I stayed a few nights for work. The room was beautiful, warm on arrival and spotlessly clean. The parking up the steep drive can be a bit tricky and there was no space for me on the second night so I had to park in the next street. This wasn’t ideal but everything else was great so I’ve not marked them down for it. Breakfast was out of this world!

Lovely B&B in a great location. 10 mins walk in either direction to shops, cafes and restaurants. The lake is just a few minutes more in the one direction. Car parking available. Lovely rooms. Very clean. Most comfortable nights sleep I've had in a very long time. (I'd love to know where the mattress and pillows are from so I can purchase for home) I arrived several hours early prior to check in and was allowed to leave my car whilst I went out for the afternoon. I was given my room key at this point too. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and very delishious too. We had a lovely stay and would stay again. Have recommended to a friend already. Thanks. Had a lovely stay at the Rum Doodle - owner & staff very helpful and friendly! Enjoyed their lovely homemade cake and tea on arrival! Off road parking and very near to both Windermere and Bowness! Super breakfast - the pancakes a must! Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Absolutely gorgeous stay at Rum Doodle. Staff couldn’t have been nicer, felt welcomed from the moment they met us at the door. The room was decorated beautifully, exactly what we needed for a few days away. All sorts of amenities and extras - the breakfast options were vast and really tasty. The only thing worth mentioning is parking is up a very tight small hill and when there is a lot of cars in it does get a little difficult. Nothing that would stop us from making a return though. Will absolutely be booking again in future. Thank you for a thoroughly lovely stay!

The Rum Doodle was in a great location with easy private parking. The hosts made me feel welcome and the room was exactly as shown. Great breakfast menu and they made a packed breakfast for my last day due to an early start.

A beautiful and unique B & B. We had a beautiful room with a free standing bath. Beautifully decorated throughout. There were a lot of stairs.. so if that’s not for you.. be aware! Parking was tight but manageable. We did walk home from town, but it was a bit of a hike after a long day. Staff were lovely and breakfast was wonderful.

Rum Doodle was almost everything we could of asked for. Was a beautiful building with off road parking available. It was located half way between the busy lakeside and the top of Windermere. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was a great way to start the day. The only issue we had was in room 8, that we had booked, the bathtub was in the corner of the bedroom. This was against the slanted ceiling, which made showering impossible. This was not mentioned in the room description, otherwise we would have selected a different room.

Really lovely stay at Rum Doodle. Staff were very friendly, we were offered a glass of wine on arrival (which was much needed after a 6hr journey!) and everyone was very attentive during breakast service & housekeeping duties. Room was lovely, very clean and spacious. Nice comfortable bed, great to have tea making facilities in the room. Breakfast was lovely & all freshly cooked. There was nothing during our stay that was a problem or concern.

Pleasant stay with a few drawbacks. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, making for a relaxing base. Staff were friendly and helpful—especially appreciated the lovely walk recommendation. Breakfast was good quality ingredients and nice, although the dining area felt a bit cramped. Unfortunately, cleanliness let the room down slightly, with stained carpets and hairs on the bathroom floor on arrival. Noise from the room above was quite disruptive, especially being woken at 1am. With better soundproofing and a deeper clean, it could have been a perfect stay.

The entire neighborhood was straight out of a fairytale. Room was beautifully furnished and spotless. Luxury sheets, comfy bed, fluffy pillows. Choices for breakfast were amazing and delicious! Highly recommend.

The room (number 2) was immaculate! We loved having breakfast in the room, and the bathroom and bedroom was incredible! We both slept like babies....the bed was so comfy the best hotel bed ever! Can't wait to return! Thank you Rum Doodle!!

Our stay was enjoyable, however the room had a bath with shower attached within the bedroom . This would have been ok had my husband not been very tall. This is not an ideal room as the ceiling is on a slant and low.

Staff helpful and friendly, waitress at breakfast was amazing! The room however was small and stuffy with a view only of slates on the roof, and very squeaky floorboards! The bed was very uncomfortable! If we came back we’d ask to not have room 3

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and yummy food. We stayed in the Jungle Room on the ground floor where breakfast is served in your room which suited us well. The shutters on the windows do let in light, but didn't bother us with being almost winter, also as the room is next to the kitchen and front door you do get noise at breakfast but not till around 8am, but again didn't bother us as we were up anyway. Very accommodating to my vegan diet. Bed was a bit creaky but super comfy and didnt effect our sleep. Great location right between Bowness and Windermere, set away from the busy road on a quiet side road. Free parking on the car park, but be warned, it's very tight, not advisable if you have a huge car. However there is parking available on the road.

Rum Doodle is all you expect from a country B&B in the UK. Very friendly staff, fabulous breakfasts and gorgeous accommodations. Our room (no 2) was on the ground floor and while not overly large, had space for our own breakfast table so we had breakfast served to us in our room. The bedding and towels were luxurious and the afternoon coffee and cake were delicious. The location was a short 10 minute walk from Windermere station and about 15-20 walk to Bowness. The local pub, The Brookside, was a bonus and great to have something close on a very wet summer evening. Highly recommended.

Perfect in every way. We were bowled over by the sheer high standard of the room down to the finest details. Super comfortable. Host exceptionally friendly. Breakfast was of the highest possible standard. Altogether fantastic Will definitely stay again.

The staff at the rum doodle are outstanding!!! The rooms are incredibly clean the breakfast is also amazing. What really sets it apart however is the amazing service from the staff.
The staff at the rum doodle are outstanding!!! The rooms are incredibly clean the breakfast is also amazing. What really sets it apart however is the amazing service from the staff.

The Rum Doodle was in a great location with easy private parking. The hosts made me feel welcome and the room was exactly as shown. Great breakfast menu and they made a packed breakfast for my last day due to an early start.

Hostess wasn’t accommodating. Arrived 20 minutes early for check in and I wasn’t allowed to use a toilet after a long drive. Next morning , I asked whether I could have beans with my bacon and egg and got told no because that was only an option for a vegetarian breakfast. Lovely b&b but let down with the service

On arrival we were greeted by the friendly hostess with the offer of a hot drink and a nice chat. Our room was lovely, clean and very comfortable with refreshments and toiletries provided, also a lovely hot shower. The breakfast was amazing, couldn't be better, with a lovely cheerful lady serving who couldn't do enough for you. Would recommend.

Lovely B&B in a great location. 10 mins walk in either direction to shops, cafes and restaurants. The lake is just a few minutes more in the one direction. Car parking available. Lovely rooms. Very clean. Most comfortable nights sleep I've had in a very long time. (I'd love to know where the mattress and pillows are from so I can purchase for home) I arrived several hours early prior to check in and was allowed to leave my car whilst I went out for the afternoon. I was given my room key at this point too. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and very delishious too. We had a lovely stay and would stay again. Have recommended to a friend already. Thanks. A beautiful and unique B & B. We had a beautiful room with a free standing bath. Beautifully decorated throughout. There were a lot of stairs.. so if that’s not for you.. be aware! Parking was tight but manageable. We did walk home from town, but it was a bit of a hike after a long day. Staff were lovely and breakfast was wonderful.

Rum Doodle is all you expect from a country B&B in the UK. Very friendly staff, fabulous breakfasts and gorgeous accommodations. Our room (no 2) was on the ground floor and while not overly large, had space for our own breakfast table so we had breakfast served to us in our room. The bedding and towels were luxurious and the afternoon coffee and cake were delicious. The location was a short 10 minute walk from Windermere station and about 15-20 walk to Bowness. The local pub, The Brookside, was a bonus and great to have something close on a very wet summer evening. Highly recommended.

Pleasant stay with a few drawbacks. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, making for a relaxing base. Staff were friendly and helpful—especially appreciated the lovely walk recommendation. Breakfast was good quality ingredients and nice, although the dining area felt a bit cramped. Unfortunately, cleanliness let the room down slightly, with stained carpets and hairs on the bathroom floor on arrival. Noise from the room above was quite disruptive, especially being woken at 1am. With better soundproofing and a deeper clean, it could have been a perfect stay.

Had a lovely stay at the Rum Doodle - owner & staff very helpful and friendly! Enjoyed their lovely homemade cake and tea on arrival! Off road parking and very near to both Windermere and Bowness! Super breakfast - the pancakes a must! Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Absolutely gorgeous stay at Rum Doodle. Staff couldn’t have been nicer, felt welcomed from the moment they met us at the door. The room was decorated beautifully, exactly what we needed for a few days away. All sorts of amenities and extras - the breakfast options were vast and really tasty. The only thing worth mentioning is parking is up a very tight small hill and when there is a lot of cars in it does get a little difficult. Nothing that would stop us from making a return though. Will absolutely be booking again in future. Thank you for a thoroughly lovely stay!

Stayed for the weekend, room 6 was amazing and we had no idea we would get breakfast in our room. Breakfast was quality and we will definitely be returning when we come back to the lakes!

Lovely little hotel, bed was really comfortable which I think is the most important thing. The breakfast was also really good. The hosts were really helpful and polite. We only stopped for one night to break up our long drive to Scotland. If we ever go back to Bowness we would book this hotel again, real value for money also.
