Lovely hotel, tidy and well kept. Nice decor all round. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. They don’t service lunch or dinner but do allow you to get a take away and eat it in the dining room. The bar closes quite early, would be nice if it was open until 11 so you can unwind after a long day. Would definitely stay again

Hotel was well run and the chef kindly cooked some food of mine due to numerous dietary restricttions, and did it beautifully. Dog was welcome and much kindness shown to both of us. Would highly recommend particularly to solo travellers or those with dog.

I was impressed with the lady who ran the hotel that night. She checked me in, instructed me where to park my car, advised where to get dinner because they didn't provide evening meals, served my drink in the bar, laid my table for my brought in take away dinner and then cleared up and still managed to do some cleaning. She made my evening very easy and pleasant. I couldn't ask for more.
I was impressed with the lady who ran the hotel that night. She checked me in, instructed me where to park my car, advised where to get dinner because they didn't provide evening meals, served my drink in the bar, laid my table for my brought in take away dinner and then cleared up and still managed to do some cleaning. She made my evening very easy and pleasant. I couldn't ask for more.

Nice old hotel with parking. On the main road with a cafe downstairs. Room was nicely decorating and in good condition with a lovely comfy bed. The smell of dog in the room was really bad and I had an asthma attack even with the window open all night.

This is by far the loveliest, cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. It is absolutely spotless. Gorgeous rooms, lovely breakfast room / coffee lounge, cosy bar (plus outdoor area) and dog-friendly. The staff are lovely - friendly, helpful, professional and calm. The breakfast is delicious and their hot chocolate is so good 👌 The hotel has a free car park. For me, the only downside was the noise of traffic from outside. Approx 45-minute drive to Exmoor National Park and other popular tourist attractions, such as Saunton Sands.

The George is in the main street of the town so easy to find. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. I slept well but my friend had a bad experience with a noisy guest in another bedroom who was very noisy from 4.30 a.m. until it was time to get up so she lost a lot of sleep. It is an old building with thin walls and people need to be considerate of others. To end on a positive note, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the cooked breakfast was lovely, particularly the scrambled egg!

This is my favourite place to stay in the area. The majority of the rooms I've stayed in are large, beautifully decorated, so clean too, with a big comfortable bed. The breakfast choice is excellent and delicious.

This is by far the loveliest, cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. It is absolutely spotless. Gorgeous rooms, lovely breakfast room / coffee lounge, cosy bar (plus outdoor area) and dog-friendly. The staff are lovely - friendly, helpful, professional and calm. The breakfast is delicious and their hot chocolate is so good 👌 The hotel has a free car park. For me, the only downside was the noise of traffic from outside. Approx 45-minute drive to Exmoor National Park and other popular tourist attractions, such as Saunton Sands.

Lovely hotel, tidy and well kept. Nice decor all round. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. They don’t service lunch or dinner but do allow you to get a take away and eat it in the dining room. The bar closes quite early, would be nice if it was open until 11 so you can unwind after a long day. Would definitely stay again

This is my favourite place to stay in the area. The majority of the rooms I've stayed in are large, beautifully decorated, so clean too, with a big comfortable bed. The breakfast choice is excellent and delicious.

My second syat here and very happy. The rooms are very spacious, well equipped, and have a premium feel to them. The hotel represents excellent value. The breakfast is excellent.

The George combines a beautiful old building with clean, fresh interiors which are comfortable and thoughtfully planned - plenty of storage and hanging space, plenty of space in the bathroom for damp towels etc. I visit annually and it's a pleasure to see the same staff each year I visit! A comfy bed with padded headboard (ideal for reading), Smart TV and decent wifi add to the convenience. My room overlooked South Molton's main street but the double-glazing is so effective there was no noise. Breakfast is delicious and service is prompt and friendly. Some of the rooms have a couple of steep steps up to them so those with mobility issues might want to let the hotel know so they can allocate rooms accordingly.
