Excellent Stay for the price. Nice room and grounds are lovely too. Was quiet couldnt hear anyone else areound us . Pool, jaccuzi, sauna and steam room all well kept and clean. Free filtered cold water around the hotel which is nice as I prefer filtered when I stay away from home. Staff were friendly and for the price just cant fault it.

Excellent for dog and close to Chester. Good stop in easy reach of M6 north or south. Dogs allowed in the bar but not in the restaurant. Bar not laid up for breakfast on Sunday but was on Monday morning.

A lovely place to stay the grounds were lovely with squirrels everywhere,the evening meal food was beautiful and breakfast you could help yourself to however much you wanted, room was clean and substantial for what we needed, and the pool was great and quiet when we went, lovely night away would definitely go back.

Damp mouldy bathroom Reception … at 2pm I tried to check in .. Quite curtly the reply was .. your rooms ready but that will be a £15 early check in . I will wait thank you . Ok replied Check in at 3pm .. I was welcomed with a queue of 10 people .. seems a crazy policy to me Got to the room .Room 103. Room ok Bathroom omg - Door warped with damp at the bottom The shower glass surround wasn’t fitting properly with its seal dangling this water poured onto the floor that had to be mopped with towels .. that’s why the door was warped . Loose tiles and black aged mould also surrounding bath shower and sink ..

Hotel grounds are lovely and well kept . We got the deluxe double as it was out anniversary . Room was spacious however the bedding was not clean . There was black curly hair all over the suver cover . House keeping came and changed it . Fidnt make a difference the new one they had put on was torn . The bin bag in the bathroom wasnt changed from the previous person there was someones green acrylic nails in it and condom wrapper which i thought qas diagusting . The breakfast waa great . There was a really skinny cat on the premises which we went to buy food for he was starving we did approach the reception and voiced our concerns they told us they know aboyt the cat and that they do feed it regularly he was very old we took him to the vet and had him checked over he is a very old cat but he is malnourished we asked them if they can please carry on feeding him but they seemed really unbothered . Other than what i mentioned it was a nice hotel juat very disappointing when you pay for a nicer room that its everything but clean

We’ve stayed here before and liked it especially for comfort. This time however the bathroom was not clean and the hairdryer didn’t work in the room. Both were resolved quickly after speaking to reception. Our stay was for 2 nights and during that time both me and my daughter were bitten. By what, I have no idea but seeing as dogs are allowed I can only imagine fleas. Won’t be staying here again, the average rooms hide behind the grandeur of the main building. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful though.

Rooms are surprisingly small, smaller than one would get in a Premier Inn I would say and I had the supposed family room with the double bed and sofa bed. Very long walk to room from reception. Breakfast OK for £15 discounted but again no better than premier inn and more expensive.

I attended for a wedding. The wedding itself was nice and the meal was good but the room itself was just okay. It was very basic with some issues like taps that were hard to turn off that would drip unless you really turned them with some force. The radiator was also quite noisy and the room itself was very noisy with little soundproofing from people around. The thumb rest on the shower head was also broken so I couldn’t change the spray type.

I think I was mislead with the photos. They all show pictures of Cranage Hall like you are staying there. You don't. You stay in a 'block of flats' that has been built next to Cranage Hall. The colour scene seems to be 'NHS'. So you feel like your staying in a care home or waiting for an op. There's NOWHERE to smoke other than a very small shelter near the front door. This a 5 minute walk from any bars on site. If you go outside via any other door you are locked out and have to walk all the way round to main reception. However the staff were awesome, very friendly, great service. The inside is very nice until you get to the 'flats', but this is basically one seating area and a large corridor past the events rooms. The pool table is there to use, but not looked after. It was a nice place to stay, but I wouldn't stay there again. Once you enter Cranage Hall everything else is in the NHS flats. You'd be just as well getting a Premier Inn.

The main Hotel is lovely, but the rooms need a revamp and are dark and dingy. we were woken up several times from noisy guests in the hallways and from the room next door talking at 2am. I'm sorry to say a premier inn room is nicer.

Beautiful building on the face of it. However, staff could have been nicer. When I arrived the receptions didn’t give me much information nor seem interested in helping. Once I checked in I had to keep calling reception regarding the info on the pool, restaurant etc. would have been helpful if they told me upon checking in.

Lovely big room, clean and comfortable. Breakfast had great choice especially gluten free options and the information on ingredients was exceptional. The bar staff were excellent, they worked very hard even though they seemed to be short staffed as there were often long queues to order.

Great stay for 1 night in a deluxe room. The hotel really went the extra mile to make our stay special. The hotel and grounds are lovely and staff from check-in to checkout were fab. The meals in the restaurant were top quality and service was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Will be staying again.

The main building is beautiful with lovely lawns and seating areas. The welcome was a little cold. Although we are De Vere Applause members, it was £100 cheaper to book through Expedia so we did- the woman on reception made it very clear we wouldn’t get our usual advantages because we hadn’t booked directly with them. All other staff we met during our stay were courteous and friendly. The hotel is very large- almost too large and, as such, feels a little impersonal. The walk to our room was very long and, when we asked to move rooms due to being placed in an interconnecting one, the was dealt with swiftly but the walk was even further. Usually this would t be a problem but my husband was walking on crutches due to a broken leg. Luckily, the fire escape door was open which provided a much quicker journey to the car later. Food was good, creative and tasty but extremely expensive. We paid over £90 for bread and dipping oil, two main courses and a bottle of wine. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice however we did notice an unpleasant metallic taste in the water which affected the taste of tea and coffee. All in all a good stay but, if we returned to the area, we would probably choose somewhere else.

Staff were superb as were the pool, room, Wi-Fi and breakfast. Dinner a bit disappointing albeit staff were again excellent. Stayed with my daughter on visit to Jodrell Bank, she loved it :) Would stay again if in the area

The hotel itself is a mixture of old and new. The old building is very grand and welcoming where as the new building is more like an office block. The pool and gym are really good and kept clean. The breakfast is top notch and plentiful as are the grounds surrounding the hotel. The big negative for our stay was the delivery of beer barrels at 7am on a bank holiday morning which happened to be below our family room. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Swimming times vary for children so check first. Overall a decent stay.

Excellent for dog and close to Chester. Good stop in easy reach of M6 north or south. Dogs allowed in the bar but not in the restaurant. Bar not laid up for breakfast on Sunday but was on Monday morning.

Very nice hotel in a lovely setting. Good bar & food, and nice grounds. Took a bit longer to get to Oulton Park than anticipated but not the hotels issue! Gym and pool looked good but didn’t have time to use.

Room nice, pool/gym good. Food in bar ok, average “bar food”. Breakfast good, although was very busy so limited choice on some items, no eggs either morning and little fresh fruit left. Could have done with another toaster as que too long didn’t have time to wait. (This was early morning so not classed as bust time but there was a “show” on nearby) Food that was available was nice.

Lovely big room, clean and comfortable. Breakfast had great choice especially gluten free options and the information on ingredients was exceptional. The bar staff were excellent, they worked very hard even though they seemed to be short staffed as there were often long queues to order.

The hotel was fine. The pool and gym were excellent. Unfortunately, on check in we asked if we could book a table for 3 people for dinner, and were told that we could book at 6.30 or 8.00. We chose 6.30. When we went to the bar for a pre dinner drink, it was packed and very noisy, with TV\'s everywhere. Then we were told that the restaurant was closed, and we would have to eat in the bar! It was too late to go somewhere else. We were very disappointed, and although we complained on checkout, all we got was a metaphorical "shrug of the shoulders!"

The room was good , slightly dated bathroom and cracks in the tiles. The restaurant had weak service and average food. Ordered chicken Caesar salad and it arrived with no chicken ….. the bar ran out of drinks and condiments , waiters were slow. Overall a weak service in the restaurant.

Great stay for 1 night in a deluxe room. The hotel really went the extra mile to make our stay special. The hotel and grounds are lovely and staff from check-in to checkout were fab. The meals in the restaurant were top quality and service was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Will be staying again.

The main building is beautiful with lovely lawns and seating areas. The welcome was a little cold. Although we are De Vere Applause members, it was £100 cheaper to book through Expedia so we did- the woman on reception made it very clear we wouldn’t get our usual advantages because we hadn’t booked directly with them. All other staff we met during our stay were courteous and friendly. The hotel is very large- almost too large and, as such, feels a little impersonal. The walk to our room was very long and, when we asked to move rooms due to being placed in an interconnecting one, the was dealt with swiftly but the walk was even further. Usually this would t be a problem but my husband was walking on crutches due to a broken leg. Luckily, the fire escape door was open which provided a much quicker journey to the car later. Food was good, creative and tasty but extremely expensive. We paid over £90 for bread and dipping oil, two main courses and a bottle of wine. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice however we did notice an unpleasant metallic taste in the water which affected the taste of tea and coffee. All in all a good stay but, if we returned to the area, we would probably choose somewhere else.

Overall the property was beautiful set in stunning grounds, very quiet. The room was very clean & very comfortable the only downside was at breakfast, if was a buffet breakfast (help yourself) they had everything you could desire but the food was either Luke warm or cold & a full English should be piping hot. The staff to were very polite & very professional.would of given 5stars but a poor breakfast let the establishment down.

Had bar snacks, were good and breakfast was very good with an excellent selection. Could do with another toaster for the breakfast time as the queue was far too long. WiFi was ok easy connection. Good leisure facilities, plenty of parking and nice location in lovely grounds. Slightly disappointed, no mineral water in room. The only observation I would like to mention would be the room doors banging shut at night and early morning as the door armatures seem a little over zealous. This may be to with fire regs etc but does disturb guest sleeping and it certainly did ours. Overall would again but maybe in a deluxe option.

Ljudnivån i frukostmatsalen var oerhört hög. Fanns inga lediga bord och vi fick duka undan tidigare gästers gamla tallrikar för att kunna sitta ner. Annars var rummen fräscha.

We had a lovely time. Relaxing view from our room. Even though we upgraded the room needs a little improvement but a good size and clean. Pool and leisure facilities well kept and easy to use. Bar meals and wine very pricey. Staff were all polite and helpful. No air con. Would stay again if in the area.

Stayed here attending a wedding. Checked us in early which was fabulous. Staff very friendly and attentive, food was really nice. Leisure facilities great and very nice breakfast, good quality and plentiful.

The staff are well trained, attentive and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. The amenities are excellent. I particularly loved that all the function spaces are named after scientists, engineers and inventors and we spent some time trying to identify who was famous for what!
