Lovely room, booked one of sea view with balcony. Two easy chairs overlooking sea. Free parking behind hotel, good location for walk out to headland. Excellent Sunday lunch, comfy bed and superb breakfast. Friendly staff. Most clientele younger than us (in our 70s and not surfers)! But ideal for an overnighter in winter.

The location of this property is unbeatable. Close to the ocean and an easy walk to downtown. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I liked the parking which had a cost but was very convenient. They need to do a bit of work on the place. There was some areas in the room that needed painting and plaster work. The shower and bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was very good.

Great stone throw from the lovely fistral beach dog friendly hotel with dog friendly beaches parking with the hotel was great none of that got a hotel but where we going to park business and a nice wood burner with comfy settes to warm you up definitely will return.

Excellent stay. The staff are amazing, extremely friendly and happy to go above and beyond. The bar and breakfast area are lovely, very fresh and comfortable settings. There’s also plenty of seating outside with a wonderful view!

Reception great. Small tired room and a little dirty. Sink hadn't been cleaned & the TV remote was disgusting. TV was tiny & slow. Decor was bland to say the least. On a positive note the restaurant & evening meal was brilliant as was breakfast. Staff excellent throughout & maybe i was unlucky with my single room but if it wasn't for the tatty room I'd be back.

Really enjoyed our stay staff couldn’t do enough to help you and really friendly outside room was really well maintained my only very slight remark was a few small signs of wear and tare in our room altho was still immaculately clean just thought a £200 per night room shouldn’t have shown few signs of wear that could be easily fixed … overall very happy breakfast was really good would recommend

I loved my stylish single room. It was clean and comfortable with plenty of room to move around. I had a little sea view if I sat on the window seat. The staff were great, particularly Violet who went out of her way to be helpful. The breakfast was efficiently managed and the food was excellent. There is a beautiful sea view from the breakfast room. The only downside was the small old TV. Overall this is a great hotel, in great location with friendly, helpful staff.

Stayed for one night with a sea view balcony. The view made up for many small but all important attention to detail things which were missing. For the price paid which you would expect when paying a premium price. Items such as no hooks anywhere in the room to hang coats and towels in the bathroom. No soap, shampoo or shelf provided in the shower. Tea and coffee only provided, no biscuits, hot chocolate etc. Lots of marks on the walls and a few stains on the carpet. Outside corridors were worse for wear, they certainly need a refresh Cooked breakfast was certainly served to a price. Cheap beans, only one egg used for scrambled eggs, only one sausage and bacon, certainly not plentiful.

Really lovely hotel located in a perfect position. Sea front views and not much traffic (in March!) Bar area was lovely to sit in with the log fire burning. The room was a lovely size and no issues with cleanliness. Had a balcony room which was just perfect and well worth the extra pennies! Didn’t try the food on this occasion as we wanted to explore but it always smelt amazing! Close enough to the town centre for restaurants and pubs but far enough away that you don’t hear the drunken antics. Nice touch having the empty fridge in the room to store wine and snacks.

couldn’t be happier with my choice! location was amazing! Walking distance to Fistral Beach .. Staff was really friendly, shout out to Ivan for his help with everything I needed :) The rest of the staff was equally accomodating and friendly.. The view from the room was great. The restaurant downstairs also had a lot of food choices. The bedrooms were very clean. I highly highly recommend staying there!

Lovely little hotel thats been lovely decorated in bar and reception area. Our room was very small but still had everything we needed for our 1 night stay. Hotel has keys rather than card access which was no problem, just unusual from what we're used to now. Walls are thin if you have people next to you that bang and slam doors. Bonus is they allow dogs and food is average price, not through the roof because its a hotel.

The staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient. We stayed for three nights and there were two separate wedding parties which made you feel a but like you were gate crashing! The disco went on until midnight so it was after 1am before it was reasonably quiet. Apart from that it was an enjoyable stay and if the weather is nice, like it was for us, the outside area is great.

Booked this stay @ Oceanside few wks before stay & ended up speaking to a gentleman @ hotel reception after booking as taking dog so wanted to check details! He was pleased we rang as he could move us to a bigger room with dog excellent I thought. Checked in & realised we were put in a very small room 9x11, small d bed very uncomfortable also & en-suite of sorts ! The phrase couldn’t swing a cat was not a joke had to put suitcase in window only place, no other rooms left so couldn’t move us sadly, stayed 1 night only & got a refund next day ! Staff lovely !

An exceptional stay. Superb staff. I stayed with my teenage sons and puppy and the care and attention shown by staff was above and beyond. The hotel might not have 5 stars or be deemed luxurious, but the comfort, friendliness and level of service, far surpasses many of the 5 star hotels I have visited. It was tailored to meet our needs perfectly! We will return!

The lady who checked us in wasnt very good she had a lot of attitude and was miserable, Hotel room is very nice and large , round the hotel going to the rooms need some repainting marks everywhere look’s tired, breakfast was really good , location was spot on for the beach and town center ..
The lady who checked us in wasnt very good she had a lot of attitude and was miserable, Hotel room is very nice and large , round the hotel going to the rooms need some repainting marks everywhere look’s tired, breakfast was really good , location was spot on for the beach and town center ..

couldn’t be happier with my choice! location was amazing! Walking distance to Fistral Beach .. Staff was really friendly, shout out to Ivan for his help with everything I needed :) The rest of the staff was equally accomodating and friendly.. The view from the room was great. The restaurant downstairs also had a lot of food choices. The bedrooms were very clean. I highly highly recommend staying there!

Excellent stay. The staff are amazing, extremely friendly and happy to go above and beyond. The bar and breakfast area are lovely, very fresh and comfortable settings. There’s also plenty of seating outside with a wonderful view!

Excellent Sunday lunch, comfy bed and superb breakfast. Friendly staff. Most clientele younger than us (in our 70s and not surfers)! But ideal for an overnighter in winter.

The location of this property is unbeatable. Close to the ocean and an easy walk to downtown. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I liked the parking which had a cost but was very convenient. They need to do a bit of work on the place. There was some areas in the room that needed painting and plaster work. The shower and bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was very good.

Really lovely hotel located in a perfect position. Sea front views and not much traffic (in March!) Bar area was lovely to sit in with the log fire burning. The room was a lovely size and no issues with cleanliness. Had a balcony room which was just perfect and well worth the extra pennies! Didn’t try the food on this occasion as we wanted to explore but it always smelt amazing! Close enough to the town centre for restaurants and pubs but far enough away that you don’t hear the drunken antics. Nice touch having the empty fridge in the room to store wine and snacks.

Reception great. Small tired room and a little dirty. Sink hadn't been cleaned & the TV remote was disgusting. TV was tiny & slow. Decor was bland to say the least. On a positive note the restaurant & evening meal was brilliant as was breakfast. Staff excellent throughout & maybe i was unlucky with my single room but if it wasn't for the tatty room I'd be back.

The staff were great, particularly Violet who went out of her way to be helpful. The breakfast was efficiently managed and the food was excellent. Stayed for one night with a sea view balcony. The view made up for many small but all important attention to detail things which were missing. For the price paid which you would expect when paying a premium price. Items such as no hooks anywhere in the room to hang coats and towels in the bathroom. No soap, shampoo or shelf provided in the shower. Tea and coffee only provided, no biscuits, hot chocolate etc. Lots of marks on the walls and a few stains on the carpet. Outside corridors were worse for wear, they certainly need a refresh Cooked breakfast was certainly served to a price. Cheap beans, only one egg used for scrambled eggs, only one sausage and bacon, certainly not plentiful.

I'm quite particular about cleanliness and a light sleeper... So I was absolutely delighted with our overnight stay at the Oceanside. We booked relatively last minute for the eclipse and had to have a small 9m sq room (Rm 104) . Yes it was very compact (as clearly advertised) but it was fully functional and immaculately clean. Don't expect chest of drawers or a wardrobe but there are 3 sets of hangers on the walls/ door. Fine for overnight bag and stay. (Not a lot of room for suitcase.) The bed was very firm and i had the best and longest night sleep for years. Bathroom is very bijou but the shower is spacious & powerful. Bedding & towels smelled very fresh and fragrant. Walls are a little thin so we heard a 'neighbour' singing a lot. Hotel itself is light and airy with pleasing seaside themed decor and a lovely outside area with views of Fistral Bay. Room appeared to be over the kitchen and we could smell garlic in the evening but couldn't hear kitchen noise. Typically the room window only opened a couple of inches as per health & safety legislation. Staff (reception, bar, restaurant, housekeeping) were all super cheerful and friendly. Lunch and breakfast were second to none -flavourful and beautifully presented. I'd go again for the food alone. Car parking (£8) was available behind the hotel. A little dark but no trouble on the night we were there. Would I stay again? Absolutely!!!

The hotel was very clean and a lovely position with a great view from the terrace. The staff was all very helpful in our two night stay. The only issue is if you book for the basic room then be prepared for a very small room which didn’t even have a chair in the room as it was so small. Next time I would book for a better room but obviously this costs you more. Overall very good.

Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing, in fact all the food we ate there , breakfast & dinner was lovely. Room was very clean & the parking at the rear of the hotel was an added bonus. We will be going back next time we’re in Newquay.
