Great size for the 5 of us, nice and clean and handy stroll into town. The internal staircase is realy steep ( fine if you are fit and able) which we all were. Really awesome tudor style place great for the $$$

All was very good apart from no elevator. I'm 77 years old with a bad knee therefore I was uncomfortable climbing 3 flights of stairs. I could have asked for assistance but I didn't. Apart from that it was very good.

Well equipped room but we wouldn't have wanted to use the loft area as the stairs were too quirky.

The property is very dated. The shower had small dots of visible mold. Parking was difficult if you want to park late afternoon or evening, there is a boat and trailer that seem permanently parked and a couple staying were using two car parks so limited spaces available.

Staff were fantastic but thats where anything good i have to say ends. Very dated property and im sure the stairs in the unit are unsafe. Not only are they narrow and oddly shaped they are very unstable feeling. Beds were uncomfortable, shower and kitchen had the basics however was damaged and dated, mold on the shower curtain and a poorly repaired light. Also no heating on fan in there. Not to mention the poor shower pressure. The owner seemed to have taken up quite a few parks in the limited car park.The list of cons definitely out weigh the pros. For the price point its very disappointing.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Sometimes not quite enough parking (boats, trailers, two motorcycles taking up whole parking spaces)

The stairs in the unit were too steep for older people. Toilet brush was disgusting had not been cleaned for a long time.

Staff super helpful and very pleasant on arrival and when we were leaving. Only slight hiccup was we were a large family and the second room was upstairs. The stairs itself was a scary flight of stairs (very vertical and as each step was different made it easy for the children to fall). But no one did, and overall it was easy access to town, happy place to stay, warm…. Would go back again …. Just maybe not that room with young children

But it was arranged on the second floor. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, it's a staircase, so carrying luggage can be tiring The boss will take you to the room you are staying in after checking in. We think it will be noisy on the street and we want to change to another room. The boss said you should close the door and take a look. After closing it, it's really nice and quiet enough The bed provided an electric blanket, and when I lifted the blanket and found hair on the sheets, I let it go. Several pieces were found on the blanket one after another, and the person suddenly felt unwell. The blanket was not very dry either. There is an electric blanket under the sheets, but only half of it is warm. Thanks to this electric blanket, I didn't cover myself all night and always felt itchy on my body. The kitchen is pretty good, with an electric stove The toilet separates dry and wet, and the shower water is large and hot enough The hotel is quite central, it only takes 10 minutes by car to the university and church

Thank you for a warm welcome and the lovely 6 days we had with you. Special mention to the fantastic cleaning team. Beautiful clean tidy units. Nothing was a problem. We will be travelling south a few more times with our girl being at uni. So see you again.

This motel has seen better days and is sorely in need of maintenance. Many fittings are worn and the property generally looks tired. There is black mould in the bathroom. I was told had scored an upgrade but it just meant I had 2 flights of stairs to get to room and another to get to the bedroom.

Our family room was ideal with two single beds on the mezzanine level giving space and privacy. The property was in process of renovating and upgrading rooms one by one but ours was more than adequate and the kitchen facility and breakfast bar meant we didn’t have to balance plates on our laps!. The location was ideal with our granddaughter just a 5 minute walk away, and we explored the city on foot. Driving further afield was easy too. The staff were very welcoming and everything was very clean.

Huge apartment, tons of space etc.

Our stay at the Alcala Motel was comfortable. The room was well maintained and clean. There was no air-conditioning, but there was lots of natural lighting and with open windows, the temperature is comfortable. The kitchen has a microwave and fridge and comfortable seating for more than one guest. The shower was interesting, in that the shower head was quite low and taller than average individuals would have to squat to take a shower. Other than that, the management was very responsive and friendly. Overall, value for money.

Bath Tub with high side, no handle to grab hold of to get in or out, felt very unsafe.

Fantastic service. Mattress on bed was too firm for our liking but that was the only niggle I had.

Good location and reasonably priced. Shower head was too low - at chest height for averaged height woman and was over a bath so difficult to climb into for older or non mobile people. The units upstairs were not easily accesible for older or less mobile people - would have liked option of ground floor. Cord for electric blanket on window side of double bed didn’t reach power point and one on other side of the bed was split - so no electric blanket to use. The host was nice - took time to show us around the room. The heater was very efficient. Nice touch to have the paper delivered each day.

The motel room was sizable. It was a little dated, but the facilities were very good. The studio in is suitable for a couple or smaller family, with its separate double bedroom, and full kitchen. It was economically priced and provided excellent value for money.

Great location close to lots of eating places. Coukd easiky walk to centre of city. Large unit with comfortable bed and good cooking vacilities. Would definitely use again.

Very enjoyable, friendly and professional

Enjoyed the friendly helpful attitude of the young lady who took our booking. We appreciated being able to leave our car in the motel carpark for the day even though we had checked out. It made things so much easier for us. We also enjoyed the spaciousness of our unit and the closeness to everything we needed outside of the motel. Would recommend Alcala to anyone ...we hope to come back again.

Friendly and helpful customer service

What I liked was the helpfulness of the staff. I unpacked in the motel unit and found the tv wasn't going. Went to the office and the Owner, I think it was, came straight over and corrected it. I was only there one night, I had no compaints.

Great customer service as always. On my late cold winter evening arrival the heater was on and milk in the fridge. This was very nice and considerate. Thank you.

Although I arrived at the motel earlier than the check in time, they had a room available for me., even after the staff were all busy that morning after a huge number of guests were checking out.. On one occasion I couldn't open my room door but one of the staff immediately came to my rescue. Staff are fantastic.

I thought the whole stay was great our host's were helpful and professional. It was warm and very handy to the university and other amenities.

I was suitably impressed with the size of the room: it was meant to be for a family, with two bunks up a flight of stairs. It was still a little bit out of town: took a while to walk to the town centre.
