the stay was very nice and comfortable the only downside was the pool was not working other than that everything was great.

Good buffet breakfast..Evening there is an onsite bar & restaurant which is very convenient. Love view of river.

I would take this hotel off your selection. The hotel room is very dirty, I had to remake the bed as it wasn’t made properly. there was only cold water from the shower. The breakfast was inedible. The elevator seems unsafe. We only stayed one night but they allow pets. I’m pretty sure we brought home fleas from there which transferred to our cats. This hotel needs to be demolished. If I could take back our stay I would as I regret it more than I can express. The only positive thing is the staff are very kind, I feel badly for them. They really go out of their way to try to help.

I booked a room through Hotels.com and the reviews gave it an 8.8 rating. For the price point I thought it would be a good value. The hotel is located adjacent to a semi-vacant out-dated strip mall in an area of town that doesn't have a lot of amenities. We had a room facing the parking lot that was adjacent to the single elevator of the entire hotel. The Hotel itself is quite outdated and a more than a bit worn. The elevator was slow and it is a lot quicker to just use the stairs if you're not carrying anything. The lobby is perfunctory and not very welcoming at all. There is an essentially deserted hotel restaurant off the lobby and for the one night I stayed there I never saw any guests eating there. The public areas aren't dirty but they're not sparkling clean either. And the wear and tear on the building is evident everywhere you look. even the luggage carts are worn, rickety and unclean. The room we had was clean but worn. There was no place to sit other than the desk chair which I found odd for a hotel room. There is a gas fireplace in the room that seemed to serve no real function other than to take up space. The air conditioning unit leaked condensation onto the carpet and overall the lighting in the room was subpar. The one high point of the room was the bathroom. It was clean (a little mold in the shower) and updated. Overall I found the stay to be bearable and would rate the hotel as a 2-star. And if I had it to do over again I would pay the few e

Great little hotel. Kids loved the pool access. Winsor pizza was phenomenal. Rooms were clean & comfortable. We will definitely be back.

The hotel and the rooms were very nice as were the staff. The pool not so much hairballs and bugs and slimy.

The entrance and dining breakfast area has beautiful wood and historic item. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and modern. Used the gym and warning trails from Love Park. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

This hotel was disgusting. I cannot believe the difference between the pictures & what these rooms actually look like. It's seriously criminal. We reserved a King Suite & when we walked in, the carpet was so filthy & it smelled awful. The mattress on the pull-out bed was unusable. I returned to the front desk & requested a room change, which we were able to do, but we had to bring all of our things back downstairs before we could get another set of keys and then bring it all back upstairs. And unfortunately when we got there we had really only upgraded from a 0 to a 1. Still smelly, still dirty. It was after midnight, so we decided to just get to sleep so we could get out of there asap.

The room wasn’t properly cleaned. There were bugs, spiders and box elder type-bugs. There were hairs left in the bathroom, on the counters, AND in the sheets. It was disgusting. The hotel smelled stale- not a place we will be returning to.

First room had dirty sheets & smelled of smoke. Had to ask for a different room. Very old & run down, dirty walls & doors all throughout.

Staff was great but hotel needs a lot of cleaning in hallways. Definitely opportunity on the smell as well. It seem urine if dog was spotted all over the carpet. Pool need more cleaning and painting.

The hotel lobby was beautiful and smelled amazing when entering. Check in process was extremely slow with one person working and several people checking in. My husband, my sister, my two nieces and I were there for my aunts funeral. We reserved two separate rooms and were informed we would be on separate floors. While the rooms were spacious and appeared clean, the air conditioning unit was covered in dust inside the vents and struggled to keep the room cool and comfortable. The bathroom had splatters of brown on the walls in places that appeared to have been there for a while, as I tried to clean them but my attempts failed. While using the iron I noticed white flakes all over my clothes that I was attempting to press for my aunts funeral. I ended up having to use a wet cloth to scrub my clothes to clean off the marks. Only two regular coffee pods were placed in the basket and I had to go to the front desk to request more. I had to ring the bell, as no one was present at the desk. After waiting a young man with blonde hair appeared and seemed annoyed for being bothered. There is a partially abandoned strip mall next to the hotel that sits behind the McDonald’s. We noticed trash along the sidewalks and the only stores still open were a tobacco, liquor and hair salon. I did meet a very pleasant young woman who works the early mornings at the hotel and prepares breakfast, I wish I would have caught her name, as she was very personable and pleasant to speak with.

Room was clean, as we're all public areas. Staff were all very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was very nice, a good variety. Overall, the place needs to continue with the upgrades to maintain the beauty of this scenic hotel.

Room never cleaned during stay. Evidently need to notify desk if desire, Beds were comfortable. Nice to walk along river front.

Check-in process was quick. Front desk clerk was very friendly. Asked for a non-smoking room but the room smelled like cigarette. Front desk clerk offered to move us to another but we had already settled in. Carpets in stairway hall were filthy with black stains. The room was very clean but the carpet felt and looked dirty as well. The hotel is in dire need of an upgrade.

If you like old charm with a beautiful view instead of contemorary that overlooks a parking lot, this is it. The rooms are nicely updated, but the rest of the inn includes fireplaces, mahogany panels, and stained glass. Upgrading to a room with a river view is worth it! I will be back! Just needed hangers in the closet.

Front desk staff was great. Very helpful. In the hustle and bustle of moving our bags to the room, my wife forgot her purse. The front desk staff safeguarded the purse until we realized it was missing and went back for it. This is an older hotel that has been updated. It is in a beautiful treeline on the edge of the Rock River. Neat pictures of local sites on the walls. Water pressure is not great. Staffing issues caused our initial checkin to be delayed. The included breakfast was also delayed. Overall, the hotel is a decent value for the price. We would stay here again

The room itself was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The carpet in the hallway were stained and in serious need of cleaning or replacement. Our room was on the 2nd floor, but we had to go to the bar on the 3rd floor to submit our room service order (wouldn’t take the order over the phone.

The website pics were misleading. There was a view of the river from the room however it overlooked a railroad track and downed trees and sticks. I expected more for the price. Room was very noisy. It was under the dining room and we heard chairs moving, people walking,etc

Extremely comfortable beds and good breakfast. The architectural details give it a lot of charm! Overall, a nice place to rest while on a roadtrip.

Customer service was top-notch. Kitchen staff even made us some food after the kitchen had closed. Great morning buffet and stunning views from the dining room and many guest rooms. This is not a cookie-cutter hotel chain and is unique with nice interior architectural features. From my understanding, the hotel is undergoing some fairly extensive remodeling. The floors and carpet were a little dirty -- but that may be attributed to them spending more time on other parts of the building right now. We needed a roll-out bed since no double rooms were available. The folding roll-out bed mattress was thin and extremely uncomfortable. In the bathrooms, the glass shower doors are extremely thin and easily broken (probably not commercial grade). Overall, it was pleasant, staff was great, food was fresh; we would return.

The staff truly cares. The complimentary breakfast is the best breakfast I ever had at a hotel. I met the cook. I said that I loved the food, but I had to leave early the next day and I would have to miss breakfast. She said that she would come in early and ensure that the food would be ready in time for me to make my flight. You don't see that level of service anymore.

Had to wait 30 min while 2 people tried to solve a simple problem for someone in line in front of me it was 10pm I was tired and wanted to check I in and go to bed

We stayed prior to a flight out of RFD to Mexico. The service was excellent from the time we walked in the doors until our check-out the next morning. Our room was comfortable, clean, very nice. We ate dinner and had drinks at the onsite restaurant. food was delicious and the service was most enjoyable. Presley was warm & welcoming at the front desk. Great fist impression.

I had higher expectations for this property, however my stay was quite disappointing. You can hear noise from the rooms nearby as if you are in the same room with them. Another patron of the hotel was so loud, yelling , laughing, engaging in sexual intercourse. Multiple complaints were made by numerous guests but they continued to allow them to stay. We overheard staff tell them finally at 3am, this is the last time, or we'll call the police. Too late, they allowed this disgraceful behavior to occur for over 5 hours. We didnt get any sleep and had our 2 young children with us. Then for their continental breakfast which other reviewers said was excellent, consisted of boxed cereal and packaged pastries. We paid 280.00 for one night, for that kind of money stay elsewhere.

From start to finish, this was an amazing stay! I was greeted and checked in by Katrina who obviously loved her job and really cared about the facility. She seemed to "brag" about the hotel and was so extremely pleasant and welcoming. It didn't stop there, every staff member I interacted with was very nice and helpful and seemed to be very positive. Even the night desk man was helpful with some issues I had working the TV. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning with fresh bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, B&G and an assortment of other items. The girls in the kitchen even brought out fresh cut fruit and offered it up table side. Now these ladies in the kitchen area scored big points too because my son left his invisalign retainers wrapped in a napkin when we went back to our room. He ran back downstairs and they had already cleared the table but they took the time to look for them in the trash!!! Saved a $200 replacement there! Don't let me forget to mention the facility in general. The parking lot was not as exciting as the inside but they had it well lit and lots of cameras so I had no concerns. The inside is just beautiful with old style woodwork. The rooms were very clean and spacious with lots of towels in the bathroom. Very clean bathroom and tub. Beds were firm but soft with plenty of pillows. The price was good and this was all around a great visit and experience and we will definitely be coming back often!!!

The person at the hotel desk would not check in anyone even a few minutes before the check in time. Once the check in time arrived, almost everyone in the long line was told their room was not yet available. For those of us going to an event, we had no place to get ready. Later, after returning, the people in the room next door were very loud and even though it was midnight, the hotel declined to do anything about it. On the plus side, one desk clerk was very nice, the room was fine and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was mostly clean.

Neighborhood was a bit run down. Tv in bedroom was inoperable. Beautiful view of the Rock River fro our room.

In a vacant shopping center parking lot. All else was very good, especially the staff.

The bathroom was half clean, the room smelled like mildew, the park behind it is beautiful but no access from the hotel to get to it. You'll have to use the bike trail to get there. The hotel is on an old run down mini mall area but the staff was nice. If you're in a car, you'll around nice parks & things to do, but NOT IN WALKING DISTANCE.This place is a hit or miss depending what you are looking for in a hotel. I won't come back

The property is in a beautiful riverfront setting, but the surroundings show signs of business failure...depressing.

We enjoyed our stay. The park just across the bridge was a perfect walk, and good for our dog. Friendly staff. Good room with river view, and comfortable bed.

This hotel has a great location just don't get too swayed by what it is surrounded by on the west. My room overlooked the river and was surprisingly large!

There are fast food outlets around, large empty shopping centre and large carpark right next door which had hoons at night time. Some one even ran into a light pole and police and firies then attended.

The hotel was nice, well maintained however it was hard to find as we didn't see any signage and entrance to the property was through a run-down mall area. GPS is what got us to our location.

Needs updating breakfast late and no cereal when asked man said no cereal

Breakfast could be better choices..pancakes were cold snd tasted old.. Maybe a waffle machine? BLOOD ON COMFORTER! EWWWWW We enjoyed the tour..especially the SULTAN SUITE.

Gorgeous on the inside! The restaurant had great options for dinner and breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The people that work there are great. The bad part is there was barely anything for breakfast the whole weekend everyone pretty much had to eat toast or cereal. All the guests were mad at breakfast each day and no one was there to even do refills. The pool was working which is why I picked the hotel so it was kind of a bummer but it could be a very nice hotel if some things were done.

Room was nice, comfortable and clean. Didnt have outlets by un bathroom my mirror to dry hair and you could hear people walking upstairs. The breakfast buffet had a few things but they honestly werent good. The silverware had many dirty with peanut butter on them still. Ended up tossing everything's and eating a bagel. Overall the hotel was nice but needs a serious overhaul to buffet taste and cleanliness.
