rooms should have river views. On arrival we found my husband and I had been given the disabled room, with no view at all. Somewhat disappointing as this was our annual family reunion and we had booked at least five months in advance. Also the basin in the bathroom was very small and low and there was no shelving to put wash bags anywhere.

Great hotel in a perfect location overlooking the river. I had a comfortable stay - the room and especially the bathroom were very small (I struggled to close the bathroom door without squeezing behind it) The breakfast was very nice and made to order with quality ingredients. Check in was good but the reception staff should inform guests that the key ring for the hotel room also acts as a fob for the hotel gates. I went walking and couldn’t access the hotel from the pedestrian gates from the street as wasn’t told about the key ring. Good stay overall and would visit again.

The bed was very comfortable and the room had excellent facilities and was clean and recently refurbished. The breakfast was plentiful with a large choice and was included in the room price. The indoor swimming pool and sauna in the grounds was an added bonus. As was the opportunity to walk into Henley. We will definitely return and I can highly recommend staying here as it is a opportunity to stay in a very unique hotel.

Hotel was nice and well- positioned. Large car park- which was a plus in Henley. Breakfast was lovely and cooked to order. Disappointed that leisure centre was out of action during our stay- as this was one of the reasons for selecting this hotel. Room opened out onto ventilation shaft which was a little noisy at times.

We booked a Deluxe Double room with a King Size Bed and were very pleased with the spacious room. Our room was #3 and it was exactly as shown in the photos. The front desk staff were excellent. We chose to walk into town for dinner, as the dress code requirements are very strict and because we booked last minute were not aware of the dress code, perhaps something that should be mentioned on the website. Regardless it did not take away from our stay and would highly recommend this hotel for the history of the hotel and the beautiful outdoor grounds.

We were very pleasantly surprised when our room not only had a spacious balcony with a table and chairs, but also a lovely view of the Thames and the hotel grounds. The room price -- which was reasonable for such a nice room in a beautiful small town next to Oxford and near London -- included a comfortable king-size bed, a full breakfast that we ordered from a menu - and even included Scottish salmon - as well as the parking. Check-in and check-out were both friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful four night stay at Phyllis Court Club, while attending the Henley Literary Festival. The location is beautiful, beside the Thames. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food in the restaurant is excellent. It is a short walk into town which has a good choice of places to eat and shop. Overall we would thoroughly recommend Phyllis Court to anyone visiting the area.

Convenient for Henley Literary Festival event at the town hall. Staff was very helpful with a long list of food allergies. They hadn’t initially gotten the message we‘d left with Expedia requesting two twin beds but when we clarified this on booking in they quickly remedied this for us. The only issue we had was that the bath was very creaky and felt a bit unstable which we reported on our feedback sheet. They were having work done on their main toilets when we visited so had porta loos in service but these were serviceable. Other than that a great visit. Our breakfast was beautifully served and delicious. Parking was ample and they let us leave our car with them for a while after checkout so we could do some additional book shopping before our departure home which was kind. The back exit cuts through to town which is handy and the room we had looked out on a beautiful river view.

Lovely place with great location right on the river and easy short walk in to town . Would definetrly return and recommend. If i was being picky the room and bathroom were quite tight but that didnt really bother us personsally. Easy free parking always a good thing so no.complaints from us.

Phyllis Court has a spectacular location alongside the Thames. The squabbling geese and rowing coaches loudspeakers are clearly audible at night. The sprawling property offers every conceivable outlet for the energetic, the literary, the hungry and the thirsty. The staff are the perfect combination of warm and professional. My only gripes would be firstly that it is a little tired and grubby around the edges. The corners of the bathroom featured peeling mouldy silicone, little piles of dirt and hair where the mop clearly did not easily reach and the toilet had clear splatters of previous usage. Secondly, the environmental credentials are disappointing. Virtually every room had the heating at full with a window gaping open, the tap in our room was hard to stop dripping and the loos downstairs had a number of gushing toilets that clearly had not been maintained. The heating and water bills here must be astronomical an they clearly don't need to be. Overall, it is a lovely property with great staff and a few, easily fixable frustrations.

The question to ask is would you go back and our answer would be a definite yes . A lovely old style ambience in a stunning location over looking the Thames . All the food was excellent and memorable starting with roast beef sandwich at lunch . Then smoked pigeon followed by sea bream for dinner . The full breakfast was perfection .

We attended a seminar regarding cruise holidays and partnerships at this location. Having decided on an overnight stay we were pleasantly surprised that the midweek prices were so reasonable. Although there are some dress codes for the members areas for dining, the alternative orangery restaurant overlooking the Thames was perfectly adequate - smart casual attire collared shirt/polo shirt and one colour smart denims was sufficient. Staff very friendly and attentive, Recommend the Afternoon Tea with Bubbly well priced. Evening meal in same location excellent value on the set dinner menu two courses for £52 Food selection and the dishes were superb. Rooms at the Hotel were older but spotless and robes included along with an excellent selection of choices for breakfast in the price, Leisure facilities and staff were also very good and overall out of season this is a well priced hotel for an upmarket midweek stay we couldn.t find fault - apart from the rain meaning no use of the croquet lawns! Thames side walks on a better day would be lovely.

Regardless it did not take away from our stay and would highly recommend this hotel for the history of the hotel and the beautiful outdoor grounds.

Location excellent ,staff are so friendly and courteous breakfast and breakfast room felt very luxurious linen table clothes and napkins and breakfast cooked to order with views of the garden and river had a lovely time definitely return.

We were very pleasantly surprised when our room not only had a spacious balcony with a table and chairs, but also a lovely view of the Thames and the hotel grounds. The room price -- which was reasonable for such a nice room in a beautiful small town next to Oxford and near London -- included a comfortable king-size bed, a full breakfast that we ordered from a menu - and even included Scottish salmon - as well as the parking. Check-in and check-out were both friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

Nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff but the room was quite small and the TV was the smallest I have seen anywhere. Disappointing that the pool and restaurant close early on bank holidays but breakfast was excellent. Plenty of parking and a good location in Henley

I stayed in room 2 at the Phyllis Court Club the night before the start of Henley Royal Regatta. Room 2 overlooks the finish line of the regatta course. Luckily, it had cooled down from earlier in the week, as the rooms themselves are not air conditioned. I had a great full English breakfast in the Orangerie (a greenhouse dining room overlooking the river) the next morning. The bath is very well fitted, and the mattress is quite comfortable. The Phyllis Court Club is within walking distance of the town - there is a shortcut to town the back gate, but that is not staffed in the evening. Over a great experience.

Das Hotel hat keine Klimaanlage, Unser Zimmer im 1. Stock, ein Backofen. 31 Grad im Badezimmer morgens um 08:00. Unbedingt meiden im Sommer. Schöne Anlage, gutes Essen, tolle Lage. Das Personal ist teils sehr jung, wirkt ungeschult ist unaufmerksam, vergesslich, nicht zuvorkommend. Schade für diese schöne Hotel.
