The hotel was an excellent stop over for us in a very scenic and beautiful town. We did have some difficulty figuring out the room heating and the shower controls, but everything else far outweighed this.

Set in beautiful private grounds, always a pleasure to stay here. Staff in all areas are friendly and helpful. I like the spacious bar and lounges. I particularly enjoy their classic Scottish breakfast, with potato scones, black pudding and haggis.

Aufenthalt für 3 Nächte

Love our three day stay here. We stayed in the tower room on the second floor and it was amazing from the space to the views! In room coffee and tea and nice shampoo and soap an hairdryer to use and nice big fluffy towels! The staff could not be more pleasant and accommodating. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars for upkeep is because the carpet in the hallways was worn and the windows could use a cleaning but everything else was kept clean and neat. But we stayed there for the character more than anything and it certainly felt like a castle. The food was also amazing and the scottish fair we were hoping for. Parking was right in front and free. Close to walk to shops, food, cream and coffee. The hotel also has a very comfortable bar area and well stocked. The front seat is very helpful with making any arrangements for golf.

Shower was poor either scolding hot or cold and low pressure. Asked at reception for milk to have a cup of tea and on both occasions i was told they would be brought to my room and I didn't receive any.

Aufenthalt für eine Nacht

I have stayed at the Ben Wyvis many times over the years and this is the first time I have been placed in a room on the third floor. Apart from the fact that there lift only goes as far as the second floor and cases have to be struggled up stairs to get to the room, I was disappointed to find that the attic room had a dismal outlook and the window didn’t close securely, allowing a whistling cold draft to blow onto the head of the bed. There was no heating in the room. Even more disappointing was the fact that there was no shower in the en-suite, just a rickety ancient hand-held attachment which was part of the bath. Hardly ideal for an elderly guest and like nothing I saw in the pictures, when booking. On the brighter side, dinner was adequate, reasonably priced, and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was standard and also adequate. No doubt I’ll stay at the Ben Wyvis again some time in the future, but I certainly won’t wish to be allocated a room in the attic again. It may have been okay for servants back in Victorian times, but not for guests in a modern hotel.
