The stay was great, but the water in the pool and hot tub had too much chlorine. My daughter's eyes were burning when she entered the pool because of how much chlorine was in the water. My swim suit also changed color from the amount of chlorine in the hot tub

our room key the receptionist gave us for our room on the 5th floor did not work so we had to go all the way back and ask for a new one and she moved us to another room on the opposite side of the building. on the second day, our key didnt work again and we had to go back and ask for a replacement again. additionally, we only booked this hotel for the hot tub which was listed as an amenity on this website. we went down to the pool in the freezing cold and the hot tub was completely cold. there was a sign that said heating works but no bubbles so we tried turning on the dial and waited 15 minutes and it didnt work. so again we had to go to the reception desk and ask and they said the hot tub was broken. this was not disclosed before booking nor was there any signage indicating that at the pool. our sink also broke (not our fault) so someone had to come in and fix it. due to these issues, i’m requesting a partial refund.

Upon check in, I was informed that the elevators weren't working. They gave me a room on the 5th floor. Requested for a lower floor, my room was on the 4th Fl. Wasn't too bad, but it was still inconvenient with having 2 small kids to drag up the stairs to the 4th fl.

The service was good fast and simple. didn’t have or need much interactions. while passing by the rooms blinds where open and most the rooms where empty. when checked in was told to wait for a clean room. the room smelled like it was moist and had a weird smell. the hot tub was broken. should be listed on the page. the pool entrance has a room card needed to enter but also had a latch that needs to be unlocked as well. the trash bins were small and had no lid so there were always flies around the first floor. trash bins needs lids to keep flys away.

Not worth to pay 400 plus dollars for this. Dirty carpet, room smells, old ceiling with patches, only 2 towels provided, no towel for the shower floor, very small space . Ice machine is so dirty and rusty.

The hotel left a very good impression: a clean and comfortable room, attentive staff, and tasty breakfasts. Daily room cleaning kept everything fresh and tidy. The quiet, cozy atmosphere and well-maintained common areas made the stay pleasant. I would be happy to return again.

Hotel room doors open to the outside. Elevator, hallways completely available to anyone staying with the hotel or not. Carpet was filthy. Outdoor hallway floors felt dirty & sticky. Thankfully, only had to stay 1 night.

Toilet was leaking, shower floor was very dirty, bathroom floor very dirty at the corners, AC unit had tape where it’s broken and carpets are extremely dirty. Had to wear candles the entire time because didn’t want to be barefooted. TV is very old and the entire property seems very worn down. Won’t be staying here again.

The building is fairly old, though some upgrades have been made to give it a slightly modern touch. The toilets are pretty old, so they're low and you might have to play with the handles to get them to flush. The beds are full size, which are on the smaller side, and the rooms are a bit tight, especially for a family of four. That said, the location is decent and convenient for visiting the area—right next to the freeway, close to food, and near the wharf and Cannery Row. These small and affordable rooms work well if you're just there to sleep with a family of four.

When we arrrived for check in with our family, there was only 2 staff members and there was a huge line. Multiple people were coming back to the front because something was wrong (card wasn’t working, something broken etc) We were travelling with our 6 and 4 year old. They gave us a key and when we went all the way up to our room there was a ladder, drill, and maintenance tools. So we went back and it took them 30 min to get us another room at 930 at night. Rooms were not clean. Carpet was wet. Horrible stay

The Front Desk check-in clerk stated, We need to hold a $75.00 deposit for anything damaged or stolen." Poor choice of words to use towards a guest. For the record, I could afford anything in that room, and certainly not the type to take shabby accessories.! Seems like management should use this guest experience as a Learning Lesson of What Not To Say when asking for a deposit.

Given an occupied room and walked into a family sleeping around 1am in the morning. Alot of confusion by both parties and could have led to a dangerous situation with a family sleeping having people walk in on them. Not offered anything or compensated for this concerning/dangerous situation. Only an apology for the mizlx up after walking fully into a room in the middle of night with a family sleeping that nearly led to a hostile situation by the father in there and understandbly so with unknown people walking into your room.

The room was not equipped properly. There were not enough towels, there was no phone to call the front desk, the tv was not working and the carpet looked absolutely disgusting. The common areas, such as the dining room, were not taken care of properly. The trash cans were leaking onto the floor, and no member of staff took any action about it. A lack of interest, initiative, or solutions from the staff was a major issue. When these complaints were presented, they did nothing about them and provided no explanation or adequate solution. When approached, the staff made false promises by saying "we'll be up to fix the issue" and then never showed up. We did not change hotel as we arrived late in the evening and were very tired and wanted to only rest to be able to leave early in the morning the next day to continue our trip.

Good location 8 minutes from Fishermans wharf, friendly staff, good choices for breakfast their waffle maker broken tho, safe area next to park and in n out. Clean rooms ac and heater working good. Would stay here again.

Good location 8 minutes from Fishermans wharf, friendly staff, good choices for breakfast their waffle maker broken tho, safe area next to park and in n out. Clean rooms ac and heater working good. Would stay here again.

This is the second time I have stayed at this Holiday Inn Express. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good. I like the location close to the beach and Laguna Grande Regional Park. It’s perfect for a morning stroll.

our experience was ok. The front desk staff was helpful and the staff in the kitchen was helpfull too. Over all building condition was bad, the walkways were not clean. The room condition was very good. We were there was 3 nights. The breakfast choices were not good. Pancake machine was down for all three days. There was hardly any choice on hot breakfast for people who cannot eat meat.

The Holiday Inn Express at Monterey Bay was a pleasant stay. I arrived with my three daughters to stay for the weekend and enjoy the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The hotel staff upon arrival were courteous and knowledgable. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable which gave us all a good nights sleep. The buffet breakfast the next morning was hot and delicious and prepared us for the day. I request that the hotel clean and make repairs to the elevator, as it felt dirty and out dated and sounded as if it is in need of restoration. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and recommend staying here to anyone else looking for a good nights sleep.

Property in dire need of repairs , bathroom door unable to close , bath tub water stopper not installed and maintenance said they need to order new sets . Maintenance seemed non existent. Seemed like a Motel 6 converted to Holiday -Inn Express to get $200+ rates . I would not recommend it for families

It an older hotel, small, and noises can be heard when people are walking up and down the stairs, people shouting can be heard at night from the hotel room. Water pressure was very weak in our hotel room. Wifi worked good. Overall it was an okay stay.

Our stay started off on a bad note. Check in was 3pm, I arrived at 3pm. No rooms available. There were two other groups also waiting for a room. Had to wait an hour for our room. While we were waiting a man came up to the desk to complain about a broken shower. Sorry, we don't have another room to give you. Can I speak to a manager? No, no one available. How about tomorrow? No one is coming in. Solution? Send us an email. NOT a way to run a hotel. (The young lady at the front desk was professional and courteous, not her fault) My room was clean except for the filthy bathroom door. Two lights didn't work in the room. The elevator was dirty and smelled like urine. Not worth the money spent.

The rooms were dirty (bathtub, carpet, soap and lotion dispenser) but some of the amenities were clean (sheets, new wall paper, breakfast room). The elevator was falling apart (floor paneling and buttons that didn't light up). The breakfast room was clean and the food was decent. The coffee machine was okay, but no option for real milk/milk alternatives to go in the coffee, just shelf-stable creamers. My daughter tried to buy a box of bandaids in the lobby and luckily looked in the box before we bought it, because it was empty.
