Nice hotel with parking out at the front. Easy check-in. Room was very clean and looked nice. In some areas it could do with a re-paint and the TV’s could be updated to smart TV so guests could stream their own media but otherwise a well equipped room with everything i needed.

Attended wedding, the 'Chapel', reception room and reception all beautifully decorated. 3 course Meal for wedding reception was delicious, well presented & hot. Breakfast, cooked fresh was of a high standard. Staff very friendly & helpful, although not a lot of them, they seemed to be muti-tasking. Only complaint was the heating, far too warm in rooms, windows didn't open & no way to cool off.

We had a lovely stay for a family wedding. The venue is stunning. My only complaint is that the cist of rooms was almost trippled for the night of the wedding which i think is a bit unfair.

Lovely place with a nice feel. Very well presented and well furnished. Wasn’t able to take the breakfast as I had to leave soon after 7am. Evening meal was very good and was served quickly. Plug is the shower must be partly blocked as it was in danger of overflowing.

Excellent, the room was spotlessly clean and very well maintained and furnished. The staff were exceptional, they were friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast was first class, cooked to perfection and well presented. I have stayed in what must be hundreds of hotels over the past 60 years and most should look at The Croft Hotel as an example of a standard to achieve. Thank you very much everyone.

I would not rate this hotel or the service at all. I came all the way from Bristol to go to a funeral at the church mins away. I arrived early and explained my friends were outside but would it be possible to check in early or leave my bag (I also emailed ahead to advise of this). I was advised to wait in the bar/reception. They did allow me to check in early but only after did they tell me I had to pay an additional charge of £20. If I'd known this in advance I wouldn't have checked in! Also a light switch was hanging off the wall, bathroom mirror is rusty and sheets are dirty. I asked for a room upgrade but this didn't happen, although the light switch has been fixed.

The staff where very helpful and made you feel very welcome. Service was fast and the staff were very polite and happy to assist. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. I would happily stay again.

This is our third stay at The Croft and we have an excellent stay every time. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable and it’s very quiet. We’ve also used the restaurant and the food is good too. We’ve already recommended it to our friends and family.

The room was clean, towels and linens of decent quality. There was some mould around the shower tray. The room wasn’t anything outstanding for the price. The breakfast was average, there didn’t seem to be enough staff to clear tables and serve which lead to a long wait for hot drinks and food. The buffet cold items and juice were slow to be topped up. Staff were polite.

A dreadful stay unfortunately. On the night of my stay there was a wedding going on downstairs. Whilst the noise from the wedding didn’t bother me when going to bed, I was woken by wedding guests shouting, singing and playing music in the corridor. The carry on continued until 4am not before wedding guests passed from room to room shouting and banging doors. I tried calling reception to complain but no one answered the phone. No compensation or apology provided when checking out the next day, just confirmation that another guest had also complained to reception. At breakfast the porridge was dry and I heard another guest request tomato sauce for their bacon only to be told they were out of stock. My room was tired and dated, with the odd leftover stray hair from previous guests found in the bathroom. No water provided in the room either. I won’t be staying again as I simply cannot afford a bad nights sleep when away on business. Very disappointing.

Hotel looked amazing, had to wait at receiption for 10 min as nobody was there, someone did shout over to say someone will be with me, but still. Room was freezing cold, had 2 portable radiators on full, had wooden floor which didnt help, shame as liked the room. Breakfast was very nice and staff very polite.

Our room was 23. Very noisy. We paid quite a bit for the room but felt it wasn’t worth it. The furniture was dated. No hair dryer in room. The room was in the old part of the hotel. The wedding venue part was beautiful, as was the lobby. There were negatives but overall I would stay here again. Just in a different part of the building

I have stayed here numerous times and with no issues But this time they had a noisy group in till we’ll gone midnight music playing 0100 and then to top it off the housekeeping/night man decided to move furniture scrapping across wooden floor

There was an issue with my original room, nothing major. I was happy for it to be rectified but the check in staff immediately moved me to better room. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was very good, both dinner and breakfast. Would stay here again.

We absolutely loved this hotel. We arrived to a warm welcome and a complimentary upgrade too. The room was amazing. Lots of space, very clean and tidy it was perfect. All the staff were amazing and happy to help with any of our questions. We had breakfast, and that was delicious. We would definitely recommend and we will be booking again soon.

Nice hotel but mixed service from the Staff. Some completely lovely but majority (Receptionists and Waitress at breakfast) uninterested and borderline rude. Still waiting for a refund and shocked by a comment made on checkout about a colleague.

Decent hotel, thought it needed some modernisation considering it’s a 4 star hotel. The front desk was nearly empty most of the time, so need to go and search for people when I needed help.

A dreadful stay unfortunately. On the night of my stay there was a wedding going on downstairs. Whilst the noise from the wedding didn’t bother me when going to bed, I was woken by wedding guests shouting, singing and playing music in the corridor. The carry on continued until 4am not before wedding guests passed from room to room shouting and banging doors. I tried calling reception to complain but no one answered the phone. No compensation or apology provided when checking out the next day, just confirmation that another guest had also complained to reception. At breakfast the porridge was dry and I heard another guest request tomato sauce for their bacon only to be told they were out of stock. My room was tired and dated, with the odd leftover stray hair from previous guests found in the bathroom. No water provided in the room either. I won’t be staying again as I simply cannot afford a bad nights sleep when away on business. Very disappointing.

Nice settting, good food, nice Staff. Traffic noise wasn’t great. Breakfast was messed up by the eggs not arriving with the full breakfast, then I had finished my breakfast and the eggs still hadn’t arrived, no urgency shown by the Staff concerned.

Stayed one night with my wife, and had dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Have stayed here before, but it’s been fully refurbished since the last time. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Steak for dinner was good, as was the cooked breakfast. Couldn’t fault it really. Very convenient for Darlington.

There was an issue with my original room, nothing major. I was happy for it to be rectified but the check in staff immediately moved me to better room. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was very good, both dinner and breakfast. Would stay here again.

Excellent, the room was spotlessly clean and very well maintained and furnished. The staff were exceptional, they were friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast was first class, cooked to perfection and well presented. I have stayed in what must be hundreds of hotels over the past 60 years and most should look at The Croft Hotel as an example of a standard to achieve. Thank you very much everyone.

It's a shame that at breakfast when I had eggs benedict which should have muffins they did not have them, and gave me normal buns or burger buns.

Callum the barman/waiter was top class, service impeccable, room was spotless and quiet, comfortable, spacious. Food was top quality, hats off to the chefs who probably dont get the appreciation they deserve being behind the scenes. WILL BE BACK

When I arrived at 8pm after a long journey, I was advised by reception that the kitchen woudl be open until 9:15pm. Unfortunately this was not the case and it closed at 8pm which meant that I could not have dinner, although I was offered a packet of crisps! The room was clean, but the net curtains were torn. Breakfast was nice, but overall the stay was not as enjoyable as it could have been.

The room was clean, towels and linens of decent quality. There was some mould around the shower tray. The room wasn’t anything outstanding for the price. The breakfast was average, there didn’t seem to be enough staff to clear tables and serve which lead to a long wait for hot drinks and food. The buffet cold items and juice were slow to be topped up. Staff were polite.

Decent hotel, thought it needed some modernisation considering it’s a 4 star hotel. The front desk was nearly empty most of the time, so need to go and search for people when I needed help.
