Staff are very helpful and friendly, lots to do for children. Next to the beach and a cliff walk down to Amusements, rides arcade and Restaurant. Parking is in front of Hotel. Room has everything you need. Tea coffee biscuits etc Netflix and sky sports. We enjoyed our week very much

My partner and I stayed for one night in a standard room. It was ok and the bed was comfortable though the decor needed a little TLC and some of the wall lights didn’t function properly. There was also a small bathroom skylight which had gathered a collection of dead flies. We liked all members of staff who were unfailingly friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the many facilities including the attractive swimming pool, large public rooms and the table tennis. Our evening meals served in the bar were average. The meat was beautifully tender but the broccoli was overcooked and the boulangère and roast potatoes didn’t seem to have seen the inside of an oven for very long. It all appeared to have been dumped on our plates and harked back to how hotel food used to be served a few decades ago. However, breakfast was excellent in every respect: well cooked food, lots of choice and attentive service. Sadly, although there’s much to like about the Langstone Cliff’s traditional approach to hospitality, it’s not enough to persuade us to visit again.

nice old building if you do not mind creaking floorboards. They really need to up-date their web page, is says free parking but it is not it cost £4 per day, picture of the room I booked showed a bathroom with a bath, no bath. It was clean but not perfect. Staff were OK understaffed at the bar took 10 minutes to get a coffee, and unfortunately staff argued with each other in front of customers because of this. like most things these days food and drinks were over priced, cost of the room was over priced for what we got. it was more like a B+B without the breakfast, which if we wanted would of cost extra.

This is absolutely amazing!! The room is simple but spotless, the bar area, lounge area, restaurant area is fantastic!! The staff are really really lovely people who are really friendly and can’t do enough for you!! They have beautiful jewellery on sale and I’m gutted to realise I forgot to buy one!! The food is really lovely!! I recommend booking the breakfast and four course evening meal because it was so nice!! Not a bad thing to say about this hotel in all honesty!! Soft play indoor area with toys, pools, Wendy houses, two climbing and slide play areas, woodland areas for walking to the beach/shops/amusements/town. The little beach area is so lovely too with some great shops!! Definitely will be coming back and gutted we didn’t book longer

Was very disappointed at being charged extra to park the car because we booked through Hotels.com. Only received a refund when we complained and pointed out that had I come and just bought a coffee I would have been eligible for free parking as I would have been considered to be a customer. Good stay hotel is outdated but is very clean and the service and food was excellent We stayed for two nights to attend a wedding in the area My only complaint is that on the Friday night children were running riot around the hotel reception, lounge and TV room with no parents or staff intervening, allowing them to be extremely noisy and disruptive!!

No hot water final morning of stay - receptionist had little empathy to fact I had to be at work for 8 and water won’t be hot until 830 at checkout no apologies no reduction in bill to reflect no hot water in fact after I left and checked the bill they had changed me £13 for a breakfast I had not had adding insult to injury

Stayed here with may 6 year old. The hotel was ok, but very faded English riviera. A very basic and cramped room (especially the bathroom) for the same price I paid for decent four star luxury the week before in Dublin. So cost versus experience was a bit off kilter. Extra payments for parking and poor kids food menu. Just simple and ok but not what I had hoped for from the cost and pictures (Amazing breakfast off-site at the local mushroom farm though!)

nice old building if you do not mind creaking floorboards. They really need to up-date their web page, is says free parking but it is not it cost £4 per day, picture of the room I booked showed a bathroom with a bath, no bath. It was clean but not perfect. Staff were OK understaffed at the bar took 10 minutes to get a coffee, and unfortunately staff argued with each other in front of customers because of this. like most things these days food and drinks were over priced, cost of the room was over priced for what we got. it was more like a B+B without the breakfast, which if we wanted would of cost extra.

Good stay hotel is outdated but is very clean and the service and food was excellent We stayed for two nights to attend a wedding in the area My only complaint is that on the Friday night children were running riot around the hotel reception, lounge and TV room with no parents or staff intervening, allowing them to be extremely noisy and disruptive!!

Dated and tired public areas - restaurant was like a step back in time to the 1980s. No hot water final morning of stay - receptionist had little empathy to fact I had to be at work for 8 and water won’t be hot until 830 at checkout no apologies no reduction in bill to reflect no hot water in fact after I left and checked the bill they had changed me £13 for a breakfast I had not had adding insult to injury

This is absolutely amazing!! The room is simple but spotless, the bar area, lounge area, restaurant area is fantastic!! The staff are really really lovely people who are really friendly and can’t do enough for you!! They have beautiful jewellery on sale and I’m gutted to realise I forgot to buy one!! The food is really lovely!! I recommend booking the breakfast and four course evening meal because it was so nice!! Not a bad thing to say about this hotel in all honesty!! Soft play indoor area with toys, pools, Wendy houses, two climbing and slide play areas, woodland areas for walking to the beach/shops/amusements/town. Fantastic hotel with a real old world charm. From outside it looks dated but inside it is beautifully furnished and every aspect has been thought of. Staff are so friendly and there are lots of them around at all times. The views and grounds are spectacular too. Thoroughly recommend and will be returning.

After a coach holiday was cancelled we decided to return to Langstone Cliff Hotel for a short break after we had first enjoyed a visit the previous year... though this was a winter visit we still enjoyed the quiet and friendliness of the hotel plus the lovely of the Dawlish area and of course the sea wall and Black swans, would recomend a visit at any time of the year

My partner and I stayed for one night in a standard room. It was ok and the bed was comfortable though the decor needed a little TLC and some of the wall lights didn’t function properly. There was also a small bathroom skylight which had gathered a collection of dead flies. We liked all members of staff who were unfailingly friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the many facilities including the attractive swimming pool, large public rooms and the table tennis. Our evening meals served in the bar were average. It all appeared to have been dumped on our plates and harked back to how hotel food used to be served a few decades ago. Sadly, although there’s much to like about the Langstone Cliff’s traditional approach to hospitality, it’s not enough to persuade us to visit again.

Stayed here with may 6 year old. The hotel was ok, but very faded English riviera. Lovely hotel by the sea We stayed at the Langstone Cliff hotel before a concert at Powderham castle. We arrived early afternoon and decided to have lunch on the terrace overlooking the sea. Lunch was lovely and the drinks were cold. Having parasol’s kept us cool on a very hot day. Our room was lovely, quite small but had everything we needed and the air con was an added bonus. The travel to Powderham was easy and relatively quick with only a short walk to the station and then about a 15 minute walk to the concert. Breakfast was very good and service was again great. We didn’t manage to try the pool but it looked lovely. Highly recommend this lovely independent hotel.

The hotel was superb. I would call it quirky with everything covered. The staff were very accommodating, providing late sandwiches after a hold up in our arrival. Air con was superb and the pool very welcome in the hot weather. Clean and efficient made this a perfect stay.
