Highly recommend staying here in the woodland cabins. We had a 3 night stay here with our dog and it was great. The cabin is comfortable and comes with all amenities needed, as well as a hot tub to relax after long walks around the Lake District. It’s located close to a trail which runs all the way to Lakeside on Lake Windermere. From here you can get boat trips and ferries to most places. Breakfast was standard full English, with cereals, pastries and tea / coffee. This was ok and self serve. We ate in the restaurant also and the food menu for dinner was very good, serving nice local sourced food which we enjoyed. Staff were friendly and helpful with requests. We would stay again for definite!

Noise from passing traffic, room smelt musky as we were in jasmine cottage & complementary dressing gowns & slippers would of been nice for when you visit the swimming pool & we couldnt open our window on one side of the room as a smokers ash tray was outside the window, food & staff we couldnt fault. Had a nice relaxing 2 day stay & would recommend it to my family & friends.

The staff were all excellent and attractive. The room was comfortable. The spa-bath in our en-suit was a lithe noisy but fun. We enjoyed a swim in the pool, not huge, but not busy. The only negative was breakfast was not very hot but otherwise the restaurant dinner was lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Great location for exploring the south lakes and Furness peninsula.

Busy hotel but it is The Lakes in high season. Hotel has character but a bit dated. Jacuzzi bath was broken on our visit. Breakfast service staff lax and often ran out of coffee, and items from the cold continental section and toaster constantly tripped out and stopped working. Stayed 2 nights. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Ate there 2 nights and food was great. Free on site parking, lovely lounge to sit in, games room and small pool. Would love to stay here again.

Second visit to Newby. Swimming pool cold and needs updating, bed too hard for us and we had a disturbed night due to hearing washing machines and tumble dryers. Food Ok. They have pods since last visit, maybe money could have been better spent updating current rooms and definitely leisure area. The raised grill stuck with old hazard tape in pool area trip hazard, in our opinion needs a make over.

Great value for money. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was amazing The pool and hot tub were an added bonus and we used them every morning before breakfast We had a very relaxing long weekend and will definitely be back in the future

Lovely hotel , with really freindly staff , room was clean and the bed was comfy. Complimentary tea tray was well stocked , plebty of fluffy towels and Complimentary toiletries. The food is of an excellent standard , highly recommend the roast dinner, and the roulade. Breakfast was great quality, plentiful with excellent choice, something for everyone.

Fabulous stay, the staff were so helpful and friendly. Great pool and jacuzzi. Food was really good, lovely atmosphere and drinks and food were priced reasonably. Thoroughly recommend it, the hotel is spotless.

Hotel is in a rural location only a few miles ftom windernere staff ate always realmy frienfly and so helpful. Its alwayscso clean and food is always excellent. Will definately go back.

Superior Deluxe double room on Hotels dot con for £183 a night advertised with private outdoor hot tub. I believe it's a mistake by hotels dot con the staff were lovely and helpful and this review shouldn't reflect on them or there customer service. There is no PRIVATE hot tub with this option at all. The hotel was average very creeky floors and 4 poster bed quite dated very very noisy bed. The room was reasonably clean despite mould on the bath sealant. Shame the bathroom window didn't open too. Breakfast was good apart from it bugged me that not one of the curtain rails above the doors were straight. A little overpriced for what it was. £80-£100 would have been more reasonable and that's only because it's in the lakes. Not somewhere I'd stay again. The positives: Friendly Staff, Warm Room, Food was good.

Unfortunately fire alarm went off and so had to exit building. False alarm (maybe someone smoking in room set it off) no staff of authority seen. A few noisy clients and a door that banged every time someone came through. Apart from that - room nice - huge bed - clean room and bathroom. nice staff. Reception staff nice. Stop

Everything we stayed 2 nights in the lodge with hot tub very comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly, especially Emily on reception. Breakfast was disappointed as there were not a varies.

The cabin was perfect, really big compared to other ones ive stayed at. The hot tub was nice and private and such a good temperature. The breakfast was good and the food at the returant was great. Honestly couldnt fault the stay atall. The lady at reception was so welcoming and we will definitely be coming back!

The location is good, very handy for travelling around. The staff were great and the food in the evenings was absolutely excellent. The beds are ok but not a great night's sleep - we stayed 3 nights and the floorboards creak a lot. The bathroom could do with modernisation. Having to climb into a bath with no grab rails, to take a shower could be dangerous for anyone with balance issues. Wifi is patchy to non-existent in some rooms though when we reported that they said they would check the signal booster. Breakfast is plentiful, but the old problem of leaving trays of fried eggs out under a heat lamp. for continental visitors there are no cold meats and cheeses. I think they could do better on that. It does get busy for food in the evening so do book. I would worry a bit about warm weather and needing to leave windows open on the road-facing rooms as that could be noisy. Not a problem in winter. Overall good but could do better.

This is a great location and the staff are brilliant. The hotel is basic but acceptable. I’d strongly encourage you not to accept Room one in the annex.. tell them when you book that you don’t want it. The floorboards above are ridiculously noisy and the occupant of the room only has to move gently and it sounds like the ceiling is going to fall in on you. Unfortunately, for me, they were early rises and consequently it was a terrible night sleep for me.

A quaint old fashioned style of hotel which I mean in a good way.Friendly and helpful staff along with good meals both for breakfast and in the evening at the Sportsman’s Bar.Wouldn’t hesitate to book again in the future.At the time I booked it was good value as well through Expedia.

It was lovely. The food was delicious. Wasn’t too happy when wishes had already reset tables for dinner during breakfast, telling we couldn’t sit there. Also, the internet TV wasn’t working which was a shame as I was looking forward both night to watch a moving on be of my streaming services. Otherwise the hotel was lovely

They have pods since last visit, maybe money could have been better spent updating current rooms and definitely leisure area. The raised grill stuck with old hazard tape in pool area trip hazard, in our opinion needs a make over.
Second visit to Newby. Swimming pool cold and needs updating, bed too hard for us and we had a disturbed night due to hearing washing machines and tumble dryers. Food Ok. It was lovely. The food was delicious. Wasn’t too happy when wishes had already reset tables for dinner during breakfast, telling we couldn’t sit there. Also, the internet TV wasn’t working which was a shame as I was looking forward both night to watch a moving on be of my streaming services. Otherwise the hotel was lovely

Highly recommend staying here in the woodland cabins. We had a 3 night stay here with our dog and it was great. The cabin is comfortable and comes with all amenities needed, as well as a hot tub to relax after long walks around the Lake District. It’s located close to a trail which runs all the way to Lakeside on Lake Windermere. From here you can get boat trips and ferries to most places. Breakfast was standard full English, with cereals, pastries and tea / coffee. This was ok and self serve. We ate in the restaurant also and the food menu for dinner was very good, serving nice local sourced food which we enjoyed. Staff were friendly and helpful with requests. We would stay again for definite!

Unfortunately fire alarm went off and so had to exit building. False alarm (maybe someone smoking in room set it off) no staff of authority seen. A few noisy clients and a door that banged every time someone came through. Apart from that - room nice - huge bed - clean room and bathroom. nice staff. Reception staff nice. Stop

Great value for money. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was amazing The pool and hot tub were an added bonus and we used them every morning before breakfast We had a very relaxing long weekend and will definitely be back in the future

The location is good, very handy for travelling around. The staff were great and the food in the evenings was absolutely excellent. The beds are ok but not a great night's sleep - we stayed 3 nights and the floorboards creak a lot. The bathroom could do with modernisation. Having to climb into a bath with no grab rails, to take a shower could be dangerous for anyone with balance issues. Wifi is patchy to non-existent in some rooms though when we reported that they said they would check the signal booster. Breakfast is plentiful, but the old problem of leaving trays of fried eggs out under a heat lamp. for continental visitors there are no cold meats and cheeses. I think they could do better on that. It does get busy for food in the evening so do book. I would worry a bit about warm weather and needing to leave windows open on the road-facing rooms as that could be noisy. Not a problem in winter. Overall good but could do better.

This is a great location and the staff are brilliant. The hotel is basic but acceptable. I’d strongly encourage you not to accept Room one in the annex.. tell them when you book that you don’t want it. The floorboards above are ridiculously noisy and the occupant of the room only has to move gently and it sounds like the ceiling is going to fall in on you. Unfortunately, for me, they were early rises and consequently it was a terrible night sleep for me.

Noise from passing traffic, room smelt musky as we were in jasmine cottage & complementary dressing gowns & slippers would of been nice for when you visit the swimming pool & we couldnt open our window on one side of the room as a smokers ash tray was outside the window, food & staff we couldnt fault. Had a nice relaxing 2 day stay & would recommend it to my family & friends.

The staff were all excellent and attractive. The room was comfortable. The spa-bath in our en-suit was a lithe noisy but fun. We enjoyed a swim in the pool, not huge, but not busy. The only negative was breakfast was not very hot but otherwise the restaurant dinner was lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Great location for exploring the south lakes and Furness peninsula.

Superior Deluxe double room on Hotels dot con for £183 a night advertised with private outdoor hot tub. I believe it's a mistake by hotels dot con the staff were lovely and helpful and this review shouldn't reflect on them or there customer service. There is no PRIVATE hot tub with this option at all. The hotel was average very creeky floors and 4 poster bed quite dated very very noisy bed. The room was reasonably clean despite mould on the bath sealant. Shame the bathroom window didn't open too. Breakfast was good apart from it bugged me that not one of the curtain rails above the doors were straight. A little overpriced for what it was. £80-£100 would have been more reasonable and that's only because it's in the lakes. Not somewhere I'd stay again. The positives: Friendly Staff, Warm Room, Food was good.

Fabulous stay, the staff were so helpful and friendly. Great pool and jacuzzi. Food was really good, lovely atmosphere and drinks and food were priced reasonably. Thoroughly recommend it, the hotel is spotless.

I needed somewhere to stay close to a festival venue and Newby Bridge Hotel fitted the brief. The staff on reception desk were helpful and welcoming. The main hotel building shows signs of age and wear and tear in the corridors but the bedroom itself was clean and comfortable. The breakfast experience was a bit hit and miss - even before halfway through service things were running out and not replaced quickly. Staff were obviously working hard but the dining room was busy: there was also debris on the floor and tables not cleared quickly. Food was good and when dishes were replenished there was a good selection of cereals and continental style options as well as cooked items. Parking was a bit of an issue - perhaps the bays could be repainted to help clarify where 'double' rows are and assist with guests parking considerately and ensuring everyone is accommodated. I would however use this hotel again.

Cabin floor wasn’t very clean at arrival and mat was dirty. TV didn’t work as signal was very poor and when we complained nothing was done about it . No house keeping was done the next day so no clean cups or towels. Just a carrier bag with a toilet roll and some tea bags we didn’t need. Hotel desperately needs upgrading as it looks shabby. Hotel food was very expensive for what it was. When we picked the hotel the website makes it look amazing which it certainly isn’t. I will definitely not go back

Excellent location for getting around lake Windermere. We stayed in one of the cabins around the back of the hotel and it’s was clean, spacious and really enjoyed the hot tub that came with it - lovely view of the surrounding
