I booked the Hotel because it had a gym, the pictures on the website is not the same gym, or it has been made smaller and equipment removed. Hidden car park charges at hotel. Travelodge do not charge extra. However I found every staff member helpful and a pleasure to converse with

No one at reception, no idea how long they would take to come out, no one was around, I only checked in for few hours to relax, didn’t want to be standing at reception. Last time I stayed there parking was free, no where It mention parking fee. And the staff member said cash only and charged £5 cash. Booked a room for 2 adults, only 1 set of towels Tv not working Both above I could get a receptionist to address the issue as no one was there. Few hours later, whilst checking out, no one there again, just left my hotel card at the desk. Should attest have a bell for customers to notify the staff someone is there waiting.

As someone who stays in hotels 23 nights a month. I tend not write a review unless I have a particularly bad experience. I find this particular Ramada is below par. It has so much going for it, yet the things that matter it fails. GOOD POINTS: 1. Great logistically as it gives easy access to North London, The major Logistical Arteries such as the M25, A1, M1, M40 & is only 5 miles from Cockfosters for a tube into the heart of London. 2. Great Parking & amenities at the services. Plenty of Car Charging stations, Great HGV Facilities BAD POINTS: 1. All the bedding has many obvious stains on it. 2. They advertise the Gym as an amenity. I have stayed 5 times this month & have experienced a lot of mendacity from the staff. (The gym is full of bedding & mattresses) 3. The staff can be rather unmannerly towards guests. 4. The plugs within the rooms are nugatory at best as they are too close to the table. Restrictive to non-lateral chargers to plug in. e.g. Mac or Dell. 5. No extension cables to help resolve point 4. Makes it useless for professionals who need to work in their rooms. 6. Unsafe Windows on ground floor. 7. Broken tiles in the bathroom that creek and move below your feet. (High risk of get your feet pinched)

Having stayed at this hotel several times before, was very disappointed to be informed on arrival that they had changed their policy and now charge hotel guests to park at a motorway service station. Funny they did not think to advertise this beforehand.

The room we were first shown to smelled of cigarettes but we were able to change rooms. A used bath towel from the previous guests was still hanging in the bathroom and there was only one set of towels provided. This was swiftly remedied. The lift was out of order. The hotel does look a little tired.

We hadn’t scheduled to spend the night at the Ramada but due to adverse weather conditions ( especially on the motorway ) this hotel suddenly seemed like a sanctuary. We pulled in to the Welcome Break South Minns service station for a coffee & seeing the hotel, decided to stay overnight. Sadly it was terribly run-down & extremely shabby. It desperately needs a total re-furbish! Thankfully the bed was large & bed linen impeccable but the bedroom carpet & interior was really dirty as was bathroom. The taps of washbasin were absolutely filthy. The tiled floors had dust ground into the corners & begged for a good steam clean! The entire place was dated & felt totally uncared for.

Better sleep in your car. Absolutely disgusting experience. This place should be shut down and fumigated. The room was filthy, dust everywhere, carpets stained like they’ve never been cleaned, and a stench that hit me the second I walked in. It smelled like damp mold mixed with old sweat. The bathroom was a nightmare, with grime all over and a shower floor that looked like it hadn’t been scrubbed in weeks. The lift felt like stepping into a cramped shoebox. Honestly, I was scared it might get stuck. And the staff? Rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping. When I asked to switch rooms because of the smell, the receptionist acted like I was the problem. Zero customer service. The only reason this place is still in business is because it’s at a motorway service station and people are too tired to argue. Do yourself a favour, sleep in your car. I was forced to book a hotel extremely quickly due to a broken pipe issue at my home. I don't live far from this hotel and it was quite cheap and now i know why! There is no grout in the tiles in the shower or bathroom floor, the mattress looks like a horror movie. I would avoid this place as it is not clean. I even brought my own hoover to vacuum the bedroom floor!!

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room when we got int here smelt like some a poo had been left in there, with the extractor in the smell didn’t go away. There are chips int he bathroom floor that had we had a little child could have hurt themselves. There was no grout in between the floor tiles a crack along the unit behind the toilet. It was also not the cleanest water marks on the toilet seat and behind the sink. One of the plug sockets didn’t work, one of the bedside lights didn’t work and there was condensation on the windows.

Unfortunately there was an awful smell in the bathroom. There was a fair amount of dust in both bathroom and bedroom. There was no plug in sink. The black out curtains didn’t actually cover the window.

The staff were wonderful and very kind. But the rooms were dirty and the bathroom smelled horrendous - like wet towels and mold that had festered for ages. The beds were at least clean but not the most comfy. Good for the price but only if you won’t be in the room for much of your stay.

Disgusting. Rotten. Cigarette smoke saturated rooms and corridors. Unhygienic carpet and bathroom. Staff on reception were friendly and welcoming. The building needs condemning. In hindsight I should have slept in my car.

This hotel is in a good location with shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. It is a great value for money. The rooms are spacious and it was great to have iron, fan and hairdryer in the room. If there was aircon I would give it 5 stars in all areas. However it won't refrain me from returning. I will come back again.

The WiFi didn’t work at all which we needed due to working whilst I was staying at the hotel. Plug sockets in the room were so low on one side under the tv that we couldn’t plug our phone chargers in at all. We thought there was on site breakfast and restaurant facilities. A bit disappointed that we had to use the next door service area facilities for food as we sure suggested the hotel did the breakfast. Shower wax fantastic though, very powerful.

Just an overnight stay for work and I must say I was impressed. Despite it's proximity to the M25 it was pretty peaceful. Room and bathroom functional and clean. Being in a service station there's everything you need, car charging, food outlets, fuel. So, all it all, nothing swanky but very comfortable.

The reception staff were excellent. Very polite and helpful. We didn't actually see any other staff. Position wise the hotel is very good and there are decent food options within the service station. The room was clean and spacious although somewhat tired. We would definitely stay here again

We arrived before our check in time and the reception couldn’t do enough for us they let us have the keys for our rooms and allowed us to put our luggage in early which was great as we was had plans in London and didn’t want to leave our belongings in the car.

There was fault with the fire alarm, which went off twice between 11.25pm and 12am. The communication about the fault was very poor and guests were left standing in the reception area with no information about the situation of what to do. This alarm fault caused a lot of disruption. However, it was the lack of communication which was most frustrating and worrying.

All our room garbage cans were full in our 2nd day, so we asked the front desk to have our room clean. We got back around 7:00 pm and the garbage cans were still full. The cleaners just dropped off new towels in the room. I overheard another customer complaining about dirty room during our check in. All staff in this hotel are very lazy and does not seem to care about customers.

No one at reception, no idea how long they would take to come out, no one was around, I only checked in for few hours to relax, didn’t want to be standing at reception. Last time I stayed there parking was free, no where It mention parking fee. And the staff member said cash only and charged £5 cash. Booked a room for 2 adults, only 1 set of towels Tv not working Both above I could get a receptionist to address the issue as no one was there. Few hours later, whilst checking out, no one there again, just left my hotel card at the desk. Should attest have a bell for customers to notify the staff someone is there waiting.

I didn’t have breakfast of a night there’s I staff doing reception and bar and it took 20mins to get a drink and I was the only customer there was 4 people queuing up for reception and I was there before them

A one night stay and the room had everything I needed. Towels and bedding were clean and bed comfortable. Asked and got a lovely quiet room at the back overlooking nature reserve. Mice for a walk in the morning and great uf you have dogs. Quick and efficient check in and check out. Paid for a breakfast voucher for the service station which was delicious and good value. Room needed updating and some tlc, but still good for the price and OK for a one night stay shilst travelling. Parking included in the price.

Just an overnight stay for work and I must say I was impressed. Despite it's proximity to the M25 it was pretty peaceful. Room and bathroom functional and clean. Being in a service station there's everything you need, car charging, food outlets, fuel. So, all it all, nothing swanky but very comfortable.

Had to pay additional fees to park on arrival which I wasnt aware of. Apparently if you book direct they waive this fee so hotels.com are also being naughty here but I dont like these sort of tactics. Also breakfast on site is 8.99 pp. Hotels.com charged 10.00 so again very annoyed. And to top this you have to eat in the services next door. Food was not worth the money. The room was tired. Bathroom white goods broke and repaired with staining around the room. Windows ill fitting and generally run down. It served a purpose but i dont know who to blame more the hotel or hotels.com for mis information.

It was a really comfortable bed. Thankfully as my visit was the end of February there was a heater in the room (there was also a fan). The room was quiet, which was surprising as it's at a Services. The staff were very friendly and helpful. When my hairdryer didn't work they quickly replaced it. The building is somewhat dated. As it's at the Services there were plenty of places to get food. I'd definitely stay there again.

The WiFi didn’t work at all which we needed due to working whilst I was staying at the hotel. Plug sockets in the room were so low on one side under the tv that we couldn’t plug our phone chargers in at all. We thought there was on site breakfast and restaurant facilities. A bit disappointed that we had to use the next door service area facilities for food as we sure suggested the hotel did the breakfast. Shower wax fantastic though, very powerful.

Handy for what we needed. Property looking a little tired. It it was fine for ou4 needs. We have stayed there before and it is very reasonably priced and the added bonus of being able to get a breakfast is a plus for us

Loved the hotel comfortable spotlessly clean room everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Tea coffee facilities, shower and hand gel, hair dryer towels, fan in room. We had breakfast one morning very nice that was served in the food hall. Plenty of eateries spoiled for choice will definitely stay again thank you

Like others have said, the room was a little dated with some limescale and wear and tear mainly in the bathroom, but everything in working order and good enough for the price. The room was very clean, smelled fresh and the bed was comfortable. It even had a tall fan. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there's a lift for when you have bags and of course the services with shops are very close so it feels safe with lots of amenities, and surprisingly quiet. Parking is £5 per night which is very reasonable, only thing is most of the parking near the hotel is electric so you can't park that close if not an EV. Overall I'd definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
