The ice machine did not work, the air conditioning controls registered error the whole time, and ledges in the bathrooms had clearly not beeen wiped in a long time. However, the room had a fridge, microwave, a comfortable bed, and extra coffees were always available in the main office at any time. Overall, the room was better than average. The location was great - near everything.

They had an ice machine and a filtered water machine and drink vending machine. Nice flower arrangements around rhe grounds. Fast friendly check in. Hard to find anything to complain about.

Honestly the room was pretty okay for the price. This was our first time staying in a “motel” as our last minute trip definitely narrowed our options. One thing I will definitely dock points on is that there were several hairs in the sheets that were not ours. There was also a room downstairs that was being used as a party hub so that was a bit annoying. The parking was also very full and we needed to park on the street a bit further away than we were comfortable. Some positives include the air conditioner/heater working very well. Another positive would be the great water pressure that we received in the room. The mangers were also kind when checking out/in.

This motel was a nice place to stay. It was in a great location and close to food and coffee. We had a double queen bed room. One of the beds wasn’t so great but for the price of the room we were very happy with it. Our room came with a fridge, which was helpful. We felt our stay was enjoyable. There was a laundry facility, ice machine, and a vending machine. We will definitely stay here again.

The room had black mold in the bathroom and all the windows. The blackout shades are wooden shutters that are far from blackout. I told the front desk about the mold all he said was thanks. Then when I contacted hotels.com they contacted the hotel and they said it was black paint not mold. It is very clearly mold. We all felt sick in the morning like bad allergies and chest pain and headaches.

Hairs in the bed, holes in the bedsheets and the floor was dirty. I complained to the manager, who moved us to another room. Again, hairs and holes in the bedsheets, but the floor was cleaner. I'd rather pay a little more and stay else where.

Rooms are in desperate need of detail cleaning. Our room window didn’t have a screen. No locks on the RR window. Dust on the baseboards, around sink area. Appears to be black mold around the tub. Window has a protective sunscreen on it but it was all ripped. Room smelled musty. I have stayed here once before in May and thought give it one more chance. Not sure I will again. Young man at check in was AMAZING!

The bed in room 116 was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. The bed was painfully stiff and felt as if I was sleeping on a box spring, not a mattress. The room was smaller than I expected, but was acceptable overall. There was rust in the shower, but beyond that the room was clean and well kept.

Most of the details for the room, we’re good. As a typical hotel room, the towels were rough and the pillows, old. The only aspect I found not good was the quality of the mattress. You could tell that they were very cheap mattresses and have been used a lot.

Normally stay at the Embassy suites so when I booked this I should’ve lowered my expectations for cleanliness. For the price I guess I got what I deserved. People above our room loved letting their kids run back and forth. Can hear a mouse fart in the next room because the walls are so thin.

The staff was terrible to deal with at check in. Had pre paid reservations and was told they couldn't find it. So I paid for a room and then found out. That the hotel did have my reservations and charge for that. So I was charge twice for the same stay.

Had an amazing stay. Staff was friendly and manger was very nice and helpful since the beginning. The room was exactly what I was looking for within my budget. Area was in a good location.

I was overcharged $125 over the hotels.com reservation price. I had to call back to get a refund, which hasn't arrived yet. On top of that the lobby personnel was patronizing, as if I was asking for a favor to stay in the hotel. I won't stay here again, and will share my negative experience on travel sites.

I called ahead the night prior regarding an early check in and was told they could likely do this. I then called in a second time while driving from the Bay Area and was told the same. Upon arriving I was then told there was a planned power outage that night from 8pm with no timeline for it to be turned back on. This should have been told to me by the staff prior so I could cancel and make other arrangements. Now I have to go through the third-party insurance to see if I can receive a refund. By the way, the property manager did say Expedia would honor this.

I wanted to check in early and was told I needed to pay an additional fee. There were no other guests on site and all of the rooms had not been used the previous day. After waiting 2 hours I was given my room key.

Check In was great. Greeted by employee at the front desk, very friendly. Requested for a room downstairs due to to my wife’s knees. Always get this request from the manager. We visit Seaside, Ca twice a year for Mother’s Day and our Anniversary. This year we’ll be celebrating our 25th year that we were married in Pacific Grove, Ca and we’ll be staying at the Sand Castle Inn again. Thank you all.

We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. The rooms were clean, spacious, and updated. Really a very nice room with super comfy beds. The bathroom was clean, but had areas where the caulking had been done and redone. The exhaust fan didn’t work and the counter and vanity needed updating to match the updated rooms. Grocery stores, Costco, In and Out burger, and a short drive to Monterey made the location excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again when visiting the Monterey area.

We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. The rooms were clean, spacious, and updated. Really a very nice room with super comfy beds. They were very nice and it was quiet there we had absolutely no problems. It looks like they are definitely upgrading the place which is great. The upgrades are very nice they are doing a good job. Its perfectly placed near all kinds of shopping theres a beach 3 minutes away . Good job and thank you so kindly for the hospitality.

Had a great stay. The room was clean and the staff was helpful. We ate at GUSTO next door. Delicious pizza and drinks. Very convenient. Breakfast options of McDonalds or Starbucks are very close by.

Basic place but very clean and room was renovated. Perfect for one night stay. Less than 15 min to Monterey Wharf. Staff was great. Seemed safe surrounded by car dealerships. Walked across lot to good Italian place for dinner. Better coffee/tea options in room and lobby would’ve been appreciated. No yea in room Keurig. No hoy water in lobby.

Easy parking, the room looked recently remodeled, comfortable bed and lots of amenities, the Keurig machine in the room was great and so was the balcony. My only complaint is there was a chair in the room that looked badly stained in the seat like someone spilled something or worse I would stay here again, the rates were consistent with other hotels/motel in the area There is a great Italian restaurant just across the parking lot from the hotel, gusto's, the wood fired pizza was amazing. And the Walgreens down the street got us the rest of our supplies for the room

Located between the Monterey Bay campus (which was the reason for our stay) and Cannery Row, this hotel was nice and clean. The front desk was friendly and offered up some wonderful things to see. Our room had coffee maker, microwave and a refrigerator (with small freezer) which was nice to store some fresh produce and ice packs. They have cameras facing the parking lot for security and a laundry room. Perfect for travelers to stay a night or two and check out the area.

The room was very clean. Several restaurants are within a 2-8 minutes walking distance. Its a good location close to hwy 1. We would stay here again.

The young man got me through check-in quickly, he was very polite! We got our rooms 1 hour early. The rooms were clean made up nicely. Even though I didn't use house keeping they were friendly & polite. The one thing that was disturbing is the flushing of toilets & the water running loudly. We have no other complaints. Thank you for the enjoyable stay!

We were there for Monterey car week so the prices are too high for the quality of the hotel. The room was generally acceptable with the a few plumbing issues. The shower controls did not work very well nor was the water very hot. The really low point was when the toilet clogged, the manager gave me a plunger and said he would not fix the toilet. This is really an unacceptable experience at the rate of $400 plus a night, I will not return to this property.
